Our story begins at Loc Lac city in the hunters academy where Zach; a young panther has visited the forge master to receive his new weapon. Like many students Zach was allowed to craft his first weapon with the materials he had gathered from his hunts and with the forge masters help it began to take shape as they pounded at the metal bit by bit carefully crafting it but before I go any further lets introduce Zach properly.
At a young age Zach was sent to the academy to train as a hunter and master swordsman after his parents were killed by a wyvern while heading to the market. The news broke his heart, the memory of that day was pounded into the iron as the blades took their final shape. Zach was given twin blades known as "The Hidden Ones" for they were made from the scales of a nargacuga; the very beast that took his parents.
After receiving his blades Zach left the city to return home to Pokke village in the mountains, by three days he had reached the mountain road. As he stood there at the entrance he breathed in the fresh air around him, along the path he could see herds of Kelbi and Popo grazing and traveling along the mountainside and by nightfall he had reached the peak and it had already gotten dark but what he found horrified him.
A herd of Popo had been slaughtered, the stench of death hung high in the night air and as Zach examined the bodies he heard a low growl coming from behind him and on a small ledge a Tigrex had leaped down with fresh blood dripping from its maw. Zach quickly drew his blades but the beast proved too quick as it knocked him off the cliff sending him crashing down as it let out a thundering roar. The fall had severely injured Zach as he began to black out feeling the cold wind caress his paralyzed body.
"so...this is how my life ends..."
At first he could only see shapes and shadows in the snow, then finally everything went dark.
Morning Rose as the sun pierced the window seal, the warmth of the rays slowly woke a surprised Zach who was fully healed and dressed in traditional clothing.
"Im...alive?"
"and quite lucky to be so."
"AH!!"
A small elderly cat had appeared right next to him holding a cane, she was a kind, elderly soul and was the village elder, Introductions were made and breakfast was served, Zach soon found himself walking around his old home town with everything the way it used to be. The hot spring was located near the edge of the village and the smithy could be heard just across the street and the sound of children playing with each other then Zach had heard a voice he had not heard in years and saw a face he thought he'd never see again.
"ZACH!!!"
"Michelle? OOF!!"
Zachs childhood friend Michelle who was a cat had tackled him to the ground laughing seeing her friend again. Before his parents death Zach and Michelle would always play with each other and were very close but after leaving for the city Zach thought he'd never see her again. The two had a great time catching up as she gave him a tour of the village showing how much he had missed since he left. They ate together at the village hall where a feast was held in honor of his return, many sorts of food were laid on the banquet table.
From exotic fruits to local foods including his favorite; Well Done Steak. Music filled the air as the party went into full swing but in the excitement Zach saw a tiger sitting in the corner of the room who had three scars on his face and he carried a buster sword and wore plated armor.
"Michelle who is that?"
"That's Zeng Dragonsbane. He's one of the guilds elite hunters and your his partner."
"Partner?"
Zach had done most of his training alone so he did not play well with others. The next morning a messenger from the city came to Zach bearing a seal of the academy and as he opened it Zeng had approached from behind fully armored and ready to head out.
"Well rookie what's the mission?"
"hmm...looks like a Giadrome has been giving the local herders trouble."
