Rick and Jasper are brothers who have served as Seekers Betas for many years. When they were forced to leave their original home for reasons that they have only told to Seeker and have asked him to keep secret.
They arrived on Seekers door step as teenagers barely conscious and week from hunger and injuries. When Seeker saw them he took them in without question and raised them as students from then on. Over time Rick and Jasper came to see Seeker as more than Alpha and teacher. They have come to see him as more of a father figure and will willingly lay down their lives for him.
As they grew older both brothers showed themselves to be skilled warriors and fierce protectors of those they loved. Jasper showed a particular affinity for the bow and arrow and became a natural leader whom others looked to in those rare times that Seeker was unavailable or unable to lead. Rick gained a preference for fighting with a war hammer and while he was a more than competent Beta he never developed the leadership skills of his brother.
Both brothers have earned the respect and love of not only Seeker but the rest of their pack and the inhabitants of the village they protect. That respect and their natural skills and desire to protect those they care about is what has led to Seeker offering them both positions as guardians.
After talking it over between themselves, Rick and Jasper have both agreed to accept Seekers offer. Rick is to be the first Earth Guardian and Jasper the first Air Guardian.
