This is just the first two and some of the 3rd chapter of my upcoming novel THAT I NEED A TITLE FOR.

The sun was shining bright overhead, showering its warm rays of sunshine down on Tom and his classmates. Tom was relatively fit, medium height with sparkling blue eyes and a dazzling personality. "Hey guys, you think I can get Timmy's sandwich in the garbage?" He said as he looked over at Timothy over at the snack table. "Go for it, Tom!" yelled John, Tom's best friend. The whole launch table started silent chanting, and Tom picked up the sandwich, and made an exaggerated attempt to resemble an NBA player. The sandwich came in with a tumble. "Tom sit down! Tim's coming!" yelled Drew in a hushed voice. Everyone turned still and became as casual as possible; Tim sat down at the table to see a handful of kids gleaming at him. "Hi, Tim," said Matt. Tim glanced over at his now empty lunch container and then at Tom, who was barely hiding a smirk. "Tom! You imbecile!" The whole lunch table erupted into laughter, but Tim didn't look too happy. "Tom, I'm telling the teacher on you!" Tom stopped laughing and looked him into the eyes and said, "You sir, are the most childish and the least self-dependent person I've ever met," All around again, his friends burst into laughter, and this time, Tim looked over at Tom's friends, "How can you be friends with such an unintelligent, imbecilic, arrogant, ignorant, sad excuse for a boy!?" A whistling sound started piercing through the air, getting louder and louder. Everyone stopped and looked up. A piece of debris the size of the cafeteria was headed straight for them. "TIM, LOOK OUT!" The rock crashed, sending bits and pieces toward them. "TIM NO!" Tim wasn't moving from his spot. From just then he spotted the danger. A fifty-foot wide side-piece of the rock was about to land on him. Tom ran. "TOM NO! DON'T LEAVE ME TOM! DON'T LE-" his cries were ended, and a thundering clump settled it

Tom barely was able to escape the rock that ended Tim, and many others in the lunch room were injured. Tom looked around to see if any of his friends made out of the rubble, and surely enough, Matt, John, Drew, Emily and Katherine, Tom's best friends, were all lying on the floor, only a few feet away from the massive rock that almost took them out. Tom hurried over to Matt. "Matt what just happened!" Tom could hear more thuds and banging as more rocks flew in from the sky and tore the building down more and more. Matt looked at Tom and shouted "You'll know in a matter of time, Tom!" Tom gave a confused glance at Matt, and they say John, Drew and Emily in a group huddled near the door. "Come on Matt!" Tom yelled well getting up with some effort. They both crouch-ran to the small group, when groups of men started bustling through the holes in the walls and the entrances. They were all hiding behind a big piece of fallen debris, when Emily started the conversation. "We have to get out of here, guys!" Matt turned around and replied with, "No dip, Sherlock. Anything else you guys have just figured out?" Drew looked over the ruble. "Well Matt, we're being stormed in by the Empire, and they have guns too." Drew said that with an impish grin. Another whistle sounded and a loud thud and crash, followed with several loud screams of agony. "Guys no mean to burst your strategic bubble here, but we're sort of being attacked!" They all looked at him like they knew something he didn't. "Guys! We need to get out of this school! Now!" They all nodded with agreement, but a man carrying a large, gleaming rifle had different plans for them. "Hey, you six! Get over here, now!" Yelled the man, pointing the shiny rifle in their faces. He ushered them to a wall, and then found more kids and brought them over to the same place. "And no talking!" he yelled at them, giving a final wave of his gun. The men went over to a tall, dark figure at the back of the room and started talking. The hooded figure then reached for a bullhorn, and said, "I want to know where a student of the name, 'Thomas Revere' is? Show up now, or have all your friends be taken out." A sudden eruption of gunshots sounded outside of the school, and Tom guessed the police were finally here. Katherine was starting to mumble under her breathe. "Filthy little dog.." The hooded man heard her. "Oh boy, we have someone that thinks they can stand against me. What type of death do you wish? Painful, or extra painful?" He said, in a calm yet crazed voice. He started towards her, first at a slow pace but then at almost a run. He was about a hundred feet away when he spoke again, "If you wish, girl, you can have The Leader deal with you instead. I'm not even close to his skill," he said, rounding up on Katherine. "Too bad girl, you're such a pretty one." He opened his cloak to reveal a sharp and gleaming dagger. "Time to say goodbye..." He raised his dagger, and thrust down, and a thump followed.

But it wasn't Kate that fell. The hooded man slumped to the floor, and several gunshots sounded right outside the cafeteria. The soldiers aimed at the kids and started firing. The kids scurried away like rats, giving Tom's group some time to hide. But they weren't quick enough. An exceptionally tall man found them. "Are one of you Thomas Revere?" he said, with a look of mad in his eyes. Tom raised his hand. "Come with me, you foolish child!" Tom got up, and Drew followed. "'Ey, kid, sit back down, before you get hurt." The soldier said, with a hint of irritation. Drew looked up at him and said, "Nah, I think you should instead," and he held out his arm and a bright, blue light started bursting through his hand. Then something started coming out. Water. The water started flowing out at a medium pace, but turned into a flowing rapid, engulfing the soldier before he knew what hit him. He was being slowly pushed back, until Drew summoned a large wave of water, ten feet high, completely taking the soldier, and crashing without further sight of him. Matt shot a burst of flames from his palms, while Emily and Kat and John were summoning what looked like rock, fire, and water to create a large wave of energy. Tom was watching in bewilderment, as more and more soldiers came in through the walls to face the wrath of the five kids. A sudden eruption of light from the opposite side of the wall appeared, followed by men and women wearing tattered and beat up clothes and were grimy to the skin. They started to aim with their arms, just like Matt, John, Drew, Emily and Kat did. And surely enough, things like fire, water, and rocks came out. A particularly muscular man spotted them, and hurried over. "How you guys holding up?" he yelled, shooting a burst of flames at an ongoing enemy soldier. John answered, "Well you know, we're just being attacked by almost all of the Empire!" The man was medium height, big, strong arms and had a nice, sympathetic face. He looked over at Tom. "My name's Derick, but that doesn't matter right now, what matters is that we get you out of here!" he said finishing off with a yell, and again shooting a burst of fire at someone. "Just keep low, Tom!" he yelled, moving out from under the cover. Matt, John, Drew, Emily and Kat followed. Tom went last, ducking and sprinting as fast as he could to wherever he was being led. When Derick finally stopped moving, they were with the other beaten up adults. It was a fire fight; The soldiers versus the men and women with the special ability. "Tom, follow us!" Derick yelled, running from the hole in the wall to a large black and smeary van." Get in, get in!" he screamed, having the other men and women get in too. "Hold on!" he screamed as the tires screeched, and they got out from the battlefield. Just then, a thunderous boom shook the school grounds, and Tom looked back to spot a glance of his school crumbling into pieces as they drove off. Tom looked at his friends. "Well, you could say that school just got," he paused and looked behind him. "Waved out..." They all drove off together, leaving that horror behind.
