Well, U-Haul-Victor had just sauntered in with our luggage when mom dropped the bomb.

"Now, I changed the sheets on Rory's bed and I brought up an extra pillow and a duvet so that you'll be more comfortable, Victor..."

We both kinda froze there, at the foot of the stairs - Victor staring at mom, me, standing there with what must've been a pretty surprised look on my muzzle...Victor gave me a glance while I looked at mom, busybody as ever, and dad, standing nearby with his damn Coke can in his paw and minding his own business...

"I'm sure it'll be splendid!" Victor commented. "Ain't it right, Rory?"

"Uhmmmhmhmm..." I mumbled.

"Well come on!" Victor grinned, jerking his head towards the stairs.

My legs took upon a robotic gait as I began to ascend the stairs, followed by Victor and - of course - by my leering parents. My stomach started to churn a little as I climbed the steps. Well...mom...where'd this come from? The previous times I'd ever brought...hmm...friends...here, which totally to whopping three times, I think, this had never happened before. Sure, two of those times were with Peter and I'd made it clear that we were just friends, and Peter was more than happy to sleep in the den, anyway, and during the only time Graham came over, there really wasn't any negotiation...the mattress that had appeared on the floor of my room was an unmistakable signal, and that'd been that. Graham was horrified, of course.

Wait...I almost missed a step and if it wasn't for my paw on the banister I might've toppled backwards and set up a domino effect of a Dobie and three lions, which would probably take us all into the hospital for the weekend, but my grip held and I kept going...my mind now nagging again...

...what if mom had been speaking about the mattress on the floor now...sure she could change the sheets on my bed, but the stuff she mentioned could've been meant for the musty mattress, to make it resemble a bed...she didn't mention that she'd brought them _for_the bed, so as to make it more comfortable for Victor to share with me...and asking about that now...oh damn...

"It's this door," I said as I got up to the landing and turned left, "here..."

I pushed the door open with a shaky paw and gazed into the sun-lit room, where all the familiar objects were in place, the scent was decisively...me...and a quick look proved that the floor only had a rug on it and nothing more...no offending mattresses...and there truly was an extra blanket folded on the bed, and couple of fluffy pillows...

I didn't have much time to contemplate the room, for soon the avalanche of mom and dad and one bag-carrying Victor pushed me deeper within, and I stepped over to stand by the dresser to give everyone some room to enter properly. Victor's ears were flicking while his eyes explored the room-of-Rory's with a curious gaze.

"It's a bit hot in here, but we can always bring in the extra fan from our bedroom," mom spoke with a big cat smile on her muzzle. "It's alright now, though, and it's probably going to cool down a bit with the rain...you can always open the window..."

I scratched my neck, feeling it warm up in ways that wasn't just the weather, and let out another mumbled reply.

"Sure," I said.

"You've got a nice room, Rory," Victor said, "I see you've got your old stuff in here, too...my parents have turned my room back home into an activity room, they call it...I've been packed away into boxes, heheh."

"Awww, well, we've got Rory's stuff here alright!" mom said.

"He's a real packrat," dad smirked, his tail batting against the wardrobes behind him, "got all sorts of weird stuff hidden away..."

Uhm...dad...mom...are you sure you're not embarrassing me?

"Guess we all do that," Victor replied with another conquering smile while he walked over to my bed and put our bags onto it, side by side, which looked...more nice than I thought it would be. It also reminded me of the fact that the bed wasn't that big all told...with Victor's frame, we'd probably have to sleep in the spoons positions...heh.

"It's just old stuff," I said, "everyone has old stuff."

"Sure do, old stuff," mom grinned.

Oh damn, stop being embarrassing!

"I really feel like changing into something a bit more comfortable after the ride, would you mind if we joined you back downstairs in a moment?" Victor spoke then, looking at my invading mom and dad.

Ohhh heck...I almost coughed, but maintained my...hmm...calm, while mom and dad exchanged knowing looks...well what do they know?????

"Sure!" mom said. "I'll just go and check on the lunch, I was thinking of serving some cold sandwiches, it's so hot that I don't think anyone feels eating too much, and I don't want to spend all day in the kitchen with you guys here!"

"That sounds lovely, Mrs. Gliese," Victor said.

"Call me Patricia, or mom," mom said.

Oh my God...

Mom swiveled and glided out of the room with dad in tow, rumbling a bit to himself he was, as they disappeared and dad closed the door after he tucked his tail out of the way. That left just Victor and me, in the room, a few feet between us, with Victor scratching his belly through his shirt and smiling.

"Nice room," Victor grinned.

"Thanks," I squeaked.

Victor padded over to the bed and unzipped his bag and put his paw in it to rummage through its contents. I just stood there, by the dresser, watched him bend over a bit as he did so, making those pants he wore just a bit tighter...hmm...maybe I shouldn't have been staring at his butt while I was shaking like this...let alone at home, with mom and dad possibly spying on us behind the door...well, maybe not...I did hear them go down the stairs...they wouldn't be creepy enough to make lots of noise in the stairs to fake it and then tiptoe back, would they?

"Really need to change, though, my shirt's all soaked," he complained as he pulled out a big green T-shirt and a spray can of antiperspirant, "don't wanna be stinky here...I was pretty sure your dad already wrinkled his nose..."

"Did he?" I asked, my ears flicking as I wondered if Victor was already feeling harrowed.

"Maybe he did," Victor shrugged as he tugged onto the hems of his shirt and then pulled it clear off his torso, baring that muscled back for me to see...damn, maaaan...I'd really have to hit the gym soon...maybe we could go together...pump some iron...hmm...iron-smelling Dobies...

"Sorry," I huffed.

"Maybe they're just not used to doggie smell," he said as he tossed the shirt down to the bed and picked up his can instead.

Or maybe they're just not used to their gay son's gay boyfriend's gay scent...

HSSSHHH!! HSSHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Damn those things were loud...and the scent...maybe there really was something to that...it was definitely something made for canines, that particular brand. Victor applied veritable clouds of the stuff under his arms, after which he stretched those hunky shoulders and put his can away.

"Think we're gonna fit onto this bed?" Victor gave me a glance over his shoulder while he was unfolding his shirt.

"It's not really smaller than the one I have back at my place," I said, "we've slept on that one before."

"We have," Victor winked, "it's nice!"

Nooo...he was putting clothes on to hide that bod...

"Okay..." I said.

"I'm sure we'll fit," he said, tugging on hems again as he turned to face me now...looking at me.

"Sure," I said.

Victor frowned.

"Why do you look so sour?" he questioned, arms folding over his chest in his usual inquisitive macho pose. "What did I do wrong?"

Oh daamn...my ears flicked back, quickly, and my tail batted the floor as I let out a rumble of disapproval.

"Nothing!" I yelped. "You're great!"

"So why do you look like that?" Victor tilted his head. "Something's bothering you and making you into a sourpuss."

"I'm not a sourpuss," I complained.

"Rory..."

I shook my head.

"It's really stupid," I said.

"Try me," Victor snipped.

I scratched the back of my neck again and tried not to appear so distracted.

"It's just...weird, you know?" I harrumphed.

"What's weird?" Victor asked. "Me?"

Well he was, in this environment...but I wasn't gonna label him like that...

"All...this," I waved my free paw quickly, "it's really new."

"I get the idea," he said, "but things seem to be going well in my mind. Your parents are cool, your brother's funny as hell, and...and..."

"There's no mattress," I blurted out.

Victor's ears flicked curiously.

"A mattress?" he said.

Well I might as well say it...

"I...for a moment I thought they might...you know...bring a mattress here..."

Victor snorted, with a little bit of a smile.

"So you thought that your parents might make me sleep on the floor, huh?"

"Only for a moment," I said, "I didn't even really think about it before...uh...before right now..."

"Well there's no mattress," Victor noted, "unless one's going to appear later, which I doubt."

"Oh I know, but..."

Victor strode across the room and cupped my muzzle in his big, warm paws and tilted my head so that we had full eye contact, and I got a faceful of his rumble-breath, which made my whiskers itch and tickle.

"Stop worrying," he said, "they're not winding you up."

His paws were so nice and warm...it'd been easy to just melt into the touch and just be off with it...oh yes...but I didn't want to get too distracted...

"Yeah," I huffed.

Victor pecked my lips and smiled.

"So what's weird about us sleeping in the same bed?" he said. "Did your parents object before?"

I might as well...

"There was a mattress when my ex visited," I confessed, "years ago..."

"Well there's no mattress now," he rubbed my cheeks with his thumbs while still cupping them.

"No..."I breathed.

"Which means that your parents are cool," he said, "they're cooler than mine, I bet."

"Oh?" I questioned.

"Don't think they'd let us", he stated, shortly, "at least not as casually as your parents seem to do."

"Oh..."I rumbled, "I thought your parents were alright with, you know...gay business..."

"You know?" Victor chortled, "oh, the euphenisms..."

He poked my jawbone from either side with his pads and chuckled.

"Gay business, yeah," he said, "and they are, but I get the feeling that it's more of a careful tolerance than full appreciation, and hence I wouldn't want to risk anything to push them over the edge into the uncomfortable territory."

I suddenly wondered what it'd be like to actually visit Victor's parents...in Cleveland, a strange city, full of strange furs, me standing on the doorstep to a big house, where the door would open, and a mother in a frilly dress who suspiciously looked like Cobb would step out...

"HEY HEY VICTOR MY SON AND HELLO RORY MY GAY SON'S GAY BOYFRIEND LET'S KEEP THINGS NOT TOO GAY AND WE'LL GET ALONG JUST FINE, I THINK!"

I tensed a little at the idea, but brushed it aside, and forced myself to smile to Victor instead.

"That sucks," I said.

"It's what it is," he said, "I'll just make the best out of it. I'm really glad your parents are doing that, too."

"I don't know what they're doing," I said, "they've never been this nice..."

"It's just new to them," Victor mused, "I bet they want to make a good impression."

"I just hope you won't get shocked once they drop the masks," I said.

"I can handle lions," Victor murmured as he leaned closer again, "I've got experience."

"Uh huh?"

Our chins collided and then did our muzzles, and he kissed me much more intently than before, and I felt a nice lick of tension roll through me, from eartips to tail, yes, it was nice, and I gripped his sides, and he kept cradling my muzzle while we continued the kiss...yes...little bit of tongue action never harmed anyone...yes...give it to me, baby...

Victor departed from my muzzle with a wet lick, and I was feeling...very hot indeed, maybe too hot, considering the circumstances...but damn, was I gonna cuddle him tonight, sex or not, I was gonna get something from the Dobie, and if it was going to be a nice kiss, I'd be really happy with that, too. Probably naughty enough for now, even if Rory Junior insisted on something more in-depth, too...we'd see.

"Yep," he grinned, "let's go downstairs, now, I wanna see what those sandwiches are like, I'm getting hungry."

"You Holdens are always hungry," I chuckled, my cheeks pleasantly warm now.

"Every mom's nightmare...or a joy," he winked as he regrettably stepped from me, my paws slipping from his sides.

"Well my mom likes to feed me, I bet she'll extend that courtesy to you too, Victor," I said.

"Yay!" he chuckled, patting my ass with his paw as he stepped past me for the door, confident as ever.

Purr....

We got downstairs and ventured into the living room, but it was empty. I did hear some clatter and chatter from beyond the door, though, and nudged Victor's side.

"I think they're in the kitchen," I said, "dad must be helping mom with the cooking."

"Wanna join in?" Victor asked. "We could get treats."

I patted his belly with my paw and chuckled.

"Like you need any."

"I always need some!"

"Let's go then," I concurred.

We slipped through the door into the kitchen and found dad paws deep in it, mixing something in a bowl while mom was chopping an onion.

"Oh there you are!" mom chimed.

"Hi," I rumbled.

"Everything alright?" dad asked.

"Sure!" I said.

"Oh yes, all fresh now!" Victor replied. "Anything we can do to help with the food?"

"You just sit and relax!" mom's rebuttal was immediate, "you're guests here, after all!"

"It wouldn't be any trouble," Victor spoke in his smoothest tone, but I suspected even that wouldn't convince mom.

"And neither is this any trouble," mom said as she wiped a few bits of onion from the blade of the knife, "we'll be ready in ten minutes, and then we can all eat. Do you mayonnaise, Victor?"

"Sure!"

"Then I'll make a couple extra with mayo just for you!" mom said. "Mark, make sure that we've got enough, will you?"

Dad tapped the bowl with his mixer and chuckled.

"I've got plenty here, I think."

"Great!"

"Just sit to the side, Rory, Victor, just relax," mom fussed while she walked across the kitchen to fetch the actual bread from the box, "take something cold to drink if you like, the tray's in the living room."

"We can have beer with the food, I think," dad grinned. "I'm sure going to get one!"

"Me too!" mom added.

"Sounds good!" Victor said.

"Just have to get this mayo right..." dad rumbled to himself as he concentrated on the milky stuff mixing in his bowl.

Well, it looked like we were going to get stuffed.
