#1 of The Anthrotransformers

This is a short chapter, some information about the world and a little bit of story about James' and his pet, the anthrotransformer Aaron's first day on the military base of the newly founded force Commando of Anthrotransformation Force.

"I went so far and come to this" thought the newly recruited anthromorpher "with my Master, James, we'll go to war and end this misery!" He was a hybrid, a mix between wolves and canine which made his size unusual compared to the average size so he wasn't so hard to notice even though his fur looked quite normal. He sat firmly beside his Master who is called James Oliver Brown. James wore military clothes where the main color is grey with black spots and forms which is said to be special made for this force. James talked with a staff member of the military who looked at his papers of where he is supposed to live while he serves the army. As the talk took time the hybrid wolf/ canine looked around in the entrance of this military building: On both sides there was two ways; one vertically and one horizontally. There were a lot of posters which hanged on the boards; few of them were in the entrance, all about the war and campaigns for the election for the next president.

The whole world was suffering from, at that time, the still ongoing 3rd World War which started 4 years ago, initiated by the country Kaica which had a whole continent in its grasp and was ruled by a fanatic Empress who, against all odds, got elected to one of the most powerful positions in the world and it was still a mystery how she managed to take that much to her domain. The common explanation was that the other two Great Powers reacted too slowly to the events that happened in the continent called Enmon. She was named Helena Mark, her 'new' kingdom obeyed her blindly and as the neighbor countries got invaded, they let themselves surrender in fear of her might and wrath. One of her most infamous propaganda (for the allies) is she claimed to be an heir of Helva and Helva is the reigning Goddess of the most known and followed religion Sapianity (inspired by the Latin word Sapias which means 'clever' or 'smart'), used this lie to control the several countries.

The science discovered something really breathtaking before the war emerged. The discovery was about that animals had a hidden power or ability that ultimately could make them transform at will but it required high level of intelligence (intelligence that could surpass a creature and match humans), strong will of spirit and a close bond to a human. But there were some ways to break their ability to transform and the two most important factors were the will of spirit and the bond. If the animal got its will broke in any way or the bond got weaker it will lose its ability to transform in a period of time, depending on the damaged factors. So usually the Master had only one anthrotransformer to secure their bond with them and trained them a lot to keep their spirit up. The function between the Master and the anthrotransformer could have been different but at that time it was an unwritten rule, a norm, to obey every command that the Master ordered. For the military section; if the anthrotransformer didn't followed the order it would be normally abandoned and set into boarding kennel to prevent other failures, securing the future missions. Further there were levels of transformations: The first level that all must accomplish to enter the military was the level called "Anthromorpher". This level required that the anthrotransformer could at least be in humanoid form in 1 hour or more. The next level was called "Anthromagus". The level required that the former anthromorpher can be in humanoid form in at least 12 hours or more and can remain in the Beast form in at least 5 minutes or more. The last level was called "Anthroterna". This level was the highest rank an anthrotransformer could reach. It required that the former anthromagus could more or less be in humanoid form permanently, be in the Beast form in long time and be able to transform between the forms in maximum 3 seconds.

As the others, they were duo partners who just joined the newly founded special force called Commando of Anthrotransformation Force, CAF for short, a force that supposedly should be able to end the dreadful 3rd World War. "Man, for a talk this sure takes long" thought the anthromorpher and sighed, looked shortly at its Master's face and then down to the desk where there was a note about the ranks under each transformation level. Then his senses told him that the staff member was about to say something and he was right: "Let me see if it can transform into the humanoid form. What's its name?" The staff member was about 50 years old and had begun to have white and grey hairs on both the beard and the remaining hair. "His name is Aaron and he learned to be in humanoid form in at least 2 hours" James was in his middle twenties and looked rough on his face, always expressed determination and seriousness. "If that's the case then it can easily jump over the lowest rank and enter the next lowest rank; the recruit. It will be tested so ensure the reliability, sir" said the staff member, made his beard shake while he talked. "I understand. So where will the test be held? And by the way, where are we going to be while we're here, Mister O'Connell?" "Oh I nearly forgot it, my bad. You are going to live at the Novice Section Department number 5, room 1 with another recruit as a roommate and your pet will live at the building right beside called Novices and Recruits room 7" He paused and alternately looked at James and down upon his pet. It looked like that he tried to say something to the pet but he didn't know its name so instead he said: "The test will be held at 6.30 AM tomorrow in the Science Section number 3 in room 43. Be sure to meet up or else the chances to go further will be severely reduced" "Yes, understood O'Connell" he took the paper with the information about him and put it back in his pocket, walked to the left and slapped his thigh as a sign to his pet "Come, Aaron" Aaron wagged his tail in excitement and relieve of finally be able to move from the boring entrance and gave a happy bark. "We must take this more serious than ever, my friend!" James looked down and saw the dog nod, understood what he said.

They walked through several corridors and few buildings to reach their destination. They went into the building of the Novice Section Department, entered James' room which was nothing special but two beds on each their side of the room and little furniture. James took his baggage off on the bed and took the rest from Aaron's back. They saw that the roommate slept on the bed; apparently he had been training, probably with his anthrotransformer. James said something that he would ask the stranger about it later because there might be a chance that the anthrotransfomers could turned out to be friends. After adjusting the baggage he went out to with Aaron who seemly couldn't wait to see other anthrotransfomers even though it is not normal to make bond with them right away. The Novices and Recruits section looked a lot like a normal boarding kennel from a first sight inside but if you went further into the building there were rooms for training for advancing the humanoid form in spare time and it was a bit more comfortable. Aaron just barely sighted some of his fellow anthros training in one of the rooms.

They reached the room 7 which was not an actual room but more rather a larger cell with some odd looking furniture special made for anthros. Aaron knew he was going to be apart from his Master for a night so he began to transform into the humanoid form. It took about between 30-40 seconds to complete the transformation but it seemed that James was quite satisfied with it. From the animal form it could not be seen that Aaron had a trained body but it was clearly now: It was quite slim with some nice abs and chest muscles, not large as Aaron wished but it looked hot. Aaron turned around to face his Master. "Master James, we can go through this!" growled Aaron and reached out a hand like he was about to wrestle with him. "If you keep your spirit up and train as much as you can, Aaron" he answered the hand with a blow.

After their depart ritual Aaron turned to see his fellows; there was a malamute who just transformed into the humanoid form and a salamander who, in animal form, slept under a ray of probably warm light. The malamute had a strongly built body caused by his specie but still tuned. He reached out a paw and said: "Welcome to the army, buddy. My name's Max" The voice was deep and grumbling. "And my name's Aaron, nice to meet you" he responded the hand with a firm handshake. "When Apollo is asleep you better keep your voice a bit down for he has a short fuse and is a bit cold blooded... literally" Max finished the sentence with a little laugh and looked over his shoulder to see if Apollo was still fast asleep. "I understand" Aaron moved his body to see the salamander better "So how long have you been here, Max? Any trip to the war yet?" "I've been in one quick turn-out for three days ago... nothing more for I have only been here for five days" Aaron's two sites, the canine site and the wolf site had an inner conflict of how much he should ask the malamute further, not because he mistrust him but because that the wolf site barely learned to tolerate other canines a month ago. He reacted to the answer with a nod and went to one of the beds but stopped immediately since he didn't know which bed was his. "The left bed is yours" grumbled Max whom Aaron replied with a nod again but as he sat down on the bed the salamander woke up and began to transform. Apollo's body was slimmer than Aaron and the muscles weren't so clear but he looked like he could go very fast. "Here we go..." sighed Max. "Haven't I told you several times..." Apollo stopped in the middle of his saying when he saw Aaron, coldly looked at him and continued "A newbie has joined us, how 'amussssing'. What you need to learn first, rookie, is that you need to respect me as I am because I'm a royal heir" The salamander hissed. "I don't really care what 'blood' you might have or if you're royal. In this place I expect we're the same; novices and recruits" "Oh, we'll see who'll go farthest in shortest time, my furry canine" Apollo shot some lighting with his sight "I don't think you're any different from this malamute..." "I have a name..." growled Max but got interrupted. "Who might get his ability hindered" Apollo laughed lowly with hisses. "Enough, Apollo!" exclaimed Max "It bad as it is but it's far from necessary to make it worse, Worm Tongue. We are, after all, on the same site" Max crossed his arms and closed his eyes of irritation. Aaron wanted to and didn't want to ask about what Apollo meant with Max's ability to transform so he kept himself quiet to avoid most trouble right from the start. "Like I care if we win or lose, I just need to get this over with so I can fulfill the criteria of my country to be the next ruler of the Lizards"

Max and Apollo began to discuss the importance of the war and its influence on the world but Aaron didn't feel to join the conversation, not even his canine site, so he got out of the cell and went to find one of the training rooms. What didn't know was that he was about to find an anthros of great importance, at least for him.
