Chronicles of the elements

Book 1 Air : chapter 1

Water, earth, fire, air, these are the four elements that govern this world. The people in this world had the power to use one of the elements. Sadly not everyone in this world can use the elements witch divided the people on this world but they overcame it by understanding one another. They learned even if person can use an element is not unstopable and a person who can't use an element is not powerless. All was not peacefull though for the ones gifted with the power of the elements. The four factions that are found in the world are The Water Tribe, The Earth Kingdom, The Fire Nation and The Air Temples. Each faction that goverened an element thought there's were superior to the other elements that brought great conflict and war to the entire world. Lucky for the world there was one to keep the peace a person that could use all of the elements the "Gaurdian". The Gaurdian would always be on this world to protect for whenever the Gaurdian dies he would be reborn in the next cycle. This continued for many centuries but conflict would always be there and the "Gaurdian" realized he is only one person and can't be everywhere in the world. One war in particular where the "Gaurdian" was killed and when he was reborn the war had progressed so much that it nearly destroyed the world. The "Gaurdian" saw that this catostrophe that nearly destroyed the world was a warning tried to find a solution in wich the "Gaurdian" did with the help of the spirits of the world the Gaurdian was able to spread his gift on a special island. In witch the people born on that island would also have the gift of using all four elements. With this method a Gaurdian would be in most places of the world to keep the peace be it of people conflicting with each other or ones more of the spiritual plain. The island was then on protected and hidden from the rest of the world. Only when the time has come for them to leave grand elders from each elemental faction would come and get the new Guardians for only they know where the island should be. Then the new Guardians would go out in to the world and learn from each faction to learn to control the elements and to decide where they want to be and protect.

Our story begins on the island where the new Gaurdians are born.

"Tenebrea!" the 14 year old white wolf waking up with a start in his bedroom hearing his mother call from below, "your friends have come over to get you."

I grogily got up and shouted to my mother, " Why".

My mother answered, " Did you forget what day it is today?"

I was roaming in my head trying to remember what is so special about today and I remembered and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

" Crud I can't believe I forgot it's today". I remembered today is the day of the spiritual ceremony to become "Gaurdians" the ones born in this generation with the power to use all four elements will be there but me and my friends planned to have some fun before the ceremony at the waterfall.

I changed as quickly as possible in to a shirt and my swim trunks grabbing my ceremony clothes and putting them in my bag along with a towel. I did a quick check in the mirror to see if everything is ok. Tenebrea stood at 5"7 completly covered in white fur from head to paws to tail. His eyes were green. A final nod to myself I went to see my friends.

I came running down stairs to say a quick morning to my mom before leaving. "Morning in sleepyhead", said my mother with smile on here face. My mother's name was Elly she was a 5"5 grey wolf she is covered in grey fur from hear head to tail except her chest area to hear stomach and under her chin witch is covered in nice white fur. Her eyes are a nice green colour witch is where I get the colour of my eyes from. "I'll see you at the ceremony make sure not to play to long as to not be late for the ceremony", said my mother. "Yes mom", I said looking like I knew she was going to say that. I gave here a quick wave bye and headed to the front door.

I opened the front house door and said hi to my best 3 friends, "Hey guys sorry did I keep you guys waiting too long".

"Not as much as you usually do" said Aran jokingly one of my best friends who is a rabbit. He was about 5"6 ( 5"8 if you counted the ears ). He was covered in brown fur except for his stomach and his tail wich where a nice white colour and his eyes was strong amber colour.

"We know you are not a morning so we were expecting you to oversleep a bit" ,said Kima sounding like he knew this was going to happen another one of my best friends who was a lion. He was about 5"9. He was covered on blond fur except for his main and the tuff of his tail wich was a bit a of burnt red colour and his eyes was a mix between blue and green.

"Patience is a gift we should all share to one another" and last but not least was Cielo with another of his philisofical words who was a snow leopard. He was covered in grey fur with black spots all over. He was as tall as me 5"7 and his eyes were a nice blue colour. " I mean were friends so its ok to wait a little bit", said Ciel knowing we can't always understand one of his philisofical sayings.

They were all wearing a shirt and swim trunks also and they had a bag wich I guesed had there ceremony clothes also. Me and my friends are all the same age and are of the few on the island who were born with the ability to use all for elements. There were others besides us. In total there were only 9 born in this generation that can be a "Gaurdian".

"So shall we have a nice fun race to see who could get to the waterfall first", I said to all 3 of them.

"No!", they all said in unison to me wich made my ears droop a bit.

"The last race we had was a no contest for you since your much better at using wind than all of us", said Kima.

"Oh yeah sorry forgot" I said with a smile and my tong sticking out.

I remembered even though we could use all the elements. We were better at a different element than the others. I was better at using wind than my friends but Kima was better at using fire, Cielo was better at using water and Aran was better at using earth.

"We'll walk to the waterfall if that is alright with everyone" Ciel said. In wich we all nodded in agreement and started to walk to the waterfall in the forest.

We all talked about what the ceremony was gonna be like since no one would tell us what would happen. We knew when the ceremony would be over we could learn from real masters of the elements all over the world before we picked a spot to become Gaurdian of that location.

We finnaly reached the waterfall wich was a nice flowing water down from a nice height to the clear water below wich was deep enough to dive in.

We all set our bags in a good spots and put our shirts in the bags before jumped in the water. "Me first!" I shouted and couldnt resist using my wind element to move as fast as the wind and jumping in the water so fast your eyes would have trouble keeping up with.

As soon as i hit the water it was nice and refreshing and not that cold even if it was a bit early in the morning. "C'mon the waters great", I waved to my friends with a smile on my face. My friends saw me and they laughed a bit watching me act like a kid. They were ditching their shirts too to join me in the water. Ciel had a very nice lithe build since he didnt worry about being the strongest wich was the same as my build. Unlike Kima and Aran who were both were well built since they both begun a rivalry on who is the strongest.

All 3 of them jumped. Aran and Kima made a nice splash when they came in the water unlike Ciel who merely landed in the water not making a splash and vanishing. Kima and Aran were seeing me but they didnt see Ciel in wich i got the idea on what he had planed, "swim for the shore" I said but it was to late when ciel made a giant wave and splashed us 3 on to the shore while Ciel rememerged with an innocent smile on his face. Me, Aran and Kima all shouted together, " it is so on!".

We all rough housed in the water for a good while. Wich was a bit arousing for me since I was kind of atracted to my friends but I didnt want to act on it since I thought doing so would probably ruin our friendship also I dont know how they would react to there friend liking guys. It was getting time for us to head for the ceremony so we all decided to jump of the waterfall using our elements to do a little mix with the jump. Ciel wanted to sit this one out since he was kind of tired of making waves for us.

Kima was up first on the water fall "Time for me to show yo umy vanishing steam illusion" sai the lion. Using his fire element to engulf his arms in fire and then doing a nice dive jump. He splashed in the water steam just enveloped the whole place. I used my wind element to blow away the steam to find the lion not in the water. Looking for him thats when I heard,"Boo", in wich I yelped and jumped to find the lion behind me. "Kima", I said as I shoved him a little but couldnt hide my smile since that was a nice trick.

"Ok nice trick", said Aran," but I am gonna do one even better", he said as we watched him climb up the waterfall. Aran was getting ready to jump when he shoute, "Ultimate cannonbal" when he jumped we saw he had a bunch of big rocks with him and ultimate was right the splash was so big it soaked us all who were on shore.

Finnally it was my turn but i didnt have a clue on what to do thats when Ciel said, "I really want to see what your wind element can do" ,Ciel said with a smile. I'm not really sure what I should do for a jump I said to him", I said to him. I'm sure you can come up with something really amazing, Ciel said wich made me blush a bit.

I was preparing for my jump in wich I thought I'll just jump as high as I can go and use my wind element to make a big splash too. "Here I go!", I shouted using my wind element to jump as high as I can. When I was as high as I could be I was preparing to gather the wind in to a big ball when I heard something. ".e.p u. h.l. .s" I looked around in the air and saw nothing around so I went back to making my ball of wind for the biggest splash I hope. Thats when something odd happened the ball got bigger than what I could normally make and then when the ball made contact with the water woosh a water cyclone was made. The water cyclone grew and dragged me with all the way to the top before it vanished and made dark clouds in its place wich left falling from a great height. I wanted to use my wind element to stop my falling but I felt drained and unable to move correctly.

Ciel saw that something was wrong as I wasn't slowing down from such a height. Ciel used his water element to move to the water high enough so I wouldnt hurt myself when I came back down. Then Kima was the one who carried me out of the water on to land where he laid me gently on the ground since I didn't have the strength to move yet. After a little rest I was able to sit up. "What the heck happened up their", Aran the one saying to break the silence. "I dont know" I said not understanding myself what happened.

O boy those dark clouds dont look good", I said while looking up at the sky. They sure dont look good", a loud voice wich made us all froze said. "Hey dad" Kima said and I was yep it was Kima's father in wich he was like a bigger version of Kima. Krey that was Kima's fathers name who was also the chief of the island and also was a previous generation "Gaurdian". "So what happened " Krey said while looking at us and me who looked comepletly put of it. It was my fault", I said, I wanted to make to make a really big splash using my wind element then when I was high up in the air I heard a voice I'm not sure what it said but as soon as it came it vanished". "Then my wind element went kind of crazy and this cyclone happened and after the cyclone vanished I felt myself comepletly drained" I said everyone listening. I saw Krey with a bit of sadness in his eyes like heard something he didnt want to hear.

"Can you stand", Krey said to me. "I'll try", I said to Krey. I tried to stand up only to fall just as quickly in wich Kima caught me. "Hmm it looks like you won't be able to participate in the ceremony today and those dark clouds dont look like they will be any good for the ceremony either, Krey said. "We will have to postpone the ceremony the weather and you Tenebrea should be alright by tomorrow" said Krey. "Kima think you carry Tenebrea back to his house" Krey said to Kima. "Sure I can do that", said Kima, "Ciel, Aran think you can grab our bags for us". Ciel nodded and Aran said, " Sure we can do that. Having Kima carry me back was embarrising but at the same time I felt safe in Kima's strong arms. It was then I realized how truly tired I was. Almost instantly I fell asleep in Kima's arms.
