#18 of Iron Dragon

Alice called Jenny from the room while Carly was doing some physical therapy. They talked for a good twenty minutes, Alice had even got Jenny a present from her trip. It did a good job of picking Jenny's spirits up and she was glad to hear Alice's friend was doing so well after the accident. What really made her feel better was knowing Alice would be home the following weekend.

Jenny was thrilled that she didn't have to wait months to see Alice again, like they had originally thought. She could handle another week, besides she wanted to do some private celebrating with Alice. She spent most of the day wondering what Alice might have gotten her. Jenny went out and had a late lunch with some friends Sunday afternoon and did a little shopping to pass the time. The group did a little wedding dress window shopping as well.

They were excited for her and Alice's wedding whenever it was going to be. Jenny had picked up a few food items along with something a little lacy and naughty to wear when Alice got home.

Jim and his wife had invited her over for home made lasagna one night and they played a little Gin with some other friends that showed up later. She had put her conversation with Nightrunner at the back of her mind. No matter what she would stick with what she had said. Jenny still managed to beat Jim the card shark despite being a little distracted.

Jenny went back to her apartment and took a shower with one of their water proof toys. She managed to get dried off and brushed her teeth before just flopping onto the bed naked. She was tired and it wasn't like anyone was going to see her.

Jenny was rather surprised to wake up under the covers. Even more surprised to hear the shower running in the other bed room. Jenny got up and pulled on her bathrobe and walked across the hall. Nodrog was supposed to be gone at least another day.

"You're home early." Jenny stepped into his bathroom and leaned against the counter.

"Just got in, about an hour ago, actually. Any word from Alice?" Nodrog turned off the water.

"Her friend is doing remarkably well. She was planning on being home this weekend. Nightrunner stopped by..." Jenny went out into his room as he got out of the shower.

"What did he want?" Nodrog asked as he dried off.

"To talk to me, about you." Jenny said.

"Interesting." Nodrog replied. Always up to something he thought.

"Is it true that you ate their souls?" Jenny asked as he came out.

Nodrog looked at her and he sat down on the edge of his bed. "Ate, really isn't the right word for it. However, they no longer exist."

"What about Lilith?" Jenny asked.

Nodrog looked at her a bit puzzled. "What about her? She just made a bad decision, I don't hold it against her."

"That's not what I meant." Jenny grumbled and looked up at him.

"Oh, than you meant..." Nodrog reached out and pulled Jenny over to him. "You have nothing to worry about."

"It's just the way he made it sound..." Jenny purred as he kissed her on the neck repeatedly. "Hey..."

Jenny's bathrobe slowly fell to the floor and her purrs turned to soft moans as he drew her closer and kissed her other places. His hands cupped her butt as he kissed her lips. "I do have to... go to work."

"Hm, guess you are going to be late..." Nodrog smiled as he pulled her with him as he leaned back.

"I think I get your point." Jenny giggled as she felt his growing hard on rub between her legs. She pressed and rubbed against him. He gently rolled her onto her back and kissed his way from her neck to her groin. Jenny purred as his tongue teased her.

Nodrog smiled as Jenny shivered and moaned. She arched her back and clawed at the sheets as she came. He very lightly ran a single claw along the back of her thigh, across her butt then all the way up her spine as she rolled onto her side. It caused another shiver to come over her.

"Oh... that's mean..." Jenny purred. He kissed the back of her neck as she reached between her legs to help get him inside of her. She moaned as he slowly pushed into her. As his knot spread her wider, work didn't seem so important. He did seem a little different, and not just the way he touched her. Nodrog could always make her and Alice feel wonderful, but this seemed even better...

Jenny purred more as he nibbled on her neck or ear. He gave her a mix of chills and pleasure as he so lightly ran a claw down from between her breasts almost to her vulva. She had held her breath as it ran across her abdomen, causing the hair all over her body to stand up on end. That combined with the other sensual things he was doing caused an intense orgasm. Jenny pressed against him, moaning as the knot swelled inside of her.

They were laying in bed rather blissfully until her cell phone rang. "Hope they don't mind leaving a message."

"I do not think they have much of a choice." Nodrog said.

"She must have forgotten her phone someplace." Kenny said as he hung up his phone.

"No big deal, at least I know you three can keep a secret." Big Joe said as Katie drove them from the airport down to the shop.

"Hope you don't mind the side trip guys, but I really think the three of you need to see this." Katie said.

"I have nowhere to be." Ron said from the back of the van they were riding in. The twins just laughed and giggled since they were the only ones to have seen at least in pictures what Katie wanted to show them.

"Neither do we since they scrubbed the dig again." Jim said.

"And the maintenance can wait another day." Kenny would like a day not cramped in a plane, or under the hood of something.

Katie lead them to the back of the shop where, in the dark sat a car under a cover. It was thick and wrinkled to hide what lay underneath it. "You three have to promise not to say anything to Alice about this. Trust me you don't want to know what will happen if you do."

Kenny, Jim and Ron said varying degrees of they wouldn't say a word. Katie slowly pulled the cover off the Viper and Joe flipped on the lights. The three stood rather speechless.

"It's all hers once the twins work their evil on the engine and drive line. Its both a present for her victories and her engagement." Katie said.

"Evil won't even come close on this project." DJ said.

"We are talking turning a super car into a hyper car eating snake." TJ said.

"With this, the only thing any of her competitors are going to see is tail lights." DJ said.

"Does anyone else know about it?" Ron asked.

"Outside of this little group here, not a soul. I have been working on a new system for the Lotus, but we are going to put it in here. I am thinking with the motor they have in mind with even a conservative tune... This is going to have four digit power levels, at all four wheels." Little Joe said.

"I think that is a special kind of crazy to give our little mouse a thousand plus horse power car." Kenny said. Jim and Ron just nodded in agreement.

Katie smiled wickedly. "Then it's perfect."

Kenny answered his phone. "Hey Jenny. No nothing is going on, just was letting you know we're are back in town. Quick stop at the shop and Katie will give us a ride home."

"I will let you know when Alice is back in town, so we can actually have a real celebration." Jim said.

"Oh it will be a party after Joe sees, how much work we have lined out after people heard about the three first places. Two of the mags have come by to run an article on the shop." Katie said as they walked back out to the van.

"Busy is good." Kenny said.

"How busy are you talking?" Ron asked.

"I would like to know too." Joe said.

"Like we need a bigger shop and more help busy." Katie said with a smile as she drove out to the company building.

The twins actually lived in one of the apartments above the shop. They were only up in it long enough to put their bags in their rooms before they headed back down. Little Joe had the same thought as the three started working on the car. Katie had done the outside, and they had gotten the roll cage installed. Little Joe would finish up the electronics and some of the interior.

It had been a long two weeks, but Alice was glad to be home. She was a little surprised to find the apartment empty. She unpacked her two bags and looked around to see if either of them had left a note. As she stood in the kitchen the strange shadow grew from the floor. It didn't scare her nearly as bad this time as it had the first time. Alice even managed a little smile and a wave to it, it certainly tried to seem friendly.

What she never would have thought was who stepped out of the shadow. Sherman and Jenny were now standing in front of the shadow. "Hello." Sherman said as Jenny ran over to her and gave her a hug and a lengthy kiss.

"What's going on?" Alice asked.

"It is a rather long story." Jenny turned to the shadow. "Thank you for bringing us home Azule."

Azule smiled and waved good bye before disappearing once more. Sherman actually bought the three of them diner as Jenny and him both tried to explain what was going on. Jenny told her a rather condensed version of what had happened and where they had been.

"I missed all the excitement then." Alice said.

"Not really all of us were asleep at the time. Plus you are supposed to come with us tomorrow." Jenny and Alice sat cuddled on the couch.

"Why do I need to go?" Alice asked.

"Because you are the one that woke him up." Sherman said.

Alice was a bit shocked, but he was right. She was the one who smeared blood on him, and it was her blood that woke him up. Like Jenny and Sherman she trusted him with her life. "So where is this place, and what is it like getting there?"

Sherman and Jenny looked and the other one. "We don't know where it is."

"As for getting there, it is like passing through a dark colored curtain." Jenny said.

"I should get going, after all you two have a little celebrating to do after all. See you in the morning." Sherman got up and walked to the door.

"Thanks for going with me today." Jenny said.

"Not a problem, he is my friend too." Sherman said and left.

Jenny got up and locked the door then sat back down next to Alice. "You don't know how glad I am that you are home." Jenny pulled Alice close and hugged her tightly.

"I am really glad to be home. The race would have been better if you and him could have been there..." Alice put her arms around Jenny.

"So... did you?" Jenny asked with a lustful curiosity.

Alice blushed and smiled. "I did."

"You naughty little mouse, are your going to tell me?" Jenny purred as she felt Alice slip a hand down the back of her jeans.

"Oh I can do better than that..." Alice kissed her. Both of their gifts to the other had gone forgotten as Alice repeated what she had done in France.

Sherman's light knock on the door did come early, but the two were up and dressed. He had all ready ate and sat in the chair while they ate. Azule and Nightrunner showed up precisely when he said they would.

"Good you are here. I hear congratulations are in order, Alice. I admit I only saw a little bit." Nightrunner said.

"Thank you." Alice didn't know he would have watched any of the race.

"If the three of you are ready, we should get going." Nightrunner said.

Jenny took hold of Alice's hand and led the way. "Trust me."

She didn't know why but Alice held her breath and closed her eyes as they stepped through Azule. She did not feel a thing, once she opened her eyes they were in a very different room. It was a brightly lit and decorated room, with dark gray stone walls. It had a rather knights of the round table feel and look to it.

"Where are we?" Alice asked and turned at the sound of Nodrog's voice.

"Quunta 3, in what you call the Andromeda galaxy." Nodrog walked over to them. "Congratulations on first place, Alice." He gave her a hug and kissed the top of her head.

"We're that far away?" Alice asked and looked out the window.

"A long way from home, it's a shame we can't give you three a proper tour. Not much time for sightseeing I am afraid. I am Pang Zsu, and this is Amy Kraft." Pang Zsu said as he and Amy walked over to them.

"Now that we are all here, let us head to the council chamber." Nightrunner said and held the door for them all.

Chapter

Nightrunner and Pang Zsu both gave them a little information as they walked down halls. Alice thought she was on some movie set with all the different kinds of monsters they met. The architecture was amazing, she thought of several people who would do anything to come here. They stopped at an intersection.

"Amy please take them to their seats. Pang Zsu and I have to take Nodrog in through the doors on the floor." Nightrunner said.

"Of course." Amy said and Alice watched as Nodrog followed the other two monsters. "This way Alice."

Alice turned and jogged a few steps to catch up with them. Sherman held open the door for the three women. It was a small box with enough seating for four people, they were ten feet or so higher than the floor Nodrog, Nightrunner and Pang Zsu stood on. There was a large half moon shaped table where she counted twenty different creatures sat or stood. Plus five very small figures that were standing on the table.

At least two different kinds of elves, a male and female fairy and a dragon sat among a number of monsters she didn't know the names of. She figured the single human looking man was a vampire who sat next to a bear. As Alice looked around the room it looked as if they were the ones out of place, very few anthros in the crowd.

Alice only partly paid attention to the explanation Amy was giving them as things seemed to get under way. She was wholly unprepared when Nightrunner called her name.

"I didn't think they would get to us so soon." Sherman said quietly.

"Neither did I." Jenny said.

Nightrunner had walked over to their seats and snapped his fingers causing a set of stairs and a gate to appear in front of them. "Alice if you would come down here."

Alice stood and nervously walked down the stairs. Nightrunner put a hand on her shoulder. "You have nothing to worry about." It comforted her a little as they walked over to the large table.

It was the bear who spoke first. "As Nightrunner said, you don't have anything to worry about. We would like to hear in your own words, how you found and woke Nodrog."

She felt the little tells that Nodrog was in her mind. 'It's all right Alice, just tell them what you remember.'

Alice took a deep breath and recounted how her and Kathrin had found the hidden passage while trying to get away from the group of attackers. She told them she had gotten shot in the arm and she was using her other hand to stop the bleeding. "I tripped over something and reached out with my bloody hand to catch my fall."

"It was pure accident that I got blood all over his snout. We heard the men coming and hid behind him and the stone he was sitting on. Just as they were about to shoot us, he woke up." Alice said as she looked back at those seated in front of them.

"And after that?" The bear asked.

"He killed the men that had chased after us and ate them. Kathrin and I were hiding behind the stone. He then checked on us to be sure we were okay. The first thing he did was heal the wound on my arm." Alice said.

"After that we understand he killed the rest of the unit that had attacked you and the rest of the group you were with. Correct?" One of the elves asked.

"Yes, they opened fire on him as soon as they saw him. So it was in his own self defense and ours." Alice said.

Nightrunner translated the councils' discussion for Alice. Amy did her best to do the same for Jenny and Sherman. Alice thought it was a little rude to talk about her in a language she couldn't understand.

Time was funny here, there was numerous windows. The light never changed as they had asked her to clarify some other events. It should be nearly noon, but still looked like early morning. It felt like the questioning she had to endure over her report back home. Still he had saved her twice, and she was going to do her damnedest to return the favor.

Jenny was thankful they did not seem interested in the three's sex life. It was mainly glossed over, quickly. Jenny could tell Alice was very uncomfortable down there as the day drew on. She hoped she would be as calm when it was her turn to talk.

The council excused Alice and thanked her for her time. She was glad to be back in her seat next to Jenny. Amy answered the door to their little seating area.

"Lunch time." Amy said and helped the other puppet carry their lunch in.

"Jenny ordered for you yesterday." Sherman said and thanked the other girl for bringing them something to eat.

"If I hadn't you would have been stuck with something containing meat. So I got you a BLT minus the bacon with cheese." Jenny said.

"Thanks." Alice said and could see they were rather happy to have meat piled high on their sandwiches. It was interesting to watch Nodrog and Nightrunner interact with the members of the council. It was rather clear neither of them were thrilled about it. Alice couldn't really blame them considering the reason for them being here.

At the end of the lunch break they watched as another elf walked onto the floor followed by a dozen armed soldiers. "So those are the hunters..." Amy said.

"Hunters?" Jenny asked. She figured the female elf was Eitak.

"I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I believe they are a mix of cop and solder." Amy said.

"They are also judge and jury." Pang Zsu said as he took the empty seat next to Sherman.

"I am guessing we now will hear what happened that night." Sherman said.

"From all three sides, but isn't someone missing?" Jenny asked.

"Lilith. I do not know if she will be allowed to speak even if she is here." Pang Zsu said.

"That doesn't seem right." Amy said as she crossed her arms.

"It might not be right, but it could be for her own safety. She is part of the reason that we are here." Pang Zsu said.

Pang Zsu could do a better job translating for them as Eitak, and the Hunters recounted the night. Nightrunner and Nodrog only agreed with what they said, after all many in the room could read minds so lying did no good.

A little commotion outside drew everyone's attention to the door that the hunters had come in from. The door was thrown open and Lilith stormed out onto the floor. "Don't I get a say in this matter?"

The older of the elves banged on the table with a gavel. "Order, order! What is the meaning behind this interruption?"

Nightrunner motioned her to come over to him. He should have expected the outburst.

"Who is that?" Alice asked.

"Just wait, Nightrunner will explain." Pang Zsu said with a chuckle.

Nightrunner whispered in her ear and she just nodded yes. "Very well. Ladies and gentlemen of the council and those attending. May I introduce you to Lilith Prerx, the one who betrayed the iron dragon."

Alice couldn't believe it and felt sorry for the girl as the crowd and the council roared in laughter. Not a soul offered an objection or question it, they just laughed at the little elf. She knew the girl was at least as old as Nodrog, but she was so small.

"Are you trying to insult us, Nightrunner? That little girl could not harm a insect." The dragon at the center of the table said loudly.

"It is true, every bit of it." Nodrog said.

"Explain yourself iron dragon. There is no way that girl could ever harm you." The male fairy said. The rest of the council and those around the room agreed with him.

"You are correct councilman, and actually there are none here that could cause me great harm." Nodrog sneered. He then walked over to Lilith and placed a hand on her shoulder. "The reason she succeeded when so many had failed, is because I let her. I could have consumed her soul just as I had the man she loved. But I didn't. I could have done any number of unspeakable things to her. But I didn't."

"Why would you let something like that happen?" The younger elf at the table asked.

"Because I deserved it. Is that not right?" Nodrog said coldly. That caused another uproar of yelling and shouting. He looked down at Lilith. "This is the second time you should have stayed away from me."

"You protected me from Eitak and the council. I thought I should try and do the same for you." Lilith said softly. She spotted Alice and Jenny in the crowd. "So those are the two?"

"They are." Nodrog said as he followed her gaze up to the pair.

"They must be special if they have gotten you. I'm a bit jealous." Lilith said as they tried to calm down the crowd.

"That they are." Nodrog said as the shouting seemed to be quieting down. "I do hope this won't cause you any problems."

"I doubt that, after this last outburst." Nightrunner said as they still argued.

"I give up, you are right brother, this is a waste of time." Eitak said.

"You admit loss, this really is an interesting day." Nodrog said with a sly smile.

"I was just doing my job." Eitak said flatly.

"I know." Nodrog said and they all turned to the bear who had finally gotten the crowd to settle down.

"You have some rather staunch supporters and friends Nodrog. However it is time for you to show us what you really are." The bear said and the crowd murmured in the back ground.

"I object!" Nightrunner shouted. "For the safety of both the council and those attending this..." Nightrunner was interrupted.

"We had all ready thought of that, there is magic to protect us all in place." The male fairy said.

"We know he has a tremendous amount of it from Ellie." The female fairy said.

"I would step back Lilith." Nodrog eyed those on the council. "You did ask, remember that."

Lilith retreated to Nightrunner's side as the heat coming off of him increased greatly. Unlike the first time they had seen it, this release was more controlled. A hush fell over the crowd and council as the radiated heat caused steam to come from his body.

Alice and Jenny held hands as the heat waves cause parts of him to blur. His metal wings relaxed and hung lower at his sides as the black leather wings stretched up and out. The blue glow coming from his eyes was eerie, as was the smoke that came from every slow breath. "That's more like a reactor going critical then magic." Jenny said as they now felt the heat.

"You two didn't happen to bring a giger counter with you?" Sherman asked as he began to sweat. They just shook their heads no. He could see the fear in the eyes of many monster here. Now he knew why, but unlike them, he was still not afraid.

"So this is what Nightrunner was talking about. Interesting, and answers so much." Pang Zsu said.

"Does this satisfy your curiosity?" Nodrog tried not to show that the panic made him happy.

"I believe it does. Nightrunner, do you have any more who would speak on his behalf?" The only human at the table asked.

"I do, in fact I have two more normals and a puppet." Nightrunner said as the heat and magic slowly faded from Nodrog.

"Puppet?" Alice asked.

"He is referring to me, Alice. I am not a real person. Pang Zsu created me and gave me life." Amy said cheerfully.

"Still he could have said golem, or artificial person. Puppet is such a crude term for you." Pang Zsu said.

"You can call on only one of the three. That will conclude this investigation into the betrayal of the iron dragon." The dragon said.

Nodrog was wondering who he would pick. He knew Nightrunner had asked Jenny and Sherman some questions. Alice and Pang Zsu had all ready spoken. He and Sherman had saved a lot of people, but he knew Jenny trusted him...

"Very well, Jenny, I know you have something to say on the matter." Nightrunner said.

"I get the feeling this might have been planned." Sherman whispered to Alice.

"You're not the only one. She told me they had talked about something for a report, so this must have something to do with that." Alice said.

Alice and Sherman watched as Jenny recounted a number of things from the time the three had been together. She told them again about how he protecting them from Dave. They could see Jenny blushing as she told them about how she was the one to start the physical part of the three's relationship.

Jenny was calmer now then she had been when making her first report to the department heads by herself. As they continued to ask questions she could tell they still had their doubts. That was why despite being told not to, she still had her pocket knife with her.

"That will be all, you may return to your seat." The older elf said calmly.

"No, its not all. You don't believe me do you?" Jenny said in a frustrated tone.

"We understand you care deeply about him..." Jenny interrupted the old elf.

"It's not just feelings damn it!" Jenny yelled.

"What would a normal know anyways?" Either Bigfoot or some kind of yeti asked smugly.

"Please return to your seat." The bear said.

"Not until you take me seriously. I can prove it right here and now in front of all of you." Jenny said loudly. She didn't calm down when Nodrog put his hand on her shoulder.

"It will be okay Jenny." Nodrog said.

"It's not okay because no one believes me!" Jenny yelled and pulled from his grip. "Not even you..." She said softly. It really was going to come down to that she thought as she reached in her left hip pocket and pulled out her pocket knife. She took two steps away from him and Nightrunner .

"You are trying our patients young lady." The bear said.

With that Jenny thumbed open the knife, held up her right arm and cut herself. The room was dead silent as she made a deep and nearly 3 inch long incision across her forearm. She then raised it up in the air so everyone could see the blood running out of the wound and down her arm. The crybaby Jenny didn't make a peep even though it hurt like hell, she even kept the tears back as she walked back over to Nodrog.

"Drink my blood, right now in front of everyone and god." Jenny said loudly as she held her now bloody arm out just inches from his mouth. It dripped off the knife in her left hand and her right arm onto the ground.

The smell was driving all of the flesh eaters crazy as they all watched Nodrog shake his head and refuse. "You know I can't."

"Yes you can." Jenny said, the pain starting to get too her. She moaned softly as he gave in and gently licked the blood from her arm. She turned and faced the council. Her own face flushed from the odd pleasure that she was getting from this. "Do you believe me now. Do you understand how completely I trust him. Despite what all of you say!"

Nodrog quit licking and placed a hand over the wound to heal it like he had with Alice's gunshot wound. He was surprised himself how easy it was to stop. Still it was a line he had hoped to never cross. Jenny stood defiantly in front of him, the blood he had not licked up slowly dripping from her arm as it began to dry. He glance up at a shocked and teary eyed Alice.

Jenny felt Nightrunner put a hand on her shoulder now. "I think that is the most convincing argument I have ever seen. A bit foolish, but I have no doubt in my mind."

"Foolish is something I excel at." Jenny said. As the council and the crowd murmured in the back ground. She had proven her point and no one could argue against it.

"Very well, this matter is now closed and the meeting adjourned." The dragon said and those at the council table made their way off the floor.

Lilith and Eitak came over to them. "I have never seen someone so willingly cut themselves open in front of so many blood drinkers. What were you thinking?" Eitak asked.

"I cry when I get a paper cut, and you didn't even flinch." Lilith said.

"In any case this matter will be settled. No one should bother Nodrog or Lilith from this point forward." Nightrunner said.

"I think you shouldn't make a habit of doing crazy things to help anyone anymore." Alice said as they walked over to them. "You scared the hell out of me."

"I have to agree with Alice, a little less crazy. Or maybe a little warning before hand." Sherman said with a light chuckle.

"I think its time to go home. We still have a race victory to celebrate." Nodrog said.

"Agreed, the beer isn't going to drink itself." Sherman said.

Nightrunner lead them back to the room and called Azule. Nodrog waited for everyone else to pass through first. "I hope this has closed the rest of my past. I am tired of reliving it."

"I am sure it has. Don't keep your friends waiting." Nightrunner said.
