#2 of The Anthrotransformers

Aaron starts his first training day but he will experience something unpleasant.

A quarter had passed since he departed with his Master so he had plenty of time to train his ability to control the length of time of his current transformation. The first few training rooms where fully occupied and when he peeked in through the little window each training door had he saw in each room 5 anthros, all in activity to exhaust themselves to shorten the length of time in their humanoid form. The meaning of it was to focus the ability in the last few minutes of the approximate remaining time (every anthro could feel when the form was about to expire), to try to lengthen the time by sheer will through the exhaustion that was supposed to make it more difficult and therefore more rewarding. Aaron didn't need to see what training materials the anthros used for his Master had already trained him and with him with the materials for about a week before they joined the special force, CAF, therefore he was able to be in humanoid form in at least 2 hours and about 3 hours at its maximum.

He finally found a training room that wasn't fully occupied and the exhaustion already began when he had to open and shut the door for the door was heavy as hell and the door had to be pushed aside. It was commonly known as 'warm-up entrance' or 'combustion door'. The door also had a smaller door which was used when the training was over and the anthro had to go to the cells for rest without using much strength to open it. As he entered the room he found out that the temperature was way lower than the cells or the corridors which he didn't know about at the first place but he knew it was for the training, for the exhaustion. He took a short look in the room before he walked to an area that was free for exercise and what he could see out of the corner of the eye he saw there were 2 male lynxes and a female raccoon. "Just be friendly at them and nothing more" said his wolf side. "You are an anthro like all the others so there's no need to be like that" argued his canine side. Aaron always had an inner conflict of if he should be social or not with anthros who weren't a wolf as base being. He began to use the exercise materials; the first he began with was the normal looking treadmill where the difference between an ordinary treadmill and this treadmill, which was specially made for anthrotransformers, was that the 'road' that the treadmill gave had always different forms and obstacles each round it took, made it far more exhausting than the human treadmill. "So, you're new here, I guess" said the female raccoon, all puffed and breathed fast for air. "Just nod and continue the training" growled the wolf. "There's a reason that Master James taught you to tolerate other anthros other than wolves, use it wisely instead of throwing the opportunity away" continued the canine side. This time the canine side won the conflict so he did more than just nodding: "Yeah, my name's Aaron and my Master is named James. What..." he got interrupted by the generated high stone he had to climb over "... about you?" "Name's Zoey..." she paused when she had to do a pushup with heavy friendly body shaped weights on her back and legs "... and I joined the army for about two weeks ago, right boys?" she made her voice louder when she said the last part, as a shout out to the lynxes. Aaron viewed them shortly and they both nodded to her answer, the one lifted his hand briefly and the other one raised his hand to his head as a salute sign then they both continued their climbing exercise. "Popular with the boys, huh, Zoey?" Asked Aaron and just jumped over a smaller generated rock. "Always been, sweetie, and my Master, who's named Anya, is no different" replied Zoey, blinked with one eye and took another pushup. For a raccoon she was strong. Usually raccoons were often used for stealth missions therefore needed to be light and quick as possible. Her body shape was stronger looking than average trained female but she was still really attractive. He wondered what her story was compared to his own. "Now, let's concentrate about our training, shall we?" She exclaimed even though it was more of a command than a question. Zoey finished her pushup training and apparently proceeded to the last part of each training which was to prolong the humanoid form as long as possible and it could be seen because she sat down, laid her tail on her bosom and closed her eyes, focused and concentrated. Aaron looked at her briefly through the prolonging and after 7 minutes she began to show signs of slow regression of the transformation; her hands began to resemble more and more raccoon paws, her head got smaller like her body and her legs changed forms to a raccoon's. When she turned into her base form the lynxes paused their training and asked at the same time: "How much better was it this time, Zoey?" Zoey gave two pats on the floor and nodded to the lynxes and the lynxes replied with following: "Nice going, Zoey!" Apparently the pats represented the minutes she managed to prolong more than last time and the nod was a confirmation of what she did. She left the room through the smaller door and the lynxes returned to their former doing; pulled heavy weights out of the wall.

Aaron began to feel a bit warmed up after a quarter had passed, he was in a really good shape after all, both physically and mentally, so he took the next step which was the climbing part. Like the treadmill it generated random surfaces and hindrances. He did feel the difference between training under normal temperature and this temperature; it was harder since his body had to use energy to generate heat for even though the humanoid form had fur it was not as thick as the animal and beast form. Under the training he found out that the lynxes were twins and served the military as trio partners with their Master. "Quite unusual but nice" thought Aaron when he got that informed. When he took a closer look it was obvious for they had exactly same tuned body, voices and action, like they were synchronized to every detail. A female anthro who was popular with the boys and twin brothers had a same Master; sure this couldn't get weirder, thought Aaron through the training progress.

This turn-out went quite well for this squad which had the purpose to secretly plant several wireless microphones in some local telephones and extract little information from the local computers in the southern outer part of the invaded country Henoaia. His military duty and transformation exercise both progressed really well and if it continued a bit further like this he would soon be out of the Novices and Recruits building and proceed to next division; Newcomers and Jr. Soldiers. This anthrotransformer was called Rufus, a German shepherd and had a Master named Christian Williams Jr. who patted on Rufus' back as a sign of satisfaction as they walked back to the base of Commando of Anthrotransformation Force after their flight home on the stealth military hybrid plane Green Bomber. "You should soon start on your training to learn the Beast form, Rufus" encouraged Christian "This war is quite good as a goal for becoming something greater than before" "Indeed it is, Master," agreed Rufus "but we have to end it sooner or later because the world is down at its knees after the years of bombing with nuclear"

Many places on the Earth which had a tactical influence on the 3rd World War, both on the allies' and enemy's site, have been eliminated and made inhabitable due to the radioactivity, resulted by the bombing with nuclear. Tactical influence could be following: weapon industry, minerals, food supplies, nature energy (like windmills and solar energy catchers) and few military bases which hadn't been enough protected. Not only did the humans suffered great losses on both sites, it also hit the animals who happened to live at the places where bombs had exploded. There had been rumors about animals who could anthrotransform without fulfilling all the needs but it was quite unlikely since there were basic rules for Anthrotransformation even though there had been taken images and pictures of them from locals and from the satellites from the sky. The general Science connected these 'pseudo-anthrotransformers', as they were called, with the radioactive places, said the radioactivity resulted a reaction in their bodies and minds and made them able to transform. Whether it was true or not was yet to be confirmed but the Science on both sides claimed it to be right.

"Master," Rufus was not tall as Christian since Christian happened to be pretty tall compared to his other comrades so Rufus looked up to his Master's face and continued "do you think it might be a gift from her Goddess Helva herself to these victims of the War?" Rufus had followed the way of the Sapianity since he came to know of it. "Don't be ridiculous, Rufus, it's just a result of the nuclear bombing, nothing else" replied Christian and sounded a bit irritated since Rufus did ask the same question several times in disguise and this time it was straight to the point "Don't think so much about it, my companion, just focus on the training and see if you can sense if the Beast form approaches to you" Rufus was a bit peeved that his own Master was the one who introduced Sapianity to him but he didn't follow the way as himself. Rufus let it go, sighed and said: "Yes, Master, I'll try my best. Besides, I have about a half hour left of my humanoid form so I'll go to my usual training room straight away and progress the training"

After their depart ritual Rufus went to the Novices and Recruits building, went through some corridors and found his usual training room. But there was ruckus which came from the room and when he saw through the window he saw the two anthros, one in animal form and one in humanoid form, fought each other and the humanoid seemed to give the animal a really hard time. Rufus quickly forced the door to wide open and both fighters stopped their doing and looked over to the entrance to see who it was. "What's going on here?" asked Rufus calmly but strict. "This anthro just attacked me for no reason!" puffed the wolf looking animal. "He's training on MY area!" shouted the reptile looking anthro "So he needs to be punished, no other options!" "No training room is owned by a specific anthro, reptile..." "I'M THE POSSIBLE NEXT RULER OF LIZARDS, YOU IDIOT, AND I'M A HENOAIAN DRAGON AND NOT JUST A SIMPLE REPTILE!" Shouted the dragon loudly, all offended.

"Another possible ruler? I thought that Apollo was the only one" thought Aaron briefly after he could take a breath in a moment of ease when the German shepherd came in and luckily interrupted the fight. "Another... huff... arrogant reptile just like..." puffed Aaron. "Apollo?" finished the dragon "So you have met him. Hmph! Like that sorry excuse ever could be the true ruler of the Lizardssss" the dragon laughed menacingly "Now, where were we?" The dragon showed claws and looked threatening at Aaron, hissed "Punishment!" and before Aaron could ready himself the dragon made a jumping move towards Aaron. Right in the last millisecond Aaron was able to dodge the assault but the training made him exhausted so he nearly collapsed after he landed on his paws and puffed for air. "Enough!" exclaimed the German shepherd and went between Aaron and the dragon "There's absolutely no reason to attack a tired ally anthro, dragon! He's probably new here and didn't know about so called 'your' training area. Now go to your own room or I'll report this to the higher staffs!"

Both his inner sides were happy that a soul would help him with this situation even though that the wolf side didn't show much appreciation as the canine did but both argued either if Aaron should let himself lie down or stay up; he didn't want to shame his own honor and give the satisfaction to the dragon but at the same time he was tired to Hell in every muscle.

"Fine! Have it you way, insignificant dog!" hissed the dragon and stepped closer to the shepherd "Next time I'll get what I want!" The dragon gave 'drop dead' sights at both Aaron and the shepherd and finally left the room, closed the door with a giant clash which echoed through the corridors. When the dragon finally went out of sight, Aaron let himself fall down, closed his eyes and tried to ease his breathing, shortly forgot the presence of the shepherd. "I won't let him win next time" thought Aaron for himself "Another reason to train the transformation ability" "Are you okay?" asked the shepherd. When Aaron opened his eyes again he saw that the shepherd was down on one knee and one hand while the other hand lied on the bowed knee. Even his canine site was a bit embarrassed to find himself being helped by a complete stranger who's smaller than himself and therefore didn't answer the question and looked away. "It doesn't seem you got some serious bruises though, but you need some rest. Where do you reside, wolf? Just pat the room number on the floor" This question had to be answered, thought Aaron but he didn't look at his fellow anthro while he patted 7 times. He heard an "Okay, got it" and felt he got lifted up by controlled arms. "By the way, wolf, my name's Rufus and it was quite lucky that you trained in that room for that's also my usual training room or else it could have turned quite grim" He tried to ignore what he said as much as possible for reasons he didn't know; maybe because of his pride. Aaron thought the worst was over but he was dead wrong: When they both entered the section with the rooms and when the other anthros saw that he got carried they began to speak ill of him and laughed low, few pointed at him (or them) and made jokes of them being together. Aaron rasped at the harming anthros and felt a lot more embarrassed than before and wanted to hide, didn't care where. He didn't hear the ones who got worried about them but that might be because the majority already began to mock them and were afraid of getting mocked themselves, thus kept themselves quite. When they came inside the room 7 Aaron saw that the malamute was in humanoid form and went immediately to see if Aaron was fine. "He's fine, exhausted but fine" stated Rufus "few small bruises so a night rest would do it. Which bed is his?" "The left one, buddy" answered Max a bit worried. Rufus nodded and gently placed Aaron on the bed. "Please take care of him" asked Rufus. "As if royal blood is not more important" snapped Apollo out of nowhere and hissed lowly. "Are you Apollo?" Rufus looked sharp at the salamander who leant up against the wall with crossed arms. "And what if I am, canine?" it was like a taunt but Rufus remained collected and calm, said: "You and that dragon from..." "Henoaia? So, you two have met my half-brother? Hiss, hiss, hisssss. It must have been quite unpleasssant" Apollo walked closer to Rufus and Max "Like I care for any of you, especially my idiotic relative who thinks it can beat me in the trials. That'sss not going to happen!" "I'll leave the wolf to you" he nodded to Max "and keep this reptile from him" "Apollo have at least respect for the tired or weak ones so don't think about it, buddy" explained Max and laid his hands on his waist. Apollo gave an irritated sound, closed his eyes and walked back to wall only to lean against it again with crossed arms.

After Max and Rufus exchanged few words and Rufus went away, Aaron tried to find sleep, which he eventually did but the ill talk around him kept him awake for about 10 minutes, mocked his pride. Aaron really wanted to thank the German shepherd Rufus but two things kept him from doing it; the animal form and his hesitation, which the two sides didn't conjured but felt the same way. He predicted that the next day wouldn't be that pleasant either which was not the rightful prediction.
