First Time's The Charm

This is an adult story which uses homoerotic furry imagery and scenes and should not be viewed by anybody who is a minor in their area of is offended by homosexuality.

Jack stared down at the gym floor. This was where he would always come during the lunch break at school to think about something or work off some steam. Today, he was doing both...

Earlier, he and some friends had been having a discussion about homosexuality which had flared into a mini-debate. Unfortunately it was three-on-one. Doug, Brian and Matt had all gone to the side which was against homosexuality, they talked about how being gay was disgusting and didn't make any sense. Jack had tried to enlighten their feeble minds, speaking of how gay people are exactly the same as everybody else.

"You may think that, but do you actually know any gay people?" He shouted, pointing a paw at Brian.

"Yeah..." Brian replied quickly, "You!" They boys laughed out loud and high-fived each other.

"Oh, just shut up!" was all Jack could think of to say, at that, he quickly turned and walked away.

He bounced the orange ball on the floor a couple of times, eying his target wildly. He jumped; his strong husky legs propelled him into the air as he shot the ball from half court. It swished perfectly through the basket. He let a brief smile slip onto his face from the excellent shot he had just pulled off, but it quickly faded when thoughts of earlier entered his mind again.

Jack was gay, he had known for a while now, but he had yet to be in a relationship with another male. After all, it's difficult being a gay adolescent these days, because everything is "Oh, that's so gay." Or "Jeez, stop being so gay!" Being gay was clearly a very negative thing in the student body's mind.

Jack jumped and turned quickly as he heard claps coming from behind him. He relaxed once he saw that it was just Sadie, a short vixen. Jack was confused at why she had walked in clapping. He raised an eyebrow at her as he sat down and grabbed a drink. "You always play better when you think you're on your own... what's bothering you?" She asked. Jack was taken aback by the sudden question, was it really that obvious that he was annoyed, frustrated... confused.

"I'm cool, why?" He replied nonchalantly getting to his feet.

"Well... You were here when you had fought with Mr Smith, when your gerbil died, when you lost that $100 your mom had given you to pay for the school trip, this is where you go to work stuff off. Do you really think I don't know you at all?" Jack grinned at Sadie's comment, she was right, she should be, seeing as they had been friends for the last five years. He turned away and thought for a second, taking time to shoot at the basket once more. He missed. "Look, I saw your little spat back there with your friends, about the homosexuality issue, you wanna talk about something?" Sadie did know Jack too well. She knew that when he sighed she was making progress, when he ruffled his fingers through the long tufts of hair on his head he was frustrated, and a combination of the two meant he was ready to talk. Again, she was right. He walked over, sat down and placed his head in his paws.

"This is really hard for me to say, but you're probably expecting it anyway so I'm just going to come right out and say it." He paused, took a deep breath and spoke. "I'm gay." He readied himself for rejection, he figured any second now Sadie would act disgusted and run out of that door. She didn't. He looked up; he had terror in his eyes, along with a few tears. Sadie just chuckled.

"What are you so worried about? I'm fine with who you are, to be honest, I'm just happy that you trusted me enough to tell me." She smiled and wiped his eyes.

"Really?" Jack's face lit up as the thought of acceptance for who he was entered his mind.

"Of course Jack! Look, I don't care whether you're gay, straight, bi or whatever; the only thing I care about is that you're happy!" Jack sniffed and wiped his eyes.

"Oh God! Thank you so much Sadie! I'm so glad I can trust you!" He grabbed and hugged her tight as the bell rang. "I have the afternoon off because of lower grades having exams or something, but I'll catch up with you later ok?" He waved as he jogged towards the door smiling. Before Sadie could call after him though, he was gone.

Jack ran back to his house which was empty, his mom wouldn't be back until next month from her business trip. Having a parent who was away for such lengthy periods of time has its ups and downs. On the upside, he could do whatever he wanted; he often had friends around and walked around naked. (Because that feels awesome!)

The downside was that he had to fend for himself; he had to shop for himself, get himself up in the morning, and ensure that the house remained intact. He dropped his bag by the door and padded up the stairs to his room. He slung himself onto his bed and thought about everything that had just happened. Even though it was only one person he had come out to, he still felt as though a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

He closed his eyes and let his mind wander, he didn't see much really... He just felt as though he was falling...

DING DING DING DING DING!

DING DING DING DING DING!

The text message alert on Jack's phone went off. He jolted up and grabbed it from the desk; it was from Sadie. He read:

Hey Jack, it's OK if this is too soon, but I have a friend, Kieran, who always tells me that he likes the look of you, and that he wishes you were gay. Now I know you are, do you want me to tell him? Potential first date, I sent a picture of him to your e-mail account. : )

Sadie. X

Jack just paused. This morning he had been sure that nothing in particular was going to happen today, now he could be getting into his first gay relationship, something he had been longing for a while now. He wasn't sure how to reply, so first he figured he might as well take a look at the boy Sadie planned to set him up with. He padded over to his laptop and opened it up. He waited in anticipation while it loaded up. He sat like a young child excited in the airport as he quickly typed in his email address and password. He found the email from Sadie and opened up the attachment. His eyes widened in wonderment as he laid them on the insanely sexy otter staring back at him. Kieran was standing by a pool in the picture. He had his hands in his swimming trunks' pockets and was leaning against a large parasol. He had one eyebrow raised and was looking directly at the camera. Jack's eyes wandered down to the otter's perfect body. He was toned, but not insanely muscled. Jack's eye wandered down further; there was a pretty apparent bulge in Kieran's trunks. "Wow," Jack thought to himself. "Nice!"

He leaned back in his computer chair for a moment and thought. He had seen Kieran around school; he didn't know him at the time and never really took much interest. Thoughts raced through his mind, what if people found out about their relationship? Where would they go on their first date? Would Kieran want Jack to be open to everyone about their relationship?

He finally decided that he would go for it. He grabbed his phone off the side and scrolled down to Sadie's number.

"Hey Sade, um... about your text earlier?"

"Yeah..."

"Where is Kieran at the moment?"

"He lives a couple of doors down from me, he has the rest of the day off like us, you want his number?"

"No! Er... no. You wanna grab him and come over? Mum's on a business trip so the place is empty."

"Sure! Be over in 5 minutes. See ya then!" *Click*

Jack's heart was beating fast. He was excited about this, but worried as well. He was glad that Sadie could be there to... moderate, as it were, stopping him from saying anything he'd regret.

Jack put three glasses down on the table in the living room and put some big bottles of Dr Pepper and Coca-Cola next to them. Then came a knock at the door. Jack jumped and straightened himself out before calmly opening the door.

"Hey guys!" He said cheerily. "Come in!" He was hiding his fear well.

"Thanks." Sadie and Kieran replied. They followed Jack into the living room and took a seat on the big sofa.

"So, Jack, this is Kieran." Kieran offered his hand and Jack shook it.

"Nice to meet you." Jack said, smiling.

"You too." Kieran smiled wider.

After a while of chatting and playing X-Box 360 whilst drinking Dr Pepper and Coca-Cola and making jokes, Sadie's phone rang.

"Hello?...I'm at a friends'...What? Now?...Well, um... fine I'll be right there." She angrily pressed the hang-up button on her phone. "I'm sorry guys, I've got to go, mom needs me..." Jack's heart skipped a beat. They had been there for about thirty minutes, but Jack still needed Sadie to ease the awkwardness.

"Well, ok... bye..." Before he had a chance to ask her to stay, she was gone, out of the door. "So...um..."

Jack was at a loss for words. "Do you want some more Dr Pepper?"

"Sure, thanks." He smiled and handed Jack his glass. As Jack screwed the lid off the Dr Pepper, his text alert went off.

Jack, can you still come to rehearsals tonight?

Ian.

"Oh crap, I completely forgot about rehearsals! What time is it?" Jack asked Kieran.

"It's nearly four o'clock. What are these rehearsals for?" Kieran was interested.

"Oh that's alright, it's not for another few hours. It's for a show in the The Shubert Theatre in September."

"Wow! That's so cool! Are you a singer? Actor?"

"Both actually, but they're also trying to make me dance!" Jack and Kieran laughed. "Do you do any arts?" Jack asked. This was finally a chance to get rid of the awkward silence.

"I'm a dancer actually, I just haven't had a chance to do anything for a while." Kieran took a sip of his Dr Pepper.

"Really? Well, do you want to come with me? They're still looking for people." Jack sounded really excited.

"Plus if you're hungry there's a Burger King next door to where we rehearse so we can grab a bite to eat before we go in."

"Actually, yeah, I'm starved. Well... alright, I'll come and audition." Kieran gave in.

Jack got overexcited and quickly jumped up and hugged Kieran, who was a little shocked, but quickly returned the embrace.

Jack sat down in the plastic chair opposite Kieran with his burger and fries. "Ian's so going to yell at me for eating this before dancing, I already dance badly enough as it is, let alone while I'm bloated." He commented, eying his burger. Kieran laughed.

"So what's the show anyway?" Kieran asked.

"It's a production of Rent, I think they're still a couple of lead roles open actually if you wanna try and go for

dancing, singing and acting. That's what I'm doing."

"Oh! Awesome! I love Rent! Who are you playing?" Kieran was enthralled about the fact they would be performing the play he always dreamt of being in, it had just never come around these parts.

"Tom Collins." Jack answered. "It's a good part for me because he does quite a lot of singing, and that's my strongest point."

"Wow! I can't wait to see you in action!" Kieran grinned a massive grin.

"It's touring around the New England area. It's starting here in Boston they pick up their company where they go, but the main cast travel with them." Jack took the last bite of his burger.

"Wow! That must be awesome!" Kieran seemed to be getting more excited by the minute.

***

"Well?" Jack had been waiting nervously outside the audition room for around five minutes. He didn't have a clue how Kieran had done, the room was sound-proofed and where he was dancing was around a corner.

"I didn't get the part of a dancer..." Kieran looked down at the ground, he looked very upset.

"Oh..." Jack hadn't prepared for this possibility. He put a hand on Kieran's shoulder. "I'm sorry to hear th..." Kieran cut him off.

"Nope... I got the part of Angel!" He was faking his sadness. He let his true emotions come out, he raised his head and jumped up and down. Jack soon joined him.

"Really!? That's awesome!" Jack was excited, now they were bound to tour New England together for at least the next year, and they would be spending a lot more time together, rehearsals being three times a week. Also, they played two characters which eventually fall for each other and develop a lasting relationship. They have a couple of songs together and a few scenes. Jack hoped that they could develop their own relationship whilst working on developing their stage one as well.

"Oh, yeah, Ian said everybody can come in now." Kieran remembered after seeing the furs standing behind them, expecting to have turned up to rehearsals as normal. They had all been held up for Kieran's audition and were getting pretty bored, despite the fact it was only a short wait. The furs walked in past Kieran and Jack. Jack greeted some of them on the way, and some congratulated Kieran for getting the part of Angel; they had all overheard, he was screaming it loudly enough. Just before Jack followed in Kieran grabbed his arm and pulled him back. "Thanks." He said, smiling warmly. Before Jack had a chance to answer, Kieran had leaned in and kissed him. Jack was surprised, but he quickly returned the kiss. It was a passionate kiss; Jack closed his eyes and let all of his senses take over. It was warm and wet and they could feel the love each shared for one another as they wrapped their paws around their bodies. The kiss finally broke, after what seemed like a happy lifetime. They smiled and looked deeply into each other's eyes. They shared one more hug, and then Jack finally broke the romantic moment.

"Come on." Jack said, as he gestured with his head towards the door. They walked in together with their bodies close.
