Another entry

Boredom.... As if it wasn't bad enough my scales make these summers months hotter, but now I am also dying from BOREDOM! Wouldn't that make an interesting entry in a Dragon Slayer's Guidebook: Dragons can be bored to death, just make sure they have nothing to do! To pass the time I have tried to organize my potions alphabetically... then again by color not five minutes later... and then two minutes later again alphabetically AND by color! Please Eris, save me from this hell!

Kurai has been away for some time, he told me he had to look for something in the mountains near our hatchery. I can't for the life of me think of what he could be looking for, but I hope he can find it. He seems to be distracted lately, ever since he told me some creature had grown the backbone to rummage around his den. I offered to help him find out what had done it but according to him it used magic to mask any trace it would have left, crafty for a common burglar.

According to him the only thing missing was some old gem encased in a glass sphere, he acquired it at some fair a couple decades ago. I had asked him about it only once before, he never knew what it was; just that it suited his "Dragon Fancy". If something thought it was worth stealing then it must be something important, right? Perhaps a friend of mine can help....

Humans have fascinated me for decades, one in particular, whom I am proud to call my friend is Ixontros. He is an old alchemist and researcher I met about thirty-five years ago when I was sight-seeing in Colgrad, a lonely and cold little province of Athelon. I had heard tale Athelon developed its own unique type of magic that involved the written word; naturally I had to see this magic for myself.

They call it "Scribing", the use of written and spoken words to alter and augment reality itself. While it was indeed impressive, it gave me a sick feeling along with a sensation I was not entirely sure of. It was at a Scribe College that I first met Ixontros; he insisted I stay with him during my visit so he could examine and get to know me. His home was quite large and accommodating, definitely not what I expected; who builds a house with a dragon visit in mind?

Well this feels like a waste of a trip, I flew for five hours just to find out Ixontros had gone traveling for a couple weeks. I left a note behind requesting information, along with a rough sketch of the object in question.
