Dead Weight
Tails was drying cloths while Cutemon sat there staring at the chess board.
Tails said, "You're going to have to move eventually."
(Manic stares down into the pit seeing Cutemon and Tails. He hands his gun to Espio and picks him up.)
Cutemon said, "I'm thinking."
(Manic drops down a rope and Tails grab it and starts climbing up.)
Tails said, "You're going to have to move eventually."
Cutemon said, "But you always beat me."
Tails, "Yeah well me and my dad always used to play...he used to always beat me to. He beat me at everything."
(Manic whispered to Tails, "If you're going to join the group again there are two things. One is that I'm in charge now and too no dead weight. As he looked back to the ladies."
Tails put up the last peace of cloth then Cutemon made her move then said, "It's you're move Jason."
Tails stared past the clothes as Cutemon repeated, "It's you're move."
Tails kept staring at the tank past the cloths and said, "I'm thinking..."
Manic and Espio brought Tails along with his group to a area surrounded by R.V's. There were mostly humans here in this group. There was a guy with a gun who seemed more ready among them.
Manic said, "If were going to make it then we should make a run now."
Tails said to the girls, "You three get settled in."
He went with Manic and Espio going into a forest. Tails stopped and pulled out his gun. He started walking and the others started to follow him. There was a dead corpse with a sign. It said Liar. Tails stared at it as the others tried to figure what it was all about. Espio said, "Some one has a vendetta clearly."
Tails took a step back then said, "Best try not to think about too much."
They kept onward and saw another body with a sign on it and the middle of a field. It said rapist. Tails again looked at it for a moment. They went to a house and the last one said, Murderer. The man that was with them knocked at the entrance they heard something inside. They waited a few more moments then he said, "It must be stuck."
Manic quietly called over to Tails, "Hey..."
Tails went inside first they spread around the room as they neared the noise the man said, "We're getting close."
Tails whispered, "Shut up."
The walker attacked the man from behind and he yelled, "Get it off me!"
Tails came at it with his flashlight banging it several times against its head. After they searched the rest of house they went back to the main room. The man came in with some bears. He tossed them to everyone else. Tails asked, "So what were you before this mess."
The man said, "First the name is Gibbs and I was an Ice cream man. That was shit so I went for the marines, who-ra. What about you?"
Tails said, "I don't like to get into it."
They headed back after. Tikal hugged Tails as he returned. He went inside the trailer he was assigned and there was a leak. He stood over it for a while. He got up and went outside and walked passed the R.V's. He went over to a pit full of walkers. He stood there for a few moments then at the other side Patamon arrived. Patamon stared at Tails and he too stared back at Patamon. Patamon nodded and Tails waited a few moments then nodded back. Patamon left as he saw Dracmon dragging T.K and Tommy along. Patamon said, "Sorry..."
Dracmon asked, "For what?"
Patamon pulled out a syringe and stuck him in the neck with it. He took out two more hitting the two boys. He dragged them away. Tails went back to the camp. The group celebrated its new comers at a table. Tails joined them as more beers were passed around. Like last time he toyed with the drink in his hand instead off drinking anything. After Manic said, "Hey Jason, come on."
He led him to the top of the R.V's. As the others went inside he took out golf clubs and had Tails and him a ball.
Manic asked, "Just like old times right?"
Tails said, "I suppose."
Manic said, "You're lucky man. You found a new family to take care of. I couldn't do that again. You going to try and keep them safe huh?"
Tails said, "I will. Why will this place not do?"
Manic said, "I can try a make it work but...you know make it like before..." He swung again hitting another ball, "Damn it."
Tails waited a few more moments then said, "That really is a shame."
He then hit Manic with the golf club. Tails shoved Manic down. Tails jumped down said, "Not again..." He dragged Manic over to the pits and lowered him toward the walkers. He tried to pull himself up and poked Tails in the eye patch. Tails shoved harder as the walkers started to pull and bite at him. Tails let him go as he dropped Manic into the pit. He looked up and saw Patamon who was joined by Agumon and Shoutmon. Patamon pulled out a grappling gun and pulled Manic to the other side. The other two pulled out a purple parasite and shoved it in his throat. Tails nodded and so did Patamon. Tails went back to his trailer. He went on to have a fit as Tikal came in. Tikal asked, "What's wrong."
He sat down circling something on the map. Then said; "I don't think it's safe here anymore."
Tikal asked, "What are you talking about. This is home now. We are making this work. Julie just started helping out with medical work. Cutemon has just got adjust here too."
Tails went outside as Espio was with the men and the others gathered as well.
Gibbs said, "We found out the Manic died."
The group was in awe. Gibbs said, "So from now on I'm in charge..."
Some of the people said, "What, no we should vote to see who's in charge."
Gibbs said, "Look in a few days we'll have a vote of some kind. For now let's just have it this way."
Gibbs went with Espio and Tails on another run for supplies. The sneaked into another camp sight with another group.
Gibbs said, "Damn it, they have really good supplies...I say we take them."
Espio said, "No, we can find our own supplies."
They left as Tails looked on for a bit. Tails left then joining the other two as Espio grabbed some dead animals. Gibbs said, "This is some shit. We should have taken the other group down."
Espio said, "Look I'm trying here but we can't just go around killing people."
Tails looked back and headed back there. Gibbs asked, "Where are you going?"
He went back to the group and there were all dead. Gibbs looked around and shouted, "Son of bitch. I knew we should have taken them."
Tails said, "This wasn't walkers this was done by others."
They headed back. Cutemon ran up to Julie as she was on watch. Cutemon tagged her, "Tag you're it."
Julie looked over and said, "I can't play right now I have to watch over..." She handed her gun to a woman she meet in the camp and tagged her back. Cutemon chased her. Cutemon ran along the R.V's. She went over the dried cloths to see a walker. She screamed. She hid under the van as Julie was joined by Tails they both rushed over. Julie pulled at the already almost taken off leg of the walker as he had a grasp of Cutemon's leg. He pulled out his gun and shot it in the head.
(One night Tails said, "Pack you're things."
Tikal asked, "Why? We have a home here?"
Tails said, "Things are about to get really bad here. That first walker was just the start."
He drove the R.V back and out and they headed toward the road. They ladies screamed and Tails stopped. He said, "Stay here."
He got out and saw a group of walkers in the mud. They tried to move but it was like there were pretty much frozen. Every movement was pretty much in vein. Tails got back in...)
Tails got called over by Espio. Tails went in his R.V. Espio said, "Sorry about Manic. Things have really gotten out of hand."
He turned around and Tails said, "No, I'm sorry."
He took out a knife and stabbed Espio in the back, "Now you get to die three times and for good this time."
He dragged him out to the lake with a brick tied around his leg. He shoved Espio into the lake and stared out the docks the water. He went back to the camp and went into Gibbs R.V. he just took his gun out as Gibbs opened the door. Gibbs back up, "It was you..."
Tails said, "Sit down."
Gibbs fearfully sat down and Tails pulled out a cigarette box. Tails said, "Manic was a poor leader. He did say there couldn't be any dead weight around. And Espio never died before the out break had a one time offer to come back. But he was too soft for this world."
Gibbs asked, "And you?"
Tails said, "This group needs a firm leader. That could be you. But this place isn't good. Here have a smoke."
Gibbs said, "I don't smoke anymore."
Tails said, "In the end of the world and still living by some sort of standard rules huh?"
Agumon and Shoutmon snuck to the docks and looked down to see the walker Espio. Patamon watched from a high vantage point on the other side as the dove in and pulled him out. They pulled out another parasite and shoved in his mouth. Patamon sighed. He went back to the facility to a secret bunker he knew of. He found some military like cloths. The patch had a name it said Chris Redfield. He took off his old cloths and put on the new cloths. He went and tossed Ada's dead corpse before it turned. Patamon said, "Useless..."
Gibbs took to the cigarette, "So what do we tell the others."
Tails said, "We tell them that we lost Espio on the second run to walkers. And you already covered up Manic's death."
Gibbs asked, "Do you really think they'll believe it."
Tails said, "These people will follow their leader."
Tails left as they went to go join the others. The news was harsh but the people knew they had to move on once again. Tails again left the area when everyone was in their R.V's. He traveled over to the prison. He saw Veemon eating some corn with Kiff. He stared at them for a moment and proceeded to the other side. He saw Jijimon talking with Kotemon. Tails took out his gun and raised it up.
Patamon went into the room with the other dead bodies. He added Manic and Espio to the collection. He had moved T.K, Tommy and Dracmon to the center below. Patamon went back into the room and said, "All pods activate."
All them turned on at once. Patamon said, "You are my army now... We have one job and one job only, to take down the prison. This world is in our hands now so we must reshape it."
(Tails drove a truck by himself over to the huge wall the separated an army of walkers on the other side. He pulled out a rocket launcher and blasted it into the wall crumbling it down. The walkers came out.
Tails said, "Welcome to the apocalypse."
He turned the car around he left. As the walkers started to flood out even more.)
Patamon looked down to see the three of them wake up. Dracmon woke up first and left the two boys. They woke out a few minutes later. They held hands and hugged and kissed. Then Ada was fully turned into a walker. She came at them. T.K saw a gun that Patamon had left for them. He lifted it up and shot her in the head. T.K. entire body shivered as he dropped the gun.
Patamon whispered, "That's my boy."
