Short story about friendship which can prevail to more

Dean was glad to no end even though it had been a long day at school with lessons he didn't enjoy so much as his favorites. In all the lessons he had he was grouped up with Ken and some others. They were both huskies where the difference was the color; Dean was dark brown and Ken was golden. Dean tried his best to make efforts in all the groups to impress Ken and get acknowledged by him which succeed. Dean was not known to be a leader but he sure had the energy to make the atmosphere in the group enjoyable. In return the groups he was in came up with extraordinary good results to contribute in the end of the lessons. He was good friends with Ken beforehand and he fell in love with him few weeks after the school started. They were both new pupils to the high school and had the same age and same birthday. In Dean's happiness he couldn't resist to swing his tail slowly side to side as he talked with his ring of classmates even though Ken was talking with other classmates who weren't in the ring. All waited for their buses to arrive and pick them up and for Dean and Ken their bus would arrive at the same time but the approximate waiting time was 20 minutes. Few minutes after they had free and after they started talking about the day Dean couldn't help himself but to peek over his shoulder to catch a sight of Ken. There he noticed that Ken also swung his tail from side to side and that made him even happier. In one of the peeks Dean found himself looking directly into Ken's eyes when Ken finally noticed Dean's doing. Dean was stunned and so was Ken. They looked at each other for many seconds and Dean could feel the blood come to his cheeks. He slowly slightly opened his mouth as if he was about to say something to Ken and he unknowingly laid his ears to down of excitement but then he saw Ken made a faint smile. Dean quickly shot his mouth and held his breath. He felt his heartbeat quicken. He could fly. In the few seconds he felt the world in a complete new way, a way he never experienced before, a way that made him feel that nothing could bring him down. The buses arrived. Ken broke the connection and looked at the buss and took his school bag on his back. Dean took some deep breaths and tried to focus his next steps. After saying farewell to some of his friends he began to walk towards the crowd who waited for entering the bus where he exactly saw a bit of the golden fur of Ken on the other waiting crowd. He had a wish of seeing Ken again before the returned to their home and he sat on one of the front seats on purpose to make it easier to spot Ken if it was possible.

Their buses began to drive and Dean searched with all his heart after some golden fur in other bus. He didn't saw Ken but there was another chance when the buses would get past each other at the crossroad. Every part of Dean's body hoped to see Ken again and some sort of scanned the other coming bus for any sign of Ken. And there he was. Ken knew that Dean would do that and he had readied himself to raise his hand as a sign for Dean. Dean felt his heart skip a beat and he raised his hand in time so Ken could see it. They both smiled at each other and they both decided to give each other a present when their common birthday would occur in seven days.
