#34 of Legacy of the Veiled Stars

I had attempted to write a document detailing more about the Banished Wars that have been referenced throughout my story of Legacy of the Veiled Star but have never been successful in doing so. Realizing that these Wars are too much to be placed in one single document, I decided to split them up into different volumes to explain the history of these Wars and the history of my characters.

The First Banished War

Conflict had always been minimalistic in our past. Those conflicts were never more than an attack by wildlife than a disruption between two individuals. Our peaceful and diplomatic nature had always helped us avoid conflict, but it was also credited due to the fact that we were very wide-spread across our planets. Never have we seen one kill another willfully.

That is until one group of species had lived in the sun-baked land of Lutracha for too long. They're minds lost concept of reality and superstition and foreign ideals were born. These reptilians of the deserts resisted against the logical and peaceful intent of our ancestors, until it led to the first conflict we had ever seen. Thus, the concept of war was born into our minds.

To understand what led to the events that we now refer to as the Banished Wars, you must first learn the history of the planet Lutracha and its discovery of intelligent life on Canidera.

First to understand our civilizations, our solar system would require some explanation. Lutracha and Canidera are considered sister planets because of there close proximity to each other during their orbit around the sun. Both planets are roughly the same size, and both can support an abundance of life. Fellorian is a small planet near the borders of the golden zone in our solar system. It can sustain life, but its climates are far harsher and few can withstand living on this small planet.

Lutracha being the largest and most fertile planet of the three was host to many different continents, and more different species. Wildlife was abundant on this planet as well, but we'll be focusing on the civilizations that grew on this planet. Scattered across the planet, there were many different variations of our race. Due to the nature of this encyclopedia, the most notable was the reptilian races that lived in the dry and harsh deserts of Lutracha.

Most avoided interacting with the reptilian race because of their strange concepts such as having a currency. Their superstitions were also beyond the comprehension of those that in the more fertile grounds bordering the edges of those great deserts. With avoidance, conflict never arose. Our civilization grew with the excitement of discovering new mysteries, and inventing new machines.

During a prosperous time of communications being established around the planet, it was also discovered that the sister planet Canidera was capable of supporting life. Not only was it capable of doing so, but it also held signs of another civilized life on the surface. This discovery caused great excitement among most of the planet but was immediately met with resistance from the reptilians of the deserts.

First they had denied the possibility despite the facts, due to some superstition. When they could not hide in their denial, the reptilians claimed that the wealth of the sister planet Canidera was theirs. While the logical races worked on trying to travel to the other planet, and communicate with the other civilized life, the reptilians continued to lay claims that to this day is incomprehensible to us.

The closer to traveling off planet the Lutrachans got, the more aggressive the reptilians grew. First they had ignored the reptilians, but the more aggressive they had grown, the more worried the Lutrachans were. The hostility of the reptilians were made public; one most notable phrase from the reptilians had said, "All in the universe is here to serve us." They did not hide the fact that they wished to ravage Canidera, and force the civilization on that planet into submission.

With this knowledge, the Lutrachans knew that the reptilians could not ever be allowed to go to Canidera.

After years of discussion, and invention, the Lutrachans finally managed to travel to Canidera and make contact with civilization on Canidera. This event is referred to as the Sisters Union, but that is another story.

When the reptilians discovered the success of the Lutrachans reaching Canidera, and establishing diplomacy with the natives on that planet, they were furious. While the Lutrachan philosophers were amazed that the Canideras were so similar to them, the reptilians only sought to enslave them; or to establish their authority over the Caniderans. The motives of the reptilians are not quite known but it is suspected to be illogical as were all the reptilian ideals.

Regardless of the attempts of the Lutrachans to stop the reptilians, they had stolen the technology to travel across worlds and soon launched an invasion on Canidera. With the reptilians on the foreign planet, their overzealous forces had started to cause casualties among the Canideran population. Not only had the reptilians attacked the Caniderans, but they had also attacked the cities on their on planet of Lutracha. And so the First Banished War had started.

Lutrachans and Caniderans alike witnessed this and their hearts were broken at the sight of their brethren being killed. Nearly a week went by before it was realized that the reptilians would only be stopped with force. This realization came when one young pup had witnessed the cruelty of the reptilians personally, and he had felt rage in place of his sadness. This rage had been born from watching the reptilians try to cause chaos from the start of the efforts that led to the Sisters Union, until they had eventually created a grievous crime and killed others for illogical concepts.

Shiro Fa was the pup who witnessed this and in his rage, he attacked the reptilians that mistreated his family. The reptilians were taken by such surprise that they were attacked, that Shiro was able to turn their weapons against them. Rage mixed with guilt, and Shiro was so scarred by the his own actions that he was not heard from for another few days. With the attack turned on a few individuals, the reptilians redoubled their efforts of cruelty across both planets. It is assumed that Shiro Fa had heard of this, and after having adapted to having committed such an evil deed, he returned and led a resistance against the reptilians.

Shiro Fa and many of his supporters took the weapons that the reptilians had created, and adapted them to their use. Our race is not only gifted at being adaptable with current situations, but the resistance was so keen that they refitted the weapons to be more effective against the reptilians. With crude weapons used by the reptilians, the Lutrachans developed far more advanced technology and pushed stonewalled the reptilians' aggressive conquest. However, most of those weapons were developed into non-lethal weapons and this had unfortunately prolonged the war for nearly three years.

"Every life that I had taken had shattered my heart over again." - Shiro Fa

When the reptilians were finally defeated on Lutracha and Canidera, their entire race was assembled back into the sands where they were confined. Determined to find a permanent solution to the aggressiveness that the reptilians have had for generations, the radical idea soon emerged as the most logical. Complete banishment of the entire reptilian race. With a mass exodus, the entire reptilian race was placed in long range colony ships and sent off toward a star that had a planet confirmed to be habitable.

The First Banished War was the first time we were introduced to the concept of war. With its horrific affects, we wished to never witness it again. However, the reptilians would not remain docile and they would soon return with revenge infesting their minds.
