#8 of Jason's Nightmare

This is part 7 of Jason's nightmare. It's a little late here in my timezone now so my creativity is dying down to make a creative description. anyway, yada yada yada, you'll finally meet sarah here. decided to post this part before i went to bed

Characters:

Jason: Lucario

Raiki: Luxray (BridgeToPeace's character)

Sarah: Gardevoir (Jason's girlfriend; diseased)

Guren: Gardevoir (BridgeToPeace's character)

Note:

Sarah and Jason's current relationship would be comparable with that of Jodie and Aiden of Beyond: Two Souls. It's a really great game for the ps3, if you guys have a ps3, go get Beyond: Two Souls as soon as possible.

Jason awoke from his nightmare, the lucario was covered in sweat and his heart was racing. He sat up and looked around, the room was lit with a candle flame giving Jason the assumption that it was dawn but he saw only darkness outside.

"You cry in your sleep." Raiki commented, the luxray sitting by the window staring outside. "I'm just glad you don't cry very loudly."

"What time is it?" Jason asked as he yawned and stretched to dispel his drowsiness.

Raiki returned his gaze outside the window. "I don't know exactly..." he answered. "Sometime between four and five am I guess."

Jason rubbed his eyes and yawned once more. "Did I wake you?" he asked.

"Well, you kept me from sleeping if that's what you meant." Raiki answered.

"How did I keep you up?" Jason asked.

"It's not your fault really..." Raiki answered, his eyes dropped to the floor in sadness. "I... get sleepless nights some times. Don't worry about it."

Jason stared at Raiki, he was being kinder to him now... much kinder. A warm feeling flickered inside his heart, a smile formed on his face. "Raiki... since you can't sleep, wanna walk with me?"

Raiki looked at Jason in surprise. "Why?"

"What? You and I both seem to have no intention of sleeping any time soon." Jason said as he got up from bed. "I thought maybe it's time we got to know each other better."

"Psh." Raiki said as he reverted his attention to the outside. "Like I'd want to know more about you."

"You know Raiki, you don't have to act so tough when I'm the only one here." Jason said as he put on his tank top. "I don't care how tough you are, I told you that before already." He continued as he wore a pair of shorts. "You and I are having this walk, and you and I are going to get to know each other more."

Raiki wanted to just smash Jason's face against a wall repeatedly. Jason's courage may be commendable and his combat capabilities impressive but the more he tries to befriend Raiki, the more annoying he seems. But... a part of him feels like accepting Jason's offer. Jason reminded him so much of Guren, his courage, his cheerful mood. But no, he couldn't, he refuses to submit to such a petty activity.

"Suit yourself." Jason said, standing up and walking to the door. "If you need me, I'll be outside."

Raiki did not respond, didn't even think of gracing Jason's question in any way. Jason shrugged it off and proceeded outside. He saw the bright light of the moon shining over the land. The place was quiet as nobody else was awake. The cold night air brushed against Jason's fur as he took a stroll through the forest. The light of the moon dappling on the forest canopy casting alternating shades of bright and dark.

Jason felt relaxed as the cold breeze cooled him down. His body has always been in an oddly high temperature, a fire constantly burning inside, a fire that can't be extinguished. It caused him discomfort, he always felt hot and sick, but a nice cool breeze or a cold swim always relaxed him. The alternating lights of the forest concerned Jason though... he felt a presence that isn't supposed to be there.

"Jason, how are you?" a female voice asked from behind him.

Jason turned to see that Sarah was standing under the moonlight, the gardevoir looking beautiful as ever. The light of the moon making her appear to be glowing, it captivated Jason. "I'm fine, Sarah..." Jason answered, his face blushing with longing. "Listen... I'm sorry about getting mad at you last night. It's just that, I don't feel like myself at the moment."

"Jason, I've missed you so." Sarah said, extending her arm towards Jason. Jason ran forward to hold her hand but his passed through hers, as if she was but a mist. Sarah let out a chuckle. "Jason, I'm dead already. You and I exist in two different worlds, when will you stop chasing after me?"

Jason wanted to cry, to piss and moan like a spoiled brat, but he kept his calm and just smiled back. "Sorry, it's just that I miss you too." He answered. "I want to feel you again, be able to hold onto you, feel your arms protecting me..."

Sarah smiled compassionately at Jason. "Oh, Jason..." she chuckled. "I promised that I'd always be with you, is that not enough?"

"It's enough." Jason answered. "It's just... I still want to BE with you."

Sarah chuckled and gave Jason a hug. Jason didn't feel her physical presence but his heart jumped with joy. "But I AM with you, Jason... I will always be with you."

Tears of joy rolled down Jason's eyes as he wrapped his arms around Sarah. "Sarah, mind if you walk with me?" Jason asked.

Sarah chuckled. "Dude, of course I won't mind." She answered as the two proceeded. "Oh, hold on, I must warn you that you can only see me under the light of the moon so a forest stroll really isn't the best."

"Then let's go somewhere bright." Jason said. "The peak of the mountain is sure to be blessed by the moonlight, we could walk there."

Sarah and Jason continued their stroll, each exchanging stories of their own. Of course Sarah already knows everything that has happened to Jason, she has never left his side, even after death. "So, how's Damion?" Jason asked.

"Oh, you know, being that annoying trouble maker he is." Sarah answered with a smile. "But we're getting along quite well. What I can't believe is that he and you were--"

"Yeah, yeah, I know." Jason answered, cutting Sarah's sentence short. "No need to say it."

"Aw, but you two would've made a really cute couple together." Sarah said with a teasing grin.

"Nyep!" Jason yelled, his face blushing red with embarrassment. "I told you there's no need to say it!"

Sarah let out a laugh, her ghostly figure shining and shimmering in the moonlight. "You make the weirdest of sounds sometimes."

"Anything to shut people up." Jason replied while mumbling random sounds in irritation.

Sarah chuckled and placed her arm over Jason's shoulder. "Aw, I'm only kidding!" she said with a bright smile.

"Yeah, yeah..." Jason mumbled.

Sarah and Jason reached the peak of the mountain, the two enjoying the marvellous view bellow. "I'm glad you're here with me Sarah..." Jason said. "At least I know I'm never alone."

"Sure you are..." Sarah said teasingly as she grinned. "you can't get yourself to fap knowing that I can see everything you do."

"Ugh, don't remind me." Jason answered with discomfort. "It's been a year already... anyway, Sarah, do you know why this is happening to me? My dreams, my nightmares... why do they keep happening?"

Sarah's cheerful smile faded and replaced by a frown. "It's because you can't get over it..." Sarah answered. "...you can't get over our death. Your soul has been torn into different pieces due to your depression, your mind deteriorating with each passing day... you're slowly losing yourself." Sarah paused, waited for Jason to reply but he just stood there and stared in disbelief... so Sarah continued. "Jason, I asked that you promise to keep moving forward with a smile on your face." She said. "Stop going into depression, your mind can't handle anymore. One of the reasons why I can't leave you is because I'm the one keeping your mind intact, reducing the intensity of your nightmares, visions and hallucinations... I... I don't want to see you suffer more than you should."

Hearing Sarah's words made Jason feel uneasy. He felt his insides tugging against each other as tears began to gather inside. Sarah felt sorry for Jason, she knew it was hard for Jason to just move on from the death of two of the people he loved but he has no other choice. Sarah moved closer to Jason and gave him a hug. Jason's aura began to resonate, appearing as a glowing greenish-blue mist around Jason. The aura enveloped the two giving them a warm feeling.

"Jason... how?" Sarah asked as she stared in bewilderment around her.

"I said I want to hold onto you didn't I?" Jason asked in response. "This is my way of making it come true... it's not a permanent solution but it'll do."

Jason's aura enveloped Sarah, wrapping itself onto Sarah's ghost form. The aura then hardened itself, forming a sort of shell. Jason normally used that shell to shield his body from oncoming attacks, but in this situation, he used it to give Sarah a physical form. Jason hugged Sarah back, holding onto her tightly and held on 'till his heart's content. Sarah was reluctant at first, but she went with the flow. She can't deny it, she too wanted to be with Jason again.

"Jason-kun, is that you?" a female voice called out from behind.

Jason was startled, pushing Sarah away as he turned to see who it was. "Guren-chan? What are you doing here?" Jason asked.

"Nothing, I just woke up early and Raiki-kun told me that you went out for a walk." Guren answered, the female gardevoir said as she turned her attention towards Sarah. "So, who's your friend?" she asked.

"Oh, uh..." Jason mumbled in discomfort. "Guren-chan, this is Sarah." Jason said as he gestured towards her. "She... was my girlfriend back at Avalon."

"Was?" Guren asked. "You two aren't together anymore?"

"Um... well..." Jason said, scratching the back of his head. "She's dead now... what you see before you is her spirit."

"Given a physical form." Sarah added. "Which you SHOULDN'T do." She pointed out as he nudged Jason.

"Uh... I see." Guren said. "I'm sorry for her... loss."

Sarah chuckled. "Don't worry about it. I haven't really left, I can't."

Guren stared at Sarah in curiosity. "Care to explain?" she asked.

Sarah smiled and nodded. "Of course." She answered. "Jason would be pleased to explain everthing."

"What? Why do I have to do it?" Jason asked.

"Aw, don't be such a party pooper, Jason." Sarah said, patting Jason's back. "Jason, be a dear and remove this shell this instant. Spirits don't like it when we're contained like this."

Jason hesitated but he did so anyway. Sarah remained visible to Jason's eyes but only as a transparent figure although she vanished completely in Guren's eyes. "Remember, Jason, I will always be with you, no matter what." and at that, Sarah's figure disappeared completely.
