Hello! Here is the long-awaited next chapter of Weeds. It contains adult gross sex stuff, so minors beware. It also has a few "triggers" for those who are sensitive to issues about coming out and depression. So, fair warning. Also, it's been a while since I've had a chance to write/edit, so be kind. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 5 - Keep your head above water

It had been almost a week, and Ham and Jason still hadn't talked about the night of the shower. Ham wouldn't even be sure that it had even happened had it not been for the strains on the sheets. But, he decided that if Jason wasn't going to bring it up, there was probably a reason.

The mess of the storm was mostly cleaned up by now, except for the neighbors whose barn was completely destroyed. They had decided to try to sell the land and move closer to the city, figuring it was a sign to move on.

The summer humidity was getting muggier and muggier. It had become impossible to stay dry when outside. Jason would come in after the day soaked with sweat. He had lost weight, and his jeans were loose enough now that he needed a belt to keep them up, whereas his arms had gotten thicker; something he enjoyed emphasizing with his sleeveless shirts. Ham, who was used to the work and the heat, barely sweat a drop and remained as lanky as ever, which was also emphasized by the sleeveless shirts.

This night was particularly humid. All of the windows of the house were open to let the faintest breeze occasionally move a curtain or two before abruptly stopping and leaving the unmerciful heat to stagnate in the house once again.

Jason fell down face first on his bed and spread out his limbs, trying to get as cool as possible. With a laborious heft, he shifted himself down with a thud to the hard wood floor, which was much cooler than the mattress. Ham sat up in his bed, messing with an old gear he had tripped over earlier in the day behind the house.

"This heat..." Jason said, turning his head and pressing his cheek into the relatively cold floor. "I can't take it."

Ham propped his ears up and looked over at the fox. "This really isn't bad. Two years ago Sammy almost had to go to the hospital because she collapsed walking to the barn."

Jason turned his head and pressed his other cheek to the floor. "Man, that must have been scary."

"It's the only time I've ever seen Pop scared." Ham spun the gear between his fingers.

"Uhhhhhg... I'm tired of these clothes!" Jason whined, as he unbuckled his belt and strenuously kicked off his jeans to the side of the room before peeling off his shirt and flinging it onto the bed. He sighed as he pressed his sweaty chest to the floor. "That didn't help much."

Ham watched the nearly naked fox out of the corner of his eye as he kept spinning the gear in his fingers.

Jason turned over to his front and looked up at the ceiling. "There has to be something you guys do in this heat to not die." He looked over at Ham and saw his eyes dart back to the gear.

"Not really," Ham said, running a finger over the sprockets. "We just kind of get used to it."

Jason sighed again. "Really? Nothing? Well, I'm about to go commando here, so we better think of something," he said, pulling down his boxers a bit. Ham's eyes were glued to the fox's groin.

"Hello...?" Jason said, waving his paw at Ham. "Still with me?"

Ham looked at the fox's face and realized he had zoned out. "What?"

Jason chuckled. "The heat is getting to you too, huh? I said, don't you guys have like an industrial fan somewhere or something?"

"No, why would we have one of those?" Ham said, pressing a thumb against the bulge along his leg and pushing it out of sight.

"I dunno. You guys have all sorts of other weird stuff, just thought I'd ask."

Ham saw a firefly blink outside the window.

"Well... we do have that pond that isn't too far away."

Jason sat up. "Why aren't we in it?"

Ham shrugged and watched Jason stand up.

"What are you waiting for?" Jason said, pulling his boxers back up. "Let's go!"

Ham moved his eyes up from the fox's crotch and then looked at the door. He gave the 'one second' finger to the fox and got up to turn off the light. He quietly got on the floor and looked under the door then stood back up and nodded.

"Follow my footsteps again, ok?" Ham said as his eyes adjusted to the night and could just barely make out the fox next to him.

With the same precision as last time, they snuck out of the house and along the patio. With their feet crunching the earth below them, they headed towards one of the distant forest patches.

"It's kind of weird being out here in just my boxers," Jason said when they got far away enough from the house.

Ham remembered that Jason wasn't wearing any clothes. "Oh... yeah. Why didn't you put on pants?"

"In this heat?" Jason said. "I'm surprised I'm still wearing these!"

Jason laughed as Ham gave a forced chuckle.

"Just be careful when we get to the forest, there are some pointy plants."

"I'll be fine. Just get me to the water."

They traveled across a field of very short corn before reaching the edge of the woods. The moon was only half full, so it was hard to see in the darkness of the shady trees.

"It's been a while since I've been here, so we're going to have to just go slow, ok?"

Jason nodded as he watched the rabbit disappear into the darkness. "Wait!" Jason jumped ahead and reached out for Ham's shoulder. "So I don't get lost."

Ham continued, feeling the fox's grip on his shoulder. They stumbled through a few bushes, trying to stay on the path, and each time, Jason's hand would move slower down Ham's arm, until he was at his wrist.

A blinking light next to Ham made him jump before he realized it was just another fire fly. Another flash on the other side. Then another. The woods were silent without the breeze. Ham could hear Jason's breath as they kept walking.

"Almost there. I can smell it," Ham said, smelling the pungent odor of pond scum.

"Me too." Jason walked ahead of Ham, letting go of his wrist. He saw the glint of water in the distance and started running.

Ham paused a second and followed him at a slower jog. He heard a loud splash as the fox collided against the cool surface. A few more trees down, he could see the ripples move across the mirrored water as the fox poked his head up again.

"This is amazing!" Jason said, jumping up and sliding back down into the water.

Ham stripped down to his boxers too and walked slowly into the chilled water. The swamp floor was slippery and covered in plants and soggy branches. He shivered as the cool pond reached his crotch. With a gulp and a wince, he continued. As the water passed his belly button, he stopped and looked around. He couldn't see Ham anywhere. He took a few more steps in.

A splash of water flew up violently around the rabbit and he felt two arms wrap around him. He was pulled under mid yelp. Ham squirmed with his half lung of air as the water overtook him. With a collision of an elbow to a rib, Jason let go. The rabbit stood up and gasped for air.

"Sorry dude, thought it'd be funny," Jason said, as he laughed, rubbing his side.

Ham laughed too while catching his breath before taking a lunge for the fox.

"Shit!" Jason said, before diving into the water and speeding away.

Ham stumbled into the empty water and dunked himself again, feeling the cooler water towards the bottom on his legs. He gained his footing and popped up above the water to see Jason about ten feet away, looking down around himself, feeling around in the water.

"Crap," Jason said, moving his arms quickly around him.

"What's wrong?" Ham asked, looking nervously around the water.

Jason sunk down into the water to his neck. "... My boxers fell off."

Ham held in a smile, and tried to keep in the laugh, but it didn't work so well.

"Shut up!" Jason said, splashing water at the rabbit. "It's not funny! I can't see them anywhere!"

Ham was laughing hard enough that his sides were hurting and he fell back in the water. "Maybe you should have kept on the pants after all!"

"Yeah yeah yeah," Jason said, swimming over to the rabbit. "Now, would you help me find them?"

"I dunno," Ham said, standing back up. "They only fell off because you dunked me. What's in it for me?"

"Dude, just look," Jason said, feeling around in the water again.

"Nah, I think I'll just let you stew in your own trouble," Ham said, sitting back down in the water.

"Fine," Jason said, dipping below the water surface again. Before Ham could even swim away, he felt two paws grip his boxers and pull. He quickly grabbed and yanked back as Jason's head popped up between his legs with a grunt. "Come on, give me those!" he said, pulling until he heard a rip and the boxers came off in his grip. He looked down at the mangled cloth and chucked it as far as he could into the middle of the pond, then looked back at the rabbit who was nostril deep in the lake with his ears down. "There."

Ham watched the ripples fade from where his boxers were thrown and then looked at the fox who had a smug smile. Jason laughed and back lunged into the water. Ham looked down into the dark water feeling exposed.

Jason swam around in the circle and came back over to Ham.

"Oh, come on dude. Get up." He swam next to Ham. "It's really not that bad." Ham still looked horrified. "Look, I'm sorry, ok? Now come swim with me."

Ham just looked down at the water, gripping his raging erecting and hoping the water was still dark enough.

"Come on." Jason stood up, the tip of his sheath poking up above the water. He held out his hand.

Ham released his member and put his paw in Jason's grip as he was heaved up.

"Whoa!" Jason said, seeing Ham's rock hard cock. "That's why you were sitting." He chuckled. "That thing still amazes me."

The tip of Jason's dick emerged from his sheath, but he dove off and swam away before Ham could get a good look. The rabbit just stood there, his dripping cock bobbing in front of him. Jason stopped a ways out in the middle of the pond, and waved Ham over.

Ham swam over, as best he could with the rudder between his legs, until he was close to Jason.

"How do you walk with that thing?" Jason said, looking down into the dark water.

Ham shrugged.

Jason swam a little closer. "Do you mind? ... I mean... I just... kind of want to feel it. Just to see," Jason said, moving a little closer. "Nothing gay. Just... admiring."

Ham felt a paw bump against his cock in the cool water. It bumped into it again and then finally gently wrapped around it.

"Shit." Jason was really close. He kept looking down in the water as Ham looked at his face.

Ham felt the paw slide down to the base and them all the way to his tip, cupping the head in his palm.

"I can't even get my whole paw around it."

Ham tensed up as he felt the fox grip tight on his shaft. He felt like his was going to blow. The paw released.

"Hold on man," Jason said as his other paw moved down to his own crotch and started rubbing. "I want to compare."

Ham's body tingled as he felt the paw return and move down to his base. Jason's other arm splashed in the water as he got himself hard. Then he swam up very close and pressed their two dicks together. He gripped them both at the base and moved his other paw up to where his stopped and Ham's kept going.

"Wow dude. Wow," Jason said, cupping Ham's head again. "This thing is huge. I wonder if it would fit in my mouth..."

Ham reached up and grabbed Jason's head as he pushed their lips together. Jason's grip tightened, making Ham moan into the kiss.

Ham ripped away as he felt his cock twitch. In a burst of ecstasy, his cock shot a thick stream of cum between them into the water. Another burst and another glob of cum floated to the surface. Jason watched in amazement as the rabbit moaned and arched in front of him, the thick hot cock still pulsing in his paw. Ham moaned deeply as he gasped.

The milky swirls floated between them. Jason's paw loosened as he felt the pluses slow down.

"Man," was all the fox said as he looked down.

Ham looked down too as he felt Jason's paw let go and lift up in the water, catching some of the cum on his palm.

"Sorry," Ham said, stepping back. "I didn't mean too... I just sort of... happened."

Jason was still looking down at his palm full of jizz. "Just 'cuz you kissed me?"

Ham blushed under his fur and gave a hesitant nod.

"Wow." Jason dipped his paw below the water again. "You really like me then?"

Ham gave another reluctant nod.

Jason gave a faint smile.

The water was static around them. The fireflies blinked near the shore as they both stood there silently. Jason moved, and sent ripples across the water. He walked over to Ham.

Ham's heart raced in his chest. He wanted to run away; dive under the water and disappear into the woods. But he was frozen. The fox's face got very close to his as he felt a paw on his shoulder. It moved up to his neck as he felt lips against his again. The paw pressed their heads together. Ham felt Jason's still hard cock press against his leg. Ham's knees buckled and the cool water flowed over his body as everything went dark.

The rabbit heard something loud in his ear.

"HAM!"

He felt a paw on his chest, and gravity pulling him down to the ground again. He opened his eyes and saw Jason leaning over him.

"Ham! Are you ok?" Jason said, looking over the rabbit's confused face.

Ham coughed up a bit of stale pond water as he realized they were on the shore. He could feel his legs still submerged. He sat up, nodded and coughed again.

"You fainted, man" Jason said. "Scared the shit out of me!" He patted him on the back, making him cough one more time.

"Huh?" Ham asked, looking around. He glanced down and saw that Jason was naked, and so was he. A shot of panic ran through him as he remembered what had just happened. He darted away from the fox and hid behind the cattails a few feet over. "Oh god."

"Ham?" Jason said, standing up and walking over to him. "You ok?"

Ham covered up, wishing he was dead as he thought over the last few minutes again and again. "No."

Jason pushed away the cat tails. "What's wrong?"

"I need my clothes," Ham said, still in a panic. "We need to go now and we need to never talk about this again."

He darted around Jason and quickly walked to where he had put his clothes earlier. He brushed off his pants and slipped them on quickly. He tossed Jason the shirt when he walked up and avoided looking at the naked fox. "Ham?"

"No. No talking. No more talking. Let's just go." The rabbit was shaking as the adrenaline pumped through his thin body. He quickly started walking through the woods, trying to decide if he should scream, cry, or laugh.

Jason threw on the shirt, which was very tight on him and only provided minimal coverage for below, and ran after the rabbit, who was moving much quicker than when they had come in.

"Ham, wait!" Jason said before tripping over a fallen tree and landing hard. "Fuck!" Jason gripped his scraped knee as he lay on the ground. He could hear Ham still stomping through the woods in a fit of manic frustration. "Ham! Come back! I fell!"

Ham stopped, and the forest was silent again. Jason winced as he pressed his paw against his knee. It was too dark to see, but he knew he was bleeding. He looked around and propped his ears up, but he couldn't hear Ham at all anymore.

"Ham?" Jason said, starting to panic as well. He felt something move across his ankle as he jumped up. "HAM?" He squinted, but the darkness was still too much to see through. "HAM! I'M NOT DOING THIS AGAIN. WHERE ARE YOU?" With no response but the flashes of the fire flies, he took a step towards the direction he last heard Ham, being extra careful with his injured knee. He would stop every few steps to listen, but still no noise. "HAM. Seriously. WHERE ARE YOU?"

Jason heard the rustle of leaves about five feet in front of him. "Ham, that... that better be you." Jason said, feeling his heart beat loudly in his chest as he walked towards the noise, feeling in front of him before each step. He heard it again, closer this time. Then a strange muffled sound.

"Ham?" Jason squatted down and put his arms around he huddled-over rabbit. Ham clenched his fist. "I..." he screeched. "I can't do this."

"Do what?"

"This. Be gay. Be with you. Be with anyone. It's not right."

"Dude," Jason said, rubbing the rabbit's back. "It's not that big a deal. Seriously."

"Yes it is. You don't get it because you're not from here. You can't be gay here. You can't be different here. You get beaten up. You can't."

Jason could tell that Ham was crying again.

"I shouldn't have kissed you," Ham said. "I shouldn't have thought of you. I shouldn't have looked at you. I shouldn't do anything. I tried so damn hard to not. I really did. I just can't. I can't. I did so well before. Then I saw you, and I just... I can't... I can't. I can't stop thinking about you. I can't stop wanting to be with you. I can't stop being gay. And I don't know what to do."

Jason gripped Ham's shoulder, unsure of what to say.

"And I hoped that you would just not notice. And that you would just ignore it, and avoid it. Or that you would just beat me up too, so I could finally stop."

"Ham... I would never do that," Jason said, rubbing his shoulder.

"Yeah? Well, I wish you would." Ham pushed Jason away. "Just do it like everyone else. Then I could stop. Then I'd learn. Then this wouldn't happen." Ham stood up. "You don't get what it's like. I can't control it anymore."

"Ham. Stop saying that."

"And say what then? Just be gay? Just be the freak? Just get harassed every day? Just get beaten up by everyone but you? Just be disowned by my family? Then what? Kill myself? I have to keep saying it, or I'll never stop. It's the only way."

Jason stood up.

"Hit me." Ham said.

"What? No. I won't do that."

"FUCKING HIT ME," Ham yelled, shaking. "HIT ME HARD."

Jason shook his head. He felt Ham grab his arm and violently pull it towards him, jabbing it in his stomach.

"HIT. ME." Tears were rolling down Ham's face.

Jason pulled his arm free. "NO, HAM."

Jason felt the rabbit tackle him to the ground as they landed on a rotting log. The blow knocked the air of the fox as he gasped. He felt Ham's fist start to hit him on the chest, trying to start a fight. Jason pushed the rabbit off of him. He felt a foot hit him hard in the thigh.

"STOP IT!" Jason yelled as he landed on top of Ham. The rabbit struggled below him, trying to scratch at Jason's face. The fox used his weight advantage to pin down Ham's legs, as he grabbed his strong arms and tried to control him. Ham tried to shove him off, but only ended up face down in the ground as Jason sat on him and bent his arms behind his back. The rabbit breathed heavily into the leafy forest floor as he felt a knee against the small of his back.

"CALM THE FUCK DOWN," Jason said, squeezing down on Jason's wrists. "WHAT THE HELL, DUDE?"

Ham stayed silent.

"Look. I may not know what it is like, it's true. BUT, I kissed you back, remember? That makes me just as gay. So, your problem is now just as much my problem, and I will be DAMNED if anyone tries to touch you. You're my friend, Ham. I'm not going to just let something bad happen to you."

Jason felt Ham relax a little under him.

"But," Jason said. "You have to stop acting crazy, ok? I can't help you if you scratch out my eyes."

Only silence from the immobile rabbit.

"I love you, dude. I'll do anything to protect you, and I hope you'd do the same for me, since that is what friends are for." Jason felt the breath of the rabbit slow down under his knee. "Now, if I let you go, are you going to go all crazy on me again?"

Ham paused before shaking his head 'no'.

Jason slowly released his grip on Ham's wrists. They fell to his sides, and the fox stood up. Ham was laying on the ground still.

"You ok?" Jason asked, looking down.

Ham nodded.

"Do you need help up?"

Ham shook his head.

Jason took a step back as Ham slowly pushed his torso up, still supporting himself by his knees and arms. With a gurgle and a splash, Ham threw up into the leaves below him.

Jason got down towards the rabbit and helped him up. Ham was shaking. "You sure you're ok?"

Ham nodded. "Just... nervous."

"We don't need to tell anyone."

Ham nodded as he wiped off his mouth and tried to stand up. When he got his balance back, he sniffed. "I'm sorry."

"It's ok. It's been a crazy night."

Ham nodded again.

"Should we go home?" Jason said, resting a paw on Ham's shoulder.

"Yeah."

They walked out of the woods, slowly and carefully. By the time they reached the edge of the trees, the sky had already started to lighten up.

"Shit." Jason said.

"Uh oh," Ham said looking down at the two of them. They were both caked in mud, and Jason's knee was bloody, not to mention he wasn't wearing any pants. "We can't take a shower. We'll wake people up."

"Then what?"

Ham thought for a while. "Well... there is a hose in the back of the barn, but we'll have to be really quiet and careful, or Pop will catch us."

"It's worth a shot."

"Ok, we better hurry, Pop wakes up pretty early."

The two of them ran towards the farm. They snuck around the barn until they reached a rusty pipe sticking up from the ground with a long green hose connected to it. Ham bit his lip as he slowly twisted the knob, releasing a louse squeak. A few more turns and the hose jumped and water came flowing from the end. Ham quickly grabbed it, and started hosing off Jason, who had to refrain from yelping at the frozen water hitting him so unexpectedly. With most of the mud gone, and the dried blood washed away, Ham gave the hose to the fox, and got his makeshift shower in return.

With the both of them dripping wet, they snuck around the corner of the barn. Ham stuck his eye out to see if he could see a light on in the house. With a quick wave, they both started walking quickly to the patio.

"What in God's green earth!?"

Both of them stopped dead in their tracks. Jason looked back to see the older fox holding a shotgun behind them. He quickly pulled down on the thin, wet shirt to cover as much as he could as he turned around. Ham was paralyzed with fear. He looked at the furious fox as he walked closer. Jason felt the fear grip him too as he stood still.

Jack stomped to them and looked both of them up and down. "I... I can explain."
