#1 of Trapped In Minecraft!

This is my first upload.... Please be gentle.

This is my first story ever to be uploaded on the internet ever... Its about me and a few of my friends getting trapped in minecraft, as the title suggests.

Disclaimers: I do not own Minecraft. Minecraft is owned by Mojang. The only thing I do own are the ideas that lead up to the creation of this story. The names of the characters are of me and my friends... Later on in the story, we give each other nicknames that we either choose, or are related to our minecraft names. I know that mine will be.

Anyway, now that the disclaimers are done, Geronimo, Allons-y, or whatever you tell yourself when you dive into a new story.

Trapped In Minecraft

Following the torches that lit the way back up to the surface, I looked behind me as I ran. "Good! They're still with me," I thought. I heard the twang of a bow followed by the thud of the arrow hitting the wall just in front of me. "Shit! Is there no end to them?!" I shout, skidding to a halt. I drew my iron sword and managed to kill the skeleton that shot the arrow, only to see that there were five more skeletons further down the tunnel that it had come from. "The zombies are still following us! They're right behind us!" shouted Will. "We should have come better equipped to fend off these mobs" said Brendan. "Well there's nothing we can do about it now, we'll just have to keep pushing on forward. My clock says that it's almost daytime" I say. I turn around just in time to see a creeper come around the corner at the end of the corridor that we had just came from. "CREEPER!" I shout, startling my friends back into running. "There's no way we can kill it in our current condition," Will says, "if it explodes, we might really die for sure this time." "Um guys, I know we're running and all, but what should we do about the horde of zombies in front of us?" asks Brendan. Even though we were running for our lives, this wasn't our first close encounter with death. I instantly took command and started shouting out orders, "Will, give Brendan the materials that we gathered today and try to take out as many zombies as you can with your bow, Brendan, try to seal off the tunnel with the materials that Will gave you. I will go and kill the ones that get too close." After I said this, we all sprang into action. Will drawing his bow with an arrow already notched into place, Brendan shuffling around in his bag for useable materials, while I put on my iron helmet and prepared to face the wave of zombies bearing down on us. As Will started firing his bow at the zombies in front of us, I turned and looked to see how close the creeper was to us. I estimated that the creeper was roughly thirty feet from us and closing. Fortunately for us, Creepers are the slowest hostile that we have ever encountered, not that we actively try going out and looking for them, but of the ones that we crossed paths with before. I looked at Brendan and say, "you had better hurry up and get started on that wall Brendan, the creeper is getting closer." Brendan responded, "I'm trying! I'm trying! It's just that there's nothing in here that we can afford to lose! What do you want me to do, seal it up with the iron?" "I could use a little help up here Ben! The zombies are getting close!" shouts Will. I shout back, "On my way! And yes Brendan, I expect you to use the iron we collected today. We can always find more iron in the next cave we find. It's not worth risking our lives over." I turn back to face the oncoming zombies. I turn to Will and say, "Will, switch to your diamond sword and help me take care of the rest of these zombies! I think I can see the cave's entrance just past these zombies! We're almost there guys, just hang on and we'll be out of here." A zombie stumbles in front of me and I manage to behead it just as Will is drawing his own sword. We each take out five zombies, but for each one that we manage to kill, another one fills in to replace it. I shout back at Brendan, "Are you finished with that wall yet?! We could use a hand up here!" Brendan responded by jumping in front of me, sword drawn, hacking down the seemingly endless wave of zombies. After fighting the zombies for what seemed like hours, we managed to stumble out of the shadows of the cave and into the bright rays of the sun. "Everyone still here?" I gasped, out of breath. "Here," they both reply, also out of breath. "Let's rest here for a little while before we head back home," I suggest, knowing that they were exhausted from all that running.

You're probably wondering how we got ourselves in this predicament. In order to explain that, it might be easier just to start from the beginning. It's been so long since we first got here, but I'll try to remember.

Day 1: An unsettling experience and one hell of a nightmare

The last thing I remember before waking up in this bizarre world was that I was in my room reading a book about survival tips, since I was going to be going to an outdoor leadership type program that summer. I remember finishing a chapter about how to make some shelter to escape the harsher elements. Upon finishing the chapter, I placed a bookmark to show where I had stopped and turned to my computer. One of the first things I was told about the program was that there would be no electronic devices allowed throughout the entire trek. Knowing that I wouldn't be able to play games for the next month, I decided to get one last game in before I turned in for the night. A friend had recently bought a game for me as an early birthday present, so I decided to try it out. The game was called Minecraft. I had heard a few good things about the game, but never really looked into it before. I open up the launcher and type in my username and password. As I click the log in button, something strange happened. For a split second the screen when black, and what looked like a pair of eyes, if you could call them that, appeared on the screen. At that moment, it felt like time had slowed down to a crawl. I felt as if the eyes were looking right at me. As I continued to stare at the eyes, I could hear a strange noise. It sounded like the noise was coming from every direction. The more I stared at the eyes, the louder the noise became. After staring at the eyes for what seemed like hours, I finally looked away. The moment I looked away, it felt like time had sped back up to its normal pace. I got up to get some water and think a little about what just happened. I didn't think about it too long for when I turned to look back at the screen, the games' main screen was the only thing that I saw. I finished drinking my water and return to the game, brushing off what had happened as my imagination acting up. I hit the single player button, create a new world, and label it "Hello Minecraft, here I come!"

After playing for a little while, I memorized the basic crafting techniques and had built myself a quaint little home, equipped with a bed, a crafting table, a furnace, and a small chest. I made the bed using some wool from a group of sheep near the area where my character spawned. I was using some coal I found in a cave to cook some pork from a group of pigs I killed earlier when I noticed that it was getting dark outside. When I first found the coal, I thought to make some torches so that I could venture deeper into the cave. As I was about to journey deeper into the darkness of the cave, armed only with a wooden pick, a wooden sword, and a handful of torches, I noticed that my hunger bar was nearly depleted. When I was thinking about what I was going to do for food, I happened across the pigs mentioned earlier. So when I saw that the day was coming to an end, I put up some torches to light the area around my home. After lighting up the outside of my house, I go inside to light the room, since it was too dark to see. After making sure that the room had ample lighting, I realized that I had forgotten to feed my character. Four porkchops later and a full hunger bar, I decided that I should call it in and get some sleep. Yet before I went to bed, I decided to have my character get some sleep too. Right when I click on the bed to use it, I hear strange noises coming from outside. I had heard that there were some "mobs" that I needed to look out for and stay away from. My friends told me that they mostly spawn at night, but that they could still be hanging around under trees during the day. I decided that, if it came to confronting them, I would do it tomorrow night, since I had some work to do the next day. After it had turned to day in the game, I logged out of the game, turned my computer off, and went to bed.

That night, as I slept, I had a weird dream about the eyes from earlier. In my dream, the eyes were having a staring contest with me. It was as if we both knew that something would happen to whoever looked away first, yet neither of us knew exactly what that something was. As we were staring at the other, I got the feeling that I had to win at any cost. After a while, my eyes started to bother me and I knew that I was going to lose. As soon as the eyes sensed my discomfort from keeping my eyes open for so long, it knew that it was going to win. When it realized that it was that close to winning, it made a noise that came from everywhere. It let loose an ungodly screech the moment I blinked, as if it were shouting, "Yeah! I won!" Then, after its moment of victory was over, it started to laugh, if you could call it laughing. It's laughter sent chills down my spine. As it was laughing, a pair of jet black hands, followed by long arms, reached out of the screen and grabbed at me. As soon as I saw the hands coming out of the screen, I backed away in fear of what was coming. I had no idea what was in store for me since I lost, but I knew that nothing good would come from it. So when the hands finally got a hold on me, it had such a strong, yet gentle, grip that seemed to say that it was pointless to struggle any further and accept the consequences. When I gave up fighting against the hands and accepted the idea that I had to face whatever the result was for losing, the hands started pulling me toward my computer. When I saw where I was being dragged, even though I had accepted my fate, a surge of fear came crashing over me and renewed my struggles to try to break free of the vice-like grip that was bringing me closer and closer to my appending fate. Needless to say, my struggles were for naught and I was sucked up into my own computer. The first thing I noticed after "entering" my computer, was that I was standing in a room that was pitch black. Everywhere I looked, nothing but black. I couldn't tell if the room stretched on forever, or if there were walls right in front of my face. Before I could find out more about where I was, a bright light suddenly appeared before me. After taking a few moments for my eyes adjusted to its brightness, I was about to ask where I was when it suddenly said with a male voice, "You have been selected to become part of my new world! Rejoice, for you are the first from your world to be allowed entrance to these vast holy lands, untampered and unexplored. Fear not that you will be alone, others from your world will be allowed entrance when they have passed their tests, much like the one you took only recently. I know you have many questions that you want to ask, but alas, my time here is over. May fortune find you on your new journey." And with that, the mysterious light disappeared.

As soon as the light left, the blackness that I had been standing on was suddenly replaced by the most breath taking view of what could only be the world that the light was talking about. Yet after a few moments of staring at it, I realized that I was falling. As I was falling, I kept trying to wake myself from the dream. Try as I might, I couldn't wake up. As the ground got closer and closer, the harder I tried to wake myself. When the ground was upon me and threatening to turn me into nothing but a puddle, I awoke with a start, practically jumping out of the bed. While I was trying to calm myself down from one of the most realistic dreams I had ever had, I didn't notice my surroundings. After I had regained my calm, that was when I saw that I wasn't in my room anymore. Hell, I wasn't even in my house anymore. As soon as this registered in my head I began to panic. Thoughts and questions raced through my mind. If I wasn't back home with my family, then where the hell was I? Will anyone notice that I went missing? What am I going to do? Why did this happen to me? On and on these questions came until suddenly a noise came from out of nowhere to break up these thoughts. It was then that I realized that I was starving. As I looked around the room, I noticed that it looked like it had been occupied. When I looked to see what was in the chest, lo and behold, there was meat. As I was eating the meat, which turned out to be porkchops, I looked around the room with a more interest. While I was taking in every little detail about the room, I kept getting this feeling like I knew where I was, like I had been here before. I kept telling myself that this was still a part of a dream, that all that was happening to me couldn't be real. When I looked outside and saw that night had fallen, I decided to try to sleep in the bed that was both alien and familiar to me and see whether or not I was truly asleep. Cause you know how sometimes you fall asleep in your dreams and wake up in the real world? I said to myself that this was one of those types of dreams. As I lay down and closed my eyes, I heard the creatures of the night go about their lives. However, the one thing that concerned me, before I slipped of into the gentle embrace of sleep, was that I could hear something groaning loudly. I could barely make out what it said before I fell asleep, "Brains!"

Please write in the comments below what you thought of this. I already have a couple of chapters, and I need to rewrite a few due to the loss of my iPod (I originally started this on my iPod), so updates may be random... So don't expect me to upload on a regular schedule (College and my job will interfere with the writing...). But when I do write, it is usually during my vacations and whenever I'm at home.
