OMG It's finally here, after so long. (Well Serena's waited even long but still.) This was a long time coming, I know. I hope you all continue to enjoy the story!

It had been a long time, too long a time in Serena's opinion, as she smelled the scent the wind carried, the night had grown cold, but she knew that scent...it was so vague, at least until she saw the body that accompanied it, balm to her aching wounds. Heji.. The name had been lodged in her mind ever since the boys had left her here. She hadn't felt them for a while, but the sight of the lion, -her- lion, made her heart skip a beat, until she reeled herself back in. This had happened before, in dreams, in illusions, she couldn't quite be sure if this was another trick...but she hoped it wasn't. Golden head, she stood with her eyes locked on the figure in the distance, waiting to see if it was truth, or another lie that came to try to tame her. The wings at her side trembled, and then the moon betrayed her form. Over a carcass, the dragoness raised her head, and from between the two of them, there was a moment's time.

"Serena...?" The black mane shook, yellow and red eyes focused on her green ones. "You've grown again...Ah, I missed it this time...Do you remember me?"

"Could I forget you, is a better question." She gave a little smile, the question of if this was real or not lost with the fact that he knew something of their past, something that not even a psychic could pry from behind the locked doors of her mind. "Heji...of course I remember you, I would be a fool not to." Emerald eyes closed, she turned to walk into the cavern that made up her lair. "So you're back, then...? Where are the others?"

"Just me, they're waiting on the other side...if you would like to come back to see them."

"And if I don't...? Then will you leave again?" She lit the fire in the fireplace, face turned back to watch him.

"I can't leave my family, my pack, Serena...you can't honestly expect me to--"

"No, of course not, you don't belong in this world, not if it means leaving them behind, but I do, I grew up here..." She sighed. "And still...I will...but not yet. I want some time with you...and I have a few things to gather before I am ready to leave here...If it's to be for good, anyway."

"What about the humans...? You don't exactly tolerate them all that well..."

"I....can deal with a few humans, if it means that we'll be together again..."

"...You know, I've heard about Luxray that are gold and black..."

"Yes, there were a couple gold Shinx in the village when you first came here, you might recall... but... Honestly, I prefer the blue and black, and one in particular." She answered, moving to lie down on her nest of straw, and Heji moved to lie with her, only to be rolled to lay atop her in what might have been an awkward looking hug.

"So Serena...have you taken the time to learn any knew moves...?"

"Well, yes...I've learned Draco Meteor, or at least I can do an impression of it, at this point it still looks like a whole bunch of Dragon Pulses scattered around...."

"Draco Meteor? That's the name of the move that Drayden taught the Reshiram you met." He spoke with fascination, having witnessed this move in it's full glory.

"Who...?" Serena blinked, confused.

"The Dragon-type gym leader of Isshu...Serena, are you really okay with this? I mean, I'm willing to stay with you until I'm old and grey, but you will out live me...and then you'll be in a world that makes you uncomfortable."

"Over time...perhaps I could get used to it, Kyn's world--your world...Perhaps it wouldn't be that bad...and yes...I'll outlive you all, even Kyn...Salamence can live for thousands of years...I wonder if at that point I'll be keeping the White One company, or if he will seal himself away after Kyn has passed..."

Heji licked her cheek. "Then come to the Dragon's Den...it's a place where you would not be disturbed by most humans--only those at least with a good brain are allowed in there. Even so, you'd essentially have the cave to yourself, there are only a few young dragons that live in the water, they all leave when they get their wings. They might even rename it after you, that region doesn't have Salamence that are native to it. I could see it now, the Serenamence Den. Oh, and you'd get to meet Clair, if you're interested."

"Let me guess...that region's Dragon-type gym leader...? Yes, I think I'd be interested in meeting her, and the feeling might be mutual, considering that my species isn't normally found there...I suppose I'd need a translator to be able to speak to her, it's so strange to think that most humans won't be able to understand me...especially after having been around Kyn. But...that translator can be developed later on. Before we head out of here...there is one place I'd like to take you--if you have no objections, that is."

"There is a possibility that in the future, Kyn might help to create a Pokemon translator--at least a basic one that can be expanded upon later." Heji said with a grin. "And no, no objections."

Serena shifted around, rolling back onto her belly and stabilizing herself so that he could climb up onto her back. "I suppose we could use physical cues too...like a simple, blink once for yes, twice for no system, though that leaves me without a way to ask questions myself..."

"Yes, that's too simple to work...When Kyn was learning, he wrote down some basic responses in a journal...So where are we going...?"

"Hmmm~ You'll see...I'll give you a hint though, do you happen to remember a 'mon named Missy?"

"No, I'm afraid I don't, Serena, I'm filling my thoughts with too many things to busy it."

"Well...I suppose I'll just tell you, then...Missy runs a Daycare in Tao...I'd like...to well, adopt an egg...now that I'm sure that we'll be together for a while. Is that alright...?"

"A new chapter of our lives...I don't see why not...what species shall it be?"

"Oh, I'm keeping that a secret~ We'll only go by type and color to decide. I think it should be an Electric type...you can pick the egg by the colors..."

"I think...That the shell should be colored with Blue....and Gold." Heji answered.
