#5 of Land of the Elves

I wanted to clear this up. Kage is not pronounced like the word Cage, it's pronounced Kagey.

Lady Sakura was out on her balcony and held her diadem crown with the garnet in her hands and looked out towards the sky. She knew they had activated their pendants secret power, as it drained her power. She noticed how her fingers began to wrinkle as the time passed and it followed up her hands and her arms. Finally, a faint flapping sound echoed throughout the open air and bounced off the stone walls of the castle. A brief smile appeared on lady Sakura's lips and disappeared as she collapsed.

"Lady Sakura! Are you alright?" Kiseki worriedly asked.

"I'm fine. Just, help me to my bed, Kiseki." Lady Sakura wearily reassured. Kiseki grasped Lady Sakura's hand and tried to hold back a gasp as she felt the wrinkly skin rub against her own. She helped Lady Sakura up onto her feet and over to her bed. When she let go of Lady Sakura's hand, Kiseki rubbed her hands together.

"Is something wrong, Kiseki?"Lady Sakura asked.

"Your hand, my lady." the small elf replied. Lady Sakura tried to put on a smile and put her diadem tiara in Kiseki's hand.

"You know what your names means, right Kiseki?" she asked.

"Doesn't it mean mysterious?" Kiseki guessed.

"Yes, and you will help Hikarume and Kage unlock those mysterious secrets, as my longevity has begun to fade. The pendants and the jewels that rest inside them must never be separated. The same goes for my diadem. Their souls will become shattered if this happens. If at least one remains as one, they will be safe." Lady Sakura explained.

"Wait, don't tell me yo-" Kiseki was cut off. The sounds of the wind blowing and voices filled the air outside on the balcony.

"Mother!" Hikarume shrieked when she saw Lady Sakura as shriveled up as a prune, "Mother what happened?" Kage walked over to the side of his mother's bed and got down on his knees.

"Kage, Hikarume, Kiseki will explain it all to you. I barely have any energy left." Lady Sakura barely said above a whisper.

"Wait, my lady! I barely know what I'm supposed to be telling them!" Kiseki complained.

"The spirits that rest within the jewels with tell you." she replied.

Hikarume looked at Kage, "I'm beginning to wonder what he is thinking. Are his emotions in a jumble?"

Kage sighed and rose to his feet. Hikarume looked up at him, trying to get a glimpse of his face. Just as she turned her head she saw a tear rush down his face, but his eyes were covered by his long hair.

"Mother, I can sense a curse on you. It isn't just the amulets draining your life power. The man who stole me was a magician in your army, am I not correct?" Kage surprisingly said after being silent for a while.

"Just like your father, Kage." Lady Sakura sighed, "Yes, the group that stole you were in my army of magicians."

"Alas, the curse was just recently set."

"Hold on! But didn't you just take care of them a moment ago, Kage?" Hikarume asked.

"Yes, that is why I am confused." Kage wondered, "Mother, I wish there was something I could do to help you."

"This was unevadeable. Kage, Kiseki, Hikarume, I bid you all a farewell forever." And with that said, Lady Sakura exhaled and she didn't move.

Hikarume began to cry, Kiseki looked at the diadem in her hands and clutched it close to her chest, and Kage took one of Lady Sakura's hands and kissed it.

"Farewell, mother."
