I'm in a real fantasy mood right now, and I'm fine with this. :P

Travis is a regular kid, with a scientist father, though when Travis wakes up in a surgeon's room, he knows something is wrong.

I hope you all enjoy, I would love to hear what you all think! ^_^

White; that was the color that Travis saw as he awoke, he blinked a few times in confusion as he looked around his surroundings. He had awoke in the middle of what appeared to be a hospital operation room, but there didn't appear to be any form of doctors or their surgical tools nearby. Standing up, Travis realized in embarrassment that he was only in a pair of shorts.

Thankfully Travis felt comfortable with himself so he wasn't too self-conscious about his chest, he glanced around once more but only saw reflective surfaces that he assumed were one way mirrors. "Hello?" He called out, his eyes searching for any sign of movement from behind the surfaces; but they were all impossible to see through.

Travis walked up to one, knocking on the glass. "Why am I here?" He called out, surprised at how calm his voice sounded when he wanted to scream and shout. When there was no answer, Travis sighed and scratched his head, his brown hair hanging in front of his eyes. He brushed the hair away, looking back to see if somehow the room had changed. It hadn't; Travis frowned and walked back to the table he awoken on and took a seat.

Trying to recall what had happened the day before, Travis buried his head in his hands. He remembered leaving from his house to grab a jug of milk... Everything else was blurry, well except for one thing... "That black car." Travis hissed, remembering the car sparked his memory.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking towards the market, Travis Wolt walked past some of the local lemonade stands when he realized that a black car was slowly tailing him. It put the teenager on edge, realizing that he was in danger of being stalked by someone, Travis walked a bit further before breaking off from the sidewalk and jumped over a hedge nearby. There were sounds of car doors opening and shouting; Travis felt pleased with himself for getting away from the strange people.
Travis ran through the strangely empty streets of his neighborhood searching for some person to help him, but there were none, everyone was strangely absent. Deciding that his home would be the best place to hide, Travis slinked down below the gaze of the people. He was tempted to look over the hedge, but he was too afraid of being caught by them. It took him thirty minutes; but after a few close calls of him stepping on particularly crunchy sticks and kicking over a basketball, Travis made it home.
Having slipped into his house, Travis silently gloated before getting serious, "Dad?" He called out, his father was a pretty important scientist at a local lab. Beyond his father being a scientist, Travis didn't know much about his father's work, not even the name. He glanced around in confusion, his father should've been home by then, "Dad?!" He called out once more, the teenager's voice escalating in panic. His father's things were home, his scientist's coat on the coatrack and his keys were on the kitchen counter.
Then from inside the living room, there was the familiar disappointed tut of his father. Something about the sound that usually brought embarrassment carried a dark foreboding feeling though instead, "Son, you really shouldn't have run. You've made my job much harder."
Walking into the living room, Travis' eyes widened in terror as he saw his father sitting in his luxurious chair, the truly scary thing in the room though was who his father was surrounded by. Damien Wolt was surrounded by reptilian creatures, they each appeared to be humanoid. Though they appeared reptilian, their scales and bodies were made of a black liquid looking material. Their eyes though burned red, black slits set in them that peered right into Travis. "Is this our new sibling father?" One of them hissed, his tongue looking like forked laffy taffy to Travis.
"Yes, this is my natural born son, but now that his mother is finally out of the picture I can indoctrinate him into the project. Please, be careful with him, we need him intact for the project." Travis stepped back, fear causing his heart to beat a tattoo against the inside of his chest.
"Dad, what is all this?! Who are they, what are they?! And... dad, what's with your eyes?" His heart was sinking, his father's eyes looked just like the reptile creatures. Cruel and reptilian, they burned with a red light that generated from within.
His father held up his hand, halting his son's words. His eyes set cruelly upon the boy's face, "Oh son, everything has gone according to my plans. But I won't explain it now." He turned his gaze behind Travis, "Sons, take him." Travis had no time to react, a cloth was set upon his mouth and nose and as he breathed in chloroform his world disappeared in a blur.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Travis' fingers clenched the bed tightly, his father had kidnapped him. He was silent, his eyes locked upon the white floor that had no texture to it. As his jaw set in an angry scowl, Travis turned his eyes towards the mirror once more. "Dad, I know you're there. Tell me what's happening here now!" His voice rose from an even voice to a shout quickly, he was already tired of this game that his dad was playing.

For a moment, there was no answer, Travis thought for a moment that he was talking to a wall. Then a portion of the white wall slid open to reveal his father, the man was dressed in his white lab coat. A self-satisfied smile sat upon the man's face, "I was waiting for you to remember before I came out, I think it would be very odd for me to have to explain my other sons once more to you."

Disgust filled Travis, the creatures weren't his father's sons, he was! "Why do you keep calling them your sons dad?!"

Damien smiled condescendingly, "Well Travis, these are indeed my sons." He smiled and rubbed one of the creatures on their head, the reptilian creature bending in to get more scratching. "You see Travis, a few years ago I was doing an experiment alone in these labs." He gestured around, and all Travis could see was the disgustingly white walls of the room. Walking around the room, Damien grinned as he stepped into his mind to regale the past. "The experiment was going all according to plan, you see I was making a sentient synthetic material that could be introduced into humans and it would act as a strong immune system."

Chuckling to himself, Damien seemed to be jumping ahead in his mind as he told the story. Travis warily watched the two reptile creatures whose eyes were locked on him, "The experiment worked well enough, I did indeed make a sentient synthetic, what I didn't know was that it wasn't regular. You see to give the synthetic regenerative processes, I took some lizard DNA and fused it into the material." He gestured to his arm revealing a livid scar, "I injected myself with the serum about eight years ago."

Travis gasped lightly, eight years ago had been when his mother and father had started to have a falling out. Damien chuckled, "I see you already figured it out, yes when I injected myself I became a new and different man." The man seemed full of an energy that his son had never seen, "When I injected myself, I became the king of the synthetics. I gained the ability to make those who I chose to become a part of my family." He gestured to the synthetic lizards, "These two were my first sons, they were my aides. They quickly became my sons, completely and utterly listening to my every whim."

The two reptiles smiled at their "father", their teeth a startling silver color in their black mouths. "We are proud to of become your sons, father." The larger of the two spoke, his tail wagging as if he were a dog.

Travis looked at his father with disgust, "Why don't you look like them if you're the king?"

His father smiled, "I'm glad you asked, you see unlike my children I don't let the synthetic control me. I am the controller, I am the central point of the synthetic, and it shall not take my appearance away unless I let it."

Backing away from his father, Travis felt questions bubbling within himself. "Why... why did you leave mom?"

Damien's eyes flashed dangerously for a moment, "Marissa found out my plan early on, she wanted to get away with you. So, to get her away, I infected her with a minute amount of synthetic and put her under my control without changing her. Then I made her slowly drift away from us until she wanted a divorce, I couldn't completely take her over, but I was able to influence her."

Disgusted, Travis looked away. "Well dad, you won't change me. If you try I'll just hit my head against a wall until I die!" He hated to say the words, but it was the only alternative to changing into one of those things.

But all his father did was laugh, loud laughter that rung in the small space. Damien wiped away a tear from his eye, "Oh Travis, I don't have to infect you. I infected you as soon as I brought you here, you're already changing."

Travis' whole body when cold, "What?" He whispered.

It was then that he realized, his mind wasn't as empty as he thought, raspy whispers came from the back of his head as if being beckoned. "Welcome brother... new sibling... synthetic slave..." Travis clutched his hands to his head.

Damien's grin never slid off of the man's face, "Finally, I will have my true son join my army. And together, we will be one happy family."

Travis saw on his arm black slime coming to the surface of his skin, it formed into a scale not unlike the one on the other reptiles. "No..." He whispered in terror, his dad though was laughing wholeheartedly.

It was like a chain reaction, the synthetic material crawled out from the pores of his skin and started to solidify into a new skin, even underneath Travis could feel his body underneath changing into the synthetic. "How did you get the synthetic into me?!" He screamed at his dad.

Damien held up one hand, it morphed momentarily into what looked to be a hypodermic needle full of the synthetic liquid. "I have gained new abilities as a synthetic son, as will you."

The teenager's body stretched taller, as if to reach a standard of excellence for his father, the voices became louder as he changed. Their voices whispering soft welcomes, words of love, and words of change. Travis struggled to keep his identity among the rising wave of voices, but even through all of the voices, his fathers' was the loudest in the wave.

The scales glimmered in the white light, looking both solid and flexible, they seemed to be a weak and perfect defense. Travis moaned, his face pushed out into a lizard's face, his nose disappearing leaving two slits for a rough approximation for the changing man. The voices continued to speak, but now Travis didn't resist as much, they were his brothers, his siblings. The voices accepted the new consciousness into their fold, Travis didn't matter, all that mattered was the collective of the Synth, the Synth Drag.

Travis's name faded from mind, his father knew who he was, there was no need for a silly thing like an individual name. He was a Synth Drag as the rest of his family was, a long flexible tail morphed out from behind the changing man looking like a very weak structure at first before solidifying into a strong muscular tail.

The new Drag's teeth morphed in, glowing silver against the shifting black of his body. He couldn't wait to impress his father with his commitment to the Synth, muscles packed onto the Drag's body. He would be strong, one of the strongest drag, his father had given him more serum so he would be the general.

Human eyes faded away for red eyes with the familiar black slits, a growl rolled in the new Drag's throat. He was complete, his muscled legs arched at their first stretch. On each of his feet, there were only two toes, but it didn't matter to the synth. He was perfect, especially as his father and the synth had molded him so.

The Synth Drag stood as tall as his kin, taller than his father, but he didn't mind. His father was king, and he would follow his king to the ends of the earth. He kneeled before the king, "Father, thank you! I am now part of the synth mind, and I am happy to join you in thought!"

Damien grinned, "Good General, now." He turned towards the exit, "Next up, the city."
