Creation Myths

The road towards the Ancient Cave was long and tiring for Nanuua. The snowy plains of the North had disappeared and mountains had taken their place, telling the traveling companions that they were getting close to the Mountain City of Merdale, a city carved out by the very rock in which inhabited the landscapes.

"We must go to all four corners of the realm and announce the meeting, then we all four shall gather and go to the Cave of Eternal Memory," Halios said.

"The Cave of Eternal Memory?" Nanuua asked looking towards Halios a bit puzzled.

"That is the actual name of the cave, because the cave itself holds all the memories of this world since the First Dawn and till this day forward," Halios responded as then Nanuua's ears perked.

His attention was drawn to the wooden buildings that were scattered around the village that was famously known as Merdale, various tribes of the North resided in this small town, due to the fact the town lived in a big game area they were most famous for their hunting and trapping.

There were Drakeon, humanoid dragons and also Fey, Fey unlike fairies were tall as normal mortal beings or Cave Beings as they are famously known yet still had the wings and magic powers of fairies, Witches and Wizards also could be seen within this village living together in perfect harmony.

That was one thing that Nanuua loved about this world, there was no war, no blood spilt upon the ground, no conflict, and no Kings or Queens to worry about.

"You know, I'm glad the Four Spirits are supreme in this world, they are keeping the eternal balance of this place intact," Nanuua said placing a paw behind his head a slight blush overwhelming his muzzle.

"Thank you for your curtsy Nanuua," Halios said smiling slightly.

The Sky was clear and a slight breeze stirred the air a silvery cloud drifted over the nearby mountains that were now closer than ever before, that was most of the region of the East Kingdom was mountain ranges, and that was where the ancient Dragons resided. The clouds edges glow-ing with ruddy light cast from one of the three suns that was cradled between the mountain peaks.

"We are going to have to climb some of those mountains to find the House of Ariola, the White Owl," Halios responded.

"He is our deity that we Northern king worship," Nanuua said his ears perking his tail began to wag with excitement that he was finally going to be able to meet the one who they worshiped and prayed to.

"Yes, Madam Ariola is as I've said once one of the four deities, me of course being the second, all four of us are related in a strange way, for we are the forgers of this world if you remember the story of how Pangaea was created," He said.

"Yes, I remember," Nanuua responded, he remembered the Shaman woman of his village, his Grandmother whom had taught him all the magic and skills that he knew today, he remembered when she even told him the story of the creation of the world, and she told it so beautifully, she almost sang out the words like how a bard would an ancient tale.

"My dear Grandchild, it is time that I've told you about the creation of our realm," The old female wolf said grunting slightly as she took a bag and shook it, inside the rattling of old bones could be heard.

Suddenly the pouch was opened and the bones spilled out and she sighed softly.

"Yes, you have a journey to come child," The Elder had said picking the small bones and rearranging them.

"The bones tell me that a great journey that may or may not save our world from a great danger from the Nightmares that reside in the Black Mountains," She spoke.

"What do you mean?" The young Nanuua asked.

"But that is not why we are here, I am to tell you how our world was created, and when I do so, you'll realize your quest," She said.

"A long time ago, before the sun was born, this world was shrouded in darkness, a timeless shadow that lingered across the realm causing no life to prosper expect those whom thrive on darkness, trolls, goblins, Nightmares, demons and other creatures of the night,"

"It was the time when the four Spirits of our world had come to these lands and combine their ancient powers to awaken the Burning Eye in which looks upon us till this every day," She said motioning to the skies.

She then began to draw images within the gray smoke that floated into the air, one was a symbol of earth, the other a symbol of fire, the third a symbol of air, and then the symbol of ice.

"They were named Halios, Ariola, Venice, and Talos," She said looking at Nanuua taking a deep breath her gray eyes looking at his own.

"When the four great Spirits found this dark world, they decided to bring light into it, causing the Nightmare King to retreat into the last bit of land where Darkness roams, the Black Mountains of Eldor, that was when Pangaea was discovered my dear child,"

"Halios forged the Kingdom of Fire where the Beings of Flame and Ash reside and also rules the Western region, he contains the spirit of a Fire Wolf with the horns of an elk, and then there is Ariola, the Goddess of our own religion, a giant Snow Owl whom protects the Lupine and other occupancy of the icy regions of the North,"

"Then there is Venice, Spirit of the East, one of the mighty Dragon Lords that rules the Eastern Skies, then there is Talos the ruler of Southern Kingdom, he takes the shape of a stallion with its mane made from water,"

"The Four Gods came into this world bringing life and light, and to protect this light four stones were forged to forever guard it, but the Gods knew that they could not stay forever onto the world and that they would have to return to their own realm unless the world is in great peril would they come again, so they grew the Tree of Eternity, a beautiful tree in which hovers in the sky,"

She took a deep breath and then a puff of smoke bellowed out from the fire and the smoke formed the large tree with its branches stretching outward towards the sky, the branches were filled with cherry blossoms as the wing gently tugged at its frail branches.

"The Tree of Life is Pangaea's life source, if the tree were to die, so would our world," She said calmly.

"If something were to happen to the Tree of Life, this world will undergo a series of dangerous changes, we'll all be destroyed, and only be left as a memory in this world for the next generation," She said.

"What do we do wise one?" Nanuua asked after a long period of silence, thousands of questions popped into his head.

"The only way to prevent such devastation or at least to avoid it is to bring the Four Ancient Stones that the Spirits contain, only one person can hold them outside of the Spirits themselves, and it's this one creature that can place them into the ancient shrine before the Giant comes towards our world from the Astral realm above where the stars reside...,"
