#6 of Heat side stories

Well here's a nice new story, again based in the heat universe but you don't need to have read any of the previous heat stories to read this one. I hope you all enjoy, cover picture by the amazin blondehusky who does take commissions go check him out. This story came about following a discussion with Rogal Ursus a really sweet kodiac bear friend of mine.

*Edit: Well several people seemed to feel quite strongly that the second half seemed a little rushed so I have added about two and a half more pages which hopefully remove any feeling of rushing. The additional paragraphs star at the painting scene for those who have read. i would be interested in knowing it this improves the story or not. I feel 2.5 pages is a major edit and so tagged it as such (first time i have ever done that, hope i don't annoy anyone with it.)

"You're in for the best time of your life!" The mature human enthused to the bear he was sitting next to. It was a very small transport ship and the two were the only passengers. The polar bear had chosen a seat on the other side of the ship, but the human had moved over five minutes into the flight. He'd spent the last hour telling the silent bear about his holiday to Lutra two years ago. How he had fell in love with the 'bohemian' attitude of the locals. That he'd heard that the bear's of Kodia were even more relaxed and that they pretty much had no technology at all. The human had barely stopped talking and it seemed like he hadn't noticed the bear hadn't replied once. "Although they don't have any hotels or anything. From what I've read we need to find a tribe who will take us in."

The bear blinked as he didn't remember agreeing to go anywhere with this rather excited middle aged man. Still he knew nothing about this world or its population having someone else help him out when he got there might make sense. "Ok, how do we do that?" The young polar asked turning his ice blue eyes on the human with a slight and what he hoped was a friendly smile.

"Oh there are plenty of lutrai living on Kodia and they tend to do all the actual jobs. One of them at the spaceport should be able to point us in the right direction." The human said smiling broadly as the bear finally acknowledged his existence. "The names Paulo by the way, I don't know if I said."

"Tod." Came the bear's monosyllabic response. They were just a few minutes away from re-entry and the fasten seat belts light flashed up. The two passengers secured their seatbelts and thankfully Paulo stopped talking. The bear guessed that the human was a nervous traveller, thankfully he had no such fears of the journey, the destination however that's a different story.

Their landing was uneventful and the polar was glad to get out of the cramped interplanetary transport. Even though at a mere six foot two inches he was really small for a polar he'd still had trouble squeezing his ample frame into seats made for other species. Like the rest of his species he had a round gut covered in plush fur. This was currently covered by a slightly blue stretched t-shirt and some comfortable pants.

As the pilot congratulated himself, for landing only two hours later than the schedule, the two stepped out into the searing heat of the topical world. Tod's nose was hit by the scent of a tropical beach as his body felt a wave of heat wash through him making the bear gasp.

Paulo sighed and lifted up his arms. "Oh wonderful isn't it, so warm and the beaches are just perfect. My homeland used to have beautiful beaches but they are all spoilt by industrialisation now and the few that remain are crammed with tourists." The human said as the two stared out across the vista, the spaceport was apparently a flat area of turf with a few sheds. A stark contrast to the huge lapine spaceport he had left from or the one on polar.

"It is warm." The bear agreed as he stared doubtfully at the landscape. Not a fleck of snow in sight, although the shimmering blue ocean a few miles away looked inviting. In fact as the heat began to bake his fur he desperately wanted to dive in and just enjoy.

"Right you go grab our bags and I'll go speak to some of the ground crew see what I can sort out for us." The human said as he ran over towards some lutrai tinkering with another interplanetary transport. The bear walked around to the cargo bay door and was unsurprised to find it had not yet been opened. He had learned that lutrai didn't rush and treated timetables as suggestions rather than rules. Given his rather disciplined upbringing he couldn't say this relaxed behaviour didn't annoy him. Still he'd made his choice to come here, maybe once he was set up with a place to stay and could get his bearings he would think he'd made the right choice.

Eventually a skinny otter in a greasy jumpsuit wandered up and opened the cargo bay. Not waiting for the slow and relaxed youth to move the bear jumped inside and grabbed the three bags inside. "Hey, no need to rush I'd have got them." The youth mumbled and Tod ignored him as he started to look for Paulo.

The human was standing talking to a male otter by a small shed. As the bear approached the human smiled and said "Hey, this is Derek he has a jetboat and says he'll take us to a kodiac tribe on an island twenty miles from here. We'd be the first none lutrai offworlders there. If they accept us, that is. I just have to... help Derek with something inside the shed. Shouldn't be five min..."

"Fifteen minutes!" The otter interrupted with a grin and a wink at the human, the male grabbed his jumpsuit and pulled at the crotch a little.

"Fifteen minutes and then we can be on our way." The human continued, the two didn't wait or ask him to help so Tod assumed it was some sort of paperwork. Paulo had mentioned that he was some sort of clerk back home, so he'd probably be able to sort out any paperwork far faster than any of these disorganised otters. He wandered into the shade of the shed to wait, the sun's heat practically baking him in his fur. His mouth felt dry and he wished he knew where he could get a drink.

As he sat he could hear some muffled sounds coming from the shed. He was surprised that whatever Paulo had to do involved that much yelling. He couldn't make out the words but it was clear they were both quite desperate to achieve something. Still if they wanted his help they could come out and ask for it.

It was more than twenty five minutes later when the two emerged giggling and walking slightly funny, their clothes ruffled and wrinkled. The bear guessed they must have been moving some equipment around, they should have asked for his help he would have had no trouble lifting whatever the otter wanted moved. The bear was totally oblivious to the less than subtle hints the two were giving as to what they had really been doing. He didn't even notice the growing wetspot in the back of the human's pants.

The three headed off in a small land vehicle with the otter driving, occasionally reaching out to stroke the human's thigh affectionately. Eventually the bear began to suspect the otter might actually be attracted to the human. He knew that most alien species engaged him that sort of deviant behaviour but he never expected them to be so blatant about it. The human took it well though, by smiling and not revealing the revulsion he must be feeling. After all they needed a lift and if he stopped being nice maybe the otter wouldn't take them to the island even after the promise.

The bear felt a great deal of gratitude for Paulo's good nature, if the otter had tried that with him, he wouldn't have known what he would do. He'd probably never have gotten out of that damned hot spaceport. Driving along with the top down the air was wonderfully cooling in his fur and despite the deviant otter he was able to start feeling something akin to enjoyment.

As they reached the shore and transferred to a small hover jet boat the otter looked at the luggage that the two tourists were carrying. "You guy's do know that the Kodiac tribes have no understanding of personal belongings right?"

Both tod and Paulo paused for a moment, it was the human who voiced their concerns first. "So what does that mean?"

"Well if you're going to stay with them you have to join the tribe that means everything you own becomes communal property. So if there's anything you don't want to lose I'd suggest you let me hold on to it until you go home."

Tod paused he didn't have much in his bags other than clothes and a small comm. unit, not an expensive model, and that was it. "I don't have anything much." He muttered and that was a shock realisation to him, as the one bag contained almost everything he owned. He had a credit account with a lot of credits in it and when he got back to Polar he would have to use that to start his life again.

The human had a few rather flashy comm devices and entertainment units that he passed into Derek's safekeeping. The bear couldn't help noticing how much faith the human had in this lutrai he had only just met. Still it wasn't his place to comment and so he didn't. A few minutes later they were speeding over a still, clear and warm ocean on their way to some distant island.

It wasn't long before they arrived at a topical beach, with white powdery sands and gently lapping waves. A short way up the beach a lush, green topical forest seemed to span as far as the eye could see. In the far distance a small mountain towered above the island the forests running up halfway to its peak where Tod's eyes focused on the white tips. Snow and ice, as the sun baked his fur he found himself thinking of his homeworld where the temperature almost never rose to the uncomfortable levels where water melted. He hadn't expected to miss it so soon.

Fortunately he didn't get any time to dwell on those feelings as Derek ushered the two tourists towards a small collection of single story and very basic buildings. The bear couldn't believe it, the buildings were actually made of wood. Not even large logs with intricate carvings like some ancient polar monuments, just branches and leaves tied to frames.

Their approach was not unnoticed and as they neared the small village a stream of brown furred bears began to run in their direction. Young cubs first, who ran over and then seeing the large white bear stopped in their tracks and kept their distance. Followed by youths who also kept their distance, however, got much closer and whispered to one another. Tod could feel their eyes were on him and he spotted several gesturing at him. He tried to ignore this, after all he was almost certainly the first polar they had seem and was probably the first polar to visit this world.

Lastly came the adults, both male and female were dressed only in very simple loincloths. Eventually a large bear with grey hairs along his muzzle and a necklace of teeth stepped out of the crowd. He nodded to Derek and it was clear to all that he knew the otter.

"Never seen the Kodiac so shy." The otter mumbled as the older bear approached. "Hello Kao, it is good to see you again my friend!" The otter put a great deal of warmth into the greeting. "I have brought some visitors who wish to join your tribe for a time, to share their experiences and learn from yours." To Tod's ears the otter's words seemed carefully chosen and practiced, he wondered how many times the otter had escorted tourists to stay with the bears.

The elder bear considered his words and then turned back to his tribe and lifted up his arms. "Will anyone speak for these strangers?"

"He's asking someone from the tribe to step forward as your guide and take responsibility for you." The otter whispered to them. "They will be your guide and friend, don't worry the kodiac are very friendly they will make sure you are welcome... I'm sure." However, despite his words the otter sounded a little unsure and Tod couldn't help but notice the nervous otter's glance at him.

One of the tallest bears stepped forward, his fur chestnut brown blowing in the breeze across his muscular and yet lithe figure. He walked over to Paulo and put his paw on the human's shoulder. "I will speak for this one."

The human smiled and if Derek hadn't whispered a quick shhh at him would have started introducing himself right there. Instead there was silence, awkward sullen silence. Tod tried not to glance at the tribe fearing that to stare would be rude. However, a growing pit of nervousness filled his stomach. None of them had moved and most were trying not to look in his direction.

The elder bear began to lower his arms and the otter gave a sad sigh casting a pitying glance at the bear. "I'm sorry, I've never heard of a tribe refusing to take on an outsider before."

The polar stood there motionless, trying to breath slowly, he tried to reassure himself that it didn't matter. Rejection was nothing new after all, still he knew he was lying. It did matter and he could feel tears begin to form behind his eyes. He began to turn, his eyes running along the line of kodiac bears, when he suddenly noticed movement. A young bear was moving towards him.

The dark brown furred male was slightly taller than the polar, he placed his paw on Tod's shoulders and looked into the polar's eyes, then announced. "I will speak for this one!" The bear spoke loud enough for all to here and squeezed Tod's shoulder as he did so. Tod exhaled suddenly aware that he had been holding his breath. He looked up into the warm friendly smile, his eyes filled with tears of gratitude.

With his charges now accepted Derek wandered off with Kao, the tribe following them as the four remained in their positions. Then suddenly the bear took his paw off Tod's shoulder. "It's ok now you can relax now. My name is Keio and I will look after you."

"T...thank you for speaking for me." Tod replied in deepest earnest, the feelings of rejection strong still within him. "I'm Tod."

"Come with me Tod I will show you my home." The bear said turning and walking back to the village.

Tod grabbed his bag and followed the other bear trotting to catch up. As they walked through the village the children scurried out of his way. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Paulo wading through a sea of young bears pulling at his clothes and jabbering at him.

His guide caught him staring and with a directness that was both refreshing and disturbing said. "They are scared of you." The bear didn't pause as he headed to a hut nearby.

"Why?" Tod asked dragging his eyes off the warm welcome the human was getting and trying to ignore the jealous feelings inside of him.

"One of our most common folk tales involves a tribe of white bears who roam the seas stealing the souls from any who encounter them." Keio informed the polar as he entered a small hut. He gestured to a small bed of leaves. "I sleep here and you sleep there." He gestured to a bare patch of ground just next to it.

Dumping his bag the polar nodded his understanding. "Aren't you afraid I'll steal your soul?"

The bear chuckled and shook his head. "No my soul is my own, no-one can take it by force only I can give it away. Besides I looked into your eyes and what I saw looking back was no demon, just a person hurt by a rejection he couldn't understand." The bear put a friendly arm around Tod's shoulders. "They will learn they were wrong soon and accept you properly."

Tod flushed with warming gratitude, he had no way of expressing how painful even the temporary rejection had been and so simply replied. "Thank you."

Keio sat down on his bed the leaves rustling and crackling as his large frame crushed them a little. "We will get you some bedding material soon. However, first please tell me, why did you come here?"

The young polar carefully sat down on the floor too scared to lean on the wall lest it break he put his paws out behind him and leaned uncomfortably on them. "I... just wanted to explore I guess."

The brown bears smile faded and he looked out the door. "My friend, I just spoke up for you in front of my tribe. Please do not lie to me."

Unprepared and amazed Tod could do nothing but open and close his mouth as he struggled to think of a response. "I... I didn't lie I did want to explore. However, I didn't tell the whole truth either." He closed his eyes as he realised he had no choice but to let his guide know and hope that he wasn't kicked out of the tribe after just five minutes.

"I... I have a disease." He whispered quietly. "It's not contagious, I'm not a threat to anyone." The silence that followed was deafening and eventually the bear realised he would have to offer more information. "It's called Puckra syndrome, it's a genetic abnormality. You see my people, once a year we hibernate, our bodies force us to sleep for a month. However, due to Puckra I can't hibernate... I stay awake while my world sleeps."

Keio turned and looked at the frightened bear but didn't respond or offer a word or sign comfort and so Tod continued. "Less than one polar in a hundred thousand suffers from Puckra. It's pretty much considered a curse, the other polar don't trust us you see after all we could do anything to them while they sleep. In the olden days anyone found out to be a Puc was killed or castrated. These days they just inter us every year, while the hibernation goes on we are locked up in small camps. It's not pleasant and well my military service was ending, hibernation was due and I had a chance to go somewhere else. I thought this place would be easier to cope with, I mean physically your species is quite similar to mine."

The brown bear nodded his head and smiled. "Now you are telling the truth and I understand. It is easier no go where you don't belong than to stay where you should belong but don't."

Tod's mind spun, he'd never told anyone about his disease by choice. Once other polars knew about it they treated him with distrust. He had lived his life hiding his shame and now he had told someone he found it hard to believe acceptance could be that easy. "I... I guess you are right, I never thought of it that way before."

Keio leaned over and put a large friendly paw on Tod's chest, and looked into his eyes. "Someday soon you may belong here, then you will be somewhere you belong and are wanted."

Tod found himself wiping away a few stray tears that seemed to fill his eyes. The idea of being somewhere he was both wanted and belonged was too much for him. All his life he'd lived with the stigma of being a Puc. He was shunned in school, in the military he'd been the butt of every joke and every malicious prank. Quite frankly even if the Kodiac bears never accepted him they couldn't reject him in a worse way than his own people had.

The two sat and talked for several hours. Tod found himself opening up like he had never been able to before. He shared some of the stories of his life a brief account of his part in the recent action on the lapine world Prime against the dragos. Before they knew it the sun was beginning to set, the air was much cooler and Keio stood up saying. "We should go or we will miss last meal. Come this way to the food hall."

The two bears wove their way through the village, the young polar feeling much better about himself and his choice to come here. He nodded to the other members of the tribe, several of who gave him a reassuring nod in response. The children still stayed clear, but it was looking like the adults were already starting to take to him.

The food hall was little more than a large roof on poles with several crowded tables under it, no walls just a roof covered in the same thick leaves that formed Keio's bed. There were dozens of kodiac already there sitting elbow to elbow, talking and laughing as they ate. The sun was dipping low and its red glow seemed to bring out the red fur of his hosts. He noticed several of the males had paint in their fur, mostly on their chests various swirls and symbols. All of them had two white bands around their left arm. He would later learn these were the tribe's elders.

Keio pulled him to a table and pushed him into a seat opposite Paulo who had stripped down already and was wearing nothing but pants. At least Tod hoped he was wearing pants he could see a lot of skin and wasn't going to check under the table to see if there was anything covering the rest.

"Hi, isn't this wonderful? How's your guide? Mines called Mato, he's so sweet. I'm staying with him and his wife Nerys." Paulo said gleefully, his questions coming so fast after each other there was no time to reply. "They are taking us hunting tomorrow, can you believe it? Oh but first there's some sort of rite of passage, I'm not sure what and Mato isn't going to tell me, the tease. I hope you like fish stew cause that's what's on the menu today..."

The polar found himself not listening to the human's babble as he looked around the hall. Most of the adults were ignoring him and most of the children were staring at him. He tried to smile reassuringly at them, but the children all just hid their faces when he tried to make eye contact.

He was distracted from his futile efforts by Keio placing a large bowl in front of him with an audible thud. He looked at the bowl, it contained a huge serving of what looked like some sort of stew, slightly green with chunks of some sort of brown meat and unidentified vegetables floating in it. The smell was distinct but not unpleasant, looking around he noticed none of the kodiac were using spoons instead they lifted the bowl to their lips and drank. He gave Keio a nervous smile of thanks before he lifted the bowl and began to drink.

The bowl was actually rather pleasant the meat was chewy but with a nice musky flavour and there was some sort of spice bringing a warmth to his tongue. However, the warmth began to increase rather rapidly and he almost dropped the bowl as he began to cough, his mouth was on fire. The tall bear that had spoken for Paulo laughed and slapped him hard on the back.

"You see children, he isn't a Knerst bear, they know how to take their Snoll spice!" He half shouted and the tribe erupted in laughter all eyes looking at Tod. The embarrassed bear suddenly felt tiny, however, just as feelings of hurt began to form Keio placed a paw on his thigh and squeezed.

The bear whispered into his ear. "Sorry, but the children will stop being afraid of you now." Tod realised it had been a plan to help him and he found himself laughing along with the crowd. He got a bigger laugh as he slowly pushed the bowl away from himself and a third when someone gave him a glass off water and he downed it in one streams of water escaping over his muzzle soaking his chest and stomach.

He was given a new bowl of stew, this one much less green and the smell far less spicy. The tall bear, who Tod guessed was Mato, winked at him and the polar could see the good natured mischievous twinkle in his eye. "This one's far less spicy, the cubs love it."

Tod smiled as another ripple of laughter ran around the food hall. He took a slightly dramatic sip and then gave a slightly over the top appreciative sound. "Much better, hey you can't blame me, I come from an ice planet, anything that isn't frozen is too hot for me." With one last round of laughter the moment was over and most of the bears went back to their meals.

"Well played, Keio said all we needed to give you was an opening and you'd do the rest." Mato said as he began to sip his stew, which Tod noticed was a lot greener and therefore more spicy than the one which had been too much for him.

"He did?" The polar asked his heart warmed by the faith Keio apparently already had in him.

"Yeah, he said you were a being of hidden depths and we should not underestimate you. I look forward to seeing how you handle the hunt tomorrow, you can swim I assume?" The brown bear asked after another deep draft of his stew.

Smiling broadly the polar nodded. "Oh I'm sure I can keep up." Despite their rather lumber appearance to other beings the polar were extremely well adapted for the ocean. He could swim for miles before feeling even the slightest bit tired and hold his breath for half an hour between surfacing.

"But, first there's the rite of passage right? You gonna tell us what it is?" Paulo piped up excitedly.

Mato chuckled and messed up the human's hair replying. "No tomorrow you face the unknown and we find out what you are made of."

Keio frown a little, "We're not even supposed to tell you that there is a test, you are supposed to be completely unprepared."

The other kodiac caught the warning note in Keio's voice, however as a fellow hunter neither one outranked the other, so he dismissed Keio's misgivings with a grin and a shrug.

The meal ended a few minutes later as the sun finally set the kodiac bears began to wander back to their own huts. Tod and Keio took their leave of the others and wandered back, making a stop off in the bushes on the way to grab an armful of broad leaves. This was lain down in their hut to form Tod's bed. The Kodiac bade the polar a good night and a few seconds later started snoring softly.

As his eyes closed Tod couldn't help but reflect on the day. He'd started it on a space station surrounded by thousands of computers and millions of tonnes of metal. Now here he was on a pile of leaves, in a rickety wooden hut being lulled gently to sleep the sound of waves crashing on a perfect beach nearby. He smiled to himself, sometimes life can be too damn good to be real and Tod knew all to well that he should savour those moments.

He was woken by someone gently shaking his shoulder, he opened his eyes and in the dim light he could make out the ever eager and happy face of Paulo. "Wake up, we have to be off soon."

Tod sat up rubbing his eyes and then as they focused in the dim light of the pre-dawn he glanced at the human and could only think of one thing to say. "Loincloth? Seriously?"

The human laughed in his good natured way and replied. "When in Rome."

"Huh?"

"Oh sorry it's a human expression." Paulo replied with a chuckle.

"When in Rome wear a loincloth? We're not in Rome though." Tod said perplexed as he fished through his bag for some fresh clothes.

Paulo laughed again and answered. "No when in Rome do as the Romans do. It means when you go somewhere try doing what the locals do."

"We polar have an expression that seems apt now. It goes, 'If you want me in a loincloth you will have to kill me first.'" The polar replied pulling on a red top and standing up. "So where do we need to go."

Leading the bear outside as he replied Paulo pointed at the beach. In the dim light Tod could just about make out a group of Kodiac waiting on the beach. "Any idea what this rite of passage will be?" Tod asked as they walked towards the group.

"No, but they probably just want to paddle us with soft bats or something. I'm sure it will be harmless." The human replied not knowing that less than three minutes later he would be knocked unconscious.

The rite of passage turned out to be a fight against the hunt leader, to 'prove your courage'. The human had that surprisingly, but no fighting skill or muscle and one light tap from the huge hulking bear that lead the hunt was all it took.

As Tod stepped forward Keio whispered "Just let him tag you and go down, no need to drag it out it's a test of courage."

The little polar stood before Khris the hunt leader, who was a seven and a half foot tall hulking mass of muscles. The white bear looked tiny in comparison. He looked up into the brown bear's face and met his steady gaze with one of his own and then smiled. Polar military training was the finest in the galaxy and he was a fully trained soldier, tried and tested in combat.

As the large bear took his first swing, he dodged quickly outside it, spinning his body down the arm, his left elbow slamming hard into the hunt leader's kidney. He continued his turn doing a full three hundred and sixty degrees swinging his leg and putting as much of his weight behind the kick as he could. His blow landed on the brown bears thigh. The large male cried out in surprise and pain, as he fell down on one knee.

Tod was quick to capitalise with a strong right hook to the bear's jaw. To the polar's surprise Khris didn't go down. The hunt leader may have under-estimated his opponent but he was an experienced fighter and was not going to let himself get felled that easily. Ignoring the pain in his leg he hauled himself back to his feet and into a fighting stance. Much warier of his opponent now, he circled him slowly sending out cautious test punches, he was prepared for the polar to repeat his move and wouldn't fall for the same trick twice.

The smaller bear danced lightly on his feet as he blocked, parried and dodged the other's blows. The larger bear had some considerable reach over his, meaning he could keep the smaller bear at a distance and eventually he'd get lucky and tag him. Which is what happened a few seconds later a searching blow slipped passed Tod's guard and connected with his chin. The white bear rolled his head with the punch lessening its impact but he was still sent stumbling backwards.

Roaring with delight Khris rushed forward to push home his advantage. Tod turned catching the bear's powerful punches on his shoulders as he lashed out with his leg. Kicking the larger bear in the ankle almost sweeping the kodiac's legs out from under him. It send Khris back a few feet as Tod got to his feet favouring his injured shoulder as the brown bear limped heavily on his injured leg.

Just as they approached each other for another round Mato and Keio jumped between them Keio shouted. "Whoa enough, we are losing daylight and this was supposed to be a trial of courage, I'd say he's proved that wouldn't you Khris?"

The large bear grinned a bloody grin and nodded. "He has, although someday I'd like to finish this fight, I haven't been so challenged for a long time and I want to see who will win."

The polar stood up straight and nodded at the other bear. "I promise you a rematch, but next time I won't go so easy on you."

Khris burst out laughing and gave the polar an approving pat on the shoulder, making Tod wince a little in pain. "He'll do, now give him a briefing on our prey and the lantient snakes."

Keio took a look at the polar's shoulder as he whispered. "Wow, you really impressed him, in all my years I've never seen anyone get him down onto his knees."

"Polar army, one hundred and forty fifth recon squad. First into the fight last out of the fray." Tod couldn't help but think was strange how quickly that came out of himself without even meaning to. He was still proud of his past and his people even if they could never accept him. He decided to change the subject anyway as his time in the army had not ended on a happy note. "What are we hunting and what are lantient snakes?"

"Our prey are balask, giant brown fish ten foot long with pointy noses. They are harmless but need to be brought down in one hit or they will swim away so fast we will never catch them. Lantient snakes are something to watch out for, large predators over a hundred foot long capable of carrying away an unwary hunter. We lost a hunter to a lantient attack last year. They move like lightning, the scales are white and they are hard to spot against the white sand. That's why it's important to swim as near the seabed as you can for as long as you can, so you can spot any. They are rare though so hopefully we won't see any on your first hunt."

With that very brief summary the brown bear gave Tod a spear and the group all waded into the water. Tod and the human brining up the rear. The bear gave a concerned look at the human. "You sure you can keep up?"

"No, but I'm willing to try and I have my aqua breather unit so I can stay underwater for two days if I have to." The human replied pointing to a small device attached to his chest as he dove underwater after the kodiac.

For a clerk Tod had to admit the human had a lot of courage to go swimming on a alien world with potential killer serpents and nothing to protect himself but a spear he probably wouldn't be able to use. He dove after him the sun by this point now fully showing and lighting the waters quiet well. He was easily able to keep up as the bears swam out. Paulo on the other hand had to be carried on Mato's back the whole way.

After almost and hour, or three breaths, the group spotted their prey a school of huge brown fish feeding on some form of seaweed. The hunting party took another breath and sank right to the seabed twenty meters down. There they readied themselves to try and catch their prey.

It was Mato who took he first shot, with expert skill he killed a particularly large balask. The next two hunters missed and before Tod knew it the hunting pack was looking at him to take his shot. He picked out his prey and threw his spear somewhat clumsily and through luck and probably his sniper training he managed to hit his target. The fish squirmed and for a moment he thought it was just wounded as it started to head away. However, it didn't get far before it expired and began to float to the surface dead.

Keio patted him on the arm in congratulations and the polar couldn't help but grin widely with pride. He looked around to share his moment with Paulo, only to see that Mato had pulled the human clear of the hunting grounds. The two were hunched together on the seabed a few meters clear of the group. In his naïve way the polar assume Mato had taken the human clear of the hunt for his own safety. He was too far away to note the thrusting motions of the bear or the pained yet blissful expressions on the human's face.

As he turned away he caught a flash of white. Spinning his head back he spotted something a serpent shape far off but moving closer. It was stalking Mato and the human. Turning back to the hunt group he waved and motioned but the group had swam on with the shoal of fish and were not looking in his direction. Mato and the human were also not looking at him and clearly were unaware of the danger.

Tod began to swim as fast as he could, his eyes locked on the serpent, it seemed much larger than he thought it would, it's head was huge, it's jaws looked almost wide enough to swallow a bear whole. It was charging the two unaware hunters and Tod hurled himself at them. Shoving Mato with his right paw and Paulo with his left he hurled them both to either side of him.

With his prey out of reach the serpent snagged the only target left. The air was knocked out of Tod's lungs as it bit him in the shoulder and carried him off at speeds no bear could hope to match. He could see the terror in Mato's face briefly as he was carried away. It matched the own in his heart. The snake suddenly stopped and shook him violently, The polar struggled to keep his breath. As he began to kick and claw at the reptile. He felt coils more powerful than any muscle in his body curling around him.

The beast meant to crush the life out of him and Tod knew it. Desperately he grabbed hold of the head on his shoulders, his claws scratching and scrapping at the hard scales uselessly. Then he saw the creature blink and as it began to squeeze he clawed at its eyes in his final act of desperation. Feeling two satisfying pops as his claws pierced its eyeballs. The beast spat him out coiling round itself again and again in its blind rage.

The bear kicked for the surface his lungs screaming at him for breath. He gasped deeply as he breached the surface. His relief lasting only a moment. His shoulder was in agony and he could feel some strange warmth spreading through him. He knew he had been poisoned, looking around both under water and on the surface he could see no sign of the hunting party.

Alone, lost, injured and poisoned Tod made one guess at the direction of the island and started to swim. His muscles were burning as his actions drove the poison faster and further through his system. He focused on the action of swimming, willing his aching body on for mile after mile. He noticed nothing until he felt his feet touching land and could see the beach in front of him though his dimming eyes. He struggled through the surf on all fours and crawled up the sand. As his eyes began to dim and his consciousness slipped away, he tried to call for help but all that came out of his throat was a quiet whimper.

He awoke with a dull throbbing pain running throughout him. He could tell he was inside somewhere and it seemed dim. He struggled trying to sit up only for a strong brown paw to push him back down. "Easy there, you have been through a lot you need to rest." Tod looked up into the smiling face of Keio. "The lantient's poison has almost run its course; it's not deadly only meant to paralyse its prey. I don't know how you survived it and swam to shore, but I am so glad you made it. The tribe will be overjoyed to hear you have awaken at last."

The polar looked lay back and sighed then suddenly his head lifted up. "Mato, Paulo are they..."

"Fine thanks to you, they told us what had happened and we... we thought you were dead. Once a lantient takes someone they never come back, until now." The bear sat down next to him and stroked Tod's hair affectionately. "I am overjoyed that you came back and after you have rested more would love to hear the tale of how you escaped."

The polar was a little unnerved by the unfamiliar stroking, however, it was actually kind of pleasant and he found himself pushing weakly against the paw. As it stroked down his cheek and neck then onto his chest. He looked up into Keio's warm eyes and he felt something inside him stirring. However, the moment was broken by a joyous cry in the doorway. It was Mato, seeing the white bear alive and awake the tall thin bear was overcome with relief and happiness he couldn't contain himself. Keio had to step in front of him or the bear would surely have embraced Tod in a hug more crushing than the lantient's coils.

Once calmed down a little the bear got on his knees and bowed his head. "Thank you, for saving us and for coming back. I... would never have forgiven myself if you had not returned. I will accept any punishment you name for my carelessness."

Tod looked at Keio in confusion. "I don't understand."

"He was not watching the hunt, he was off engaging in physical pleasure with his guard down. He put his life and that of all the other hunters at risk. As the victim of his carelessness you get to choose his punishment. Whippings, beatings, burning or loss of an ear or finger are fitting punishments. The worst our people can offer to fit this crime." Keio responded his eye did hold some sympathy for his friend as he looked at Mato's bowed head. "You may ask for anything but his life or serious crippling."

The polar lay there shocked, unsure what to say, he closed his eyes and after a minute or two replied. "Mental anguish, that is his punishment. To believe that he has caused the death of another through his own negligence is a torture un-matched by any physical pain."

The two kodiac bears looked at each other and then back at the white bear, eventually Mato spoke up. "You mean I am not to be punished?"

"I mean that you have already been punished and I suspect the anguish you have went through in he last few hours while I was lost would have been worse than any physical pain anyone could inflict." The polar replied calmly, he had no wish to have any pain inflicted on anyone ever.

"It was days actually, you were found by the cubs on the beach two days ago and we were not sure you would recover from the poison until now." Keio said quietly and then smiled. "It is a most fitting punishment and I will inform Khris of your decision."

"Could you also apologise to him and advise it may be a long time before I can give him his rematch?" The polar asked with a wry smile.

Keio laughed despite himself he couldn't keep the look of affection and longing out of his eyes when he looked back at Tod. The polar did seem to understand, though before Mato had arrived, Keio was sure he had begun to accept his overtures. Maybe in a few days when he was physically Keio could make some further overtures for the handsome white male's affections.

Mato thanked Tod again and again until Keio practically threw him out saying that the polar needed his rest. Then he turned his attention back to the white bear, brining him a bottle of water for a much needed drink before telling him of the celebration the tribe was preparing. "You are to be the soul of honour at the feast. You will need to be painted up as an elder and you will sit with them during the meal. Then afterwards the cubs are sent to bed and there is music, drink and dancing all through the night. Some couples will announce their soul bonding then I am sure."

"Soul bonding?" Tod asked, a little nervously the idea of being an object of celebration was so foreign to him that he could scarcely process the information he was being given.

"Yes it's like marriage I suppose, only no ceremony, the couples merely chose to copulate during the celebration." Keio informed him casually as the bear made plans to go get some food for his patient.

"Wait, they copulate... there in front of everyone?" The white bear asked, his face a mask of shock with a hint of thrill and desire.

"Oh yes, that way the tribe all know who is soul bonded to whom." The kodiac replied in casual tones, Tod realised this was the norm to Keio, this was how the tribe did things. He decided not to say any more about it, he could always look the other way, or maybe not after all he was just a bear with urges like any other.

The next few days passed quickly and his strength returned just as fast. Keio was ever the attentive nurse, not letting any visitor stay too long and tax his patient. In fact the two spent quite a few hours together, and Tod found himself with confusing emotions he couldn't quite place. He missed the kodiac whenever he left for water or food and when he was there he often found himself just staring at his handsome features, looking into those kind eyes.

On the day of the feast Keio brought in a bowl of black dye pigment and of white pigment. As the polar's nurse he had been granted the honour of also dining at the elders table. The two bear's knelt opposite each other naked as Keio explained. "We have to use black pigment on you because your fur would not show up the normal white. However, the patterns should be the same. Please just try to copy what I do to you on me."

With that Keio dipped his fingers in the black pigment and began to paint swirling circles on the bear's chest. Tod had to admit he enjoyed the sensation, both of the fingers stroking him and the moist pigment sticking in his fur. "These symbols represent the sun and moons that guide us." Keio informed him as the polar began to paint the symbols on the kodiac's chest.

Next the bear drew several wavy lines down the polar's flanks and Tod had to suppress a whimper as the bear's paw drew closer to his crotch. He felt something inside his sheath begin to tingle. He began to draw the lines down Keio enjoying the firm feel of the kodiac beneath him. Unlike the polar the kodiac were quiet lean and fit, not needing to store up blubber for hibernation allowed them a much more lithe frame.

The polar realised he was staring at the bear's form admiring his frame and handsome features. His mind spun with that realisation, his paw stopped as he looked up bashfully his eyes meeting Keio's and he suddenly looked away. His heart was beating fast in his chest. The feelings he had been developing over the last few days, he finally knew what they were.

"T..these symbols represent the waves and the seabed, between which we paint this to represent the oceans harvest." Keio was having trouble concentrating, he could scent the polar's rising musk and arousal. He had noticed the polar staring and found Tod's bashful reaction adorable. He also couldn't help but enjoy the soft feeling of the ample stomach in front of him. So unusual for a kodiac yet so fitting and attractive on the polar. He wanted to press himself against the warm bulk and squeeze his body to the softness.

Instead he got more pigment and drew the armbands on their right arms explaining. "This symbolises our rank but by drawing it on our right it shows that our rank only lasts today."

Lastly Keio began to work on the swirling signs on the bears thighs. He couldn't help but notice how plump and swollen the polar's sheath was, stopping himself from bending down, and beginning to lick the thick furry sheath and huge bear balls, was proving to be maddeningly difficult. He focused instead on the painting, gasping a little as the polar began to mimic the markings on the kodiac's thighs, his own sheath was swelling greatly in fact a small pink cocktip was just peaking out when they finished.

Tod couldn't help but smile as he got to touch the brown bear so tenderly in such a sensitive spot. He knew his parents, teachers and fellow soldiers would be mortified at his actions. However, as he enjoyed the intimate touch of the male he had grown to have such strong feelings for so quickly he realised he didn't much care what they would think of this act of delicate intimacy.

"O...ok we are done. Now we just need to put our loincloths on and head to the celebration." Keio said, wishing that there was no feast tonight, that instead he could stay and explore the polar with his paws and maybe tongue. He'd insisted that Tod had to wear the loincloth or offend the tribe elders. It had been a lie, but with just the loincloth on the polar's naked rear would be exposed all night and he would be able to fill his mind with sexy images.

As he pulled on the loincloth Tod sighed happily letting the large kodiac lead him by the paw, enjoying the warmth of his touch once more. He looked at Keio as the bear was walking him to the celebration and he smiled. He knew now what he wanted more than anything else in his entire life and it was to be with the brown bear. The one who had accepted him as he was without question or doubt. Who had shown him more kindness than any other being. Now all he needed to do was figure out how to tell Keio, after all how do you tell someone you met a week ago that you love them?

The feast was a bit of an event, held not in the food hall but outside it on a small grassy area with a huge bonfire pit and a fire built up so high it was twice the height of the tallest bear there. Everyone wanted to speak to, congratulate and touch the white bear. For Tod it was a weird and slightly scary experience, being the centre of this much attention. However, Keio stood by him watching protectively over his charge and if the white bear looked taxed or overwhelmed Keio would swoop in and move along the kodiac who was bothering the polar.

Of course it wasn't just kodiac's in attendance Tod spotted Paulo sitting with Mato and a female bear, he assumed Nerys Mato's mate. The three seemed to be very close and affectionate with each other. The polar just shrugged it off, after all who was he to judge another race or even two and how they chose to interact. He gave them a friendly wave as he reached his seat of honour. He could also see Derek and a couple of other lutrai smattered amongst the bears talking and laughing. How like an otter to sniff out and join a party.

The tribe's chief Kao stood to praise the actions of Tod the lenient slayer. A bit of an overstatement, as he just blinded the creature and swam for it out of desperation rather than hunting it down and killing it in paw to scale conflict. Tod began to worry that he would need to make a speech and less than a few seconds later he was proved right as Kao finished his introduction and waved a paw in his direction. Hundreds of eyes turned to look at him expectantly.

He rose a little nervously to his feet as everyone hushed. His mind raced to find something appropriate to say. "I... We polar don't believe in keeping everyone from their food so this will be brief. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for making me feel welcome, it is been a truly rare gift for me to feel so accepted. Now please dig in, it all looks so wonderful!"

The gathered kodiac erupted in cheers as everyone started to dig in to the food laid out in front of them. Besides him Tod could hear Keio chuckling away to himself. He gave the kodiac an inquisitive glance.

"There were three other elders who were supposed to give speeches before we ate. However, when Soul of Honour says eat, you may eat. Tonight your word is law and right now everyone loves you for letting them skip the speeches and get right to feasting." Keio said as he reached out to grab some balask steaks, he gave the white bear a comforting smile. "Dig in, as you so eloquently put it."

The polar did as he was instructed and the feast was amazing. So many new foods and so many wonderful flavours. The bears gorged as only bears can. Tod tried every dish and drank the sweet local mead until his head began to swim. Then after a sweet dessert course the cubs were sent off and the tables were removed. The younger adult bears and the lutrai got up to dance as rhythmic music filled the air.

Tod sat with Keio laughing freely as the bear shared some funny stories of himself and Mato as cubs. His head was swimming and as he looked out he could see hundreds of almost naked bodies moving rhythmically to the music. The bloated feeling of the feast began to wane and he found himself yawning. His eyes falling on Paulo and Mato, the bear was on his knees the human rutting up behind him. The polar gasped loudly in shock.

Keio followed his gaze and laughed. "Ha, at least there are no lantient snakes this time."

"But... he has a wife right?" Tod asked unable to tear his eyes away from the rutting couple. He'd never really seen gay sex before and to see it out in the open so blatant was just so alien to him he couldn't help but watch. His half drunk mind didn't notice his own sheath swelling a little as he watched licking his lips.

"Oh didn't you see earlier, Paulo soul bound with her first, over there by the food hall." Keio observed casually as he handed a bottle to the bear. "Here cansaka juice, to wake you up. It's made from roots of a tree that grows on the mountain. It is mostly used to keep sentry guards awake at night."

In his drink addled mind the bear didn't think he just drank the sweet juice, his eyes still feasting on the gay rutting as Paulo finally came then began to jerk off Mato, squatting between the bear's huge thighs. If he had been thinking he might have remembered his warnings from basic training about how most species used caffeine to keep awake and how to most species caffeine didn't have the effect it had on polars.

A few minutes later his head began to swim, logic, reason, doubt and their friend caution all floated out of his mind as the caffeine flooded his mind. He stood up losing his loincloth and not noticing as he did so. He offered a paw to Keio and pulled him into the dancing throng.

As the drug took full effect the polar let go of his inhibitions, he danced wildly holding nothing back, grinding his body against any other he could find. He had fleeting memories of warm fur, lutrai eyes, human skin as he danced excitedly. His mind floated on a cloud of pure bliss drinking in the wonderful sensations. He scarcely was aware of what his body was doing. Was that Keio he was grinding against, could he feel something hard brushing his rear as he ground sensually back against the kodiac?

A warm feeling in his mouth, a tongue probing deeply and wonderfully as they kissed. The warm and wonderful tingle of soft fur caressing his hard cock as it rubbed against another's body. Paws on his, fingers laced as they embraced, still dancing to the rhythmic music, the world around them fading as they slipped down to their knees.

Their lips parted with gasps and moans of delight, the young polar and his soon to be lover lay by the embers of the bonfire, the kodaic's legs wrapped around his waist. He could feel the heat from the fire, it seemed cool compared to the heat of his heart and of Keio's body. He pressed down for another kiss his mind still gone, only his body's needs were being met.

His paw was guided to something slick and hard, throbbing with need. He wrapped his huge digits around the rod and began to stroke it on instinct as he moved his hips, grinding his cock against the rear of his lover. His body knew what it wanted and while his mind floated around above them blissfully unaware, the body took what it needed. Finding the sweet spot he thrust forward. The kodiac bear cried out into his muzzle as they kissed, he swallowed the sweet pleasured moans of his lover.

Then still moving with the music the drum beats matching his heart the bear began to rut. The sensation surrounding his cock was unmatched and so deeply pleasurable as his tight lover moaned and bucked against his thrusting. The bear's powerful legs wrapped around him pulling him in deeper and harder. The two lay on the floor rutting in front of the whole tribe as many watched and cheered them on.

Sensations of pure bliss filled his body and it wanted more. Thrusting harder and faster pounding his brown lover, his heavy balls smacking off the bear's tightly toned ass. His tongue hungry as it greedily plundered the kodiac's sweet maw, savouring the taste and sensation. His free paw stroking the male's chest lovingly as his hips moved faster and harder the pleasure increasing with each thrust.

With his mind beyond control and his body in charge he mated the kodiac with wild uncontrolled passion. He broke the kiss crying out in passion, his paw moving like a blur on the kodiac's hot shaft, he felt it throb hard and moisture soaking into his fur as the ass around his cock began to spasm and claps around his cock. He was pushed to his peak of pleasure roaring out into the night as his body shook, his balls contracting as they drained into his lover.

The two lay there panting heavily, their hot damp breath clung to their fur. Keio smiled and leaned up to kiss the silent polar. The he gasped as the polar thrust again, the cum inside him acting as lube. "Mmm, oh you don't...have to bond more than...ahhh once." The brown bear said as the white bear started to thrust into him.

Tod wasn't aware of anything but the pleasurable feeling around his cock, his body wanted and needed more. As he recovered from his first orgasm he began to thrust faster and faster, his thick cock crashing into his lovers prostate repeatedly. Keio cried out in pleasure his body bucking back against the polar's hips. "Mmm but...ohh....by the gods...don't stop...fuck yes!"

As the drugged bear continued thrusting faster and harder, his hips pounding firmly into the kodiac's. The sound of their sloppy mating could be heard above the music as with each thrust a slurping squelching sound could be heard. Along with deep groans from both bears. The kodiac could hear someone chuckling glancing to his side he could see Mato and Paulo watching them with glee as they stroked each others' erect meat.

"Oh....mmm...that's it...my love....so good, just....please don't stop." Keio cried out burying his muzzle in the shoulder of the bear leaning over him. He could see Tod's eyes glazed over and just assumed he was drunk. He found himself unable to speak as the polar's breeding got faster and faster. The power of his thrusts forcing the air out of his body, he moaned, panted and cried out with each thrust.

The kodiac's cock was painfully erect trapped between the two bodies. With each thrust the polar's soft stomach and warm fur caressed ever inch of his sensitive meat. As the merciless pounding of his prostate grew too much Keio's paws grabbed tightly onto his passionate lover for support. He pulled firmly on Tod's fur, biting down on the shoulder as waves of pleasure passed with each thrust, he rode them until his body was unable to hold back any longer and with a moan stifled by his lover's shoulder he came for a second time.

The drugged and aroused polar barely noticed the fluid soaking his fur. He could feel the tightness of his mate increase and this drove him into a near feral state, he mated the brown bear with animal ferocity snarling and grunting with each powerful thrust, until with another roar he claimed Keio's ass for a second time. His thick black meat throbbing as he emptied a second load of thick musky polar cream into his mate.

Keio lay back panting heavily his mind spinning, as the intensity of his second orgasm left him gasping and as weak as a kitten. He could hear Mato laughing and clapping. He looked over at his friend and smiled, seeing Mato clapping two very damp paws. He looked around the rest of his tribe unable to wipe the smile off his face. He had never soul bonded before, but had to admit being taken so passionately in front of everyone twice left him in no doubt of his white lover's feelings for him.

The brown bear leaned up and kissed his lover, the white bear responding in kind, their tongues met and danced. The caffeine high was beginning to fade and as his mind was beginning to focus a little Tod found himself locked in a passionate kiss. The sensations surround his cock buried inside the increasingly sloppy bear ass were incredibly powerful. His body was not yet ready to give control back to his mind the caffeine cloud still muddling his wits he began to thrust again.

The brown bear moaned loudly their lips still locked in passion, his eyes opened wide in disbelief as the bear began to mate him a third time. He could feel the result of the first two matings leaking out of his rear with every thrust. The polar's cock continue to rut into him either through random luck, or the sheer thickness of the cock, it continued to assault his abused prostate.

His own cock growing quickly hard Keio began to buck back into each thrust, his stretched rear far more ready and able to take the breeding. Yet this time the polar was mating him far gentler he looked up into those ice blue eyes and lost himself in the gaze of his love. He reached up with his paws and caressed the polar's cheeks, then putting his arms around Tod's neck as he rode out another but much gentler mating.

The polar was tireless in his mating letting the speed and strength of his rutting grow slowly. Keio could barely contain himself he broke the kiss gasping and panting and looked into his lover's eyes. "I...love you... oh by... all the gods... I love you!" He cried out as for a third time his cock squeezed between their two bodies was stroked to orgasm.

Tod's ears heard the words but his mind was still heavily clouded by the caffeine in his system and he couldn't recognise them. He could feel the powerful sensations of the bear oragsming around him and with his cock extra sensitive after the first two orgasms he came quickly. This time he jetted just a few additional drops of potent seed into his lover.

The two lay there panting, Tod's mind finally returning enough to let him pull out and shakily get to his feet. Keio sprang up himself and the two made their way slightly shakily back to their hut where Tod collapsed into a deep sleep.

As the dawn broke Tod awoke in Keio's hut, the brown bear's arms were around him and Keio's warm mass was pressed up close behind him. His mouth felt like it was full of foul tasting paste and his head spun with the pain of a powerful hang over. He recognised then telltale signs of a caffeine hang over. His mind flooded with images and sensations. He shook as he remembered enough vague details to know what he and Keio did... repeatedly.

He slowly eased himself away from the bear and as soon as he was out of the hut he ran away from the village until he reached the sea. He walked along the beach until he found a spot on the sand shaded by trees. There he sat down breathing the fresh air deeply as he tried to work through the confusing whirl of emotions inside him.

He was there for just half an hour before a brown figure appeared walking along the beach the rising sun behind him stopped Tod from identifying him. For a moment he feared it was Keio. However, as it got closer he was able to identify Mato. The kodiac greeted him politely and then said." Paulo was deeply surprised by your actions last night. He explained your people's beliefs regarding all male love. I saw a drunk bear give in to temptations of the flesh and figured when I saw you sneaking out of Keio's hut that you might have some regrets."

"I wasn't drunk I was stoned on caffeine, polar's aren't supposed to take caffeine." Tod muttered keeping his eyes on the horizon.

"Oh, why's that?" The kodiac enquired as casually as he could.

"It gets us high and extremely horny." The white bear replied placing his head in his two large paws as the hangover throbbed away in his head.

Mato didn't wait for an invited he just sat down next to the polar and then said. "I know what your people teach and how you must feel but it was not wro..."

"I don't care what my people think, I love Keio of that I'm sure. If that bothers my people then screw them." Tod burst out a little louder and harsher than he meant.

"Are you sure? I had a whole speech planned, a good one, very eloquent." The brown bear asked in shock.

"Well feel free if you want to give your speech." The polar replied with a chuckle.

"No it sounds like you don't need it. However, if you aren't conflicted about everything, why did you sneak out and hide away on the beach?" The brown bear asked with a friendly pat on the polar's shoulder.

"Keio snores loudly and I have a serious hangover, I wanted peace and quiet." Tod replied with a laugh and then added honestly. "I also... wanted to try and remember more, last night was my first time and I can't remember anything more than a few sensations. I don't even know if I was any good. It's bothering me as your first time is supposed to be special right?"

"Well I wouldn't worry if I was you, no-one is good their first time, it's all nerves and the sensations are so strong you cum too soon. However, Keio seemed to love it, he coated you in cum more than once. I must admit watching you rut him again and again was very enjoyable, Paulo and I masturbated each other while we watched." The bear replied in his race's customary honest and frank way. "Still first times are nothing that special, if I was you I would look forward to the fourth fifth and sixtieth times. Those will be far more enjoyable as you learn what each other enjoys the sex gets so much better, until that first time seems like just an inadequate wank by comparison."

Tod smiled and nodded. "Sounds like good advice I guess. Tonight I will make some real memories with Keio. The first of many!" He reached out to hug the surprised brown bear. "Thank you."

"Anytime, now I have to go, the clean up of yesterday's celebrations will start soon. Oh Paulo has decided to stay forever. Though not as a hunter he will help the females cook instead. I hope to hear soon that you plan to stay too. The tribe wants you to and I would be sad if you left." Mato didn't wait for a reply he headed off towards the village.

The white bear sat alone and yet he knew he was surrounded by people who cared for him. He realised he had no desire to go home, life here was simple but good. Instead he headed back to Keio's hut. Finding the bear still sleeping he woke the kodiac with a warm and tender kiss to the lips.

Keio moaned and the smiled up at him. "Morning my love." The brown bear said as he yawned and stretched. "What time is it? I should get up the tribe will need my help cleaning."

The polar grinned and put a paw on the brown bear's chest holding him down as he leaned down close. "You can help later, for now I want to feel what I missed out on last night." With that he kissed the confused bear deeply, his tongue thrusting into the warm maw tasting and exploring as he lay down next to Keio.

Any confusion Keio had over what the polar may have missed out on the day before disappeared as he began to suckle on the thick ursine tongue, his own meeting and dancing with it. Tod's paws began to explore the brown bear's body, fingers running playfully through his plush fur as he caressed Keio's chest and stomach. He could feel the rapid rise and fall of Keio's chest, as the bear panted with barely contained excitement.

His paw's wandered lower and he felt his own excitement rise as his fingertips brushed through the extra soft fur around the kodiac's crotch and inner thighs. For the first time, that he remembered, he let his paw stray onto Keio's thick sheath and heavy balls. His fingers slowly explored as the sheath swelled and a thick pink cocktip peeked out.

Tod broke the kiss to look down as his fingers caressed the growing rod. He marvelled at the feel of skin on his fingertips. So silky and so hot, yet with a firmness that was truly divine. His fingers traced the ridge of Keio's cockhead and then down the throbbing veins. Finally he wrapped a full paw around the hot length and stroked it with one smooth motion making the brown bear gasp with pleasure.

The polar had never held anything that felt so right in his paw. He loved the weight of it, the strength, how it throbbed and how hard it was as he squeezed lightly. He also loved the soft lustful moans he was getting from his lover as he stroked his paw slowly up and down. He gasped loudly in surprise and pleasure as the kodiac bear's paw moved suddenly and he felt strong fingers surrounding his thick black meat squeezing and jerking it.

The brown bear used his other paw to pull Tod down into a passionate kiss. Their paws actions growing faster and faster, as their tongues danced and they shared sensual moans with each other. Before too long Tod felt a familiar pressure start to build and he broke the kiss. "P.., please s... stop." He begged his lover, whose paw stopped as his eyes asked a thousand silent questions which Tod answered with. "I want to... mate you like I did last night."

Keio couldn't help but grin broadly as the mate who had fucked him roughly, without so much as a 'please' or even a 'may I', asked him for permission. In response he moved rolling onto his left side lifting his tail and his right leg exposing his abused pucker. He had been grateful last night that he had the forethought to prepare his ass with some grease, otherwise the polar's rough fucking would have been agony. He also knew he would be slick back there for another few days.

Trembling with apprehension and desire the polar slide up behind the brown bear. Loving the feel of the warm body as he pressed his stomach and chest into Keio's back. The brown bear reached back and grasped Tod's cock and gently pulled it towards his abused and slick pucker. The polar closed his eyes as he felt his cocktip being pushed to the warm pucker.

A week ago he had been mortified to see a male otter hitting on a male human because it was the act of a deviant. Now not only had he committed much worse deviant acts while drugged, his only regret of those acts was that he was drugged and couldn't remember them. With that thought in his mind making him smile he thrust forward and his mind went white as unimagined pleasure surrounded his cocktip as it slid into the tightness of Keio.

Never had the bear imagined his cock could feel so good. He moaned out loudly into the warm musky air of the hut. Unable to contain himself he thrust forward more forcing his thick maleness in to the hilt. Fortunately the activities of the night had stretched the kodiac out so much that the rough thrusting was actually deeply pleasurable

Tod lay still gasping for breath as the pleasure of that first thrust began to fade a little, he could feel all ten inches of himself being gripped and massaged inside the wonderful brown bear, with who he had fallen so deeply in love. He buried his muzzle in the rough long fur of the brown's neck and panted. As he grew more accustomed to the feel of warm muscle, surrounding and massaging his hot drooling fuck pole, he decided to try a little thrust. Pulling back a few inches and then thrusting forward hard. Keio cried out in pleasure as the bearcock stroked something inside him that send pleasure coursing through his body. He grabbed his own cock and started to jerk it slowly, not wanting to cum too soon.

The polar had also cried out as the pleasure from that thrust had surpassed anything he was prepared for, not as intense as his first rough entrance but somehow far more satisfying. The moans of his lover excited him in a way he couldn't define, but he thrust again and made the brown bear moan once more. The pleasure surrounding his cock and the delicious sounds coming from his lover drove him on to keep thrusting. As he thrust and fucked the bear his confidence grew, the intense pleasure had faded to be replaced with something more manageable but far more satisfying, he kissed and licked his mate's shoulder. He had never dreamed anything could feel so good, his body was begging him to go faster.

"Oh...oh Tod... oh please faster, harder!" Keio begged as he pushed back against the polar. He loved the feeling of the warm soft bulk of Tod's belly as the two bears rutted, their bodies grinding in sensual, blissful unity.

The white bear had no choice but to give in to his body's and his lover's demands. He thrust forward faster and harder, his thrusting growing faster and faster. He could feel his huge balls bashing into the brown bear's ass with each powerful thrust with an audible smacking sound. Keio was bucking back against him, trying to get his cock deeper and helping with the thrusting.

The brown bear couldn't talk or think, the cock inside him was hitting some magical spot again and again, as the mating grew faster and more desperate he lost himself to the pleasure flowing through his body. He could no longer control his paw as it jerked his cock as fast as it could, he could feel his body preparing for an orgasm. Even the rough fuckings he had received last night couldn't compare with the controlled breeding he was getting. "Gonna ...cum." He gasped in warning as he gave in to the pleasure passing the point of no return.

Tod had been struggling to control himself as he heard the brown bear's desperate warnings, amidst their duet of pleasurable moans, he leg go of any control. He mated the brown bear with desperate need rutting wildly with all his strength, his hips crashing hard into Keio's, as his cock reamed deeper, harder and faster than ever inside his lover's ass.

The sudden increase in speed and strength of thrusting was all that Keio needed to send him over the edge. His thick cock throbbed as he sent long strings of thick musky cum over the floor of their hut. Tod cried out in pure bliss as the brown bear's ass suddenly became amazingly tight massaging his cock like nothing ever had before. He had to bite Keio' shoulder to stop himself from roaring so loudly the entire island would hear them. As his body convulsed his cock still reaming the brown bear fucked his cum deep inside his lover.

The polar continued fucking for another minute as he emptied every last drop into his lover. Eventually the two lay still, panting deeply in the stifling heat of their hut, the scent of their rutting still thick and heavy in their noses. Tod closed his eyes and held tightly to his lover and made himself a promise that he would never leave this world or his mate.
