Well...I've been trying for the past few days to come up with a new story idea, but the inspiration hit me like a brick last night. After some revising done this morning, I've created a story in my own little world that you can now explore (though I use the word little loosely here). Using one of personal favorite characters, Tyi (an anthro t-rex that belongs to a race of anthromorphic dinosaurs called the Reptilades), I hope to have created a story that (even though it does pertain to gay issues) everyone can relate to.

Critiques or criticism in any form is always welcomed

The beast drew closer. It's size was mammoth, every step resonating a loud thud and crushing rustle from the grass pounded by it's feet. It bent down and using it's long neck slowly weeded out and cow-chewed it's meal. Slowly, ever so slowly did it make it's way to the underbrush where we, two Reptilades (anthro dinosaurs), lied in wait, spears and clubs drawn.

Sweat beads formed on Tyi's forehead, the anticipation killing the anthro tyrannosaurus. The heat rained down him in an endless torrent in the jungle. His good friend, Scar (another anthro t-rex), was a few feet away. Both motionless, their breath short, as the mammoth inched closer to their hiding spots.

"Just a little closer," Tyi could hear Scar mutter to himself.

Tyi shifted a little, his patience wearing thin. It had been days since his tribe had eaten. The dragons had encroached on their territory yet again as they continued their kingdom's expansion. They've been taking much of the local hunt, which they often over killed just for sport.

And now before them, a bronto, stood before them, separated from it's herd nonetheless!

"Now!" Scar shouted, jumping with the speed of his predatory ancestors towards the beast.

Tyi was quick to follow. The bronto, taken by surprise, tried to flee, but wasn't quick enough to escape the first hit Scar made with it's spear. The beast roared in pain, stunned from the hit. Tyi was quick to follow up with a hit from his spiked club, impaling the beast's head.

The mammoth fell with a loud crash, shaking the jungle to it's core.

"Ha! We did it!" Tyi cheered, his growling stomach only reminding him why the victory was all the sweeter.

Scar, brandishing a knife, had already started on the process of collecting meat from the creature. "I can't believe we did it either," Scar agreed, "We didn't have anyone to flank him if he was faster than us."

"Please? A bronto faster than me?" Tyi joked.

"The only thing slower then you is a turtle and it would be a close race," Scar retorted. "In fact, the turtle might win."

"Good thing I have these good looks then," Tyi said, flexing his almost nonexistent muscles, and then the two burst into out laughter.

The two quickly got to work on the meat, knowing it would spoil if left out in the jungle heat for too long; however, Tyi couldn't help but sneak a peek of Scar every so often during the process. Even covered in guts, he still looks sex as hell, Tyi thought to himself at one point and then shook his head.

How could he think about his friend like that? Let alone any male like that? But the thought that always creeped up on him was that it just seemed right to be with another male. And then he would swat that thought away. If my father ever found out... Tyi thought to himself all the time and then shuddered at what would happen.

Though, the two finished harvesting the rest of the meat in no time and trekked back to where the rest of their tribe was currently residing, joking around and keeping in good spirits the entire time. Of course, without having eaten for such a long time, the two of them sat down and did enjoy a "small" meal before returning.

All the Reptilades, from tyrannosaurus to raptor to even triceratops, stared at the two friends returning with the fresh meat, their mouths drooling. Tyi caught out of the corner of his eye Chief Valor, a decorated tyrannosaurus, running towards the two of them, his mouth open and his eyes wide.

"I thought there was no prey here. I was going to move the tribe," he stated.

Tyi just grinned. "With the two of us around dad?"

Valor nodded, "That is true. You bring me both honor with such a hull, my son. We can stay here for another week at least now! I say we throw a feast in honor of both of you!"

Scar bowed, "You do us too much honor as well chief."

And the tribe erupted into a celebration like it hadn't in months. Merriment was in the atmosphere, with mead freely flowing throughout the tribe (the one luxury they begrudgingly traded for with the dragons) and music filling the air with melodies of past victories. Young males asked females to dance, while some made buffoons of themselves by either drinking a tad bit too much or by trying the feat of impressing the female.

Tyi gazed out on the comradery and sighed. "It must be nice to have a mate," he said to no one in particular. After all, he was sitting far away from everyone else and didn't really expect anyone to have heard him.

"Don't tell me you get shot down?" Tyi heard Scar say and spun around, astonished to see his friend standing there with enough food for two. Knowing his friend, Tyi knew Scar could eat that much and then some.

Though, Tyi chuckled at the thought of him asking a female to dance. The awkward movements, the female staring at him intently making him feel even more awkward then the dance looked, and the female longingly wanting him to stay a little longer yet he felt need or desire in return to be with her? Needless to say, Tyi had no desire to even set foot on the dance floor, but it still made him a tad jealous to see others having a good time with a mate.

"I could have any female I wanted," Tyi told his friend.

"Then why haven't you asked a girl yet?"

Because I much rather have you was the thought that ran straight through Tyi's head. Instead of destroying his friendship with Scar and incurring whatever wrath his father would bring, Tyi leaned back, putting his hands behind his head and said, "I'm not really that interested."

"You of all scales?"

Tyi snorted. "What?"

Scar smirked, "Is anyone a bigger perv then you?"

"Well..." Tyi thought a moment and then laughed. "I don't think so."

Scar sat down with the meat and set it in between the two of them. Tyi looked at his friend, a bit surprised, and Scar told him, "I saw you looked a little lonely and looked like you could use some cheering up." Tyi smiled and began devouring the meat, which Scar laughed at. The two talked about how the hunt went, over exaggerating every detail and arguing in a friendly manner over who actually was responsible for the hunt's success.

They laughed and drank until it was just the two of them left.

"Well, it seems like I missed my chance," Scar observed, gazing at the now empty party.

"I'm not too disappointed. I have two left feet and probably just would have made a fool of myself," Tyi joked.

"It's not that hard, if you want me to teach you how," Scar offered, his claw extended looking ready to grab Tyi claw and twirl him around.

Tyi's heart skipped a beat. Could he really be asking me to dance...?

"Come on, don't leave me hanging."

"This better not be a joke," Tyi told his friend grabbing his claw.

Scar lifted him up and began swaying back and forth with him, and comforted Tyi with, "It's not. Just follow my lead."

Tyi tried to keep up with his friend, though Tyi's footwork was haphazard at best and found himself constantly tripping. Scar just laughed a little and straightened him out, and eventually went at a tempo that Tyi found to suit his no skill status. Though Tyi could hardly believe it, having it all seem so surreal. He was holding Scar's hand.

He was holding Scar's hand!

And was dancing with him under a beautiful starry night? Tyi thought he must have been dreaming, or drank too much mead was passed out at the party, or maybe both.

Tyi wished the moment would last forever but eventually Scar tired out, needing to return to his own hut to rest for the morning. And Tyi looked longingly at his friend, knowing he probably didn't share the same feelings he had for him. Of course he then laughed at the irony of the situation.

Tyi was the now the female that didn't have her feelings returned.
