#3 of Armageddon [Abandoned, superseded by Acolytes of the Apocalypse]

A new Pokemon series I've decided to write, depicting a human named Richard, who finds a Sneasel that agrees to be his Pokemon. This is a story about their survival in a series of devastating natural disasters. Will they have the courage and strength to survive the incoming Armageddon? Only time will tell.

Hey there! This is a new series that I'll be writing, called "Armageddon"! It's a Pokémon story; some scenes in this story may be slightly disturbing to some readers. There will also be a few 'suggestive' scenes as well. However, those will be very few and far between. For a lot of reasons, this story is going to be focused on plot development for the most part. Also, keep in mind that I am not the most knowledgeable about Pokémon, so excuse any spelling errors or mistakes in the naming of certain places, items, etc.

Pokémon™ is intellectual property of Nintendo© and Game Freak, Inc. respectively.

Here is some information about the story format:

Armageddon: Chapter 1 - Planning For the Future

Several weeks had passed since Mia decided to join Richard on his travels. They both have been training very hard recently. Richard purchased a katana for self-defense. He practiced day in and day out, trying to master the deadly weapon using trees and various other small objects set atop of stone slabs as targets. However, he would always try and find time to train with Mia as well, having her attack any low level bug Pokémon that they ran into. Despite the type disadvantage, she was usually the victor of the battles, considering most wild bug Pokémon were inexperienced. They were traveling down Route 15, heading towards Fuchsia City. The dense forest behind them was starting to thin out as they continued walking down the path side-by-side towards the coastline.

"We should be able to get to Fuchsia City before nightfall. It should only be another couple of hours of walking before we reach the city limits." Richard spoke in a weary voice. "Man, I'm tired. I know what I'm doing when we get there." Richard then put both of his hands together and pressed them against the side of his head, and made mock snoring noises.

Mia glanced at him, smirked, and nodded in agreement. She looked tired as well; fighting multiple battles against bug types could really take it's toll on a dark and ice type like herself.

"Hey, stand still for a second. I wanna see how close you are to leveling up." He said as he pulled out his Pokedex from his backpack and slowed his walking to a stop.

Mia looked back at him and rolled her eyes. "Why is it so important that you know what level I am each day?" she asked, her irritation from being tired becoming apparent in her voice. She also stopped walking and stood in front of him, arms outstretched to her sides.

"Because, I want to make sure that you learn some new moves as soon as possible." He replied, his voice having a touch of sarcasm but also a touch of sincerity. "Now hold still."

Richard held up his Pokedex and pressed the 'Analyze' button. A thin red beam came from the device, passing over Mia several times before turning off, and making a beeping sound once the results were analyzed. Richard skimmed over the description and went straight to the stats that were being displayed on the screen. "Hmm, you seem to be very close to level eight." He said as he read the data. "That means I can get some new moves for you to learn once you level up again." He said with a small amount of excitement mixed into his voice.

"Like what?" she asked.

"Hm, well. Quick Attack would be a very worthwhile move to learn, its best you learn most of the basic moves before you evolve." He said to her as they continued walking down the road. "Speaking of which, I have to withdraw more Pokedollars from the bank and get you a Razor Claw."

Mia looked at him with a confused look on her face. "What's a 'Razor Claw'?"

Richard looked back at her and smiled. "A Razor Claw is an item that allows Pokémon who hold it to have a higher potential at striking with more lethal hits. It also has the unique ability of allowing a Sneasel like you, to evolve into a Weavile during the night time when held."

"Why is that so important? Why not let me evolve naturally?" she asked out of genuine curiosity.

"Well, it usually takes a while before a Sneasel naturally evolves into a Weavile, sometimes it can take up to several years without it. It speeds up the process and allows a Sneasel to evolve on its own volition, rather than waiting." Richard turned his head to look up at Fuchsia City, which was now coming into view, then tucked his Pokedex into his backpack.

"Aren't they extremely expensive though?" She said as she glanced away from him and looked towards the ground with uncertainty.

"If it makes you happy, then it's a worthwhile investment in my book." Richard replied, his warm and confident voice made Mia feel just a little better about how much the item would cost him.

Mia's look of uncertainty turned into a sly smile, she was a little bashful at the fact that Richard would give nearly all of his wealth, just so she could evolve. It made her happy that he confided so much trust in her in so little time. It was a little overwhelming to be honest. But she promised herself not to ever let him down, no matter how tough the situation. Little did she know that promise to herself would be tested in the years to come.

An hour later, Richard and Mia finally managed to step into the local Pokémon Center. They casually walked up to the desk, and Richard rang the bell. A Nurse Joy just like the one back in Cerulean City approached the counter with a smile on her face.

Mia appeared to be dumbfounded at the sight, and haphazardly blurted out "You again?!" before catching herself and slapping her claw against her forehead.

Nurse Joy looked at both of them in confusion.

"Oh, right. Sorry about that Nurse Joy. Mia here hasn't been to any other cities beside Cerulean City and seeing another Nurse Joy here caught her off guard." He said pointing over at Mia, who looked down at the ground and fiddled with her claws in embarrassment.

Nurse Joy could only laugh. "It's no problem dear! I get that all the time from new trainers!" She exclaimed while still laughing. "Wait, did your Pokémon just speak English?" Nurse Joy asked as her eyes went wide.

Richard could hardly keep a straight face at the look she was giving Mia. 'I'm going to have to go through this process in each new city I visit won't I?' he thought to himself as he chuckled. "Yeah, Mia can speak English, she told me her father taught her. Her father was the 'pet' of a deceased trainer, who actually was able teach him English. He was freed from his ball and sent back out into the wild after his trainer died. He then found a mate, and had her." Richard explained. "Her unique color scheme is also the result of a non-shiny and a shiny mating with each other." He added as an afterthought.

Mia was a little troubled by the mentioning of her parents, but Richard sensed this, and gently rubbed her shoulder a few times and she calmed down. Nurse Joy smiled and replied "What an interesting story!" she said, nearly loud enough for the other trainers in the center to overhear their conversation. "Now that we have that out of the way, what can I do for you two?" Her change of voice from casual to professional seemed almost instantaneous.

"I'd like to rent a room for the night. A room with two beds, preferably." Richard said as he took out his Pokedollar card from his wallet.

"Expecting a friend?" Nurse Joy asked with curiosity.

"No, actually." He then glanced and extended his index finger at Mia who was examining the lobby while his arms were crossed.

"She's pretty lucky to have a trainer that treats her so well." Nurse Joy said in admiration. "Not many people share the same amount of passion as we do for Pokémon." She then reached and took the card that was resting on the counter and swiped it through the card scanner. "You've been charged fifty Pokedollars for the room." She said in a quiet voice.

"Aren't rooms with two beds usually one-hundred?" he asked.

"Don't tell anyone." She said as she winked at Richard.

Richard took the hint. "Oh, thank you." He said with a toothy smile. He then walked over to Mia, who was apparently studying the 'soil' of a fake potted plant in one of the corners of the lobby and poked her on the shoulder. "I'm going to go take a shower." He said as he balled his hand into a fist, and then gestured with this thumb towards the rooms upstairs behind him. "Get something to eat in the cafeteria if you want, I'll meet you there in a little bit."

Mia nodded and headed towards the cafeteria.

Mia struggled a little with trying to grasp the door handle. But once she managed to successfully open the door; a feeling of triumph washed over her. She then continued to walk towards the 'Pokémon Buffet' sign that was hung over a large table with various containers, grabbed a bowl, and filled it with a few assorted berries and a couple of chicken eggs from two of the containers. She never had chicken eggs before, she only had Pidgey eggs in the past, but she figured they wouldn't taste much different. After Mia collected her food, she walked over to a vacant table and ate while she waited for Richard. For some reason, she felt like she was being watched. She cautiously took a few glances around the cafeteria, but didn't notice anyone looking at her. She caught a few flashes of green and blue out of the corner of her eyes. Then out of nowhere, a Bulbasaur took a seat right next to her, she jumped and recoiled away from it with surprise, holding one of her claws over her chest as if she were defending herself from an attack.

(Hey there...) The Bulbasaur said breathily.

(Er...Hey?) Mia replied. Her voice wavering with nervousness.

(I was busy eating some lunch over there, and I couldn't help but notice you walking in...) He began, trying his best to make his voice as deep as possible while pointing one of his extended vines over to his previous sitting position.

(...Sorry?) Mia replied with a heavy amount of confusion in her voice.

He chuckled. (No need to apologize. It's my pleasure to be sitting next to such a divine being like yourself.)

Mia flinched in shock, dumbfounded as ever, and also a bit suspicious. The Bulbasuar continued invading her personal space; getting uncomfortably close to her. Mia's reaction was to keep scooting away from him until she finally hit a wall the right side of the table was pushed against. (How long has it been... since you last mated?) The Bulbasaur whispered in a seductive tone.

Mia was little freaked out at this point, but she didn't think he would do her any harm. (I-I've never mated before.) She stammered. 'Why the hell does thi--'

Her train of thought was interrupted as she was tackled to the ground by the Bulbasaur. (A divine like yourself... a virgin?) He said out loud to himself. (This'll be fun.) He continued as he licked his lips.

Mia suddenly came to the realization of what he was trying to do, and let out a loud scream to try and get anyone to help her.

(God damn, you have quite the pair of lungs!) He said as he winced in pain a little from the scream. (Just wait until I'm inside of you, then you will REALLY have a reason to scream!) He said triumphantly as he used his vines to pin her legs and claws to the floor.

Other trainers only looked on in absolute shock and others with absolute disgust. The whole cafeteria was at a standstill, not knowing what they should do. Some tried to attempt to stop the Bulbasaur, but other trainers blocked them in, knowing that they shouldn't make the situation escalate further.

Richard was in the shower, whistling an old song he knew from his childhood, when he winced as he heard an ear piercing scream. 'Holy shit, a scream like that probably resonated throughout the entire Pokémon Center! Wait a minute... that sounded like...' Richard immediately hopped out of the shower, he slipped and face planted onto the floor. He cursed under his breath as he threw on his underwear and a bath robe. He snatched his katana that was resting on his bed, ran out of the room and slid down the railing of the stairs. He sprinted across the lobby at incredible speed, and barged into the cafeteria. He saw several onlookers all staring in shock, and disgust. He followed their gazes and his eyes widened at the scene before him. He immediately pulled out his katana and charged at the Bulbasaur pinning down Mia.

(You ready?) The Bulbasaur said, tauntingly.

Mia trashed around and struggled to escape the Bulbasaur's grasp. But it was no use. She then closed her eyes and cried out "RICHARD! HELP ME!"

(Three... Two... On--)

Mia closed her eyes, expecting a terrible pain to wash over her. But it never came. She heard a loud and sickening *CRACK!* of metal hitting bone. She slowly opened her eyes, and saw Richard standing by her; the Bulbasaur was struck by the blunt side of his katana, effectively knocking it unconscious. She could only lay there, traumatized and relieved at the same time as she stared up at Richard, who was staring at everyone in the cafeteria with rage in his eyes.

"WHAT. IN. THE. ACTUAL. Flying fuck, is going on here?!" Richard yelled with pure anger. The other trainers stared at him; others looked down at the floor in shame, afraid to even talk to him. "WELL?!" he yelled.

One of the trainers walked up to him and scratched behind his neck as he spoke. "Um... that... was my Bulbasaur." He admitted, feeling not only embarrassed, but ashamed of his first starter Pokémon that was now sprawled out on the floor unconscious.

Richard pointed the sharp end of his katana at the trainer; only a few inches separated the trainer from the blade. "You need to learn how to control your Pokémon!" He yelled furiously at the trainer, who was now also staring at the ground in shame.

"I-I'm sorry." The trainer mumbled, barely audible enough for Richard to hear.

"You better be." Richard said in a low and serious voice. The look on his face was one of anger, despair, fear, and hatred all mixed into one.

He looked over to Mia, the look in her eyes immediately made the look in his eyes soften. She looked absolutely traumatized; he could see her beginning to tear up. Just like the day he found her, curled up in a ball inside of that shallow cave. "Recall your Pokémon, and get out of my sight." He said to the trainer, not even taking his eyes off of Mia. The trainer did so without question, and hastily made his way out the door. He was going to have a long talk with his Bulbasaur once he regained consciousness. The onlookers stared at each other, some of them eating in total silence. The atmosphere inside the cafeteria was nothing short of tense.

"If I hadn't of gotten here sooner, she would've been raped! Do ANY of you understand that?!" Richard yelled as he turned back around to face the crowd. "I bet if Sneasels were Class A Pokémon, you would've rescued her in a heartbeat!" Richard said accusingly.

They were all still silent, a few nodding their heads solemnly. They all knew what Richard said couldn't be any closer to the truth. Richard could only look on at them with disgust. Although, he couldn't completely blame them either, how were they supposed to know a Sneasel was going to almost get raped by a Bulbasuar? Richard now realized that the C.R.S. was probably doing more harm than good. Sure, it gave high ranking Pokémon more power, but it also took away people's respect for the lower classes of Pokémon at the same time. This was not acceptable in the least.

With a sigh, Richard slowly sheathed his blade, then knelt beside Mia, picked her up and cradled her in his arms. She immediately wrapped both of her arms around his body and nuzzled her head into his chest, her eyes shut tightly, and her body shaking profusely with fear. Richard then walked out of the cafeteria with Mia in his arms.

Once they were back in his room, Richard gently set Mia down on one of the beds. He then sat next to her, and cautiously examined her arms and legs, making sure she wasn't seriously injured. A look of relief washed over his face once he realized the worst she got was a few bruises from being tackled.

"Are you okay?" Richard asked; his voice full of concern and worry. He looked heartbroken.

"Y...Yeah. I-I'm okay." Mia assured him.

Richard only stared at her in silence. Then spoke again, slowly. "Did... Did he hurt you?" he asked, his question carrying a lot of weight with it.

"No, he didn't." She replied with a serious look on her face. Mia could see a second massive wave of relief wash over him. The looks in his eyes were slightly less troubled, and he breathed a huge sigh. Mia looked into his eyes, and wore a coy smile. She then looked down at her claws, and fiddled with them in embarrassment. "I guess we should get to learn those moves as soon as possible, huh?" She asked with a grin.

Richard couldn't help but smile. "Yeah." He replied; his overall tone of voice was worn out from such a long day.

Mia stood up from her sitting position on the bed, and wrapped her trainer in a hug of appreciation. "Thank you for saving me..." She said in a quiet whisper. She gently closed her eyes and smiled warmly, a single tear ran down her cheek as Richard returned the hug.

"Anytime."

~XXXXX~

They held the hug for several minutes, before finally letting go. Mia reluctantly let go of her grasp as Richard pulled away to go brush his teeth before bed. Mia watched intently as he walked into the bathroom, and shut the door. She could hear the faint sound of running water on the other side. She took the time to reflect on what had happened. Never in her wildest dreams would she have imagined she'd find a trainer who would sacrifice so much for her. Mia couldn't help but feel a little guilty though; she had no way to repay him for doing so much for her. She let out a disappointed sigh. 'Damn C.R.S. ratings. If I could, I'd work to get some money and surprise him with a gift. But D class Pokémon can't work for money.' She looked down with a depressed look on her face. The faint sound of water stopped, and Richard walked back out into the bedroom, flicking the bathroom light switch as he walked out. She suddenly stared back up at him again. He gave her a warm smile as he walked to the neighboring bed and laid down, pulling the covers over him and turning off the bedroom lights with two quick claps of his hands.

A few moments of silence followed, Mia couldn't fall asleep. No matter how hard she tried. She took in a deep breath and let out a worried sigh. Richard glanced over to her; he couldn't sleep very well either. Despite it being two o' clock in the morning.

"Hey, Richard?" Mia asked his name in the darkness.

"Mhm?" He replied.

"Um, do you mind if I sleep with you?" She asked sheepishly.

Richard chuckled, and scooted over a little to the right, then patted the vacant spot in the bed with his hand. Mia hopped out of her bed and into his. She got comfortable and let out a quiet churr as she tightly hugged his left arm, while he pulled the blanket over her with his right. Mia quickly fell asleep afterwards, feeling the warmth of his body right beside her. Richard followed closely behind, who also dozed off and fell into a deep sleep only moments later.
