#10 of Armageddon [Abandoned, superseded by Acolytes of the Apocalypse]

A new Pokemon series I've decided to write, depicting a human named Richard, who finds a Sneasel that agrees to be his Pokemon. This is a story about their survival in a series of devastating natural disasters. Will they have the courage and strength to survive the impending Armageddon? Only time will tell.

Hey there! This is a new series that I'll be writing, called "Armageddon"! It's a Pokémon story; some scenes in this story may be slightly disturbing to some readers. There will also be a few 'suggestive' scenes as well. However, those will be very few and far between. For a lot of reasons, this story is going to be focused on plot development for the most part. Also, keep in mind that I am not the most knowledgeable about Pokémon, so excuse any spelling errors or mistakes in the naming of certain places, items, etc.

Pokémon™ is intellectual property of Nintendo© and Game Freak, Inc. respectively.

Here is some information about the story format:

Armageddon: Chapter 8 - "Divide"

"Sir, the weapon has been tweaked to your specifications!"

"Fantastic! Bring it in."

"... I'm comin', I'm comin'."

"...Fucking hell this thing is heavy..."

"Set it on the table. I want you to come over here and... observe a little something that may cause our current stagnant ratings to increase exponentially!"

*CLANK!*

"..."

"Drop it like that again, and it'll be off with your head..."

"M-my apologies, sir."

"..."

"You're lucky that I'm in a good mood today."

"Why is that, sir?"

"See for yourself."

"..."

"Is that...?"

"It is."

"You actually captured them?!"

"Indeed. It looks like they are having some sort of conflict. Do you understand how much that can benefit the show?"

"I do, sir."

"Hmm... seems to be video only. Establish an audio feed with camera 4W70."

"..."

*click* "Audio feed established."

"...I've got a good feeling about this."

"So, what you are saying is that you are just going to ignore how I've felt this entire time?!" Mia exclaimed, gritting her teeth.

"No, no, no! It's not like that at all! It's just... not meant to be. I can't see why you are irritated about it not being a possibility." Richard said carefully.

"I'm not irritated about it not being a possibility..." Mia chided. "I'm irritated because you deny yourself the ability to at least acknowledge it!"

Richard tilted his head slightly while giving her a bewildered expression. "What's the difference?" He asked calmly.

"You are impossible!" Mia shouted in frustration. "The writing has been on the wall ever since you've been shot in the chest! Yet, you've denied it until you just couldn't anymore, which leads us to here and now!" She exclaimed while outstretching her arms and waving them in erratic motions.

Richard took in a deep breath while subtly shaking his head, and then slowly crouched to meet her at eye level. "Mia, I care about you, I really do... but..."

Mia pressed her claws against Richard's chest to silence him. "Enough beating around the bush." She stated in a tone leaving no room for a retort. "Tell me how you really feel." She continued, her breath becoming a little shaky. "But... I want you to hear me out, first."

Richard slowly nodded. Proceeding to stare on in silence.

Mia's gaze shifted onto the ground for a moment, her golden irises making swift and seemingly desperate movements. She sighed, trying to regain her composure. She could not let her determination falter. It was either all-in, or nothing at all.

Not only that, but this was certainly something worth fighting for.

"...During this time we've been traveling together... through all of the pain, happiness, and depression... I've grown fond of you." She murmured while still gazing at the ground directly in front of her.

Richard raised an eyebrow, the look on his face showing he was already fairly certain as to where this was going.

"But, it's much more complex than that." Mia continued. "I haven't felt this... secure, in years. Even when I was with my parents! You've provided me with a new outlook on such a bleak life." Mia paused while trying to form more words in her mind. Her expression was one of pure sincerity, and all but dismal. A smirk formed on her features. "I have never felt this way about someone else before, it's just... so indescribable." She said dreamily while focusing her gaze into his eyes.

"...and... for lack of any better way to say this..." She hesitated briefly; reflecting on any sliver of a chance that her feelings would be returned. She sighed inwardly to herself; the chances were indeed slim. However, any chance was better than no chance at all. Mia quickly reaffirmed her confidence, her soft gaze slightly increasing in intensity.

"...for lack of any better way... to say this..." Her confidence faltered again. 'Why is it so hard to say? Just three, simple, words.' Mia slowly pressed one of her claws to her forehead, hoping to recollect her muddled thoughts.

She briefly shut her eyes tightly; before releasing hold of her head, and balling the same clawed hand into a fist around the soothe bell hanging from the silken band around her neck. Her eyes snapped open, immediately taking hold of Richard in an immense stare. Mia took a step forward, now face-to-face with him. She raised her other hand and softly rested it on his right shoulder, never breaking her focus in the process.

"...for lack of any better way to say this..."

"I love you, Richard."

*ahem*

Mia shifted her now hostile stare towards the interrupting Mismagius, while Richard craned his neck around to do the same.

'If I may interject, it is recommended that you finish up this... heartwarming moment... quickly. Mia, you have a match in approximately ten minutes' The Mismagius informed in a rather bored tone.

"Whatever, get out of here!" Mia scornfully yelled. Now pointing the clawed hand that was resting on Richard's shoulder at the ghost Pokémon hovering slightly above them.

The Mismagius shrugged to herself, before floating back up into the concrete ceiling.

Mia glared at the spot where the interrupting Mismagius melded into the ceiling for several seconds, before putting on a less intimidating gaze, and looked Richard straight in the eyes. "Now that you know how I feel..." She whispered. "Tell me how y-"

"Mia." Richard started in a stern tone, interrupting her. His expression betrayed his voice, guilt being the most prominent feature. On the inside, Richard felt like he was in constant tug-of-war between his morals, and his conscience. He heaved a long sigh, briefly glancing away from her. Richard had already made up his mind. It was telling her his decision that was the hardest part.

"I-I can't." He stuttered.

"...What?" Mia asked in confusion.

"I said, I can't." Richard repeated in a solemn tone while re-initiating eye contact with her.

She cocked her head to the side slightly. Trying to interpret his vague words.

"I can't have that kind of a relationship with you. I just don't find it to be feasible. You'd be happier with someone of you own kind." He finally clarified, shifting his eyes to the coarse concrete below his kneeling position.

"... I see." She responded somberly. The solitary golden feather on her head flattened against her scalp. A brief moment of silence followed.

"I hope you understand." Richard said in a hushed tone.

Standing up from his kneeling position, Richard turned to face away from Mia, before she grabbed his wrist to stop him. "What if I was a human?" Mia asked bitterly. "Would it be different?"

Richard cringed in surprise at the sudden question. "I-I..."

Yanking his arm from her grasp, Richard fully turned his back against Mia and then lowered his head in defeat. "... Perhaps." He said hesitantly.

"Double-standards. Lovely." Mia hissed. "May I ask what is so different?" She inquired with hostility. "Why can't you look passed what_I am, and see me for _who I am?"

Richard guiltily shook his head. He didn't have an answer for either of those questions.

He took a few steps towards the nearest wall and leaned his back against it, while Mia continued to stare at him with a surprising amount of mistrust.

Several moments of silence had passed, until an Unown appeared at the entrance of the cell, waving an appendage sticking out of its side towards itself, urging Mia to follow it. Without hesitation, Mia let go of her scrutinizing stare and walked towards the opened cell door. She stopped herself right beside Richard, still gripping the Soothe bell around her neck within her claws. She slowly raised her head to meet his gaze with an unapologetic stare. They both stared each other down until Mia suddenly siphoned the Soothe bell from her neck and somewhat reluctantly shoved it into his hands.

"You can have this back." She murmured coldly.

Richard gently closed his right hand around the Soothe bell. His demeanor becoming one of indisposition.

No more words were spoken as Mia left the cell and followed the Unown down the long and narrow corridors to the arena. Sounds of scratching and clacking against concrete could be heard as her footsteps echoed through the dimly lit hallways, until the heavy slam of a metal door returned the area back to pure silence. With the only exception being an eerie ambience that consumed the complex.

~XXXXX~

'I don't think that could have gone any better!' A certain ghost Pokémon sarcastically remarked.

Richard didn't respond. He continued to idly examine the Soothe bell in his hands. The expression on his face shifting and contorting into several emotions as different thoughts flew through his mind.

The Mismagius huffed disappointedly. 'You've been sitting there for what, three hours now?'

Still no response.

'You can sit there and mope for eternity for all I care, but one of these days you will have to get over yourself.' She continued in an irate tone as her red eyes narrowed.

Richard tightly gripped the Soothe bell in his hand, and slowly looked up to the Mismagius floating not more than several inches above him. "Why do you care?" He asked flatly.

'I don't.' She responded bluntly. 'I'd just rather see you put on a good show than just sit there and take a beating until your corpse becomes cold.'

"Listen. I screwed up. I have to figure out a way to fix this." He replied while he refocused his attention to the Soothe bell in his fist.

'Moping about it isn't going to fix anything.' She said, rolling her eyes.

"No shit." He chided. "I'm not moping, I'm thinking."

'I can sense your emotions. Grief is definitely the most prominent in your mind.' The Mismagius replied matter-of-factly, while pointing one of her arms at him accusingly.

Richard sighed. "Why don't you go bother someone else?"

'I would, if there was anyone else in this cell block.' She responded with an amused tone.

"Is that why it's so silent around here?" He asked in surprise. "Why would they leave an entire cell block empty?"

'Probably to mess with your mind. Victor obviously has some sort of problem with you.' The Mismagius said while shrugging.

"Gee, I wonder why that is." Richard sarcastically replied.

The Mismagius' grin became slightly wider at his comment. 'Maybe you looked at him funny?'

Richard laughed at the play on words. "I see what you did there."

She responded with a light, and moderately creepy chuckle of her own.

Despite the lighthearted conversation, deep down, Richard still felt an incredible sense of shame. He essentially just told off someone who had cared about him immensely, and now probably hated him for it.

'Why is it so hard to be open-minded towards such a real possibility?' Richard thought to himself while furrowing his brow.

'Is the fierce dedication to my morals, and what I stand for, doing more harm than good?'

"Laaaadies and Geeentlemen!" An animated voice shouted through the mounted speakers in and around the arena. "We have a little surprise for all of you!" The voice continued, growing slightly more sinister in tone as it went on. "For our final battle of the night, we have a shiny versus shiny brawl!" The subtle sound of shuffling papers could be heard through the speakers. "A shiny Sneasel named Mia, versus a shiny Lucario named Axel!"

"W-WHAT?!" Mia shouted in shock while suddenly shooting up from her sitting position on a concrete slab and nearly tripping over herself in the process.

"Cool it, princess." A Sandslash with blood stains all over its claws hissed from the other side of the room. "They'll give you a Razor Claw, so you won't get knocked unconscious from a light tap on the shoulder." He mocked while snickering madly.

Mia ignored the sarcastic Sandslash. She was desperately trying to figure out a way that she could win this, if it was possible at all. Her body was shaking profusely out of fear; denying any command for it to stop.

A Meowth clasping something in one of its paws nonchalantly walked through one of the doorways leading into the oversized 'prep-room'. It scanned the area for a moment, before locking its gaze on Mia. A slight grin formed on its face at the sight of her shaking in fear. As it approached Mia, it spoke in a bored tone. "I've been ordered to give this to you."

The Meowth stopped a few paces in front of Mia, and gently rolled a Razor Claw across the concrete floor. "I hope this will allow you to last more than a few minutes out there." He taunted. "Otherwise, our ratings are gonna plummet! So, give us a good show!"

Mia didn't respond as she stared down in surprise at the Razor Claw at her feet.

Without another word, the Meowth walked back up the stairwell leading into the room and out the doorway it entered from.

Mia continued gazing at the Razor Claw on the floor, overwhelmed with the situation at hand.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" The Sandslash berated. "Pick it up and evolve yourself, or go in and get completely annihilated!" He exclaimed as he swiped his claws in front of himself to accentuate his point.

Mia gave an angry glare back at the Sandslash. "I don't think you understa-"

"Oh, I understand." He interjected, slowly lifting his claws in front of his face, and brandishing the still fresh blood that covered the ivory surfaces. "I just managed to beat a Lombre." He continued with a menacing voice. "A type advantage isn't all there is to a fight; pure skill will always outweigh inconvenient typing." He paused for a moment, and then slowly lowered his claws back down to his sides.

Mia hated her current situation, and with good reason, but any encouragement was definitely welcome at this point. She slowly exhaled an icy breath; small patches of frozen water formed on the ground around her as a result.

Ever so cautiously, she gripped the tips of her claws around the Razor Claw; slowly lifting it to her face while examining it curiously. A subtle glow began to form around the item; casting a dull, red light onto her features. Taking in another deep breath, Mia shut her eyes tightly and gripped the Razor Claw as hard as she could. A sudden burst of red light engulfed the entire room; nearly blinding the Sandslash observing the spectacle. Never-ending white flames of energy surrounded Mia; effectively trapping her in one location. Her body began to take on a much brighter glow; revealing her ever-changing silhouette against the deeper sea of red energy that engulfed her very being. Small orbs of light flew around the red energy at startling speeds, going faster and faster with every passing second, until they themselves fused into her barely visible silhouette behind the wall of light.

Several minutes had passed until the red aura emanating from Mia was finally beginning to dim. She remained standing throughout the entire ordeal; the razor claw that she held was now nothing but a pile of ash. No more than a few seconds later, the room returned to its naturally sparsely lit state, as Mia herself collapsed to her knees on the cold, unforgiving ground.

*cough* *cough* "That... was not pleasant." She said weakly while startling herself from the voice that came from her new body. Contrary to the high-pitched and slightly rough voice of her old form, her new voice sounded somewhat deeper, and was as smooth as silk, but at the same time much more feminine sounding. She managed to quickly recover from the evolution process, and reinstated a standing position once more.

Of course, that wasn't the only thing that had changed. Mia was now a whole foot taller than she was previously. She slowly reached up to touch the top of her head to find a golden headdress full of gleaming feathers; as well as a single, black, oval shaped gem that protruded slightly from her forehead. Her hands were the next thing to grab her attention; they were now sporting three excessively sharp claws instead of two. Not to mention being much longer, and from the looks of it, far more deadly. The same could be said for the claws on her feet.

Looking over the rest of her new figure, it seemed to be sleeker, and much more robust; while accentuated by the more prominent feminine curvatures of her body. Her chest was now adorned with two modestly sized breasts. Being partially, but not completely covered by a tuft of feathers on her neck and shoulders. Mia then glanced behind herself; noticing she now had two much longer tail feathers. Rather than three shorter ones.

All-in-all, she was impressed with her new form. Even she herself couldn't deny that it seemed to effortlessly emanate some sort of grace and beauty.

She shifted her eyes towards the Sandslash; who was giving her an once-over, seemingly unimpressed by her evolution.

"I've seen so many other Pokémon evolve that nothing surprises me anymore." He stated nonchalantly.

Mia simply shrugged to herself. A short pause ensued until the Sandslash once again broke the silence.

"Welp, better get to the arena. Don't want to keep the bloodthirsty crowd waiting now do you?" He continued with a roll of his eyes.

She nervously nodded while the Sandslash pointed one of his claws towards the door to the arena. Mia felt like collapsing to the ground with each step, knowing that her imminent death awaited outside of that massive slab of steel.

"Good Luck." He murmured as she walked past.

Mia couldn't acknowledge the gesture; being far too busy focusing on not crumpling to the floor. Now being only inches away from the door, she raised a shaky claw and firmly placed it on the cold, metallic surface for support.

'Time to dance.'

"You're making me fight a Weavile?! Axel exclaimed in exasperation. "Are you daft?!"

"Yes. To both questions." Victor said with an evil grin. "Is there a problem?" He rhetorically asked while shoving the chrome plated barrel of his revolver into the side of the shiny Lucario's head.

"Get that fucking thing away from me!" Axel yelled while slapping Victor's revolver away from his head. "I'm not going to abuse such an extreme type advantage, just so you can get your so called 'revenge'!"

Victors grin only grew wider as he set his revolver back into its holster. "Oh, is that so?" He asked with a condescending tone. "What would your son say?"

"Don't you dare speak about my son." Axel growled.

"Why not? Too afraid to admit that you are a poor excuse for a father, who can't carry out a simple task?" Victor sneered while cackling madly. "I swear, a fucking Oddish could snuff you out."

Axel had had enough. He lunged towards Victor, poised to impale him with one of his wrist spikes. Victor quickly side-stepped the attack as several Unown suddenly materialized in the air to come to his aid and restrained the shiny Lucario.

Victor chuckled. "Bad idea." He said in a malevolent tone while pulling out a Pokedex from one of the pockets of his tan trench coat. He took a few steps towards Axel and shoved the device into his face. "Perhaps, this... will motivate you."

The screen was full of static for a few moments, until a blurry image flashed onto the screen. Axel tried to focus on it as best he could. The only thing he could make out was a small, blue Pokémon chained to a wall with many blood stains. It took a few seconds, but the picture became clearer, allowing Axel to make out some of the minute details. The Pokémon held to the chains was a Riolu, heavily battered, bruised, and bloody.

The Riolu slowly raised its head, and weakly opened its bloodshot eyes. One of the bone plates on its left wrist was broken off completely, leaving a nasty looking scab. The Riolu's expression lit up in surprise as its gaze focused on something in the room.

"...Dad?" The Riolu weakly spoke.

"...R-Riley." Axel stuttered in a hushed whisper. Tears were beginning to form in the corners of his eyes at the sight that was held before him.

The sound of a rusted door opening and closing came from the device's speakers. A shadowed figure; looking to be a Machoke, entered the room wearing a mask and black apron. A large stainless steel hammer was held within the Machoke's powerful grasp.

"...DAD?!" Riley raised his voice in fear while staring at the Machoke.

"RILEY!" Axel exclaimed in desperation while struggling against the grip the Unown held on him.

"DAD! HELP ME!" Riley's voice screamed through the speakers.

"DAAAAAA-"

The screen suddenly turned black. Big red letters reading "End of Transmission." slowly faded into view, leaving an eerie glow on Axel's devastated expression.

"If you want your son alive. I recommend that you follow my orders." Victor said in an infuriatingly calm voice as he pulled the Pokedex from the shiny Lucario's face and stashed it back into his trench coat.

"...You son of a bitch." Axel whispered while giving Victor a petrified glare.

"Takes one to know one." Victor quipped.

"You took my wife away from me! You are not about to take my son away from me too!" Axel yelled in rage while fighting hard against the Unown, but to no avail.

"Then do as I say." Victor said gravely. "Kill. That. Weavile."

Axel briefly glanced at the ground, contemplating if Victor would backstab him as soon as he got the chance. He wouldn't put it past him, that's for sure, but he had no other options to turn to.

"O-Okay... I'll do it."

~XXXXX~

"Ladies and Gentlemen! The match will be starting in sixty seconds! I've also been informed that the shiny Sneasel, by the name of 'Mia'; has just evolved into a Weavile! This'll be an interesting fight, folks!" Victor's voice radiated over the speakers in the arena, as the automatic steel doors slowly began to rise into the slot above them once more.

Mia shielded her eyes with her claws as she slowly walked out into the field. The lighting in the arena was much brighter than anywhere else in the entire complex. She squinted her eyes and focused on the other side of the circular space, where the shiny Lucario known as Axel, stood with an expression of shame.

"I'll make this as painless as possible!" He shouted from the other side of the field. His voice wasn't full of mockery, or sarcasm, but actual concern.

Even so, she was not going down without a fight. She had a new chance at life, and wasn't going to let anyone stop her.

"I appreciate the concern, but I don't think it will be necessary!" Mia articulated loudly so that the Lucario on the other side could hear her.

Axel solemnly shook his head. "Fine. If it's a fight you want, then it's a fight you'll get." He said barely audible enough for Mia to hear.

"Ten seconds!" Victor's voice animatedly yelled through the speakers.

Both Axel and Mia took a fighting stance as a light ticking sound could be heard coming from the hidden speakers in the arena.

Mia counted down inside of her head while trying to come up with a strategy. Fighting against a Lucario certainly is nothing short of a monumental task for a Weavile, but if the Sandslash's words were true. It was worth a shot.

Victor's voice once again came back onto the loud speaker to countdown the final three seconds.

"THREE!"

'Three.'

"TWO!"

'Two.'

"ONE!"

'One.'

" _FIGHT! " _

A loud buzzing sound filled the arena, signaling the start of the match. Mia knew that she couldn't let herself take a hit from the Lucario's powerful fists. Lest she wanted to decompose in a body bag.

That was another thing, she would have to kill the Lucario if she wanted to live. Her eyes showed a hint of hesitation. Hesitation that didn't completely go by Axel's notice.

"I'm just as hesitant about this as you are!" He desperately shouted from the other side of the arena.

"But..." He continued. "I'm willing to do it... for my son!"

With that, he immediately began rapidly to close the distance between them. Mia quickly froze the ground in front of her, then jumped to the side, causing the Lucario to lose his control on the ice and slam into the concrete wall.

He winced in pain as he got back up to his feet. "You are making this harder than it has to be!"

Mia didn't respond, she knew all too well that taking the easy way out wasn't an option. She clacked her claws together in a menacing display, before firing several ice shards at the Lucario.

Axel easily blocked most of the ice shards with his fists. The lethal spikes of frozen water shattering on contact. He then left his defensive stance to charge a projectile of his own. Light blue energy formed around his right paw, he then spun around and fired the Aura Sphere directly at Mia.

Mia quickly rolled away from the Aura Sphere, her fur slightly singed from the intense heat of the beam of energy. A massive explosion reverberated through the arena as the Aura Sphere connected with the reinforced concrete, leaving a sizeable crater in its wake.

She then jumped onto the side of the wall, running along it and using the claws on her feet for traction. Once Mia reached her desired location, she leapt off of the wall and into a graceful arc in the air with claws extended. All of this happening in only a matter of a few seconds as Axel tried to prepare himself for the attack. Mia reached behind her back with one of her claws in mid-air and quickly swung in front of herself once she was within arm's reach of the Lucario.

Axel managed to block the attack, but not without leaving a deep gash in his left arm that was now bleeding profusely.

Before Axel could counter-attack, Mia performed several intricate back-flips away from the Lucario to gain a bit of distance.

Axel charged and fired off a much more powerful Aura Sphere with his opposite arm, this one much nearer of a miss as some of the tips of the feathers on Mia's headdress were burnt off. Another, much louder explosion caused the ground to shake around them, causing Mia to almost lose her balance.

She winced in pain at the sensation, if but only for a moment. Leaping into the air once more, the air inside of the arena fell several degrees as Mia fired off a Blizzard attack onto the Lucario, causing him to stagger backwards. The onslaught was then followed up by a fierce Quick Attack to the Lucario's face, subsequently causing him to brandish yet another deep gash on his cheek along with the one on his arm.

Mia attempted to retreat once more, but found herself being flung back as a direct punch connected to her gut. She followed a shallow arc, before tumbling backwards along the ground from the sheer power of the hit. Mia laid face-down on the ground for a few seconds, before shakily lifting herself up with her arms. Coughing up a minute amount of blood in the process.

'Feels like... I was head butted by a raging Rhydon.' She thought to herself. 'Have to be... more careful.'

Axel pushed the offensive by launching a Quick Attack of his own towards Mia. Before she could react, the punch connected to her forehead while she was still on her knees, causing the black gem in the center to crack from extreme force. Mia screeched in pain as she tumbled several feet away. Once she came to a stop, she could barely find the strength to move. Her breathing was heavy and labored. A migraine ten times worse than the one caused by the TM pushed her in and out of consciousness. Mia raised an arm and pressed her claws against the gem, hoping to dull any of the pain, but with little success.

Axel sluggishly walked over to Mia, who was laying on her back. He stood before her, his body casting a shadow on the ground around her. His expression was none of that but sorrow. His arms were crossed over his chest, several drops of blood still traveling down his arm; making slight plinking sounds as they fell to the sandy ground. Axel's eyes were filled with remorse, and the frown on his muzzle only served to reinforce it.

"I'm sorry it has to be this way." He said with a sigh and slight shake of his head. "But, you did well against such arbitrary odds, and I commend you for that."

Mia could only offer a glare that showed indifference to his monologue.

Axel slowly raised a paw, another ball of energy forming within it. "I promised that I would make this as painless as possible."

Mia's demeanor became desperate as she thought of any way that she could get out of this, although came up with nothing.

'I guess this is it.' She dismally thought to herself. 'I should probably close my eyes, and wait until all of this is ov- ... wait. There still might be something I can do. It's a long shot, but I might be able to use... Revenge.'

The energy in Axel's paw slowly grew brighter and hotter with each passing second. The expression on his face becoming more and more hesitant.

Mia subtly balled her claws up into fists, her punches weren't as strong as a Lucario's. However, a good hit could possibly be enough to knock him to the ground. Without premonition, she suddenly jumped to her feet; making Axel jump in surprise and the charging Aura Sphere fade into thin air. She then let loose several very powerful punches directly into the Lucario's gut and face, finishing off with one so powerful that it caused Axel to fly a few feet backwards.

Axel harshly landed onto the ground, his vision nothing but a blur. A snow white figure appeared before him with a triumphant grin on its face, casting an ominous shadow onto the ground around him.

"Heheh, guess the tables have turned." He said with admission. His demeanor then turned very serious. "I guess it's for the best... Do what you will. However, I want you to promise me one thing..."

Mia raised a brow at the Lucario. What sort of request could someone have in a fight to the death?

"I'm sure you are very well aware of who is the cause of all this..." He started.

Mia nodded, taking a brief glimpse at the spectating room that outcropped slightly from the wall it was inset inside of.

"He killed my wife... and now my son..." Axel continued with grief apparent in his voice. He quickly took hold of one of Mia's claws, pointing the sharp edges against his stomach.

"Promise me, that you will make him suffer the worst and most painful death imaginable..." He said through gritted teeth.

"...For my wife, for my son, for I... and all of the other innocent lives he has claimed!"

Without giving Mia a chance to react, he impaled himself on her claws; gritting his teeth in pain.

Mia winced at the warm sensation around her claws. She wanted to jump back in surprise, but her limbs would not comply. The blood flowed freely from the Lucario's body. Thus creating a small pool of red liquid around where he laid.

Axel's stare never left her notice. The look in his eyes began to grow dull, until his head snapped back against the ground, leaving the red irises of his eyes to look up at the ceiling, and his mouth agape.

It was done. He was dead. But it wasn't for nothing.

Mia slowly withdrew her clawed hand from Axel's stomach. The empty husk of his body showing no protest. She shakily brought the claw up to her face, her expression becoming one of disgust and a renewed hatred. With her clean hand, she gently shut Axel's eyelids and closed his open mouth.

She numbly stood up from her kneeling position. Giving Axel a subtle bow of respect.

Mia promised herself that if anyone going to die because of her, it would not be without good reason, and with dignity. But now, she had plenty enough of a reason to kill someone. Without a shred of remorse.

A human. By the name of Victor.
