#2 of For the Future (Old Version)

...Everything went black...

Do you want to live? A strange yet familiar voice asked me.

Yes. I replied

So it shall be my friend.

I suddenly realized whose voice it was. But you're dead. I said

Remember that day in Mythos, the one where you saved me?

Yes, but it was years ago...

20 years before

I was five at the time. My friend Julius and I were walking to the park in the capitol of Mytheria. Julius was one of the rare breeds of Mytherian dragon. As we walked we heard a commotion. "Get out of my way!" A cloaked being yelled as he ran to us. Somehow an energy sword appeared in his hand as i jumped between him and Julius. I don't remember much after that.

Present Day

After you took that sword slash you passed out. when you got to the medical center you were fading fast. The doctor had an idea. Create a transfusion of Phoenix and Dragon blood to temporarily give you rapid regenerative abilities. Lets just say it worked.

So what does it have to do with me now?

Think about it. What would happen if the abilities were still there but dormant?

Then I might just survive to see another day!

I finally have a way to repay you for that day. But you will be very different than you used to be.

Thank you. My old Friend.

"We've got a live one here!" Consciousness slowly began to return to me. How long was I out? I thought as I was brought to an emergency medical tent. "Where am I?" I asked a flustered looking nurse. "Please don't try to move sir. You have been badly injured." The moment he said this the pain returned as the shock wore off. "How bad is it?" I asked sounding weak. "You are lucky to be alive. You have burns covering over ninety percent of your body, several broken bones and are missing a leg." He said. Ouch with those injuries I should not be awake. I should be dead. Suddenly the shock wears off causing me to blackout again.

"Doctor he's waking up!" said a nearby nurse. I opened my eyes and was immediately greeted by an overly bright operating room light. "Impossible we sedated him to prevent him from waking during surgery." The doctor replied. "How long was I out?" I asked in what little voice I could manage. "Three weeks." he replied. "You are the only survivor." Realization hit me like a freight train as only one word went through my mind Bartag. The doctor noticed my distraction and said "You and your wingman are heroes you know." "But at what cost is it to become a hero?" I asked. The doctor, finding that he could do nothing more said "Get some rest, you have a long day tomorrow."
