Who doesn't love dragons? In my world the gold and silver dragons are the most respected and both of them love knowledge and learning, but each has a different approach. Gold dragons build magnificent buildings and libraries to house incredible amounts of books, while silver dragons are story tellers. Silver dragons are more nomadic and live fairly simple lives compared to the far more extravagant gold dragons. They fly out around the world telling tales by campfires and in city squares to whoever will listen to them. They stay with whoever has room for them and accept whatever gifts are given, but they do not charge for their story telling. Both gold and silver dragons are rather at odds with each other over these different approaches.

Stories In Silver and Gold

Kings of silver, kings of gold

weave your stories and tales behold.

Spin your fables and fantasies mold.

-

Find those who have not yet heard these tales told.

Vast libraries filled with with wisdom hidden

but only to those who come with no ambition.

No secrets kept except to learn and grow.

From dragons of old with countless tales to show.

-

Books extend like the seas from

scales that shine as gold.

But silver are the ones who fly

and will not be controlled.

-

Gold protects the libraries great

that hold volumes without measure.

Silver are the ones who weave tales

that grow greater with each endeavor.

-

One written upon great tomes

and the other kept upon the heart.

One guarded by great sentinels of bronze

and the other from which silver will never part.

-

Hidden away by gold they are

while silver speaks it far.

Guarded jealously from prying eyes,

while the other flies wherever people are.

-

Keep it hidden. Keep it safe.

So say the kings of gold.

Spread it far with no such filter

so say the queens of silver.

-

One keeps knowledge bound and safe

and the other tells the world.

One builds houses of marble for books

while the other spins tales on pedestals of wood.

-

Gold stays in place to guard their treasure,

while silver carries it upon the heart.

-

But one thing for certain is written and sure.

The knowledge of dragons is untainted and pure.
