The meeting
"I hate you" shouted toboe as he ran out of the front door. Why dose he hate me so! Toboe thought to him self for the millionth time about his step dad.
Ever since his mom remarried 6 years ago when he was 10 years old he has to deal with him.
He was heading towards the woods outside the city limit. He was running blind do to the tears building up in his eyes. He kept up his running until he was out of breath but, continued to walk away from the town with that hate full man.
Toboe just couldn't understand why it angered Dan (step dad) that Toboe like guys. He believed that Dan just didn't like him for some unknown reason and that was why he hit toboe or verbally abused him like earlier.
When everyone else found out they treated him different. Some would avoid him while others called him names. His friends shunned him like the plague and denied be his friends.
"Is there anyone who will live me for me? Do I really have to change to be accepted?" He shouted to deaf ears or so he thought for there was some one in the shadows watching him.
The sun had set and the moon was almost right above him. Toboe exhausted from the torment of his dad, the tornado that was his emotions and, the running around finally collapsed on a bed of moss. It was there that he cried him self to sleep with his mind in such a shattered ruin.
~~The stranger~~
When the stranger was sure that the boy was asleep did he dare to approach from his hiding place in the shadow.
The moon shone down to show a male lone wolf. Grey with a white under belly. This wolfs name was Ty. He was chased out of his pack because for some reason he was gifted with the intelligence of a human and ability to understand them.
He came to stand over the human, for some odd reason he found this him self drawn to this human. Ty gently gave the human a few licks on the face which seemed to give him relief from the night mare he was having.
It was there and then that he decided to adopt the human cub. If he didn't then how would he survive? Set in his idea he curled around Toboe to share warmth with him through the night.
~~Toboe~~
Toboe woke feeling warmth around him,
"W. .whats this?"
Toboe turns around to find him self face to face with a sleeping Ty "Aaaaaaaaah" "What the hell!" Toboe yells as he rolls out of Ty's embrace and starts to scoot backwards.
The wolf just looks up at him hen stands up on his four legs. The wolf walks forwards following a scooting Toboe until he is blocked by a tree a tree.
"Please don't eat me I beg you." says Toboe. Now at the thought of being killed all alone in the woods with no one around but him and the wolf Toboe breaks out crying.
"Fine go ahead, eat me then maybe I will be able to find some peace." Cries out the stressed out Toboe.
But to his utter amazement the wolf walks forward and starts to lick away his tears. Toboe finds this gesture so caring he relaxes and allows the wolf to lick away his tears, pain and, fear. When the wolf is done the boy hugs him.
"Thank you. Thank you so much. I really needed so one to show me care." He mutters in to the wolf's neck. The wolf lets Toboe hug him for a long time.
Then Toboe lets go and says out loud you should have a name so I have something to call you. The first name to pop into his mind was Ty.
Ty was the name of a fairy that relived pain of the heart in some story he remembered. And since the wolf relived him of his pain he decided on it.
Ty says "You are now officially Ty. What do you think of that?" Ty barks his agreement.
"I better get back home." Toboe says to Ty
Thinking to him self that his mom, sisters and, brother were probably worried about him. He wasn't too fond of thinking about the beating Dan would give him.
Now in some aspects Toboe was different then your normal boy. Having grown up in a city surrounded by woods and spending most of his spare time in them he picked up the ability to track animal and human trails. Also he took classes in arching and was an adept shot. Toboe was no expert in tracking and he knew it but, he was fairly decent. And the trail he made was fairly visible do to his clumsy running.
Toboe stood up and was about to leave when he thought.
"Hey Ty would it be alright if I come back to visit you?"
Ty of course barked his agreement. So the two walked in silence all the way back to the city limit.
"I'll come back tomorrow ok buddy?" Toboe says down to Ty and Ty just nodes his head. "Alright see you tomorrow Ty." Then Toboe runs off towards home.
Toboe stops out side of his two story house. It's alright you can do this Toboe, you can take all they have to say He pushes open the door.
"Toboe! Oh where have you been? I was worried about you all night!" Says Toboe's mom as she races to embrace him in a tight hug. Toboe avoiding the question asks "Where is everyone?"
"Your little sister (Ella) and brother (Mark) are at school, Carla (older sister) is at college, and you just missed Dan going to work." she answers confused at the abrupt change in subject.
Toboe sighs and holds his mom out at arm's length by her shoulders and says "Mom I am sorry but I can't stand living with Dan. You know he abuses me, so why don't you ever do any thing about it? Why can't you stop him from yelling at me or hitting me?"
"Oh honey just stay out of his way. Besides when he hit and yells it's punishment. He isn't abusing you he giving you discipline. I don't understand were you got such an imagination?"
Was the reply Toboe got statement. That and that he was to take a shower and go to bed because he needed to do both.
"Yes mom." Was the reluctant replied from Toboe.
Toboe woke later to the smell of dinner coming up the stairs to his room. So he headed down the stairs, his stomach growling do to the fact he hasn't eaten any thing since the previous school lunch.
When he arrives at the dinning room door way he is greeted by a snide comment from Dan.
"Hey fagot! So you came back after one night out in the woods hunh? Well not to surprising, you're too much of a dam puss to survive in the woods for two days let alone running away to live in there for ever."
All the while his mom looked down at her plate and continued to eat like there was nothing wrong. Carla wisely kept her mouth shut try not to snap at Dan do that he wouldn't move on to Mark or Ella.
Toboe only said "Yes Dan, what ever you say Dan." and quickly ate his meal while Dan continued to rant off.
After toboe finished his food and got up to leave he heard a comment Dan yelled at him. "That's right fagot! Run away! You are just proving you have no back bone! Pussy!"
An hour later while Toboe was lying on his bed thinking of when Ty licked away his pain, thinking of what it would be like to run away with him and, what they will do tomorrow. Some one knocked on his door and entered. It was Carla his 23 year old sister.
"When I finish college this year or the next and get a job as a biologist I'm taking you, Mark and, Ella. I will not have the shit for a man continue to abuse you or to turn on either of our two younger siblings." She said all of this with a determined face and then told him "Don't runaway please because if you leave now he will aim for Mark or Ella. So please stay for them."
Toboe looks her in the eyes and asks "How will you do that?" I will take it to court and win custody or I will take all three of you and we will run. I don't care if we have to go through the god forsaken deep woods that surround the city"
As Carla was leaving the room Toboe says one word barley audible which was "Thanks." She just looked at him and nodded.
That night Toboe dreamed of him, Ty, Mark, Ella and, Carla going through the deep woods safely and finding another city to live in.
