#6 of Started with a Rock: Arc 2 - The Reunion

I don't really think a few select f-bombs really counts as adult, but, most of the people here on this site are that anyway. So call it mature if you want, there's no tag for it yet. Let's get down to business in Isshu!

"She...ah...passed away a while ago, lizards don't last too long in the scheme of things...her kids run the shop now, they're about the same age as she was back when you first met her....and yes, it did."

"That's only twenty years though. Serena... I want to see Anana one last time before she dies." Kyn's voice took on something similar to both sadness, and in some strange ways, a tiny bit of anger. <You know what I am capable of Serena.>

She curled her head up at him, and bared her teeth. <You are not going to fuck with the time stream just to see her one last time. She passed away of an overdose, and no, I don't know when exactly that it happened...and it was twenty-three years since you last visited me, not twenty I know because My heat is two years away. If you want to see her, I can give you a memory.>

<It's not the bloody same! I already fucked with the time stream simply by having been there in the first place!> He moved closer to face her and growled. A different sort of growl, one that, to most of those around, probably would be able to recognize.

She actually raised to her feet, her earfins shrinking back against her head threateningly. <No, I did, by allowing you to go with me, as you just Fuckingsaw, now get off your high horse and shut up before I burn you to a crisp one way or another.>

Kyn fell to his knees, defeated. "I should have gone back earlier... Dammit... Anana..."

"Perhaps... I should leave you two alone for a while." Clair said politely, heading back into her meditation room.

She dropped the alpha act the moment he dropped, and nudged up under him to get him on her back again. <Come fly with me, Little Kyn, public is not a good place to express feelings of this nature.> When he was either on her back, or in her arms, she turned back towards where Clair had disappeared. +My apologies...+ She started, and then flew at her top speed to the doors, pausing only to open one before spiraling up and through them, into the open air. <I'm sorry...I didn't think...it would be important...>

Kyn climbed onto Serena and waited until they were outside. <How... how could you have? There was really no indication... You did say she had... children.>

She shot virtually straight up until there was nothing but the sun and sky around them, devoid of clouds, then let herself tip backwards, and down back below the first set of clouds she found, assuming that he would be able to breath proper there. <Yes, three, A green, orangey-pink, and a bright pink.> She paused, sighing. <Okay; but no warning her, and you're not allowed to sound sad when we visit her...and it's after our trip to Isshu.>

Even in his distress Kyn still managed to make a joke. <Finally... after all this bloody time, a green Kecleon...>

She remained quiet for a long while, just focusing on her distance from the ground. <It's okay...get it out now Kyn...This old scarf is used to having tears coat it through.>

Kyn couldn't hold it back anymore, as much as he tried to, but he was with Serena now, and practically alone. The warm salty liquid fell from his face and into the scarf as he buried his face into it. Small sobs managed to worm their way out as well.

Serena didn't say anything, not anymore; she was just there, warm and comforting, both in his mind and around him. She actually hadn't been that bad after she stopped requiring sexual favors from everyone who asked her a favor; she hummed a soft song deep in her throat.

Kyn laid there for a while, still in that state, until finally he stopped. His mind shifted around with new scenarios that he'd have to work around, and finally came to a solution that satisfied him.

She let him remain there for as long as he needed, and her avatar, which despite it all, was still in the Bagon state, raised an eyeridge at him. <Found something you like, have you?>

<Well... she has Kecleon children... so that probably means she had a Kecleon mate. Or just plain had a mate. I do hope that she did have somebody with her when it happened. If not then it will still make parting worse since I know I can't be there. But, I was also thinking about how I might... be able to start a multi-generational thing...>

She left the thought open ended, as she said, she didn't know when it had happened either, exactly, so she couldn't answer his questions. <Perhaps you can...you're already scaling multi-generational with my family.>

<Do they all run the shop... or is it just one? I have more than just a few questions...> His thoughts were racing off the topic of Anana directly, and focusing on her children, which of course, made things a lot easier.

<The two brothers run the shop...the sister is a bit of a wildcard. She hated her mother, last I checked, and didn't want anything to do with her legacy.>

<These Pokémon must be separated by time and space. I met two Kecleon brothers HERE.>

That nearly made her wing buckle. <WHAT?> She turned her head and snorted at him.

<Is... there a problem, Serena...?> He figured that it wouldn't really mean much so he didn't think much of the fact that he had.

<Oh bloody fuckin' hell...I'm going down to the cave, hang on.> She dove down at a sharp angle, folding her wings tight and snapping them open just before she would have hit the water; grabbing the rock face with a growl. /JASMINE! GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE, I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME./ She clawed her way towards the top. <An outing my ass, I'm going to kill her for deceiving me...>

<Hold on a minute Serena. These can't be the same Kecleon...>

<BET ME.> She growled and sent him two pictures. <There's Normal...and then as she had them change to to hide because where they were going, the bright pink was IMPOSSIBLE. Ugh, I was blind.>

<Serena! I thought we've been over this... Most of the time green is the color of all Kecleon here. The purple was one is rare, but very plausible. How would you even be able to determine a connection between the four?> Kyn was trying his hardest not to have Jasmine get verbally/mentally chewed out by Serena.

<Because you can't lie when you're talking in thoughts!> She had turned her head back to Kyn, looking at him with a rather stern set of eyes. <Stop defending her, she's annoying, devious, and a pest that gets under my scales any time she visits me.>

<Alright... I guess I'll just have to wait and see.> Kyn gave a big sigh and waited for whether or not Jasmine would actually appear there.

Serena seemed intent on the water, and soon enough her efforts were rewarded, as the green little sprite yawned and hovered in front of her nose.

"Someone's angry, cursing my name from here to next Sunday, literally if I didn't show up...what's the problem NOW Serena? It's two weeks before you discover that I..." The look told her that she wasn't two weeks early. "Oh, well, see...um." She tried to back out.

"Taking them for a trip, Jasmine? You didn't tell me the trip included going back in time, jumping time streams to the point where they would meet Kyn." She growled again.

Kyn listened intently, still wondering how this exchange would even be possible.

Back and forth they went with the different excuses and accusations, until it finally ended. "Okay, fine, I'll go back and fix it, and you'll know about it, and this discussion will have never happened and he'll be pissed at you for not telling him that as well, if that's what you want, at least this way you are pissed at me and not at one another." Jasmine crossed her arms. "You were supposed to be in Isshu four minutes ago!"

"Oh. Jasmine. There's something I forgot to ask when I last met you. How many... Celebi have you seen here?" Kyn tried to interrupt another possible argument.

His tactic worked, but he still had to deal with Serena grumbling in the back of his head, "Oh, not counting the multiple times I've run into myself, about 5 others."

"One last question! Do you both realize what will happen if I don't meet those two Kecleon early?"

"No, not really." Serena was the one who answered. "She never said she was going to go back and change that anyway."

"Well then... perhaps I should tell you the butterfly effect that leads to here. My whole surprise with your world Serena came from the fact that it reminded me of things from those two. If I wasn't as curious, I would have just left. If I hadn't been curious, I wouldn't have been able to connect these two Earths. So and so forth. What exactly are you yelling at Jasmine to fix? That is what I want to understand."

"Not to have lied to me." Came the reply. "I detest being lied to."

"Well that's simple enough. But that means she's gonna run into herself again. Though I suppose that's not really a big issue at all for a Celebi. Ha, I can picture it too, actually." Kyn chuckled.

"Whatever...You're dismissed jasmine." She snorted, taking off and ignoring the Celebi now. "Are you in a good enough condition to continue along with the original plans now?"

"For the most part yes. I will meet you in Isshu in a few days. The location you'll be walking through to is.... called Opelucid City. (Black version) If it hasn't frozen over yet. If it has... then we'll go to the Liberty Garden."

Serena kind of balked. "Few days? What exactly am I supposed to do for a few days on my own? Better yet, what are you going to be doing for a few days?" her head turned, and for a bit it looked like she would crash headfirst into the ground, with no sign of pulling up to land properly.

"I will be observing the damage to my second home region. You will be there instantly, it will take me a few hours to get there. Does that make sense?" Kyn wondered what Serena was doing after he saw that she was doing a different flying maneuver.

Her wings snapped open at an angle to catch the wind and her tail skimmed the water, and finally she beat her wings down to stop their fall, she lowered herself forward and let her hind feet sink into the ground hard, but she set the rest of herself down light as a feather. She bowed herself low, letting him off. Of course, doing so hurt, but she didn't really care, straining her wing just meant that she wouldn't be able to do that again. "If you say so." she said as she nibbled on her wing. <So long as I have your promise as to that's what you're really doing, then that's fine.> She snorted.

<What else would I do, Serena?> Kyn asked. His mind had been off Anana for a bit, and his original reason for going to Isshu was not that hard to remember.

<Alright then.> She dropped the topic where it lay. <Just making sure you weren't going to leave me unattended in a strange city where I don't know anyone, nor will I know how to get back home.> all of that was true, just in different connotations.

Kyn released Miru, and explained the situation to him, and then everything was set underway. The test was done to see if that area of Isshu was frozen or not.

"Oh... hm... well then... The tower is almost frozen, but it's still able to be reached. You'd just be very cold."

Serena didn't exactly like the sound of it, personally, and it showed on her face. "Can I light a fire or something up there?, or if it gets too bad...you mentioned Liberty Garden? Show me on the map...just in case."

"You sure can! In fact, no one would blame you if you did. So, last chance. What I really wanted to show you is that tower, but if necessary, I can wait until things thaw out." Kyn suggested.

"If this is foul play, as you suspect it is, then that would be quite a while, I don't think that that would be wise...at least, if it does get bad, I'll have seen things and...if there's something amiss since you've last been there, you can compare. Now then. The map display if you don't mind?"

"Alright. Liberty Garden is... down below here. Well below the apparent spread of the ice. Once I get there, I'll meet you at the two day mark, and sooner if I have news to report." Kyn said.

She examined the map for the landmarks. "What a strange setup for a region, ah well..." She licked Kyn, then nudged Miru, and took her last breath of warm air as she stepped through the rift, careful to make sure that no one could see her. She hadn't asked if Heji would prefer to come with her, or if he was going with his trainer, she figured that it would be the latter, however.
