Goddess of the Sea

She didn't know why but something about this human intrigued her. It wasn't like she'd seen quite a number of humans swimming around her watery home, but something about this human intrigued her; though for the life of her she couldn't understand what it was. 'Is it his height?' To which she shook her long head as she recalled seeing several humans before; though many of which weren't as tall as he was, but that wasn't the singular thing. 'Was it his hair?' To which again she shook her head; as she'd seen several humans with that same kind of sandy colored hair. Her mind went through everything once again, ticking over every detail about what she could see or distinguish about the youth, but still she couldn't tell what it was about him that intrigued her so.

'It's not like he's doing anything really unusual either. All he does is reach into that bag of his and feed some of the other Pokémon around here.' Though it was upon that she didn't understand why it was that so many water types had gathered around him. He'd reach into the small bag that he carried with him, remove something within it, then proceed to cast what appeared to be small frozen berry pieces about to which the other Pokémonquickly swarmed to get at the tasty treats that were very uncommon to find there in the water. She knew that berries were pretty uncommon to find, but were they that good? The thought made her subconsciously lick her lips at the memory of the first time she'd tasted one of those delicious orbs, but instead of the sweat taste of a berry and its juices she tasted salt water instead; nearly making her blanch and in doing so nearly alerted the human to her presence.

By the time she pocked her head out from behind the coral reef she'd been hiding behind she quickly began to fear, as she couldn't see the human anywhere, but upon looking towards the surface she saw him slowly ascending and to that out of her world. That thought, 'he's leaving' caused a slight pang to be felt in her chest and to that a great amount of confusion. 'When I see him my heart nearly feels like it's going to burst out of my chest, but now seeing him leave; it feels like he's taking a piece of it with him.' Ever so slowly she emerged from behind her hiding spot and slowly reached up towards him with her large wing, almost as if just by reaching out towards him that act would have him stay.

Over the next few days she would see him, walking along the beach, swimming in the crystal clear waters off the beach, and...smiling...swimming near her coral reef to feed the local aquatic Pokémon. Though each time she'd spy on him and tell herself that this would be the day...this would be the day she'd reveal herself to the human, she'd just end up hiding behind some rocks...in the surf...or behind her coral reef; too shy to actually make that one critical step/swim that would announce herself to him. It was upon the end of what the humans called a 'week' that she decided to sneak on over and watch the human as she slept, but upon that night she heard some disturbing news; 'he's leaving the day after tomorrow'. This nearly made her fall off the roof; where she'd perched herself in order to look in on the human's room which was conveniently on that of the top floor, and a pang of fear ran through her at the thought of never seeing this human again once he returned home. With that of her thoughts in a whirl, she didn't know if it'd be safe to fly home; to which she sat there on the roof the hotel and tried to make sense of her whirling thoughts.

Over the last few days she'd been trying to nerve herself up to revealing herself to the human, but now learning that he was going to be leaving and most likely never to return, (As most humans would only return once more or not at all) she made up her mind that the next day she'd have to do it. 'If not tomorrow, then I'll probably never get my chance.' Placing a hand over her chest she felt the pangs of fear beating in her chest, but the thought of what she had to do tomorrow nearly come close to that of her fear of losing him. With a steadying nod to herself she took in a long breath and headed off to her underwater home to plan for tomorrow.

She was in luck! Her human had decided to spend his last day here at her beach, but not in the way she'd been hoping for. For unlike the times when he'd be swimming, diving, or other such things; this time he was... 'What is that thing he's riding on?' She wondered to herself as she'd only seen the thing a few times before. With what could only be described as practiced movements she watched as her human stepped onto what was that of a surf board and grabbed the guide rail of what appeared to be a kind of sail attached to the middle of the surf board. Almost like that of a shot he turned the sail slightly and quickly leapt across the water. 'He's moving so fast...how is he doing that?' She wondered to herself as she watched the human youth speed across the water at amazing speeds, only to whip the thing around and quickly move along the same path back.

'If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was using some kind of psychic powers to move that fast.' For the only time she'd ever seen something move that fast was... 'Wait a minute...I've seen humans move that fast before. If you make the surf board longer and broader, he'd be sailing right now...so it's the sail he's using to move that fast!' She thought in excitement at learning a little something new...but upon that she realized that all her plan of meeting the youth had gone out to sea and never to return. 'If this keeps up he'll be too fast to catch up with and I'll never get my chance.' With fear clouding her thoughts she knew that in order to reveal herself to the speedy youth she'd have to stop him somehow. That was when she made the expedient mistake of revealing herself in the human's path and to that caused them both to collide.

With her head reeling from the thing she'd bumped into she steadied herself and began to look about for her lost human. Her heart skipped a few beats and she had to cup both her hand over her mouth to hold back her scream as she spotted her human, lying face down in the water, one of his arms twisted the wrong way behind his back, and not moving in the least. Fearing for her human's well-being, she quickly swam over to him, gently used her large wing/hand to turn him over, and stare down at him. It was almost a relief to see that he wasn't dead; due to his chest slowly rising and falling, but the fact that she'd caused him to crash and to that injure himself, she had to take action. "Don't you worry little human, I'll take you to my place and have you all better in no time," she said to which surprised her as it almost like she was saying the same thing her mother had said to her when she'd hurt herself long ago. With an instinct she didn't know she had, she slowly encased her human in her wings/hands and using just that of her tail, quickly propelled herself homeward.

Almost frantically she quickly busied herself with/through her things and trying to recall what her mother had taught her long about a broken wing. It didn't take her long to find the proper things; mostly that of different plants and such in the water, to which she laid it all out next to her human that lay still unconscious on her bed of kelp. 'His wing...no...arm doesn't look too different from that of my wing so this shouldn't be too hard,' to which her eyes began to glow and began the arduous task of setting the bone back to the way it should be.

After what felt like eternity, as she froze up with every twitch/moan/wince, she'd finally set the bone back to where it should be and to that began to use some of the other items she'd collected to bind the bone/arm in place. Wiping at her non-sweaty brow, she smiled down at her work and to that could only feel relieved that it hadn't been as bad as she thought. 'All in all I have to say that that went a lot better than last time.' Her thoughts traveled back to the time when she'd gone up against a trainer and his Gyarados. The battle had been a fierce one and one that had ended up with one of her wings broken; if it hadn't been for a rogue wave that had swamped the trainer and provided her with the opportunity to escape, she'd have been captured. It'd taken her the better part of a week or two for her to recover from the attack and it hadn't helped matters when she had to break and reset her wing time and time again due to setting the bones in her wing wrong.

With a sigh; knowing that the human would be alright now, she sat back and allowed her thoughts to wonder slightly. It was with those wondering thoughts that through the mess of thoughts the sudden realization that she now had a human in her home, not to mention the human that she'd been secretly watching for the past week, made her cheeks flush hotly with a large pink blush that quickly spread to turn her entire face a bright shade of pink. 'Oh my god; he's here...here in my home...,' the thought/realization that she'd just brought a human into her secret home disturbed her on a deep level, but upon the thought that this was no ordinary human calmed her slightly.

It was with the stirring of the unconscious human that brought her back to reality and to that the fear of discovery. 'What if he doesn't like me, what if he's afraid of me, what if...,' her thoughts trailed off at that as she quickly turned about in hopes of finding a hiding place and dove back into the water that led into her cave; only to turn about and poke her head just above the pools surface to watch her human slowly regain consciousness. She didn't know what would happen upon his waking and with every stir/shift of his body she tensed up slightly, but it was with that watching that she began to feel something change within her and to that a steady need/burning began to rise up from within her.

Her mother had told her, long ago, that one day something like this would happen. 'One day you'll meet nice, handsome, strong water Pokémon and he'll make you feel all warm and hot in your special place. When that day comes, you'll know that you've found your mate and he will make you very happy.' Her mother's advice/words rang through her head and the burning within her only rose as she watched the human awaken; she wished her mother could be here to explain why it was that it wasn't a Pokémon making her feel this way rather it was that of a 'human'.

Finally the human opened his eyes and slowly began to rise, only to stop from standing as he noticed something upon his arm. In almost total silence she watched as he studied his arm for a time and then changes his focus to his surroundings. She was quite relieved that in his sitting up and the fact he didn't let out a yell at seeing his broken arm that she'd done a well enough job fixing it. Eventually the human had taken in her home and too that stood up to walk around the place; eventually stopping in the middle of her home to let out a shout, "Hello...is anyone there?" Seeing him in that distressed state tug at her heart and to that almost caused her to reveal herself, but it wasn't that that alerted her presence to him; it was when he turned about and nearly fell into her pool.

She didn't know how long she stared up at the human; much less him staring back at her, but it only lasted until he looked down and tugged at the hem of his shorts. Looking down to where she saw him looking she noticed that there was what appeared to be some kind of image of something on it. Ever so slowly she eased her body a little more out of the pool and took a closer look at the image, only to reel back as she recognized the image of what the human's assimilated or represented her kind; it was that of a silver feather and to that was emblazoned upon a darker image of a Lugia's head.

"Your one of them," she quickly slinked back into the water so that it was only the top of her head showing, "Aren't you?"She saw him tug at them emblem on his shorts and then look back at her. Not really knowing what he was asking she slowly nodded her head but didn't make a move to exit or flee from him. This seemed to excite the human and as he began to ramble she began to wonder if she was doing the right thing in revealing herself to a human. It hadn't been that long ago that she'd been attacked by one of his kind, but the feeling deep in her heart just couldn't see that as a possibility. Eventually the human came down from his rant to kneel down in front of her pool and stare down at her. "I've heard so much about you and your kind, but never in my life did I suspect that I'd ever see one!"

Her heart gave a flutter at that and somewhere in there she too was excited. 'Just by the mere thought of meeting on of my kind seems to excite him. I wonder if he really can be trusted...' To which she saw him go down from his crouch to that of his knees. "Could I...could I touch you?" He asked as he reached out a shaky hand towards her. She was a bit reluctant to comply with him, but seeing the innocent look in his eyes she fought down the thumping in her chest and used her tail to move slightly forward. Still a bit reluctant, not really knowing if it was the shyness or something else she stopped at the pools edge and allowed him to reach down and touch her. Ever so slowly she felt his hand caress the end of her beak and to that travel down to lightly rub at her cheek. In almost a state of bliss as she felt her human caress her in such a loving manner she closed her eyes and leaned into the caress, 'I can't believe that this is really happening...his touch, his caress, it almost feel like...' Ever so slowly she opened her eyes and stared at the human and saw him giving her a peaceful smile that made her heart flutter ever the more.

'Could this be...love?'

It was strange for her to just swim there, having her human stare at her while she stared right back. The look of fascination on his eyes after she'd confirmed his suspicions of her being real, not to mention allowing him to touch her, (Had he really done that?), sent shivers down her long spine. It was understandable that most humans revered her and those like as that of Legendary, and that he too should revere/worship her and those like her, but at that moment those thoughts of worship were the furthest from her mind. The human who she'd been seeking out and had been watching for such a long time was now in front of her and her mind was drawing a blank.

'I should probably say something,' she thought to herself, 'something...anything,' but her mind was a complete blank. It was all so frustrating to her to be at a loss for words, she was a legendary after all, but even still she was stumped for anything to say, and just kept on swimming there in her pool while her face began to redden all the more. All her goals had led up to this point, but never had she ever give it any thought or had thought it a possibility that her plans would go beyond this point. Thankfully it was that of her human who ended the long silence and to that her embarrassment.

"Where are we?" He asked as he began to look about her home, only to settle on her once more.

'Does he want me to answer?' She wondered and had to mentally slap herself. 'Of course he wants me to answer him. I'd probably be confused and lost if I were to awaken in a place I hadn't been before.' Once she realized that she was faced with another problem, how to answer him. It'd be a simple matter to simply reach out to his mind and use her mental abilities to communicate directly to his mind, but her mother's warning that such a thing should only be done with great caution rang through her mind. But finally, after going through the pro/cons of the act, she finally settled on one thing.

'Home...'She stated simply to which the human jerked in what she hoped was only that of surprise and not one of either pain or fear. Ever so slowly she watched as he raised a hand to that of his head and watched as his eyes went wide.

"Did that...was that...," he seemed not able to make up his mind as to what he wanted to ask, so she just simply raised her head a little out of the water and nod to him, only to quickly duck her head back down so that she was now back to keeping her head just slightly above the water.

"If that was you...and I heard that only in my head...," he trailed off in that of his verbal thoughts, looked slightly off to one side, but finally he seemed to settle his thoughts and brought his gaze back to her. "Then you must know telepathy," he stated factly to which she raised her head once more and nodded to him. He seemed to be pleased by that and went into mental thought on it all and she could only smile at the positive reaction to her capabilities.

'He doesn't seem to think it strange that I was able to do that. Maybe...' She slowly raised her head once more and the human quickly turned back to face her. 'Hurt...still?' She asked to which the human gave her a curious look, until she nodded towards that of himself and gazed straight at his arm. The human seemed to get the idea as he looked down towards his arm in confusion. Slowly the human moved the arm around and every once in a while she'd see him wince at something, no doubt a few different moves or positions aggravated the injury but overall he seemed to take it in stride. After a while he finally got finished looking over the injury and when he turned to look back at her she could see that he had a look of confusion on his face.

"I hardly even noticed that I was hurt," he rubbed his arm slightly to which he slightly winced at then looked back up at her."Was it you that healed me?"

She happily nodded to that and was a little pleased that she'd done the job right. 'If I did a good enough job, maybe he'll even repay me some way.' In her mind, a mental image of her was getting a kiss from her human in his way of thanking her for taking care of him while he was injured. She was so engrossed with the thought/image that she nearly jumped right out of her pool when she felt something caress her cheek, and quickly dove below the surface of her pool and into the safety of the depths of the ocean.

It took her several minutes to get her nerve back and once she had she suddenly realized what had just happened. 'Oh my gosh; he touched me and I freaked out!' Realizing her mistake did she quickly swim back into the underwater tunnel and lifted her head high out of the water. At first she didn't see her human, but what she did notice was what could only be that of laughter coming from somewhere behind a set of rocks that'd been off to one side of her home. 'They're just big enough to...,' her thought quickly trailed off at that, as she quickly moved over to the rocks and peered over them.

When she looked over the rocks she saw that the laughter was indeed coming from her human and in that she didn't know if she should feel relieved, that he wasn't hurt when she freaked out, or upset that he was probably laughing at her. Eventually though the laughter from her human won out and she couldn't help but laugh along with him at how badly she'd overreacted from just his touch. 'What am I, a frightened little mouse that jumps at the slightest noise?' She half-heartedly berated herself at her skittishness and sighed at how foolish she'd acted back then. Though eventually his laughter was getting to her and she couldn't help but wish to get back at him for laughing at her. 'How would it look for a human to laugh at one such as myself?'

With that of an evil smirk as she remembered seeing another water type does this to a human that'd been making fun of it, and scowled down at the human. 'Not Funny...,' with that thought sent to him the human quickly lost his human and looked up at her in alarm, but that did little to prepare him for what happened next.

Needless to say, from that point onward the human couldn't look at her for the barest of moment (Even though she did catch him several times looking in her general direction) before quickly averting his gaze; no doubt not wanting a repeat of getting sprayed by the coldest/freezing water for his misconduct of laughing at her earlier. It was almost cute to her to have him quickly adverting his gaze at the barest of hints of her turning to look towards him (In hopes of actually catching him gazing at her), though the human was swift and would quickly look away before there was any kind of true gaze. 'Maybe it has to do with his quick reflexes on that wind/water rider he was riding on earlier?'

She giggled at the thought of this as some kind of game between them and would laugh at each attempt that she caught him looking at her. 'I don't know why, but this is kind of amusing,' she thought to herself as she allowed him a long gaze at her before quickly turning and looking towards him out of the corner of her eye...; 'Almost had him that time'. She giggled slightly at that and thought of a new idea that she'd been hoping to try out for quite some time, 'Now might be the perfect opportunity to try it out,' she thought and with that began to use her mental capabilities.

This time, when the human turned to gaze back at her, he found that she was no longer there. Quite startled at the fact that something as magnificent as her could just...disappear/vanish into thin air; he was on his feet in a heartbeat and quickly began to search for her. "What the...where...where did you go?" He asked as he turned about several times only to continue to do so a few more times.

It was quite comical to truly get back at the human but in the act she had to move swiftly and quietly, else he hear her move and/or notice the trick she was playing upon him. Eventually though she couldn't keep her mirth hidden any longer and a chortle escaped her lips. With that chortle/giggle the human quickly turned to look back towards the rear of the cave and up upon that of a large set of rocks there. 'Found me at last, did you,' she sent to him with a bit of mirth in her tone, as she slowly lowered the effect and became visible once more.

"But...how..." The human asked in general wonder as the effect slowly wore off and all that was that of Lugia was finally visible to him once more.

'Just a simple trick that I thought would be fun to use right then,' she stated as she slowly lowered herself back down to the cave floor and back over to the human.'It comes in handy when I do not wish to be seen and there are many others about.'

"But I...I looked there. Did you use some kind of invisibility to hide yourself?" He asked in general wonder and to which she giggled once more as she stopped beside him and gently tapped him on his nose with one of her wing/fingers.

'Caught you looking at me again.' She sent simply as she giggled at his face as it turned a deep reddish color. 'To answer your question; no. What I did was use my psychic abilities to alter my appearance,' she giggled at his confused expression. 'Tue invisibility is not really what I did, for what I did do was simply make your eyes see what I wanted them to see.' With that she used the same ability and to his eyes it seemed as if she wasn't there again, but rather he was only seeing the far wall and nothing between his gaze and that wall.

He was so lost in his thoughts/gaze that Lugia had enough time to fully circumvent him twice, and gently caress his shoulder (To which caused him to turn around several time in search for what had brushed against his shoulder), but finally resolved to reveal herself to him once more. The startled look in his eyes to finally lay his gaze upon her was quite pleasing and when that gaze turned to that of relief she couldn't help but swoon slightly inside. 'Why is it that every time I see him looking at me that way my heart seems to flutter ever so slightly,' but she didn't have time to ponder that question for long as the human's gaze turned to one of thoughtfulness. 'What is on your mind?' She asked but didn't get a response right away, to which irritated her slightly, but finally got a response after the third attempt.

"Sorry, just lost in thought there for a moment," he said to which she slightly huffed at being ignored once more. "I was just thinking about what you just said and it struck a chord." This got her to raise an eyebrow at him and had to admit that something about the way he said it intrigued her.

'About how I am able to hide myself?' She asked to which he nodded up to her.

"You said that you could make my eyes see what you wanted them to see," to which she nodded down to him, but screwed up her face in wonder at where he was taking/leading with this. "Could you make my eyes see you as anything else?" She furrowed her brow slightly in thought but it wasn't until she peaked into the humans mind that her eyes opened wide and a smile slowly spread across her face.

'I never thought about using it like that,' she sent mentally to him and in that, a whole new avenue of ideas began to pour in from just the simple idea of altering her hiding ability.
