Inspired by Watchmojo's superhero/villain origins videos, I decided to do my own upload of a fan made villain I made for Star Fox. So here's just an interesting character I developed and I wanna see what people think.

Name: Xoephis (pronounce "Zoe fiss")

Age: late 30's

Species: fox

Fur and hair color: White with black stripes on his back and face.

Origin: Raised on Cerinia but his real planet of origin is unknown.

Backstory:

The adopted son of the Cerinian royal family, Xoephis was discovered by Krystal and Alister's uncle, Cerinian crowned prince Erizek on an abandoned space pod which had crashed landed on Cerinia. There were no clues to the baby fox's origin other than a note which read "Xoephis". Erizek took Xoephis and raised him as his own son. Xoephis at a very young age demonstrated a very gifted intellect when his father came across him solving and completely basic mathematical equations when he was only 3. Excited with pride, Erizek had Xoephis tutored by some of the best teachers on Cerinian and he even paid for a few scientists to come from Earth and Corneria to teach him and Xoephis showed excellent progress. By the time he was only eight, he could solve very complex mathematics and physics that even many college students struggled with. Xoephis's high IQ though, caused him to lack social skills and he made no friends, preferring to focus his energy on his studies. However, Xoephis love his adopted father very dearly and they were inseparable. However, when Xoephis was only ten, his father was killed after he tried to stage a coup d'état against Cerinia's monarch government and establish a dictatorship. Xoephis became an orphan and was sent to live with his uncle, the king of Cerinia who his father had tried to dethrone and his cousins, Alister and Krystal. Xoephis was not welcomed by his uncle however and not once did he ever show an ounce of respect and love for his adopted nephew, placing the wants of his own children and future heirs ahead of Xoephis. Xoephis also showed little love for his uncle or his cousins, believing them to be inferior to him. Not to mention, because his father was considered a traitor to the Cerninan people, Xoephis was shunned and scorned by the general populace.

Xoephis's anger and hatred for his uncle kept building and building with the years but the straw that broke the camel's back came when he was sixteen and he was asked to watch his cousins Alister and Krystal. Krystal (who was only eight at the time) fell into a river and nearly drowned while chasing a butterfly. Xoephis jumped into the river and saved her, but unfortunately his uncle was furious and scolded him, claiming Xoephis had neglected his baby sitting duty. Angered and saddened, Xoephis's telepathic and magic abilities suddenly activated when he nearly killed his uncle with abilities. His uncle was saved thanks in large to the intervention of Alister, but the king had declared that Xoephis was a danger to Cerinia. Showing no remorse for his attempt on his uncle's life, Xoephis was exiled from Cerinian and was imprisoned on a distant moon. He was giving a neck bracelet which would severely hurt and weaken him if he ever tried to escape. Xoephis swore vengeance on his uncle and began to try to find a way to escape.

For several years, he began training himself in combat and magic to enhance his own skills and abilities. One day, while searching for food on the moon, he discovered an ancient cave which contained a large gem, several books on black magic, and a cave painting and writing of the Arbitrum, an ancient mythical cosmic dragon who was said to have uncovered the secret to great power and invincibility. Xoephis's desire grew and he began reading and training himself on science and black magic to help him uncover both the gem and the Arbitrum's secrets. He even built himself crudely made robot's to serve as his servants. Eventually, he broke free of the bracelet his uncle placed on him and finally escaped the moon with the gem and his books by stealing a ship from some drug smugglers (killing the crew in the process). Realizing he needed an army and a team of scientists to achieve his goal, he traveled several systems, selling devices on the black market to fund his journey.

Eventually, he came across the planet Venom, and there he met the exiled Cornerian scientist Andross. Andross, impress by Xoephis's high intelligence in science and combat, formed a partnership and allowed him to use some of his resources and research team. However, Andross and Xoephis had a deep mistrust of each other and Xoephis kept the Arbitrum gem a secret from Andross. Xoephis, believing an army of mercenaries to be unreliable, instead built an army of intelligent cloned android soldiers who would only obey his command. He then went back to the moon where he came from with his android army and spent his spare time building a fortress there named Erizek 1 after his father and continued to build his android army and find out the powers of the gemstone. He soon discovered that the gemstone would grant hidden powers to one who was strong enough to take them, however, this powers could only be extracted through a special ritual, which required stealing the life force of a powerful person. Xoephis then boasted his pride and declared that he only was the only one strong enough to rule the universe.

He then used his army to attack his former home of Cerinia overwhelming it's defenses. He then killed his aunt and kidnapped his uncle and forced him into a ritual chamber which he would use to extract his uncle's life force to power the gemstone. However, his cousin Alister wielding the famous blue sword cypher, an powerful Cerninian sword intervened and tried to stop him. Xoephis easily over powered his cousin however, his uncle's life force wasn't strong enough and the ritual chambered he had designed became critical and unstable. This caused the gemstone to unleashed an extremely powerful burst of energy which vaporized almost all life on Cerinia. While it didn't destroy the planet itself, it turned Cerinian into an inhospitable death zone. Xoephis managed to barely escape, but the gemstone's energy greatly weakened him. Also, he was unable to reclaim it, and he lost his greatest weapon. He retreated to Erizek 1 and angrily tried to find a way to reclaim his lost powers and the gem. The space drones he sent to the now lifeless Cerinian confirmed that the gem was still intact and even better, it had absorbed plenty of life energy to make it even stronger. However, the energy destroyed his drones and Xoephis was too weak to extract it himself. He also reunited with Andross, who had also been severely weakened after being defeated by Fox McCloud 3 years earlier.

Hearing rumors about the Krazoa's power on Sauria, Xoephis and Andross went there to uncover their secrets in hopes that would help them reclaim their powers and reclaim the gemstone on Cerinia. It was there, that Xoephis discovered that his cousin Krystal was still alive and soon realized that she would be perfect for power the rebuilt ritual chamber to extract the gem. Xoephis ambushed Krystal on Sauria and pushed her into the Krazoa device in order to extract her life force, but before he could complete this, Andross betrayed him and sealed him within the crystal chamber too. Andross then tricked Fox McCloud into gathering all the Krazoa spirits and released Krystal. In the process, he accidentally revived Andross and set Xoephis free. Xoephis soon realized that he had reclaimed some of his lost power and then went to seek Andross and destroy him for his betrayal. But Fox had defeated Andross and had rescued Krystal before he could. Feeling that Fox had stolen his goal, he vowed he would destroy Star Fox and his cousin. He then returned to Erizek 1 and continued to work on his new and improved ritual chamber and continue to rebuild his army and plot out his plans. He then discovered that not only had Krystal survived Cerinia's destruction, but so had her brother Alister, who was wondering the galaxy as a mercenary/bounty hunter. Realizing he could use both of them to help him reclaim the Arbitrum gemstone back, he launched an attack on Earth and the Lylat system and declared he would one day rule the galaxy.

A powerful sorcerer and extremely intelligent villain. Xoephis is a narcissist megalomaniac who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals and his conquest of the universe and the destruction of his cousins and Star Fox. With his magic, highly advanced technology, and army of extremely deadly androids, Xoephis is one deadly opponent the Star Fox team has ever faced.
