Unexpected Gathering Part 1

With all that happened it wasn't hard to fall asleep again, Megan was glansing at me once the two of use woke up, she tried to hide her fear of what I'm actually capible of. We needed to get going and try not to worry about that basterd.

"Okay guys. It's night, rise and shin." I called to the rest of the pack to wake them up.

Everyone slowly came out of their sleep. Once everyone was up we were getting ready to continue.

"Hey where's Jake?" Roxanne asked.

"He's gone." I didn't want to worry anyone or delay the time we travel.

"What happened?" Roxanne was just stood there trying to get all her questions answered.

"Well..." I looked over at Meg and she knodded, to tell me to tell them what happened. "Well Jake and I got into an arguement."

"About what?"

"It's a long story."

"We've got all night." Jeff backed Roxanne up on the converation.

"No we don't." I really didn't want to mention the whole episode I had with Jake.

"We're not going any where till we know what happened." Now AJ was pushing me too.

"Okay okay. What happened was..." I just couldn't tell them without thinking of what I would say first, cause they might think i was the bad guy. "We got into an arguement about traveling at night, and we just started arguing about everything else and then he started to get aggresive and-"

"Waitwaitwait, what all were you guys arguing about?" Jeff tried to get all the details.

"God I can't remember uhh traveling, The Starlight, everything."

"Like what?"

"His blood, his dad, Megan."

"Okay what about his dad, he said he died a long time ago."

"Yea am i-I was the wolf that killed him." I lowered my head in regret.

"What?!? But you only met him a few days ago."

"It was when I was 10, he and his dad where traveling throught the territory, and it was when my dad took me hunting for the first time, when I fisrt use The Starlight."

"So you used it snapped and killed his dad?"

"Yea that's the just of it."

"Okay and then what?"

"He got really upset and started yelling that he just had to have revenge and become the Alpha, but I tried to explain we don't have one."

"Oh... okay, I guess we can go now I've heard all I wanted to hear."

We started walking through a forest and on one of our breaks Jeff pulled me aside.

"Zak you-you used The Starlight againest Jake didn't you?"

"Yea he pravoked me."

"Okay seriouslly what did he do to you?"

"Look Jeff I really don't want to talk about this."

"I know that's why I'm asking you have to at least let me know."

I looked arounf to make sure the others couldn't hear us. "*sigh* Okay, When I remembered killing Jake's dad, he got really pissed off and freaked out, he attacked me and for some reason when I went into The Starlight I-I could control myself, it felt like I could do any thing, like I had no limites. And then he said that he would kill me and them Megan, I lashed out and bite some fleash off his right leg. While he was starting to slow down I tried to hit him with my paw, but he dodged and I cut his muzzle, then when it was all over he begged for his life I-I couldn't just kill him in cold blood."

"Why you've done it before." I lowered my head in regret. "Uh Zak what I meant was..."

"I-it's okay."

"Wow i can't believe you did that."

"He got what he deserved."

"I guess you're right."

We walked back to others and I expected them to ask why we talked in private, but Meg just looked at us and carried on walking, I was worried. She's never seen me hurt anyone before, but I just hope she understands.

"All right let's go." We needed to get as far as possible tonight so that we don't loose too much ground.

As we were walking I notice Meg staring at me out the corner of my eye.

"If you want to ask something just ask Meg, I'm gonna freak out." We were all the way at the back of the pack so no one could hear or see us talkng

"Why did you lie to me. I know you were contous about what you did Jake."

"Meg, y-you wouldn't understand."

"Than make me understand!" Meg yelled out and everybody just turned and looked at us.

I-I had to tell Meg why I fought Jake but I was hoping to keep it a secret from everyone else."I-I had to fight him and kick him out."

"Why!!!" She was enraged, I don't blame her, but...

"Meg he wanted to kill us! What was I suppose to do just let him, I tried talking to him, it didn't work. He was nothing but a monster."

"Well he's not worse The Starlight." I just froze I can't believe Meg just said that.

"M-Meg" I couldn't speek.

"Meg relax Jake was just angry." Jeff tried to explain, "From what Zak told me Jake was looking for revenge, nothing but, he wanted Zak to feel alone so he planned to kill you and when Zak was miserible he would've killed him next."

"Did you see what Zak did while he was in contol of The Starlight."

"No and I don't want to. Meg the reason why Zak hurt and fought Jake was to protect you."

"He was a friend!"

Then I just snapped. "MEG SHUT UP YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S LIKE TO BE IN THAT SITUATION WHERE IT'S KILL OR BE KILLED. THE ONLY REASON I LET JAKE GO WAS BECAUSE I WANTED HIM TO DIE SLOWLY!!!"

"You know what, Zak, you've changed in the past four years, changed for the worst."

"Well I'm sorry I faced reality Meg, having a bloodthursty demon inside you isn't as simple as you all might think, I have to keep my self saine everyday hoping it won't come out and kill one you!!!"

"Zak I understand that it's just-"

"No Meg you don't understand if you did we wouldn't be having this arguement!"

"BOTH OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" Roxanne screamed. "Zak we know you're going through a lot with loosing Alex and all-"

"This has nothing to do with him!"

"Just let me finish! With loosing Alex and leaving the pack twice and hurting two friends and breaking Meg's heart."

"I-I never mean to do any of it, it's just how my life goes thing always go wrong."

"Not always you might think that but we're all still here for you Zak, till the very end."

"Thank Roxanne." I then looked at Meg and started crying. "I-I'm sorry Meg, I never should have shouted at you or hurt Jake, I'm so, so sorry."

"Zak I'm the one who should be apologizing. I just got freaked at seeing you perposelly try and kill someone."

Meg and I hugged

"How did you do that?" Jeff asked Roxanne.

"They just love each other so much all they need is someone to just explain the situation."

"Wow you're really good at that." Jeff kissed Roxanne with a huge blush.

"Well I try." She said with a giggle.

I looked at the whole pack "Okay guys from here on out if something tries to hurt us we protect no matter the cost. deal?"

"Deal." Everyone agreed.

"A.J where do we go from here to get to the valley?"

"Uh we need to pass that ridge first. Then walk for about 20 more minutes." He said looking at a flat grass plan that ended with a series of hills

"Alright. Everybody ready to head out?"

Everyone nodded in agreement.

We all followed A.J to the ridge just to be sure we where heading the right direction. We could barley see due to the tall grass land, I felt the wind pass through the grass and causing a beautiful free scent of dew, you could almost smell the peace in this place.

As I took one big breath I caught the scent of something. Faint, but definitely there. It was the scent of blood, hunger, and-and me? just as I turned to the direction of the source I saw this gold and silver flash past me and it stopped in front of A.J. When he stopped all I saw was my pattern on his body, but it was silver instead of grey. Then we were surrounded by three other figures the one that was in front of me looked exactlly like me just gold not silver. The wolf on me left was just plain silver and the one on my right was just plain gold.

"You Zak?" asked the wolf infront of me.

"Yea, why?"

"We're here to 'escort' you to our Alpha." I'm sure I saw him crinch on the last word.

"And who would that be?" I just hopping it isn't Jake.

"Our Alpha's name is of no consern to you."

"Well it is if he wants to see me."

"His name is Jake."
