Chapter 2 - Fight or Flight

"Could that really be part of our allied forces?" Williams asked.

"I don't know," I replied, "Open a com channel to them."

"Channel is open Sir." Williams glanced over.

"This is Lieutenant Cornel Skye, we're under attack and would like some assistance." I paused, waiting for a reply.

"Sir, our sensors indicate that they are charging their weapons." Williams looked back.

The picture of the massive ship appeared on the ships massive monitor. On the screen it looked as if several small suns were dawning on the horizon.

Then the ship fired, several beams erupted from each sun like ball of energy. Each beam was calibrated perfectly, they each arced gracefully through space, causing the enemy ships to explode into their own plumes of plasma upon contact.

"Wow, they're a really good shot, they destroyed their strongest ships on contact." Kyla broke the silence.

The ship then turned to face the Hiro, the com channel cracking to life.

On the screen a boy about Skye's age sat upon a seat, which was almost an exact copy of the one Skye was standing in front of.

"This is Blake of the warship Prospect of Regret, Skye, we would like for you to come aboard to brief us as to what these enemies were, and we're prepared to re-outfit your ship to help us destroy them." The boy replied.

"Sure," Skye replied, "We'll dock in a few seconds."

"We we're thinking a little bit more like now." The boy smiled as a green beam jet from the bridge of the unknown ship, grabbing Skye and returning to the Prospect.

The light faded and Skye was standing in a huge bridge, with the bright lights above him glowing brightly in his face.

"What the hell was that, we're still working on transport machines." Skye questioned.

"We'll it would appear that we are a lot further advanced then you are." The boy stood up.

"My name is Blake." The boy reached out his hand.

"Skye," he shook the other boy's hand.

"Just a question why didn't you wait until I docked my ship, then I would have just gotten to your bridge?" Skye questioned

"Unfortunately, they wont be joining us," Blake gestured to the window, which showed a particle beam jetting from Blake's ship across space and through the Hiro, cutting it neatly into two.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Skye demanded.

"What must be done." Blake replied.

Skye ran towards the bridge window, "No!" he shouted.

"What the fuck did you do that for!" Skye demanded, a single tear streaming down his cheek." You're going to pay for that!" Skye screamed, as he saw his ship slowly being engulfed in flames from secondary explosions.

Skye reached to his hip, and drew the one weapon that only one other person could beat from its holster, his plasma sword. He swung it out and the ionized particles of matter erupted from the hilt, and streaking out into a super heated blade.

"You really want to try me?" Blake questioned.

"Let's go." Skye glared.

Blake drew a similar blade, it was a simple golden plated hilt, in which a long super hardened chrome blade jetted from, sharpened to the best of its ability and lights a blaze with a steady stream of particles.

The two lunged at each other, swinging their blades; which rang out a loud echo around the room as the two fought.

A few minutes later it had worn them both down enough that Blake let down his guard for a sec, enough time for Skye to cut his across the abdomen of his shirt.

"That didn't hurt Skye," Blake removed his shirt revealing full body armor; "I'm not stupid."

This time it was Skye whose guard went down, as Blake slashed him across the back, in which Skye smiled. "Neither am I." he replied removing his shirt.

The fight wore down and they stopped fighting kneeling on the ground, before Blake keyed his com.

"Security come and get him." He ordered.

A second later the security crew armed with a lot more then the standard equipment, marched onto the bridge and grabbed Skye.

"What are you doing?!" Skye shouted.

"Take him to his cell." Blake ordered.

Skye was stripped and thrown into his cell.

The only source of light in his cell was a small window in which some fake sunlight passed, apart from that all the lights in his cold dark cell were off. The only source of warmth a small flannel blanket in front of him, which he wrapped himself in.

A few hours later the lights in Skye's cell burst to life, causing Skye to squint as his eyes adjusted.

Skye gasped when his eyes adjusted, here walking into his cell was a huge, anthro horse, wearing nothing but a pair of boxers.

He looked at Skye, "How do you like my room?" he asked him., in a familiar voice.

The horse clacked his hoofs off of the floor and the lights dimmed a bit, and out of thin air a bed, bathroom and the rest of what you would find in a 5 star luxury hotel appeared in a quick wash of silver light.

"Well I wouldn't exactly call this a room until now but... Blake?" Skye clued in to the voice.

"Yeah." the horse replied.

"What happened, I mean your a... a, horse." Skye stuttered.

"This is my real form, the same with the rest of this ship, they're all anthro something's, we just had the human look on until we got you here." Blake explained.

"But why any of this, why me, why kill my crew." Skye asked.

"It's because we needed you, and they'd get in our way." Blake explained.

"Why though, what's so special about me?" Skye asked.

"Put these on." Blake motioned to a pair of his boxers and Pj's, and a snugly fitting black muscle shirt, which Skye put on.

"It's because according to our technology, not only can you morph into an anthro creature like myself, but you can do it without the aid of any technology. But most amazingly, you can morph into more than one form." Blake glared.

Skye couldn't help but feel kind of proud, being one of Joey's prized morphs, but he quickly caught himself, and remembered just how much pain Joey had caused everyone that he knew.
