#24 of Discontinued

A new story I originally wanted to put out much sooner but could never find the drive. Well after a discussion with some friends after watching the new movie Riddick we all clicked and decided to get this thing rolling a bit. I know some other stories deserve attention and I'm just starting to get back into the groove of story creating. So expect some new chapters!

'We have some celebrities here boys and girls' the voice over the intercom would echo as the shipped rocked back and forth through the pull of the gravity from the nearby sun. Those within the ship would all be seated and none to happy as they shook back and forth within their restraints, shackles around the wrists and ankles that were locked firmly onto the arm rests and floor, thick fabric straps would be tightly hooked across their chests in an x fashion to keep them from being thrown about too much. The intercom noise would be that of papers being shuffled through as what apparently was the captain began rattling off names and information about people that were apparently seated among those restrained to their seats.

"Let us see here...oh! We have...Michael K Straight otherwise called 'Straight' he is the infamous escaped convict who was one of the top Rebel enforcers and the very man that assassinated the great General Ivonok's oldest son...not bad considering he was only seventeen..."

As the man rattled off the information a man with short cut hair would slowly open his eyes, the hues within his eyes would be pure white showing no sign of an iris yet he turned his head up toward the right side of the hauls walls, glancing toward the intercom. "Old enough to try and put a knife in my chest..." would come his deep voice, the words laced with venom and hate as the shuffling of papers could be heard again as other voices could be heard about a short arrival time.

"Hmm, ah now we have Leon B Knight, other was called Leon Blood or the Blood Wolf, a Syndicate Dog who I know has some friends on this ride..."

Long unkempt white hair would mark this man who was now labeled as a convict as everyone else, his piercing blue eyes stared defiantly into the open air as the turbulence began to rock the convicts back and forth with even more force. It was clear he was favored by several dark glares with nothing but looks to kill.

"Oh lookie here! We also have Warhead! The titan terror who is wanted in several systems for war crimes against all manner of species! Now how the hell did they get ahold of you big guy?" his voice filled with sarcasm but it was clearly met with a low growl as a beast of a man lifted his head, clearly marked by the several scars that marked his face, the most prominent being a slash down over the left side of his face to his jaw line.

The man over the intercom continued to rattle this and that about people who were apparently 'famous' in the underworld but no one seemed to eager for an autograph from anyone. Yet as the haul continued to rattle and shake back and forth a general anxiety seemed to grow amongst those in chains.

Outside the large space fairing vessel would suddenly come into view of this large planet that seemed to be completely white yet as the vessel neared it would become clear that it was not a natural creation but some kind of orb like station that was the size of a planet. Upon a closer inspection the 'planet' would actually be reflector tiles that appeared to pull in the light from the nearby sun that was clearly far too close to the planet to be habitable for the species within the vessel yet as the drew ever closer the large transport vessel would slow to a stop at what appeared to be a large docking structure that was far too small for such a large ship to dock at. Yet with systems beeping and people manning their stations the ship would slowly rotate and land its under belly against the docking station before pulling back after a few moments leaving a large rectangular section from the belly of the ship in the docking station against the large dome like structure.

The vessel would then float off toward one of the orbital stations as the rectangle section of the ship was locked into place against this section of the dome as bulk heads hissed and the entire section of the dome rotated around slowly causing the section of the ship to disappear into the interior of the dome. The convicts would now be upside down their restraints, some looking around confused with fear in their eyes while others began to curse and damn those around them, others remained silent. As the dome locked itself back into place with the convicts hung upside down locks would suddenly release and the convicts were suddenly dropped into a free fall, it was an understatement to claim that some of the convicts began to panic; some downright cried in fear as everyone felt the sudden release into free fall toward an unknown location.

Yet while others panicked there were others that remained calm, held their composure with eyes shifting about to see those around them, eye contact made and held for a few moments before shifting about to others as if some kind of hidden message was being passed on one by one.

Outside of the free falling cube however, down upon the planet's surface that seemed to be destination of the convicts there would seem to be nothing but hardened scorched rock to break their fall but that would not be all as several pairs of eyes stared toward the sky; watching as the large holding cube tumbled through the open air. It would be suddenly but thrusters from the bottom left edge of the cube would suddenly burst to life causing the cube to spin as parachutes were deployed and more thrusters joined in from the bottom of the cube to slow the decent. It was far from a soft landing however. Jerking back and forth many convicts grunted out in displeasure while others had passed out form the panic, several foaming at the mouth from too much panic.

Those that were still conscious and not still in frenzy would begin to look around as if waiting for something else to happen, it wouldn't be long before something did. Hissing bulk heads would echo out as latches from the corners of the cells would be released and the pressure within the cube would be equalized with the exterior. The hot air would be far from comforting as dust and dirt quickly flew into the cube as it began to unfold like a piece of paper. The walls would fold out with the roof of the cabin being pulled toward the back leaving all the convicts seated and open to the harsh light of the sun that was far more than blinding. The heat itself was enough to kill a person in less than an hour without shade, the dust that filled the lungs of many had them hacking and coughing within moments; as all this was going on those few prisoners who held their composure this long had quickly began to work at their restraints.

The white eyed man was being stared at by several convicts already as he stood up from his seat rubbing his wrists, having already slipped from his restraints and now stood as the first one free form the entire group. The white haired man who held the name Leon rotated his right hand and suddenly presented a small metallic object that he slipped into the key hold of his restraints and in only a few moments of twisting this way and that his hands were free; his legs were just as easy to free. The large man with a Mohawk who responded to the name Warhead slowly tilted his head back as he clearly exerted force, his wrists being dug into by the restraints but those around him stared in awe as they watched the very metal begin to snap and bend. It was not lock before the chains connecting his wrists were broken apart, removing the straps about his chest he bent himself over and with both hands made easy work of the chains about his ankles as well.

Other convicts had found their own ways out, from hidden lock picks from dislocating their joints; some were not so clever and began to demand and beg those free to help them out of their restraints. Yet none seemed to comply as they began to look around, it appeared that they were far from relaxed as narrowed eyes and open ears scanned the area around them through the demands and begging of the others around them. It was far from over as quick movement would be seen before disappearing around them just over the rises of the rocks and dust.
