#1 of Chronicles of Phaeselis (Anthro)

Adventures in the World of Phaeselis. This is for the Anthroside. I don't know if I can put this up on my wiki, though. Picture of Reptile Cynrik Copyright © 2013 by Patrick Reichel, all rights reserved. The cover art is a gift by Patrick Reichel to the Phaeselis Wiki. As in, he allows me to use it. The Lizard man in this picture is of the same species but has reddish gold scales instead of green scales.

A World of Phaeselis tale, set somewhere apart from Phaeselis. I have the right to write a fantasy story based on my world. :) More pokemon and world of Goku-Earth forthcoming. Based on Alexander the Great's exploits, this fantasy world is based in a Hellenic (Greek) empire that is just as big as Alexander the Great's Empire at it's height. The Lizardmen of the World of Lemurias look like the species of Reptile from Reptile Cynrik.

A human traveler traveled through the ancient city of Zadracarta. Fifty years before, the genius Alexander conquered all of this in pursuit of the Archemeniad or Ariyan Empire. The Ariyans fell to their knees when they were conquered. However, after Alexander died, his empire split into several factions, including the Principality of Phaeselis, the City of the Blessed. At least to him, at any rate.

The human moved through the city with grace and ease. Like Parmenio, Alexander's general, he was swift and concise in his movements. Being a youth, though, he often traveled outside with only his chlamys, as daring as that would be. But moving through the streets the man was here only a few days on business. He completed his business and he decided to spend the last of his time milling about, looking for anything of interest. The human was a thin man, being a youth. He looked to be only nineteen years of age. He had blue eyes, and he had golden blonde hair. He kept his hair long, as was common among beautiful youths.

He traveled through the city's marketplace, buying food for his trip. He was leaving for Phaeselis, his home town. "I hope the vegetables are to your liking, sir. Good onions," said a seller. He was a plump man who was taken to wearing Ariyan robes and a turban. He was quite exuberant.

"Sorry, I'm more interested in taking some olive oil," he said, smiling.

"Suit yourself," the onion seller said. "Good onions, you know."

"Yeah, but i already bought some dried, preserved meat, some onions, olives, and carrots," said the human. "I'm looking for something more substantial before I return to the Phoenix river."

"Oh, you're from Alexandria on the Phoenix," the onion seller said, turning guarded.

The human smiled, "Call me Alexander, after the great military genius. Or just call me Alexander. What is your name?"

"I don't want to give my name to anyone, you might wear it out," he said. "Sorry, but your coin isn't welcome here. Go."

Alexander, the human youth that was introduced, flexed his shoulders, "Was it something I said?"

"Shoo! Shoo!" said the seller, pushing Alex away.

"Geeze, I knew people from Phaeselis had a reputation, but nothing this big," he said, rather disappointed. Everytime he mentioned that he was from Phaeselis, he had to hurry to make his purchases, and often they were much more expensive than how they sold to regular customers. Still trying to buy the last of his supplies, some olive oil for cooking and for lighting, it took a while for him to get five skins of olive oil.

"The next time I'm going to end up in town, I'll have to work for my supplies, they are cleaning me out of drakma," Alex said as he wiped the sweat from his brow. "Geeze, and I still need a bodyguard, but I can't hire anyone at this rate."

"Fresh slaves for sale!"

"What?" Alex breathed as he turned to the source of the voice. Sure enough, there it was. A slave auction. Something told him he had to find a slave to buy to work with his bodyguard troubles. Alex moved towards the slave auction. The auctioneer was a fat balding man who had strength. Several people were up on the podium, mostly human of course. But some were of the other races. Including lizards and a few lycans. The lycan growled when the slavers turned him around and showed off his assets. The lizardman, whose skin was a reddish gold, was forced to pull his loincloth aside and to reveal his organ, holding it out. Both the lycan and the lizard man were in chains.

"Fresh slaves for sale! All of these are fine specimens for your use!" the slave auctioneer said. Alex looked at all the slaves for sale. The lycan growled at him, his body was human, mostly. However it was covered in gray fur, and his hands had tough serated claws, and his head was that of a wolf with lupine ears and ferocious canine teeth. The growl was low at Alex. The auctioneer displayed the lizard man, who was powerful enough.

"Hmm," said Alex.

"You there!"

Alex looked around, and found that he was the only one standing around. His head darted from side to side and finally pointed to himself.

"Yes you, young man, do you need a slave?"

Alex shrugged. "Maybe," he said.

"Well, this one is strong and mighty and is a good buy if you are looking for someone to do heavy lifting for you!" said the auctioneer. "And he also comes fully equipped with a nine incher and a virgin hole if you need him to be your eromenos!"

"What?" asked Alex. The lizardman displayed his organ. By the way he's telling it, the auctioneer made it sound like he had a nine-inch organ. But Alex guessed right that it was shorter than nine inches. It was only seven according to his estimates. "I don't know, really. I just need a bodyguard on my way back to Phaeselis."

"You're from Phaeselis?" asked the Auctioneer. "From Alexandria on the Phoenix?"

"Why, yes I am."

The Auctioneer grew visibly nervous. Alex shook his head, those kind of reactions were something he had to deal with. He didn't understand clearly what was going on. He was being a good boy. Alex reached out and felt, fear from the auctioneer. Fear that he would become a slave. Alex giggled, he'd never use his telepathy that way.

"Please, I'll give you an honest price for whatever slave you want, just don't . . . "

"Don't what?"

"Please, just don't do anything to me!"

"Why is it? Is it something I said?" Alex asked as he put his hand to his hair.

"Just please!" cried the auctioneer.

"Man, what is your problem? I just create things. Oh, sometimes I make things move without touching them, and I can sense emotions and project my thoughts, but I just create things seemingly out of thin air."

"PLEASE!"

"Okay, okay, okay, how much for the lizard man?" Alex asked.

"I'll let you have him for fifty drakma!"

"I've got, 30 drakma actually," said Alex matter of factly.

"Okay, twenty!"

"Boy, your loopy," said Alex. "How about the Lycan?"

"You can have them both for thirty!"

Alex turned around, "Is he charging a little less, or is it just me? I'll pay for the lizard man." Alex paid the twenty drakma for the lizardman, and soon the Auctioneer put a collar around the lizard man and handed the keys to the lizard man's chains to Alex.

The Auctioneer sniveled in fear, "Now, please, just get out of here before you make business rough for me."

Alex was soon walking away from the stand saying, "Why is it that everyone here fears me?"

"Could it be that your a psion?" asked the lizard man in Koine Hellenic. Alex turned to his new slave. "Probably. Wait a minute, how come you speak Koine Hellenic? I thought that the Anthrosayroi spoke their own, little understood language."

"I learned it after I was captured," said the lizard man.

Alex proceeded to unchain his new slave. "How did you learn it? I thought someone would touch you in teaching you Koine Hellenic."

"No one touched me," said the lizard man. "My name is Loktai of the Anthrosayrian Kingdom. I was once a warrior of cunning and artifice amongst my people. At least until I was captured in war by you warmbloods."

"Not very fair for you to judge us all as one people," said Alex. "I am from Alexandria on the Phoenix, or Phaeselis. The Hellenes are a warlike people, that's true. But for us, we only go to battle to protect our homes and our families in our fair Principality. You can call me Alex."

"You're named after the Horned one?"

"Horned one?"

"Alexander."

"Yes, I am."

"What a cunning and intelligent warrior," Loktai said with pride. "What genius, what cunning! In only ten years, he managed to conquer all of the Archemeniad empire and even part of our lands! He is only called the horned one because in this part of the world, he is said to have horns growing from his head. To us, as you can see, it's a point of pride."

The chains finally fall from Loktai's wrists, and Loktai looked at Alexander with admiration. At least, that is what Alex got in waves from the lizardman. Waves of satisfaction and pride, and admiration for him. Over a name? Alexander took the chains and put them into his pack. "Well, it's three days to the next town," said Alexander. "We are headed west."

"You should be blessed to have such a name, sir," said Loktai without guile or hatred. "You've been named after a man who is regarded as a man of great wisdom among my people. Even though he conquered a part of our land. I spent my life studying his tactics and his history. You can't be a capable warrior without an understanding of military history. Aside from Cyrus of the Ariyans, he led an army at a young age and conquered most of the land. He is often regarded as having a big heart, a just and noble bearing, and being fair among my people."

"So you've studied?"

"I'm a professional warrior, sir."

"Can you be my bodyguard until I make it home?"

"It will be an honor to guard your life, sir. Although friends can't be bought."

Alex just nodded at that. He needed to use the rest of his drakma to purchase a donkey to carry his possessions again. The donkey he had was part of the sale in his business. He made his way to the donkey salesman for an ass as a beast of burden. Loktai followed behind, admiring his new owner. So far, he had the traits of his hero, Alexander. He was dealing with him fairly and -- he blushed a little. He felt brilliance from the youth who bought him. Could it be possible that he was just as smart?
