#1 of Jason's Nightmare

This is the Prologue to my new series Jason's Nightmare. I expect that this series will be longer than my first series and you should also expect that my writing skills have improved in this one. This series is a side story to BridgeToPeace's Pokemon High school series which involves my character and his characters. The setting though (mainly the mountain itself), is my idea though but the other places are from his world. BTW, BridgeToPeace also helped me write this story so i guess we'll share 50/50 of the fame I'll get from this. The idea of story however is mine and mine alone, he just adds some details regarding his Raiki since I might not get his character right.

CHARACTERS:

Jason - My main Lucario character

Raiki - BridgeToPeace's main Luxray character

Guren - BridgeToPeace's gardevior

Nobunaga - BridgeToPeace's Houndoom

Kashikoi - BridgeToPeace's Mewtwo

The students of Tokugawa High are a rowdy bunch. The students there were tough, rude and inconsiderate... at least one of them was, the one that Jason detested the most, Raiki. Jason, a lucario at the age of 16, recently moved to Japan to study in Tokugawa High. He had anticipated that he'd run into trouble at school but he never expected it to start in the train station on the way to his first day. Raiki, a luxray as old as Jason, was on a rush, determined to get to school on time. He had encountered Jason at the station and the two of them didn't have the kindest of greetings. Ever since then, Jason and Raiki never looked at each other with respect.

All was not bad though. In Jason's class, he met a girl, a gardevior, named Guren. She was a kind soul, one of the few who had whole-heartedly welcomed Jason to their school. For the first few weeks, Guren helped Jason acclimating to the atmosphere of Shinzuku city, with Jason being a country boy and all. Guren also taught Jason basic Japanese and the cultures of Japan. Soon, Guren became Jason's first friend. But something about Guren bothered Jason... like a wave of nostalgia washed over him.

Raiki, however, wasn't in approval of Jason and Guren's friendship. He despised the idea that his only source of happiness was hanging out with the very creature he so wanted to crush beneath his feet. He would often interrupt if Guren were to tutor Jason basic Japanese, even to the point of pulling her out of the room. There would also be occasions when Raiki would resort to fighting Jason, but they seem to be on par with each other's capabilities.

This long cycle of hate went on for Jason's entire stay in Japan so far, and neither of them seemed to show any sign of relenting. However...

"Alright class," Professor Nobunaga announced with assertion in his voice, the houndoom standing tall and proud at the podium. "Tomorrow will be your first camping trip at Mt. Hatsugen. I expect that you'd all be in your best behavior during your stay there."

Mumbles and whispers began between the students, all of which were discussing between themselves their excitement of the event, only to be silenced by Nobunaga stomping his foot on the floor. "I won't be accompanying you to the trip tomorrow."

'That's because he hates the outdoors. Let alone nature.' Guren's voice spoke in Jason's mind in mental telepathy.

"In my place, Professor Kashikoi will be guiding you in your trip." Professor Nobunaga finished.

At that, the bell rang marking the end of the day and the students started streaming out of the classroom leaving only Guren, Jason and Raiki inside.

"Guren," Jason called out as he approached the gardevior. "who's Professor Kashikoi?"

Guren finished packing her books and stood up. "He's a super professor of sorts." Guren answered. "He teaches all forms of studies although he mainly focuses on physics and psychology."

"Wow." Jason said in amazement. "His schedule must be hectic."

"Meh, not really."Guren casually answered. "He's a mewtwo so, he's capable of cloning himself."

Jason nodded his head, usually as a gesture of sarcasm but now a gesture of understanding. "Now it makes sense."

"Don't you have somewhere to be!?" an angry voice barked from behind, Raiki standing just a few seats away, the luxray staring at Jason with such distaste.

"Not at the moment." Jason answered trying to mask his anger with sarcasm.

"We're supposed to be preparing our things for the trip."Raiki approached trying his best not to yell. "You better move it if you know what's best for you."

"Why don't YOU move?" Jason asked, challenging Raiki and testing his patience.

"Why you little..." Raiki mumbled with hate, sparks beginning to emit from his mane.

"Bring it." Jason answered as he prepared for battle, his aura seemingly humming with energy.

"Stop it, you two!" Guren scolded as she got between Jason and Raiki. "Why don't we ALL head back to our homes to prepare for the trip?"

The two were reluctant, they hated each other's guts so badly that they'd never pass the opportunity to beat the stuffing out of the other. Jason lowered his arms and relaxed, listening to Guren's command, while Raiki was hesitant but the sparks had stopped soon after. "Hmph." Raiki snorted in disgust as he grabbed his pack and stormed outside.

When Raiki left, Guren turned to face Jason and gave him a bow. "I apologize for Raiki's behaviour--"

"Calm down, Guren." Jason said, cutting her off. "It's not your fault he's an ass hat. Don't beat yourself up for him."

Guren stood up and stared at Jason in bewilderment. She knew that Jason isn't used to Japanese culture but she wasn't used to being told not to follow it. She gave Jason a smile and a nod then she left the room with Jason following soon after.

The next day, the students had gathered in the station where they took a train to the outskirts of the city where a bus was waiting to take them to the mountain. The bus didn't turn its air conditioning on but kept the windows as to let the mountain air inside. The fresh forest air felt soft and comforting at Jason's face, the smell and the feeling just relaxing every muscle and nerve of his body. While Jason was enjoying himself though, the others were complaining. So used to the modern life they were that the forest and the mountain had alienated them.

"Hey look, the country boy is enjoying himself over there!" A charmeleon mockingly yelled gesturing towards Jason. "Why don't you stick your head out the window doggy!?" he said as he and his friends burst out in laughter.

Jason was offended but he kept the smile on his face. He wasn't going to let some heathens spoil this moment. "Says the guy who's been complaining and moaning like the bitch he is." He answered back.

"Why you little--"

"You know, I've been getting that comment a lot." Jason answered, not waiting for the charmeleon to finish his sentence. "Can't you people say anything else?"

"They're probably not used to this kind of situation, I mean. They all live inside that unruly city, it's getting so tedious." A sarcastic comment by the onyx furred feline. "All tucked into their homes, sitting on their mother's lap, telling them bedtime stories."

The Charmeleon blazed with embarrassment and then anger. "You wanna say that to my face, furball?!"

A rather annoyed growl, then Raiki stood up and turned around, sparks of light blue electricity jolted, canines gnashing in bitter fury. His flame blazing down, the lizard succumbed into a rather submissive stance, although, his anger not leaving his conscience. In a way or two, he agreed with his rival's point of living, being in a rural position up north of Shinzuku City, the Bokunawa Province. For the first time or by a miracle of the divine, Jason looked at Raiki with respect... for a moment only.

"That's enough alright!" Guren yelled scolding both parties. "Let's just enjoy this camping trip and being away from to school okay?"

Soon, the bus arrived at the foot of the mountain, a large arch over the path had the sign "Mt. Hatsugen" marked as the main entrance, a mewtwo standing by the pillar, obviously expecting the group of students. "Greetings to all." The Mewtwo greeted with a bow. "I am professor Kashikoi, welcome to the Mountain of Revelation!"
