#3 of Collection - One and the Same

Another story, this one is a bit less adult than the previous one. Not to worry though, part 2 will have the adult stuff in it :)

This story is about a Western Dragon named Dyyor (my 'fursona'), he has dark brown scales, green spotting and a red mane. His personality is easy going, adventurous but still relatively reserved, only having been intimate with one other creature. Also in the story is his lifelong friends, Kurai and Jadine. Kurai is another, smaller drake with black and white stripped scales. Jadine is Dyyor's mate, a wolf with black and white fur split down the center and orange and blue eyes.

In this story Dyyor is given a hunting lesson, much to Kurai's 'dismay'.

Life Isn't Fair

This story contains the following: Teasing, Minor Torture and Minor-Stomping. If you do not like some of these things then stop here.

Dyyor (Die-or) is a Drake-class, Western Dragon with dark-brown scales, dark-green spots and a red, Mohawk-like mane. Also in the story is Jadine, the black and white wolf who is Dyyor's mate, and Kurai, another drake Dyyor grew up with. The setting is a mild summer day outside of his cave where he is lounging in the warm sun.

A warm wind blew through the tree-tops, rustling the leaves and signaling the coming of summer. A squirrel was bounding a crossed the branches, in search for acorns to add to its collection. Stopping at the edge of a clearing, he spotted a walnut resting near a large rock. Against his better judgment, he leapt from the branch and sneakily hopped around from bush to bush, getting closer and closer to that succulent nut. The walnut was finally within reach and the squirrel took a chance out in the open to gingerly reach for it.

Just as his finger touched the hard shell of the nut a large paw swiftly swatted down onto him. The paw then rose up, the squirrels tail caught in-between its toes, stopping at the eye level of the creature it was attached to. It was a brown dragon with dazzling green eyes and a red mane, the squirrel was terrified at the sight of the larger animal. "Life isn't fair, is it?" Dyyor boomed, "You see, it feels like days since my last meal.... And you, well you had the misfortune to come out of hiding in search of a meal of your own. Now one of us will get what they want and the other... well, you know the rest."

Dyyor opened his maw wide and dangled the squirrel over his stuck out tongue, the poor creature was scrambling around trying to escape. Just as the predator was lowering the potential meal onto his tongue another voice broke the tension, "Didn't your Monah (Mother) ever teach you not to play with your food?" He turned to his addressor, mouth still hanging open, and saw it was an old friend of his, Kurai.

Kurai was a much smaller drake than Dyyor, about the size of his head, with black scales and white striping. His sleek body gave him an ideal advantage when it came to running from danger, but it also served another useful purpose. Dyyor and Kurai were hatchery mates, meaning they grew up together in the same cavern nursery, as such they knew each other very well. "Ah, Ahnok (Hello), Kurai. How are you this afternoon?"

"Ahnok to you as well, my friend. I am doing well, I see you are in the middle of a 'snack'." he gestured smugly to the squirrel that had just wriggled out of Dyyor's grasp and was bounding away with his walnut prize. Dyyor frowned at his escaping meal, his tongue still hanging out; "You made me lose my lunch." he stood up and began slinking toward Kurai. "Perhaps you could make up for it." he said with a hungry look in his eyes. Kurai sneered at him playfully, he knew how Dyyor thought, "If you aren't careful the other animals of the forest will rally against you, an army of squirrels would be too much for you."

"Oh, I tremble with fear!" Dyyor leapt at Kurai, grabbing him around his waist and tail. Kurai nipped his paw to make him let go and tried to run, but Dyyor was too fast and brought his jaws around his entire body. Kurai rested inside Dyyor's mouth, holding onto the bigger dragons' teeth, "You could have just gone hunting, you lazy lump!"

"Buth thith ish maor fuhn." Dyyor mouthed around him, rolling his tongue over Kurai's smooth scales, enjoying the sublime feeling of a full maw. Kurai squirmed around, trying to hold onto Dyyor's teeth and keep from sliding down the large, eager gullet. Secretly, he loved being prey, the feeling of a large tongue lapping over him, of the jaw muscles tightening and loosening. He knew the best ways to coerce a larger creature into wanting to eat him; he also knew the best way to make them change their mind.

While still holding onto the teeth, Kurai raised one of his hind legs and used his toes to tickle the roof of Dyyor's mouth. The larger predator couldn't help but twist and squirm in laughter, opening and closing his mouth just barely to inhale and exhale. He rolled over onto his back and flailed his legs and tail around, hardly being able to keep his mouth shut. Kurai continued tickling his would-be devourer, eventually using his tail to tickle under Dyyor's tongue, smugly listening to Dyyor's heart race and his lungs struggle to keep his breath.

"Let him go already, you big dope!" another voice chimed in. Kurai stopped tickling and let Dyyor relax as he looked over to the newcomer, his mouth bulging out. It was a wolf with a black and white coat, split down the center and a Yin-Yang symbol on her forehead. "Honestly, you need to stop acting like hatchling." Jadine scoffed with a playful smile, "You give real dragons a bad reputation."

Dyyor rolled over onto his stomach and begrudgingly opened his mouth to let Kurai slide out into a pool of saliva. The smaller reptile opened up his arms and wings to let the gooey substance slither off his scales, frowning impatiently. Dyyor grinned at him cheerfully, then stood up and walked over to his mate. "And to what do we owe this visit, come to mingle with the scalies?" he asked with a smirk, nuzzling her head.

"I missed you on the hunt this morning; you were supposed to join me this time." Jadine said with a scowl. "Oh! That was today?" he asked innocently, "Well; now I just feel awful!" He slinked around her playfully; she eyed him with an un-amused look, "You don't have to come with me, but I expect you to be able to gather food for yourself to some degree at least. You are a dragon after-all."

"Some catch you have there, wolfy, his idea of hunting is pretending to be a rock while using a walnut as bait." Kurai chimed in, walking over to Jadine on his hind legs and attempted to lean on her but she snapped her teeth at him, making him fall over. He quickly righted himself and settled with sitting on his haunches, "So, was I assuming too much when I thought you had hunted before?" Jadine inquired. They both looked at him expectantly, Kurai with a smirk, "Aheh?" Dyyor laughed nervously.

"Really, he is hopeless, I have only ever seen him catch a butterfly," Kurai explained, "and to be fair it was missing a wing." He sneered at Dyyor, whom had started pouting, "And who are you?" Jadine asked, looking at the unfamiliar drake. Kurai was taken aback slightly by such a question, "Dyyor hasn't mentioned me, I am hurt; we only grew up together." he playfully pouted at Dyyor, "The name is Kurai, nice to finally meet you, Jadine, he has told me quite a bit about you."

"Nice to meet you as well, he hasn't told me much about his upbringing, all I know is he was raised in an orphan hatchery." Dyyor fidgeted a little bit, his past was always a tricky subject, and it doesn't help when the first few years of one's life are a blank. He came to the hatchery when he was still very young, only 3 years after hatching; his parents had either abandoned him or were slain by humans. He had a happy enough upbringing though, most of the other hatchlings he grew up with had also lost their parents. Kurai was the one he had connected with the most, being two of the few drakes in the hatchery they bonded out of similarity.

"That is pretty much his past in a nutshell, we stuck together and kept to ourselves most of our stay in the hatchery." Kurai explained, fiddling with a blade of grass, "Some of the species we grew up with were natural enemies, so we were rarely allowed to learn basic hunting instincts." Dyyor got up and moved over to his previous spot and laid down, his back to Jadine. "So, you never learned how to hunt, huh." she inquired, he tensed and leaned his head back to look at her upside-down, "I could help you learn some things, like stalking, pouncing, and even some diversion tactics."

Kurai's ears perked up at 'pouncing', but he continued to fiddle with his blade of grass to give the look of disinterest. Dyyor rolled over and stood back up with excitement, "Really? You could teach me to hunt?"

"I don't see why not, it is the same basic idea for every predator." Jadine said with a prideful stance, "In fact, I think I have the perfect first lesson for you." She glanced over at Kurai with a sly grin; Dyyor got the hint and walked over to her. Kurai could feel their eyes on him; his size makes him very adept at knowing when he is being watched, all predators were the same. He began to turn his head, "No, no, Kurai, just stay right where you are, don't move." he froze in place, he knew it. "Let me guess, I am going to be his 'test subject'?"

"Well, you were already in his mouth before, so clearly he has some chance of catching you." Jadine got down low to the ground and instructed Dyyor to do the same, "Now, the key here is to stay silent, slowly creep towards your prey. Keep in mind the direction of the wind and your surroundings, if you feel the wind blowing in your face or onto your sides then you are in the right spot for a sneak attack." Dyyor slinked slowly toward Kurai, "That's it, try to not make a sound."

"You realize we are in a clearing, right?" Kurai chimed in, making Dyyor hesitate. "Yes, but that is beside the point, he can practice sneaking just fine here. Now, just sit there and be quiet." Kurai rolled his eyes and continued fiddling with the grass. Dyyor resumed his sneaking, being careful not to swing his tail too hard as he put one paw in front of the other. Once he was a few feet away, he licked his lips hungrily, "That's good, now, POUNCE!"

He leapt at Kurai with incredible speed, claws bared and his maw wide open. Kurai slightly turned his head and saw the larger dragons' teeth coming at him, for an instant his instincts took over and he leapt to the side in terror. In that moment his pursuer reacted subconsciously and banked around to keep after him, snapping his teeth loudly. "That's it! Keep after him, you are really close!" Jadine cheered.

Kurai was in heaven; the chase was his favorite part about being hunted, he bobbed and weaved, dodging around Dyyor. The larger dragon kept up with him though, slowly but surely gaining on his prey. As he neared capturing Kurai he opened his mouth once more and managed to catch him by the tail with a muffled -snap- , causing the smaller dragon to come to a halt. He looked behind himself to see the large muzzle clamped onto his tail; it didn't hurt, but he found himself getting strangely excited.

Dyyor raised his head up, dragging Kurai along until he just dangled in front of him. He turned and victoriously walked towards Jadine, "Mow wath hat?" he murmured around his catch, "Pretty good, it was a bit sloppy close to the end there. I think you will get better," she said while looking at him pointedly, "so long as you practice." He smiled curtly at her, "I fink I han manash hat."

"If you two are quite done using me as a chew toy, you can let me down now." Kurai spoke up, his arms crossed in annoyance. Dyyor stared at him for a few moments, glancing at Jadine as if he was asking permission. She just shrugged and started heading towards his cave, "It's up to you hun, you caught him fair and square after all." He sat on his haunches and pondered for a bit, waiting for her to disappear into the forest. Kurai looked at him and had a feeling of where this was headed. "You can't be serious."
