Destiny or dishonor

I thought it was time for a story about my fursona. I never got around to it though and I always seemed to have more pressing items to do, both on sf and in rl. But then I got inspired by Castayanna who was so kind to rp with me, while wearing a warrior outfit. Thank you, Cass and I hope you find this story to your liking. As always, enjoy everybody!

The warband was out on one of their boring patrols again, this time on the outermost perimeter of the camp, which was also the longest walk. Five of them could be seen, the sixth member of their group was scouting ahead and the seventh was parallel to them, trying to make his way through the bushes and growths, trying not to be seen or heard. And he was failing miserably.

"Ouch, damn it!" he yelped.

Lorr BlazeClaw , the one at the end of the group, spoke up. "What are you, BlazeSword, a Charr or a mouse?" Murr BlazeSword, brother of Lorr, stood up straight, jumped out of the bushes, onto the road and roared a challenge. His fur was stained with drops of blood, his own, and needles clung to his armor. "Why don't you try it, with all those bramble bushes out there!" pointing at Lorr.

"First, I don't need the practice, second, I would not yell out every time I got a little prick."

Murr chuckled. "Well, you do have a little prick!" Lorr started a roar, but was cut off by the leader. "Claw! Sword! He snapped their names, making it sound as insults without the warband's honorific. "Both of you shut up! I am trying to focus." He allowed such frivolity and playfulness in his warband, knowing it would relax them , so they would be more focused when it was needed. But Harrar Blazefang had noticed something peculiar. "What is it, boss?" Lorr pressed. "Shhhh!" came from Graf BlazeArrow, his second in command, a finger to his lips.

"I smell blood. It is fresh! From over..." His nose went up and his face slowly turned, then stopped to the left of him. "...there! The ravine." He slowly walked over, pushed some bushes aside, then saw a faint trail of blood. He heard his scout returning, Rasha BlazeBlade, one of the two females in his warband. She came to a stop next to him. "Nothing to report, boss! It's all clear up ahead."

"If I send you out to scout... " he straightened and looked her right in the eyes" then why did you miss something as important as this?" He pointed towards the blood. Her eyes looked at the blood, then widened, surprise mixed with failure on her face. She looked back at Harrar. "Sir, I have no excuse." Harrar put as much anger as he could in his words. "Remind me to find a suitable punishment for you, when we get back to camp." He sighed, the turned to face them all. "We are supposed to be the elite among the warbands, even though we are still in training. Now is the time to prove it! Gather you wits, your courage and strength and let's see where this trail leads us."

They slowly made their way across the ravine. The blood trail lead to one of the many caverns in the opposite side of the broad gorge. "Everybody wait here. Arrow has command. Sword, you come with me!" The need to be quick was the reason why he did not use the full honorific names. Insult was one thing, quick talk and orders, something else. They carefully made their way inside. "Wait, I see movement, there on the floor." Harrar said.

They moved closer. The blood trail was bigger now. They heard the sound of heavy breathing. In front of them, on the floor, laid a female Charr. But she was as unlike as any Charr he had ever seen. She was beautiful. Her white-silver fur, spotted with black, reminded Harrar of the feline, feral creatures from the north. Humans called them snow-leopards. Her large breasts were moving on her chest as she gasped for air with a lot of effort. She was big and softly curved, very muscular. If the Charr would still believe in gods, she would be the exact image of the goddess of creation, the source from which Charr would have been brought into this world, but never could become such a perfect image. Goddess or not, she was dying. She laid in a pool of her own blood. It came from a wound in her throat. She had bandaged it, but the bandage was already soaked with blood and it was trickling down over her neck, chest and on the floor. Her armor was dented, probably hit by a club or something, making it harder for her to breath. Her right leg was punctured, leaving several bleeding holes. "Get the others! Let Fist and Tooth stand guard outside." he ordered. BlazeSword turned and sped away. Harrar leaned in closer. "What happened to you? Can you speak? Don't worry, we will get you back to our camp, safely." She looked pale and had really lost a lot of blood, but she was hanging in there. He admired her strength and willpower. She pointed at her throat, then shook her head and croaked. Her vocal cords probably were damaged, meaning the wound would be deep and severe. Sword returned with the rest of the warband and they all stared and gasped. "Come on, let's get her out of here." Harrar said. "No, wait!" BlazeArrow's voice sounded angry. "I know this one."

"Okay, so what's her name?"

"Well I don't know that, but I know of her. She is Gladium, exiled, banished. By order of the highest Primus. I don't know what she did to deserve it." Gladium, the lowest of the low in Charr society. Not fit for even the lowest jobs, often ignored, shunted by their own kind. Why would this gorgeous female be treated as such, what could she have done?

They all started offering advice.

"Kill her!"

"Leave her!"

"Give her a knife and she can decide how she wants to end it..."

"Maybe we can eat her!"

Everybody turned their heads towards BlazeClaw, looking wide eyed. He shrugged. "I was just trying to be helpful..."

"I agree with killing her." Graf BlazeArrow said and pulled his sword, pointing it at her throat. The female seemed to accept her faith, her green eyes only widening in surprise for a second, then tilted her head, slowly exposing her throat for the strike to come.

"Hold!" Harrar commanded. What was he thinking? Could he really feel for this female? Was this what humans called mercy? Pity?

"Get that sword away. We did things like that in the old days. But not anymore. She should decide her own faith." He pulled a dagger from his leather belt, and laid it down next to the her. Suddenly, Mala Blazefist joined them, panting. "Sir, I left my post to scout the surroundings. I found the body of an ogre. He was still bleeding, but quite dead, slashed open with claw marks. Next to him laid his weapon, a spiked club. I also found little drops of blood, leading to the blood trail you found." Harrar took it all in. A single Charr defeating a full-grown ogre? It was not unheard of, but was still an extremely remarkable feat. She must have walked away from the fight, then slowly succumbed to her wounds. His respect for her grew. "Come on, let's go!" They left the cave, Harrar last. He looked over his shoulder one last time, then followed his warband out. When they walked back to the camp, Harrar ordered them not to speak about what had transpired. They answered him with a chorus of ayes.

Night fell and the warband broke up to do what ever the members wanted to do. Harrar took his satchel and filled it with herbs, rations and a water-skin. He left the camp, giving the appropriate passwords to the sentries and made his way back to the cave. He hoped he wasn't too late. She was still breathing, barely, the knife untouched. He hurried over towards her, then gently laid her on her back. She felt cold to his touch. He took the medicinal herbs and popped them in his mouth, chewed them, making a pulp. He spat it out and applied it to her wounds. Then he slowly, carefully, unbuckled her armor and pulled it of off her. The cloth underneath was barely enough to cover her intimate areas. Now for the hard part. He could try to use his fire magic to close the wound in her neck. But he only had practiced that kind of control once and was far from actually succeeding in it. So he did the next best thing. He gathered some wood and, with a single curse, set it ablaze. He laid the knife in it, then waited until the blade was red with heat. He unbuckled his belt and wrapped it around a wooden stick, then carefully placed it in her maw. She barely bit down on it. He then unwrapped the blood soaked bandage on her throat, and quickly pulled the knife from the fire and put the broad side to the wound. It burned his paw and cauterized the wound shut. The touch of the blade did make her bite down hard on the leather in her mouth. He lifted the blade and threw it to the side, ignoring the pain from the burn. She dropped the leather out of her maw and her body started convulsing in shock. He laid on top of her and held her down.

When her body stopped moving he applied some of the pulp to her throat and bandaged her up again. He added some wood to the fire, trying to keep her warm. This night would be crucial. If she came through the night she might have a chance. If not, she would be dead before dawn. "Fight, damn it! You are Charr. You will not give up. Fight it!" He watched over her that night. When he had fallen asleep and how he ended up laying against her, spooning her, keeping her warm, he did not know. When he woke, he did know that he was grinning like a little cub, feeling very happy.

Her pulse was a bit stronger. He got up and mixed the herbs with the water in the skin, then tilted her head and made her drink. He then carefully laid her back. "I will be back for you tonight. Duty calls and I have to do them, otherwise some one might get suspicious."He turned and left, going back to the camp. He was tired, but still did his duties, training with the warband, doing his chores. He was the leader of the elite, meaning he could refuse the night timed duties, without others questioning him. Hit ent on for weeks, during the day, he was fulfilling his destiny to become leader, at night taking care of the female Gladium. He brought her water or ale, medicine, meat, what ever he could smuggle out of the camp. She was slowly gaining in strength. One night she even tried to sit up and he helped her. "You know, I don't even know your name and since you cannot speak, how about I make one for you? How about.... Shalla?" She shook her head. "No, no of course not. Maybe.... Cass? Her eyes twinkled and she nodded. "Cass it is then. Well, it is time again, I must be off. I think you will be fine, won't you?" She nodded again. When Harrar returned the following night, he ran into the cave, to the spot where she had laid, all those days and nights. It was empty. He stopped dead in his tracks, surprised and startled. Then, he suddenly felt her paws around his waist. She then stepped around Harrar to face him, not letting him go. She looked up and kissed him. He kissed back, then his eyes widened with surprise and he pushed her away. "No please, if this is your gratitude, your way of saying thanks, I don't want it." Her eyes shot daggers at him, as she stepped towards him again, grabbed his head and kissed him again. He pushed her away before their lips touched. "No, please. I am destined to become leader of the legions. I can not be with you. You are Gladium and..." Then his feelings overcame his mind. Here was a female he respected, nursed and even fallen in love with, body and spirit. For him to reject her, would be the ultimate insult. He stammered a bit "I- I'm sorry, you must think I am..." She interrupted his speech by kissing him again. He kissed back. She wrapped her paws around his head and held him like that for a few moments.

She stepped back and cut the straps of her own cloth with her claw. She let them drop to the ground. As she stood there naked, he felt his member painfully pressed against his armor. He quickly unbuckled it, threw it aside, then removed his loincloth. She purred as she saw his member, then stepped towards him, kissed him and started pawing him off. He grabbed her shoulders and pushed her down, guiding her to lay down on the floor, he on top of her. He kept kissing her as much as he could, letting his paws wander all over her body. They stopped at her breasts and he admired their firmness, yet they were soft and delicate to the touch, He massaged them, and slowly pressed his sex down onto hers. She moaned and grabbed his buttocks, pushing him down harder, making sure his hard member was on her clit. He started thrusting against her, making her moan and gasp with each movement of his hips. She became so wet that without warning, his member slid off her clit and with the next thrust, he penetrated her deeply. They both closed their eyes together and gasped at the same time. She was moving her hips, trying to receive him as deep as possible. He thrusted slowly first, but when he found her rhythm, they quickened it together. Her tight cunny suddenly became even tighter. The roar that left her injured throat came out as a weak gasp. She climaxed and her insides grasped and pulled at his member. He felt his member bulge against her flesh and he also came, roaring for the both of them, dousing her heat with his semen. Her cunny kept pulsating and with each twitch, he sprayed a little bit more into her.

They kissed and he fell on top of her, his energy completely spent. She turned and Harrar noticed Cass was sobbing a little, crying. What an un-Charr-like thing to do. And yet he also felt a tear coming to his own eye. He held her, his chest pressed against her back and they fell in a deep sleep together.

He woke as his arm explored the area in front of him. He could not feel her. He opened his eyes, then sat up straight. She was really gone. Her armor, the rations he had gotten her, all gone. He sighed. If only she could have stayed a bit longer. Maybe they could have worked something out. He got up and dressed. When he stepped out of the cavern, his warband was waiting for him there.

"What are you doing here?"

"He is a bit thick, isn't he?" Vatlaaw BlazeTooth asked.

"And he's supposed to be the leader of an elite warband?" Rasha BlazeBlade answered.

"Maybe I should just take over?" Graf BlazeArrow stated.

"Give it up, boss, we know what you have been doing these past days." Lorr BlazeClaw said.

"You knew? And you let me? Why? So you could expose my dishonor? So you could indeed get rid of me? I will let you know, I don't have any regrets and if you challenge me, I will..."

Murr BlazeSword interrupted him. "Geez, boss, relax. We won't do anything like that. We are your warband, remember? We got your back, no matter what. And you have ours. We would never betray you!" They all fell down on one knee and bowed towards Harrar. "Warriors, rise!"he commanded and they did so. He went over to each of them and clasped them in a long, tight embrace. When he finished his round, he stood in the middle and roared. They immediately joined him with roars of their own. He grinned, then turned to his second in command. "Arrow, is the warband ready?"

"Yes, Harrar BlazeFang. They are!"

"Let's move out then, on to adventures, on to battles." he called out "And know that the Blaze Warband cannot be defeated! For we are comrades, friends, family and we always have each others backs." A chorus of "Here, Here." followed. As they moved out of the ravine, Harrar looked back over his shoulder, towards the cavern, then in front of him, to the horizon. "Be well, beautiful Cass. I will always remember you."he whispered. He got slapped hard on the back by Graf BlazeArrow. "Come on, or should we start calling you BlazeDreamer from now on?" They chuckled and the warband set out, going back to the camp.
