Poem #88: Dark Tunnel
#89 of Poetry
This poem is about going down the path we know will be hard, but there is always a way through it. A nice metaphor. Hope you enjoy.
Dark gray clouds spread across the sky Blocking out the sun And my path leads through a dark tunnel
One would often think it foolish To go down dark tunnels Especially one you've been down before
But I see a light at the end of this tunnel
No one else can see the light that I do They all tell me to turn back, Stay away from the tunnel.
I know that I may regret my decision. Many will call me a fool, And they could be right.
But I'm drawn to that light Like a moth to a flame And I'm hoping I don't get burned.
Even with hope, I'm afraid; And in the face of fear and doubt, All one can do is try.
I will go down this tunnel of darkness; For I see a light.
