Loved For Your Own Weight

One of the cuter stories I've written, and though it's not my highest in quality, it's one that I personally loved and have gotten a lot of good feedback on, so I thought I'd upload it in my first batch. This is a simple story of romance between an overweight collie and a lithe cougar, and the struggles they overcome in their desire to be together. Honestly, one of the most emotional ones I've written, and one I'm proud of even if it's not the best of best in quality. Enjoy!

What is love? A lot of furs asked that question daily. Many claimed to find the 'one' for them, the other half that completed their lives. Whether that fur was male or female, tall or small, smart or average, all of them seemed to pair off to find that special significant other. However, there were those that lacked such luck, who watched from a distance yet couldn't approach, or simply were out of luck. These poor individuals endured life alone, waiting for those days to pass before they too found that special someone. Often they found comfort in other things; whether it was hard work, hobbies, or simply enjoying the company of friends, they managed to pass the days until they came together with another.

Lukas was one of those unfortunate furs to be without that unique person to complete them. It wasn't that he was unlikeable; in fact, his personality was rather appealing. Anyone asked would say that he was a cheerful, kindhearted, upbeat individual. However, he was surprisingly unapproachable in that respect. The canine had his eyes set on another, yet was unable to approach him no matter how hard he tried. So many times Lukas simply wanted to walk up to this distant object of affection and proclaim his feelings, but there were so many factors standing between him and his goal.

The first was his appearance. Lukas was a rather average collie, black fur covering the majority of his fur and contrasting with the white 'stripe' down the middle of his muzzle and his underbelly. That alone wouldn't have been too much of a problem, until one noticed that belly in particular. At first, the collie had been fairly trim in his early high school years, maybe a little bit on the chubby side. As time had gone by, though, his weight had started climbing. Whether it was from the nights of chowing down on a whole large pizza himself while studying or the less-

than-healthy meals that the school served, Lukas had filled out from a somewhat plump 190 pounds to a full-blown 300 pounds of fat.

Though he liked his weight, the collie felt awkward and particularly self-conscious about it. He had enjoyed gaining and there was something nice about simply being fat, able to eat as much as he wanted. That sense of size didn't hurt either, and actually made him feel really good. But with the feelings of delight came a social stigma against obese and overweight furs, and slowly his self-confidence began to fall inversely compared to his weight. Soon, Lukas found himself feeling odd whenever he was talking to someone he wasn't intimately familiar with; there were often stares directed at his large midsection, round cheeks, and tighter clothing. That sense of being watched made him feel particularly uncomfortable. In the end he eschewed most conversation, instead preferring to remain quiet and at a distance. He was content with his situation, deciding that the subtle wallflower approach was the best way to handle things.

That was until he had met Caleb. Caleb was a lithe cougar, a bit of a thin build to his body. His clothes hung a bit loose on him, enough so to be comfortable without falling down around his legs. The feline's soft, tan fur coated his entire body from nose to tip, a lighter gray accentuating his underbelly and making the black markings across his nose stand out even more. The tip of each ear was black as well, matching the color perfectly. He was surprisingly casual in his dress, opting to wear a simple t-shirt and jeans or maybe a sweatshirt if the weather called for it. Never once was he seen in formal or extravagant clothing in any way; he was a fur of simple needs and wants.

Caleb had been in the same year as Lukas in high school, both graduating at the same time, and somehow they had managed to end up going to the same college. The cougar was fairly outgoing when others approached him, though he seemed mostly to keep to himself, content with things as they were. Caleb also had an odd manner to him: though he rarely initiated conversation and often enough just preferred to listen to his music, when addressed the cougar was a lively source of conversation, up-to-date on current topics and cheerful to boot. The feline had a sort of subtle, quiet charisma to him, endearing himself to others without even trying. As such, even the stand-alone cougar was surprisingly popular.

When the two were compared together, one would say that Lukas and Caleb had very little in common. The former was a shy, quiet, and unsociable overweight collie; the latter was lithe, outgoing, popular, and relaxed, the epitome of an ideal fur. Yet the two would find one similarity as they proceeded through college, as each watched someone from afar. Both of them would have the same difficulty, unable to approach the object of their affection. But things were about to change, and that first step forward would be coming soon enough...

Lukas groaned in relief as the bell rang, announcing the end of the class period. Though he had graduated from high school to college, it seemed that little had changed; there were still the same shrill bells, the same monotone teachers... and the same too-small desks. The instant class was dismissed, the collie squeezed free of his seat with some difficulty, his ample stomach pressed up against the surface he used for writing. He had been wedged in pretty tightly, since the desks were purchased on a budget and hadn't been designed with larger furs in mind. Every class usually left a decent-sized divot in Lukas's large belly, and by the end of the day the area had a little soreness that quickly faded overnight.

The collie never complained, though, or asked to be accommodated. He enjoyed his size, enjoyed being heavy, and enjoyed eating far too much; as his weight slowly grew, the school would have had to keep increasing the desk sizes, and that seemed unfair. Lukas didn't want to have to make anyone pay extra for his own gluttony; if it had been something he wasn't in control of, that would be different, but the canine was fully aware of what he was doing and continued anyway. Sure, it made for a few tight squeezes during class, but it was certainly something worth dealing with.

At least, it certainly had been that way for the first semester of college. After he had started classes during the next term, things had changed a great deal for him. The collie's dark brown eyes glanced across the room to a certain sandy-furred individual who was packing his bag, a pair of white headphones already in his ears. Caleb was humming to some random song from his music player, his tail swinging back and forth to the song's rhythm. The cougar was fairly oblivious to everything around him, including the stare from his overweight classmate. Even if he had noticed, it was unlikely that he would do anything; Caleb was just one to go with the flow regardless of the situation he was in.

Lukas continued to watch as Caleb continued to sway to his music, a sigh on the collie's lips. He loved seeing the cougar in such a cheerful mood, a gentle smile on his muzzle and a song in his ears. He definitely looked great, all of that aside. Lukas continued watching the feline's swaying form for a few minutes before realizing that he was staring, averting his gaze with a blush. He was openly gay, but that wasn't the issue; after all, Caleb had dated at least one other guy during high school, marking him as at least bisexual. It was the collie's shyness, though, that was betraying him once more; he had already admitted to himself that he liked Caleb, but he couldn't take that first step forward.

Caleb was certainly attractive, too; Lukas couldn't deny that it was as much his appearance as his personality and attitude that made him so likeable. The cougar was lithe but not unhealthily thin, a slightly muscled build covering his frame. Emerald green eyes stood out strikingly against his soft, tan fur, complementing that subtle smile that had its own charm. Soft brown hair hung in messy strands, several of them drooping before his eyes to be brushed away. That gesture alone was rather heart-winning; Lukas didn't know why, but he loved it when Caleb flipped his hair. It made him feel like a fan girl cheering on some star, but it didn't matter; it was really attractive in its own way.

Unfortunately, Lukas felt that he had little to no chance with Caleb; even if he did come out and say that he liked the guy, he figured that he'd be turned down for several reasons. For one thing, the collie didn't see himself as very attractive. Not once had anyone commented positively on his appearance, aside from a few thinly-veiled comments on his weight like "oh, you look well-fed!" And that weight alone was an issue; a lot of furs found it unhealthy or unattractive, and with Caleb's perfect build and good looks, Lukas expected the same from him. The one good thing the collie had going for him was his personality, but he couldn't even approach the lofty cougar, let alone talk to him or get to know him better.

With a sigh, Lukas grabbed his bag and turned to leave, his ears drooping again. The collie, as always, was plagued by a mix of contrasting emotions that ended up leaving him feeling horrible. He hated his life sometimes, wishing that he had taken better care of himself back in high school so that he had a better body. With a nice, smoothly-muscled body, he could probably woo Caleb without any difficulty; if anything he might have actually made the cougar feel shy! But at the same time, he loved his weight, enjoying the feeling of size that came with it and just finding the body he gotten from it to be simply delightful. There was something about that huge, warm stomach that just felt so good!

The conflicting emotions left a bad taste as always in his mouth, and Lukas sighed once more before he headed out the door, planning to go back to his apartment. He could stuff himself nice and full before going back to studying; it wasn't like he had any plans anyway. In the end, it'd just dissolve into more dreams of the handsome cougar he'd never have...

Is he gone?

Caleb looked over his shoulder as he paused the song in his music player, a frown on his muzzle. A glance revealed Lukas leaving the room, and the cougar finally let out a sigh of relief, placing a paw on his chest and just listening to his rapidly-beating heart. Once more he had nearly given in and walked over to the collie, just trying to talk to him. Every time he saw the canine, though, Caleb had always found himself at a loss for words, choked up and unable to think of anything to say. It made him look silly, but he couldn't help it any more than he could help needing to breathe; it just happened. And every time he failed he'd watch Lukas walk out of the room with a sad, kicked-puppy look on his muzzle that just made the cougar feel horrible. He didn't understand why the collie was so upset, but that expression alone made him wish he had just strode over there and given the big canine a hug, silly as that sounded.

Most wouldn't have believed it, or would have found it odd, but Caleb actually liked the big mutt. There was just something so cute and huggable about him that a lot of people didn't see; they saw the weight as a sign of sloth and gluttony, whereas he saw the person as a whole, rather than just their size. Besides, he secretly had a thing for bigger guys. The cougar just loved the idea of curling up against a nice warm belly, snuggling in close and feeling secure with someone really huge. He had an odd dream too, of helping someone get bigger and bigger, just like that, making him all the more huggable and lovable. Caleb couldn't really see himself putting on weight; he was far too self conscious. But someone else... well, that would just be amazing. And one particular collie came to mind for that very situation.

But again this brought Caleb back around full circle. He knew what he wanted, but he was just unable to approach Lukas. Surely if he did, the collie would think it was some kind of prank. The cougar hadn't really tried for it, yet had become surprisingly well-known since he had come to the college, and most people would find it odd that the 'cool kid' would fall for an overweight wallflower that hardly anyone knew. Somehow, that reputation that he had never wanted in the first place was now preventing him from the one thing he wanted. How was he supposed to approach Lukas and tell him without being turned away? The situation seemed hopeless.

Slinging his bag over his shoulder, Caleb shook his head and went out the door with a sigh, just as Lukas had before. As he exited, a sad song started playing in his headphones, and for once, he didn't change it and let the song fill his ears.

Lukas groaned as he took the last few steps up to his apartment, trying to remind himself why he had chosen a spot on the third floor. It had been some kind of scheduling thing that he had been running behind for, and had ended up with him getting something two long flights of stairs above the ground level. With his heavy backpack added onto his own considerable weight, the collie was panting heavily before he was halfway up the second flight. Wiping at his sweating brow as he reached his floor, he groaned and leaned against the wall, trying to catch his breath. He hated stairs more than anything else, they had to be the bane of his existence. Well, those and steep hills.

The only good thing about the stairs was that the exercise had built up Lukas's appetite quite nicely, which fit his need to stuff himself anyway. Sometimes food was the only answer to another bad day, and the collie wholly endorsed that policy. He patted his large belly as he mentally planned out what he'd be filling it with. There were all sorts of snacks in his cupboard and fridge, both of which were refilled almost twice a week and sometimes more depending on his appetite. Everything was meant to be as filling as possible; Lukas absolutely loved that feeling of being stuffed, his belly and clothes tight as could be. Cakes and light breads were pushed aside for more substantial things, like cookies and crackers, so that he could really fill himself up until his gut could hold no more. There was nothing like that feeling.

Throwing open his door, the collie tossed his heavy bag aside on the small sofa that his apartment had been outfitted with. It was meant for two, though with Lukas it was more like one and a half, if that; he tended to fill up a good deal of the couch. The rest of his small living room was outfitted with a decent-sized TV and a large table that usually was laden with food containers or pizza boxes. The collie hadn't prepared his dinner yet, though; he'd feed himself in front of the TV later. For now, though, he needed something to fill his stomach and take his mind off of yet another day at school, another day of watching Caleb silently.

The thought brought a grumble from Lukas's stomach, more of discomfort and unhappiness than one of hunger. The collie sighed again, thinking of the cougar, and immediately headed to dig through the cupboard. Two boxes of chocolate chip cookies and a large package of saltines were placed on the counter, along with a quart of milk from the refrigerator, and then the whole ensemble was brought out to the living room to be placed on the table. There wasn't a mug for the milk, or any sort of plate for the food; Lukas just preferred to eat directly out of the containers. It saved time that could be used on actually eating! It was a mystery why some people even bothered.

The first box of cookies was torn open as Lukas flipped on the TV, browsing through the channels without aim. The collie paused momentarily on cartoons, chuckling as he watched some random wolf fattened up to amazing sizes; if only life was like a cartoon! He could eat all he wanted and gain all he wanted. It would be a piece of cake! But no, life wasn't so simple. Instead he had to eat daily and avoid every form of exercise (except those stairs; there was no avoiding the cursed things!) and hope that he didn't burn more than he ate up. That didn't seem to happen very often though, and at the rate he was going, Lukas didn't imagine he'd be getting anywhere soon.

That in itself wasn't as much of a problem to the collie though; his main pleasure wasn't so much in gaining as it was in just stuffing himself full. He did enjoy that he was bigger, and it was nice to have a huge soft belly, but it wasn't a huge goal of his. The only reason Lukas actually liked being big and heavy was because it would be perfect for cuddling. Provided that he actually found someone to do so, the collie would enjoy endlessly holding someone close, snuggling against them and just showing them how much he loved another's presence. Of course, there was really only one 'someone' that he wanted to do it with, and there was no guarantee that he would want the same thing.

Sighing, Lukas broke open the other package of cookies, stuffing them into his muzzle one after another. It no longer mattered to him what was on the TV; he had just stopped caring at this point. The food was downed quickly, and the milk uncapped only to have three-fourths of it chugged down in a minute or two. Lukas let out a soft groan as he felt the liquid hit his filling belly, making it feel even tighter and slosh as it pushed his shirt out slightly. Putting down the remains of the milk, he reached up to rub at his tighter belly, scritching along the surface. Right now it felt slightly swollen, crammed with a lot of milk as well as two large boxes of cookies. The sweatshirt he usually wore over his round gut was tight enough that it actually slipped up slightly, revealing about half an inch of his fluffy white belly fur, though it stopped short of the navel. Groaning again, the collie undid the button on his jeans as well, letting his belly spill out into his lap with a sigh of relief now that it was no longer restrained.

Idly rubbing at the large surface, Lukas leaned back and wondered what Caleb would think if he saw him like this. With a frown, the collie stopped, sitting up again. The cougar probably found the overweight canine disgusting, like a blob of lazy fat. Lukas had to wonder if perhaps that would make the difference; if he were slim, or at least not as big as he was now, would Caleb like him more? He could lose some weight, maybe trim a few inches off of his waistline, and then try. There were always stories about how a better body inspired more confidence, and maybe between that and a decent appearance, he could win the cougar over. It couldn't hurt to try, right?

Lukas's stomach let out another grumble of protest as he considered his thoughts, mulling things over. No, he couldn't just up and lose the weight; it was almost like a part of who he was. He enjoyed eating so much that even if he tried the diet and exercise would fail miserably. Another grumble came at the thought of those two words, the bane of everything the collie had worked on for the last few years. But he slapped at his belly in irritation, the idea starting to plant firmly in his mind. It really seemed impossible, something he could never accomplish, but... there was always a chance if he gave it a try, right? If worst came to worst he could always revert and go overboard on the eating to regain his weight...

The more he thought about it, the more the idea seemed grudgingly appealing. Caleb certainly seemed like the type to like someone in decent shape with some good looks, and Lukas was sure he could fill that spot, given some time. The collie had been told that he looked rather cute at several times, and with a bit of weight loss he could possibly enhance that to handsome. It was a long shot, but thoughts of the cougar grinning and potentially approaching him overrode any doubts and fears that Lukas felt. He swallowed back a bit of nausea at just the thought of all of the exercise he'd be doing, but he knew it was worth it.

With that resolve firmly in mind, the collie finished the box of crackers and the remainder of the milk, marking it as the last big binge before he started on his path to become a whole new fur.

Caleb rolled over in his bed, his music player set on the nightstand beside him. The cougar had been feeling unusually uncomfortable all night, unable to find a comfortable position. He didn't know what it was that was bothering him; usually the feline slept well and without any difficulties. Maybe it was the collie on his mind; Lukas had looked particularly off today, and Caleb had been feeling down since he had seen that expression. He sighed and rolled over again before pushing back his covers and just sitting up at the edge of his bed.

The cougar had stripped his shirt off in the evening's heat, revealing his soft, smooth torso. His paws ran absently over his gentle fur, flattening any tufts sticking out from when he was laying under the covers. His paws kicked back and forth absently as he stared at the wall, wondering just what was bothering him. It wasn't any one thing that he could put his paw on; the cougar just had a feeling like something was wrong, out of place. It was one of those weird feelings of premonition that was nagging at him. Something felt like it was changing, though again he couldn't feel what. Maybe it was his feelings; he had only just decided fully that he had liked Lukas, and was eventually going to approach him once he figured something out. Before he had just been watching the collie and just been somewhat attracted to him; now he was determined to find a way to fix things so that he could be with him.

Maybe if he put on a bit of weight to show he was serious as well; though Caleb was very picky about his figure, he decided that it was worth the sacrifice, even for a short time. Perhaps he could put some on as a show of sincerity, and then when Lukas believed him he could shed it. It wasn't like he had the worst metabolism; Caleb figured that he could lose thirty or forty pounds quickly, should he choose to go with that route. Heck, he might not even lose the weight if he liked it. But then again, it could be taken wrong, and the cougar wasn't really sure that he would be able to keep himself motivated when it came to gaining. His stomach grew queasy even if he overate the slightest, and the amounts that he'd need to consume to put on weight would probably keep him violently ill. He didn't want people to think that he was bulimic!

Sighing once more, Caleb stood and strode through the halls of his apartment to head to his mini-den. The room was a mix of entertainment systems, game consoles, and a large-screen TV that his parents had given him when he had moved to college. A trio of large bean-bag chairs had been set in the room for friends; one was slightly off by itself, while the other two were close together. The last time he had company, Caleb had a pair of friends over who were dating, so they had sat close the entire time. But now that there was no one occupying it, the cougar could almost see the pair used for one plus-sized collie, and then he could snuggle up his own right next to it...

Shaking his head to clear the minor fantasy, the feline collapsed on his own beanbag, pulling out a remote and flickering between channels. He stopped at a sports channel, watching a few minutes of a random basketball game before getting bored and changing over to a documentary on obesity. The show reminded him of Lukas, which again left him feeling a mix of shame at being unable to approach him and a bit of sadness that he might not be able to have him. The TV was flicked off again, leaving the room silent as Caleb settled back into his beanbag chair. He wished he hadn't left his music player in his room; some music might have helped right now. Instead he found himself sinking against the beanbag as his eyes closed to sleep, cuddling it close and imagining it as Lukas, holding him close and safe.

The next day was the beginning of a new start for Lukas, but he dreaded every second of it as he rolled out of bed to plan his changed routine. No longer could he laze away until two in the afternoon on the weekends; instead, he had to be up and ready to go, eating a small breakfast before he headed to the one place he dreaded more than any other: the gym. This particular gym had advertised several success stories for weight loss, showing several males who had gone from guts almost as impressive as Lukas's to a cut and trim physique that looked like it was on the way to a modeling contract. That was promising, in a way; maybe with a really ripped body, Caleb would be all over him. Of course, Lukas knew what the ads didn't mention: how much hard work went into the actual conditioning.

Groaning as he realized just how much work that would be, Lukas reached for one of his mixing bowls, the larger substitute for the cereal bowls that most used. He paused, realizing that he had almost given into his daily habits for larger amounts of food. Grimacing, he replaced the bowl and dug through the drawers. It took a few minutes, but he found a smaller one more suited for his new regime. The bowl was filled to the brim with cereal and milk; though Lukas was planning on slimming down, he wasn't going for broke right away. He was going to ease into his new diet, take it one step at a time. If he wanted to really slim down for Caleb's sake, the collie was going to have to take it one step at a time.

Finishing up his small meal, Lukas felt his stomach growl with a need to be filled more, but somehow managed to ignore it. He had to eat less, and he had to work harder; that was the only way he'd be able to lose some weight. The collie wasn't going to give up on his goal, no matter what. He had a good reason to keep his progress going. Once he was done, the dishes put away, the collie strode through his apartment back to his bedroom, booting up his computer. It only took a few minutes to find the gym's location online and print off a map. From there, he grabbed a bag and stuffed a pair of shorts (spandex, with an elastic waist; nothing else would fit properly) and a t-shirt into it before heading out the door.

The trip to the gym was a decent-length walk, but Lukas refused to take the bus to get there. If he was to lose weight, it had to start with even the smaller things. The walk was perhaps a mile and a half total, taking a half hour and two rest stops for the overweight collie. By the time he actually reached the gym, he was already considering calling it a day and heading back home. Sweat was pouring down the poor canine's face and soaking his fur slightly, just from that walk! Lukas swore that, should he fail in this attempt to lose weight, he was never going to try again, handsome cougar or no. It was just too hard to move that much collie around like that; transportation was around for a reason!

The gym was a large building, larger than Lukas would have expected despite its popularity. The facility made the collie think of his old high school comparatively, with several wings off of the large main portion. The building itself was a vibrant white, shining out against the dull gray concrete jungle around it. Furs were going in and out of the front door, a mixed crowd; there were a few slightly overweight ones and quite a few trim ones, but the majority of them were surprisingly bulked up muscled males, grinning and showing off to the ladies in hopes of getting their attention. Few actually got it, and it was no wonder; most of the guys weren't just muscled, they were huge, and to the point that it looked ridiculous. They tried to be bodybuilders and overdid it. Lukas winced as he realized just how much they must have worked out for bodies like that, and the thought was horrible. Who actually liked sweating that much?

Shaking his head, Lukas walked past the big muscle furs, surprised when one actually gave him a wink and flexed for him. The collie shivered and walked past, purposely averting his gaze to the posing tiger's disappointment. The canine was gay, and he wasn't ashamed of it in the least, but there was no way he'd be interested in any buff bodybuilder! The smell of sweat always made his nose want to fall off, and those muscles looked like rocks: stiff and uncomfortable to rest up against. Beyond that fact, those pumped-up muscleheads acted like they owned the world, like being bigger and bulkier made them better than everyone. Lukas never aspired to gain any muscle; all he was aiming to do was slim down a bit and hopefully pique Caleb's interest.

Even that might be too much for him, though, and Lukas knew as much. Still, he was determined to try, which was why he strode past that front door purposely, tightening his grip on his bag. The collie walked right up to the reception desk without hesitation and declared that he had come to get a good workout session, no buts about it. The tabby behind the desk had given Lukas a funny look at his declaration, covering her mouth with one paw to stop a giggle before pointing the way towards the exercise rooms. The collie gave her a grateful nod and waddled his way back, idly wondering what was so funny. Did it really that odd to see someone want to lose weight? Maybe she was flirting or found him cute or something. Either way, women were just another mystery to life that Lukas didn't care to pursue.

The room that Lukas was directed to was fairly spacious, a good hundred square feet in size. The perimeter was lined with treadmills, a good number of them already occupied. The collie watched in awe at a cheetah that had his going at an amazing rate; if he hadn't been on the treadmill, he would have slammed through the wall at that speed. There were plenty of others that were running at a more reasonable pace, though, and Lukas watched for a few minutes, trying to figure out if there was a good speed he was using. Unfortunately, most of the furs were fairly lithe or thin, so he couldn't make an apt comparison.

Taking a minute to step out to a locker room for changing, Lukas squeezed into his workout outfit. He noted with a grunt that his shorts were a bit tighter than he last remembered. Of course, he hadn't worn them in a year or two, so it wasn't a surprise that the fit had changed. Still, they stretched enough that he could get them on comfortably, though he couldn't say the same for his shirt. The t-shirt stopped about halfway down his belly, the rest of his black-and-white gut sticking out like a half-concealed beach ball. Grunting, the collie tried a few times to get it down, but had no success and in the end just gave up. Tucking his regular clothing into his bag and securing it in a locker, he headed back towards the treadmill room, swallowing as he realized he was about to do the one thing he had refused to go through with in the last couple of years.

The treadmill he chose was out of the way compared to the others, which was more to Lukas's liking. He wasn't too fond of the ideas watching his feeble attempts to lose weight and laughing at his mistakes, after all. Stepping on the cool surface, the collie gripped the handlebars that were supposed to help secure the runner's balance, though most tended not to use them. Glancing over the console, he stared for a moment, trying to figure out how it worked. It was pretty simple; there was a switch to raise or lower the speed, as well as one to alter the elevation. There was also a sort of safety key if it was too fast for the runner or he couldn't stop it suddenly enough; all he had to do was tug and it'd come loose, stopping the treadmill. Lukas wasn't sure what the elevation was for, but he did understand running at different speeds.

Starting off at a slow walking pace, 2 mph, Lukas took his time and just got used to the constant walking. His gait was restricted a bit by the side rails, making it hard to use his usual waddling step, but he figured he would get used to it when he lost some weight first. Still, getting back to a standard walk was a bit odd, and each time he lifted his leg forward to take a step his knee would bump his low-hanging gut, causing it to bounce and jiggle slightly. Slowly the collie found a compromise between a 'normal' gait and his usual waddle that reduced the amount of bouncing and shaking his body did as he walked. He began to get increasingly comfortable with the pace, smiling to himself as he did so. If losing weight was this easy, then he could definitely do it.

"Um... hey, big guy."

Lukas looked over with a cheerful grin at the speaker, noting it to be the cheetah from before. The lithe feline was definitely built for running, with enough tone to prove he kept his body in shape without being one of those bulky bodybuilders outside. He wore a t-shirt with the gym's name across it; perhaps he was a trainer there. Lukas smiled again, continuing his pace. Maybe the guy was going to comment on his good start?

"...Y'know, if you're trying to actually lose weight, you're going about it wrong. You'd need to at least get to a light jog."

Lukas's smile fell, and the collie let the machine stop, the jovial look replaced with a frown. He settled against the handrail, his belly pressing up against it as he did so. "What do you mean? I'm exercising, that should help me lose weight, right?"

The cheetah shook his head. "You're not pushing your body to work harder. Weight loss only works by burning the stored energy, or fat, and that's only accomplished by your heart pumping faster and your body actively working. At that leisurely pace, you're not likely to lose an ounce. Here, let me help. Start off walking again and we'll go from there."

Doubtingly, Lukas started off at a walking pace, the same gait that he had before. The cheetah leaned against his bar, his paw above the speed button as he waited for Lukas to get used to it again. Once he was adjusted, he pushed it five times, increasing the speed to two and a half miles per hour. This still wasn't an issue for Lukas, and he kept up with it easily. Thought he had moved into a faster walk at this time and it was harder to maintain his new stance with the speed. Slowly though, he adjusted, and found himself getting into the new walk pretty easily. He adjusted to it, and soon was treating it like a casual walk. The cheetah trainer gave him an approving nod, smiling at him.

"There you go, look, you're already going faster. But this is still child's play and won't get you anywhere. Let's jump up to a slow jog now."

"Alright, a slow... wait, what?"

The button for speed was pressed down again, and held in place until the reading said four and a half miles per hour. Suddenly, Lukas found that the floor beneath him was moving nearly twice as fast, causing him to run at first to keep up, his belly bouncing all over the place and his body feeling like jello until he ran into the console at the front of the treadmill. Panting heavily, the collie slowed his pace slightly, still pressing up against the machinery slightly but with less pressure now. After a few seconds he managed to find the right pace, slowing to a light jog as the cheetah had said. He was unable to maintain the balanced gait he had before though, causing his stomach and chest to bounce with each step, messing his balance up and making it harder for him to keep going. Within seconds he was panting heavily, and sweat was starting to pour down his face, and he felt his breathing coming hard. Fumbling around, he found the emergency stop key and pulled it free, letting the treadmill slow to a stop.

"What, you done already, big guy? Man, you must be really out of shape if you can't handle that pace long." Lukas shot the cheetah an acrid look, and the feline backed down, grinning apologetically. "Sorry, man, just calling it as I see it. Anyway, you've got the idea of it now; slowly increase the pace until you're at your max, and keep at that until you become comfortable with it. Keep pushing yourself like that and you'll slim down in no time. Good luck with your workout!"

The cheetah left at that point to continue on his own treadmill, immediately turning it on and holding the button down as he ran faster and faster, probably topping thirty miles an hour before he stopped pressing it, running quickly to keep up with it. His muzzle was set in a look of determination and delight that Lukas would never even pretend to understand, and with a sigh, the collie went back to his own workout. He only had to do this for a little while; when he'd lost a little weight, he could make a vow never to come back to these hell machines. For now though, there was little choice, and he resignedly started the treadmill up, working gently back up to the speed he had just gotten in trouble at.

Caleb let out a loud yawn as he stepped into the gym, already dressed in his workout outfit. The cougar generally visited the place on weekends for the sake of keeping in shape, doing a little bit of running each time. He didn't lift, nor did he try to do any muscle-building exercises. Instead, the feline aimed merely to keep slimmed down, doing cardio runs to keep him fit. Dressed in a pair of loose shorts and a sleeveless tank top, he gave a wave to the receptionist and stated back towards the rooms with the treadmills. After nearly a year of coming to the same gym, Caleb knew where everything was and could easily direct anyone to any section of the building.

The room was the same as always, with a large number of treadmills, half or so occupied. The gym had been built to support a large amount of clientele, as a city location required, so there was always at least a few machines open for use. Caleb headed to see if his favorite one off by itself was open; it was placed near a window, and the cougar loved to feel the sunlight on his skin while he ran. Since it was the furthest one away from the entrance, it was rarely taken. Most people preferred to just get to their workout, getting the nearer machines going and starting their running. It was a nice way to keep his shape, and the feline strode towards it with a grin on his muzzle.

The grin dropped as he heard the whirring sound of his usual treadmill running, and he realized that someone was using it. Tilting his head with a frown, Caleb looked up... and then his frown deepened even worse. He knew who was using his treadmill; after all, how could he forget that rounded face that he loved so much? Lukas was jogging at a slow pace on the treadmill, his fur starting to mat with sweat as he ran. Every twenty seconds or so, he would slow the pace to catch his breath and wipe away some of the perspiration on his brow before resuming the higher speed again. He certainly seemed to be working hard, and the collie had a very determined look on his muzzle, like he had a goal or something in mind.

At first, Caleb was a bit mesmerized, watching his crush run as he was. That large gut of his bounced with each step, making it look even more squishy and cuddly, as well as his chest. Even his rump got into the act, creating a strangely attractive image for the cougar. That staring soon faded into something like worry Caleb started to wonder why Lukas was doing it. Running generally meant losing weight, and if he was trying to lose weight, what would that mean? Why would that big canine want to lose weight? After all, he looked great! If anything, Caleb wanted the opposite; he wanted Lukas to eat until he was full to burst, and then some, to round that belly out with more flab, to get so big that even his stretched spandex clothing couldn't contain him and then keep going.

Pondering over why, a sinking feeling entered Caleb's heart. There was a cheetah standing right next to the overweight collie, patting his shoulder and grinning encouragingly. Maybe Lukas had found someone that he liked already, and was trying to slim down for him. It was possible that he had someone to date now, that cheetah perhaps, and the feline was trying to help him get healthy and stay that way. After all, that was definitely more responsible, looking out for your partner like that. But the realization that there could be someone else to take his sweet, fat collie away made Caleb's eyes well up slightly, his ears pinning back. Was there really no chance for him to have that big mutt as his own? All because he hadn't had the guts to admit to Lukas that he liked him?

The cougar took a different treadmill than his usual, near Lukas but not trying to be oppressively close. He wasn't really interested in his workout, though, and ended up jogging at a sluggish pace not far above the collie's. His head hung slightly, and in the end Caleb couldn't really get into his run. With a sigh he stopped his treadmill, leaning against the bars and letting his gaze go over to Lukas once more, watching him run. Then his eyes roamed over to the cheetah standing nearby, and he growled, his ears pinning back again. Once more the slow, sad music started playing in his ears, but this time Caleb just shut off the music player and tucked it in his pocket. He turned to leave, no longer caring about his workout. It didn't matter if he stayed or not, so instead he headed out the door to take a long walk. He didn't care where he went.

Lukas finally pulled the key out from the treadmill, feeling completely worn out. He had only been running for about fifteen minutes or so, but the collie was already feeling worn out. His fur was soaked with sweat, and his legs felt like jelly, but he resolved to take only a short break. If he didn't get at least an hour's workout in, he was going to feel ashamed. However, he had only been going for a fourth of that time and he felt like he was going to collapse. Was it really worth doing?

No, it was. Lukas reminded himself of his goal and took a deep breath, stepping back on the treadmill. He started picking up the speed again, pushing down the button to get it back up to where it had been before. Glancing to the side as he did so, the collie was surprised to see a certain cougar walking away. He hadn't noticed Caleb in the gym before, though it may have been for the better. Lukas knew he probably would have fled had he known the object of his affection was standing there watching. Now the collie felt oddly self-conscious, wondering just how long the feline had been there. Surely it hadn't been long, since Lukas hadn't noticed, but it was odd that he'd be leaving if he had just gotten there.

Then he noticed the look on Caleb's face as the cougar left, and a cold feeling ran down his spine. Lukas blinked, wondering if what he had saw was real, but he was fairly sure; there had been a very downhearted and sad expression crossing the male's muzzle. The collie's own muzzle twisted into a frown, and he wondered what had happened. Trying to piece things together, it didn't make any sense. Caleb would have come in for a few minutes, stopped, and something had made him turn around and leave. The only thing that had happened during that time was Lukas running on the treadmill with the cheetah helping him get going. There couldn't have been much to cause an issue, right?

Then a thought hit him like a punch to a thin fur's stomach; maybe Caleb was jealous? Lukas's heart sank as he realized that the cougar might have found a fellow feline attractive, especially since he had a toned, in-shape body. The collie could see the appeal himself, but his heart was on one particular male; Caleb may not have had the same inhibition. In fact, what if he had his heart set on the very cheetah that was helping him out? And what if he was jealous? The thought was just horrifying, and Lukas wondered if what he was doing was for nothing.

Forgetting where his paw was while he was thinking, Lukas didn't notice until it was too late that he had been holding down the speed up button until it was well over ten miles per hour. The sudden burst of speed caught the collie off-guard and he slipped, falling flat on his front to be thrown off of the treadmill and slide a few feet along the ground. Fortunately, his large belly absorbed most of the impact of his fall, but the jeers and laughs from the other patrons caused him to feel horrible anyway. Lukas's face went bright red as he pushed himself to his feet, rubbing at his sore front and quickly hurrying out of the room. He just wanted to get out of there; the diet plan was horrible, and now it was fruitless too. Caleb didn't want him, and he never would.

Lukas didn't even bother changing clothes; he just took his bag from the locker and headed out of the gym, eager to get out of there as fast as possible. The collie fumbled for his wallet to get his bus pass, but he found that he had left the card at home by accident. Grumbling to himself, feeling more and more miserable by the second, the big canine turned to walk home. He knew it would be a long walk and dreaded every moment that would come, but he didn't really have much of a choice. Once he was home, he'd stuff himself into unconsciousness and then go mope from there; after all, the only thing he really wanted, the guy that he had fallen for, couldn't be his. How could he do anything but feel dejected?

The walk left Lukas plenty of time to think things over, and the more he did so, the worse he felt. He should have known better than to get his hopes up with Caleb; the cougar was popular, handsome, in good shape, and had an amazing personality. By contrast, Lukas was overweight, distant, a wallflower, and barely average looking. It was a stupid idea, to think that Caleb would ever like him. The collie wasn't even sure where he had gotten the thought.

The smell of baked sweets caught Lukas's nose as he walked, and they only barely registered on his gloom-shrouded mind. Still, there was nothing that could distract the collie from food, and with his current mood, it was exactly what he needed. His diet was a bust, the purpose of it gone, so he might as well just go the other way. In fact, that'd just what he'd do. As a sort of defiant fist-shake at the world and its cultural need for slim furs, he was going to eat until he exploded, he would put on all the weight that he could and then say "Hah, take that you stupid thin-focused society!" Yeah, that was perfect! It wasn't like he had a chance with anyone anyway, so he was going to enjoy his life regardless of what everyone said! He'd be huge, larger than life, so big that he would be a legend!

With grief-stricken thoughts driving him forward, the collie practically slammed through the front door of the bakery, taking his wallet out of his pocket and demanding a large box of sticky pastries. On top of that came an order for as many sweet rolls as the remainder of his money would allow, which was a good three dozen or so. Once the boxes were placed in his paws, Lukas slammed the money down and headed out the door, immediately popping open the top box open. A paw took one of the glazed pastries he had ordered and crammed it towards the canine's eager muzzle, the treat torn in half before the other half was crammed into his full cheeks. He choked it down, chewing it to pieces before swallowing it, feeling the sweet, sugary frosting coating his tongue and making his whole body surge with pleasure at that feeling of delicious food inside him. The next was downed almost as quickly, and the one after that.

After a minute of this and half of the box of pastries was gone, Lukas found a wooden bench and sat down, placing the remainder of his food next to him. Ignoring the few stares he got from people walking past, the collie downed another two sweets, tearing them apart without hesitation and quickly swallowing them too. He was on a feeding frenzy, the taste of sugar in his muzzle was more than enough to drive him over the edge. Pastry after pastry was gone in seconds, and about five minutes later, the large box was completely empty, leaving him to lap up the remaining frosting for a few seconds before tossing the box aside.

A tug at his stomach caused Lukas to look down, and he realized that his t-shirt's hem was biting slightly into his gut. The bottom two inches of the fat white mass were sticking out, unable to be contained by the straining fabric, and the soft navel was revealed. Grinning, feeling that tightness in his clothing, the collie reached down to rub at his large stomach. The feeling of that flab shifting beneath his paw was just amazing, and he actually paused from his temporary binge to heft his large stomach. He loved being fat, and now that he had no reason to be otherwise, he was going to take that to the extreme! He was going to be huge, enormous!

A quick survey on the status of the rest of his clothing showed that everything had drawn tighter. His little bout of frenzied eating had not only canceled out what little exercise he had done, it had actually taken him the other direction! A paw pressed into his slightly heavier chest, feeling more fat pressing right back, and the same thing greeted him as he tested his large rump, which filled up nearly two-thirds of the bench anyway. His arms felt a bit constricted in his sleeves, and the same went for his legs in the tight shorts he was wearing. Another grin crossed Lukas's face as he realized that he was fatter, even if just by a bit. There was just something wonderful about being fat, and it was getting better as he grew.

The sweet rolls were next, the first dozen torn open as Lukas eagerly started in on them. The first one was popped into his muzzle whole before he bit into the next one, chewing the mix up before swallowing heavily. The sugar-sweetened breads were like heaven to him, melting in his muzzle and just causing him to squirm with delight. The next two, then four, were all downed, half of the dozen already gone in a mere two minutes. Four more were quickly torn apart, leaving only two more in the first dozen. Lukas was feeling his appetite grow by the second; did his newfound gluttony know no bounds? He certainly hoped not, he had another two boxes to go! He grinned as he started planning ahead; there was a lot of food at home, so after he finished here, he'd have another huge feast to clean the place out!

Oh, it was going to be a night for eating for sure... and hopefully a night for forgetting sadness and loneliness.

Caleb sighed, taking his headphones from his ears again as he strode down the street. He didn't know where he was going, wandering aimlessly as he tried to figure out some way to deal with the ache in his heart. A soft, slow song had just been playing a moment ago, a gentle elegy to match the coldness that filled his body. All he could think about was that image back at the gym, with Lukas and that cheetah cheerfully chatting, both seeming very happy and content as the collie worked away the body that Caleb adored more than anything else. Every time he ran it through his mind, the cougar felt that gloom deepen until it got to the point that even walking seemed fruitless. Slowly he started looking around for somewhere to sit so that maybe he could try and perk up a little.

Another few minutes of wandering brought him over to a large bakery, the smell of baked goods wafting out tantalizingly. Caleb couldn't find any sort of appetite, though, and continued to walk past without a care. He imagined taking Lukas to a place like that and letting him go crazy eating. The collie would look good downing all that food down, allowing his belly to be rubbed and scritched and massaged the whole time. He could almost see it now, the big mutt's belly almost past his knees at that point, barely fitting into whatever clothing they could scavenge for a fur of his size, and a smile on his wide muzzle. The cougar would be right beside him, held tight against that fat frame, feeling warm and secure all together.

Caleb tried to dispel that image with a sigh, waving his paw in the air as a physical attempt to fan away the thoughts. But the image stayed with him, visions of a large collie stuffing himself with food, eagerly cramming it all into his muzzle. For a moment the cougar thought he was just getting too fixated on his thoughts... before he realized that he was actually looking at the very thing he had been visualizing.

Lukas was sitting on a bench, two empty boxes next to him while he dug into the contents of a third. He was chowing down on a large container of sweet rolls, crumbs and frosting stuck to his lips and his fingertips. The collie seemed blissfully content as he completely tossed aside the running he had been doing earlier, instead content on working his belly over his muscles. Each bite seemed almost mesmerizing to Caleb as he watched, and for a moment he wanted to go over there and feed the rest to Lukas himself, but the thoughts of the cheetah before caused him to hesitate. What if the collie was already taken? The advance might be taken wrong, and then things would be even worse. But hesitation could also cost him, if he had been wrong. Taking a deep breath, Caleb strode forward, his mind made up. He wasn't going to miss another chance.

It was time to go all in.

Lukas glanced up as he heard someone approaching, thinking for a moment it was someone coming to admonish him for eating so rashly and rudely in public. He prepared a simple retort, something along the classic line of "Frankly, my dear, I couldn't give a damn," and looked up to speak. Then his jaw dropped. Caleb was standing there, looking uncomfortable and nervous. Looking at the empty boxes beside him and the two sweet rolls in his paw, Lukas swallowed heavily, feeling horribly self-conscious. Had the cougar been watching his binge, and if so, what did he think about it? He probably saw the collie as a fat slob now, and any chance that he had to win Caleb back was gone. It wasn't like he had much of one anyway, but the thought hurt.

Fumbling with the food in his paw, he put the rolls back in their box and closed it up, hurriedly wiping at his muzzle. "I-I, uh... I'm sorry... you had to... um... watch that..."

Caleb sat down slowly next to Lukas, taking up the remainder of the bench, his shoulder and arm pressing into that large belly lightly. He glanced over with a tilt of his head, an odd expression on his muzzle. "Why'd you stop? If you're hungry, you should eat. Besides, you've got another box to finish as well... would be a shame to let it go to waste. C'mon, it's fine."

Lukas blinked, completely confused. He had expected to be lectured and put down, or treated negatively, but here he was encouraged to continue eating. Unsure, the collie grabbed one roll and offered it to Caleb, though it was declined, and then ate it himself. The cougar seemed to grin encouragingly, placing his paw on Lukas's wide thigh, gesturing for him to continue. Seeing the collie's hesitation though, he took the nearly-empty box and set it across his own lap, taking out a roll and holding it before the canine's muzzle.

"C'mon, big guy, open up. We have another box to finish after this, and we can't have you stopping now!"

Uncertainly, Lukas opened his muzzle and had the sweet roll tossed into it, swallowing gratefully. The sugary taste was great on his tongue, truly delicious, but he barely noticed it as his fogged mind started realizing something. Caleb wasn't putting him down or treating him badly for his weight... he was actually feeding him. Could it be possible that he didn't have an issue with the collie's size? It was a long shot, and a high hope, but for a moment, Lukas really felt his heart lift again, and he eagerly wagged his tail as the next one was held out for him to chow down quickly. The two continued back and forth until the box in Caleb's lap was done, and then it was put aside with the other empty ones.

Lukas let out a sigh and pressed his paws to his belly, rubbing it happily as he felt that content fullness again. Caleb glanced over with a chuckle before scritching at one of the collie's wide sides, feeling the soft fat beneath his paws. It was just as he imagined it, and it felt good to just rub at it like that. The two just sat there, enjoying each other's company or a few minutes, smiling contently.

Finally though, Lukas broke the silence. "I... um... I didn't... realize you were okay with bigger guys. I figured you'd be ready to lecture me to lose weight or something..."

Caleb shook his head vehemently. "No, no! You've got the completely wrong idea. I... well, I've always liked larger furs. Like... they look all warm, comfy, secure, and cuddly. I look at your belly and I could see myself snuggling agains-" He cut himself off, his tan fur barely hiding the bright red blush on his cheeks. "A-ah... I'm sorry, I really am! I didn't mean to sound forward. I mean, I'm sure you already have someone, with how you were working out earlier..."

"Nah, I'm single. I was... well, I've been watching someone for a long time, and that's who I was trying to lose weight for. Today, I ran into him... I ran into you, Caleb. When you stormed out of the gym, I thought you were with that trainer or something and got the wrong impression when he was helping me work out. I didn't realize... you probably had the same thought with me, huh!"

Caleb nodded, almost numbly. Lukas had been watching him, and trying to lose weight for him? He had really liked him too? It was almost too good to be true, and for a moment he wondered if he was dreaming. Then a pinch on his arm from the grinning collie snapped him into reality. "Ow! What was that for?"

"You had that 'pinch me, I'm dreaming' look on your face. I already pinched myself, so I figured you could use the wakeup call too."

Once more Caleb blushed, but this time his muzzle broke into a slow smile as he leaned sideways, placing his head on Lukas's side, feeling that warm body against his as he pushed himself against him and let out a gentle purr. The collie responded by wrapping an arm around the cougar's shoulders and pulling him in tightly to hug him close, in the process slipping his shirt up another inch. Chuckling, Caleb rubbed at the large belly that was partially exposed before giving it a playful slap and feeling it jiggle back and forth. For a moment the last box of food was forgotten, but then both looked over at the same time and laughed as they saw it sitting there. Lukas reached over for it, but Caleb got it first and kept it away, grinning.

"Nuh-uh! We're getting you home first, then there will be plenty of time to eat. People are starting to stare out here, and I want to have some privacy while I stuff my puppy to blimp sizes!"

Lukas squirmed at the words, his paws curling up in excitement. Caleb wasn't only into fat furs, but he was into fattening them too? This wasn't just a dream come true; it was a miracle! The collie gave the feline a tight squeeze of bliss before remembering something else. "Wait... you just said 'your puppy.' Does... does this mean...?"

Caleb took that chance; he couldn't afford to hesitate, not when he was this close to the prize. "Lukas... do you wanna be my boyfriend? I'd love... just having you close, to be able to cuddle you tight and feed you and be with you always..." He took another deep breath. "...And I would love to be yours, too..."

Lukas was left speechless, and for a moment all that came out was a jumbled garble. Then he swallowed, and without hesitation said the four words that were on his mind, the only ones that worked. "I'd love to, Caleb." Then, without hesitation, he leaned forward and gave the cougar a soft kiss on his muzzle, his paws shaking as he did so.

Caleb was stunned, but he quickly returned the kiss, softly, lovingly, giving the collie a tight hug around the neck before grinning and pulling free, pressing his nose to Lukas's with a grin, his heart feeling like it would pop out of his chest with joy. "Love you, my big puppy."

"You too, kitten. Now, shall we get home? I do believe you mentioned food..."

A week went by, and then a month, and finally a year. The entire time, the two stayed together, working through college as a couple while Lukas continued to gain. Caleb had encouraged him the whole way, constantly bringing home food and learning to cook until he was as good as any professional. The two made a great pair, complementing each other constantly. Lukas loved to eat, loved to gain, and was more than eager to reward the cougar with all the cuddles that he wanted. That alone was more than enough incentive for Caleb to work harder, especially as the collie started putting on weight rather rapidly again. Each day seemed to bring new pounds and tighter clothing.

Finally, a year later, the two had seen a short plateau in Lukas's progress. It was hardly a problem though; in nearly a year of stuffing and feeding, the collie had made extraordinary gains. Seven hundred pounds had been packed into the canine's fat frame, pushing him from his original overweight three hundred to just shy of a fully massive and amazing half ton. Lukas had a bit of trouble getting around now due to his size, but neither he nor Caleb cared in the least. The two actually enjoyed his near-immobility, and the cougar often just spent whole days at a time cuddling into the big blob of a collie. Lukas was more than happy to reciprocate with hugs and snuggles, the two blissfully content together.

Lukas had really blown up too. His gut, which had originally stopped above his knees, practically rested on the floor while he was standing. Often enough, he was found leaning forward and laying on the expansive mass, grinning and rubbing at all that fat beneath him. Caleb loved watching that, especially since he got a chance to sneak in and give that huge rump a playful squeeze as he walked by. Lukas's huge rear had swollen to be a beanbag chair all in its own; Caleb had taken the ones out of his den when the collie had moved in with him, and the two spent evenings with the cougar resting against his boyfriend's wide belly and huge lap, the two just comfortable cuddling together.

One day, Caleb came back from a day of classes with his usual bag of groceries in either arm, setting them on the counter after stumbling in. Lukas had stopped attending school and worked as a computer programmer back at the apartment, mostly because he had a lot of trouble getting around due to his new weight. Neither complained, though Caleb did worry a bit; he did want to make sure that Lukas stayed healthy, so he started including plenty of nutrients and vitamins along with his food to keep him so. But the collie hadn't shown anything averse, and if anything he was doing even better as he continued to grow. The cougar had eventually dismissed his concerns as trivial.

As he walked into their big den, Caleb spotted Lukas working with his custom-made computer and desk, set up so that he could support it on his large belly. It worked perfectly, since he couldn't exactly see past that huge gut at a normal desk, and most chairs wouldn't hold him anyway. He was working on some program or another, typing away furiously, until he saw a very familiar figure in the corner of his vision. Setting the computer aside carefully, the collie turned to catch Caleb in a big hug, squeezing him tightly to his fat belly. Caleb let out a soft purr and squeezed even more tightly back before pushing away with a grin, holding up a bag.

"I got your favorites, we're doing another pasta night. I've got spaghetti, fettuccini, tortellini, and plenty of different sauces to try them all with. Sound good?"

Lukas wagged his stubby tail against his huge backside, slowly pushing himself to his feet and grinning as he wobbled all over the place. "Sounds good! Can I help test the food again?"

The cougar rolled his eyes. "You kidding? Last time you did that, you finished off most of the meal before I was done making it!"

"Well, it was worth a try." Lukas said with a chuckle. "Oh, guess what, kitten! I finally broke one thousand pounds today, like... completely! I was at 998 before, but the scale said 1004 earlier!"

Caleb grinned and gave the collie's belly a playful slap, rubbing up and down the blubbery surface teasingly. He just loved feeling that fat rippling beneath his paws, shaking and wobbling with the slightest movements. "That's great, hon! You're getting so big... I'm really proud of my big fat collie."

Lukas arched an eyebrow coyly. They had done this routine before. "Your what?"

Caleb rolled his eyes before taking a deep breath. "My big fat super-sized chunky lardball, my obese blob of fur and fat, my handsome blimp of a collie. Is that enough this time?"

"Heh... yeah, that's good. You can tack on more over dinner, handsome." Lukas leaned down to kiss the cougar on the head, having some difficulty bending even that far due to his massive fut. The feline made it easier and stepped up on that fat surface to get his head closer, causing the collie to laugh as Caleb's soft foot pads tickled at him. With another playful hug, Lukas shooed him off to go make dinner, sitting down with a room-shaking thud and resuming his work at the computer.

At first, the collie pulled up the program he was working on, but once he was sure that Caleb was out of the room, he opened up another file, a small writing document. It was a journal he had been writing for a long time, back since the days of high school, and he had kept it secret even to this day, but he continued to write an entry every day to keep up with how things were going. The first few were standard high school angst, but then they moved to talking about Caleb. Those were the ones he loved to read, to remind himself of just how much he loved the cougar and why he was just so perfect for him. There was a small gap during the college years, during which he had been feeling particularly depressed, thinking that Caleb would never like him. Right after that was the entry that proclaimed his intention to lose weight for the cougar, though it was scored out and a single line was added beneath it: "Weight loss failed: Bad idea."

Every entry after that one had done two things: first, they had continued to talk about the things he had Caleb had done together, the meals they shared, the times they spent cuddling, and just how wonderful it was for them to be together. The other was a continuous progress of his weight, noted briefly at the beginning of each entry. With a smile, Lukas finished the one he was on, marking down the last few words before saving the file and reading it over.

"Weight: 1004 lbs. I finally broke a half ton!

Today was another wonderful day with Caleb. This morning he woke me up as usual with some soft, loving belly rubs, which of course I had to return, squeezing him tightly and massaging those cute, lean shoulders of his. Then he made me an amazing breakfast, with lots of bacon and eggs, as well as a huge stack of French toast! He really has become an amazing cook over the last year. He's what any gainer could ever want, that was for sure! But even if his food was mediocre or bland, I don't think I'd care too much. My kitten's just such a sweetheart, and I'd never go without him.

To think it's been nearly a year since we got together; it's really amazing. I never thought he'd like someone big and fat like me, thinking he'd only go for someone good-looking or slim. I actually told him that, and he gave me a look before telling me that I was still good-looking regardless of my weight. I think my face was set on fire that day from embarrassment! But he's still been so good to me this entire time, and I really marvel at the luck that brought him to me. I love Caleb so much, it's impossible to describe.

A year later, and a year happier. I hope we have many more years like this, and I don't just mean the gaining! (Though that would certainly be nice too... I'm nearly too big to fit through the doors already, it's so exciting!!!) For now, though, I think I'm just going to enjoy every day as it comes, and remember to thank Caleb every day for being such a good lover."

"Hey, fat pup, get your big butt out here so we can eat! It's almost ready!"

Lukas chuckled as he heard Caleb calling from the dining room, closing his computer once again and setting it to the side. He would indeed thank the cougar every day for being so wonderful to him, but for now, it was time to eat. He was a growing collie, after all!

"Alright, kitten, I'm coming. Better start eating before I get there, 'cause you're not going to get anything else...!"
