With the end of the Great War over three hundred and sixty seven years ago. Mother's family has been in hiding from outsiders due to fear of being used. By those seeking to use our power to enforce their selfish goals and dreams. My sister Aniu and I have done our best to keep our unique heritage a secret. Ever since I was actually old enough to dream, I've been having these strange visions.

Of a different place and time entirely, sadly I haven't told a single soul about these dreams. To be honest I don't think they'd know what to do let alone how to help me understand. So it's best that I keep my friends and family in the dark for now. At least until I know more about what these messages are trying to tell me. Granted I don't like leaving those I care about in the dark but, it might be their best interests.

Today's Thursday, September 6, 2368 the first day of high school for me and my friends. My closest friends are Raymond and Felicity, Finx and Razze for short. I grew up with Finx, naturally we treat each other like brother and sister a lot. Aniu liked to tease us and said we'd end up dating one another soon or later. That might have been true until Razze stopped Finx's very first boyfriend from raping her two years ago.

Ever since that day those two have been inseparable which I had, a feeling would happen. They're still somewhat mad at me because they lost a bet we made a few months back. Well, it's already 7 o'clock and my sister has yet to get her ass out of bed. Granted I should just leave for school without her and teach her a lesson. Sadly my parents are real sticklers for keeping us from fighting to heavily.

Considering the last time I left without her I had just started my new job as a mechanic. Seeing as no matter what I did she'd shrug me off and kept sleeping so I left. Unfortunately this routine hasn't changed even when we were little kids. I'm packing my things for school and as I look over at the clock it said 7:15am. Sure enough she wakes up, looks at her clock and flies into the bathroom.

Ten minutes later she walks by my room and proceeds to give me grief. "WAKE UP, YOU JACKASS! We're late for school." Aniu shouted rushing by my door. Keep in mind I've been up since six o'clock this morning waiting on her lazy ass. Of course I was quick to let her know the real score on the matter. "You know I'm not afraid of leaving your ass to fend for yourself." I pointed out.

"You don't have the brass balls and besides mom would have your ass." She snapped in return. We continued bickering as we came down stair and entered the kitchen. "Alright, that's enough both of you now get your tails to school you're late enough." Dad barked ending our spat. "OH, SHIT!" We both exclaimed rushing towards the garage. I gave dad a quick goodbye before Aniu slammed the door.

"Mind if I drive your car today?" She asked. I reminded her that she still owed me gas money from the last few times she drove. Naturally she wasn't too thrilled to be reminded of that as I unlocked the doors. "That's not fair when you let everyone else drive your car." She cried sitting down on the passenger seat. Of course I had plenty more ammo to use against her on the subject.

"Remember, what you did to my rear bumper and my driver side door the last time you drove. Besides the money you saved up to buy a car, you spent it on those outfits. That if mom ever found or caught you wearing she'd tan your furry ass." I said bluntly. She stood there on the passenger side of my car in total shock. With that I opened the garage door and fired up the powerful V10 engine.

"How did you find out about that?" She wondered as I shifted the transmission into reverse. I waited until I pulled onto the street and drove down the road before answering her. "One sunny afternoon a couple weeks ago I saw you trying to sneak out of the house with one on. I believe you were wearing that blue low cut top with pink roses on it and with tight denim shorts that barely came halfway down your thighs." I informed.

A rather quiet fifteen minute car ride later, we arrived at Nathernal High School. As I drove around to the student parking lot, Aniu informed me about the Vice headmaster. She's usually on the prowl for tardy students this was her favorite time of the day. Eagerly waiting to bust any students trying to slip into the school unnoticed. Lucky, for me Aniu knew of a back door should that ever happen in the future.

Despite the fact my car does stand out quite a bit despite being a true blood muscle car. After finding a decent parking place I cut the ignition and we exit my car. <I wonder if, Razze and Finx are attending here if not I'll be bored out of my mind.> I thought. "Hey, dumb ass get moving you've already missed a quarter of freshman orientation. You're really going to get bitched at if you don't report to the guidance office afterwards." Aniu pointed out.

"Yes, dear I didn't realize you were queen around campus." I remarked bowing politely. She couldn't help but, laugh at my antics as we entered the building. "Bye bro and good luck today." She said giving me a quick hug. "Thanks, I'm going to need it." I said a second later as she walked away from me. As she jogged up the stairs I walked down the corridor until a startling realization hit me.

<OH! Great, how in the hell do you find your way around? Damn it, I should've of asked, Aniu where the school guidance office was.> I silently cursed. So twenty minutes went by and I was completely lost until I passed by the right office. It's sorta funny I must have passed by this place several times. Before stopping to read the signs, hopefully I don't get red the riot act for being late.

When I reached out to open the door, it suddenly came flying open and hit me right in the nose. "Ow!, ****!" I mumbled moving away in shock. This cocky and rather rude hyena took one look at me. "Learn to pay attention buddy and shit like that won't happen." She stated bluntly. "Try looking through the window before opening the door." I shot back. She shot me this rather rude look as I recovered from the incident.

About five minutes went by as we stood there simply staring at each other. <Sheesh, what a rude, stuck up, broad you are, I wonder if your heat cycle is in overdrive. Nobody can be this bitchy especially first thing in the morning.> I thought. "Why, in the hell are you still in my way?" She snapped. Of course I was more than happy to give her a retort of my own to push her buttons.

"Me, I'm just admiring the view princess, you're not enjoying my company anymore?" I remarked with a smile. Sure enough that comment alone got her dander up in more ways than one. "Go, **** yourself *******!" She barked pushing me out of the way. As she turned the corner down the far end of the hall. I stood in the doorway with utter amazement and disbelief on my face.

From there I finally went inside the guidance office before anything else happened. As I approached the secretary's desk I just had to have something clarified. "Excuse, me could you answer something for me about the young woman that just left. Is it just me or she didn't get hug this morning or is she normally that grumpy?" I wondered. The secretary chuckled as she looked up from her work at me standing there.

"To be honest with you Celia's been like that since I met her, now how can I help you, handsome?" She pointed out. "Ah!, I'm, Iros Deltroon I was informed to report here to get my courses for the year." I replied. She perked right up the instructed me to have a seat while she called to see who was available. From there she picked up the phone and dialed a few numbers while I took a seat nearby.

Shortly after she hung up the phone she looked over at me sitting on a nearby bench. "Hey, hun Ms. Sierra will be right with you sweetie, once she's done with another student." She informed. So in the meantime I looked around the room seeing what was on the walls. I saw some brochures on a nearby display case on my left. Grabbing a couple I slowly skimmed through them to help pass the time.

About twenty five minutes passed before somebody new grabbed my attention. "Mr. Deltroon?, I'm Ms. Sierra your guidance counselor, please come with me when you're ready." She smiled as I looked up. Placing the brochure I was reading back then I got up and followed her. She glanced back at me then made the obvious connection. "Ah!, so your Aniu's little brother, well ain't this a small world." She stated.

While we were walking to her office, I couldn't help but, notice how pretty she was. <Okay, correct me if I'm wrong but, is the staff here are really hot or is this just dumb luck.> I thought. Before I even had time to react let alone how to respond to what happened next. <OH, trust me stud luck has nothing to do it.> Someone replied. As we entered Ms. Sierra's office I was still figuring out where the voice came from.

Granted I was caught off guard but, somehow I shouldn't be all that shocked. Considering the big smile she had on her face as we sat down in her office. "Alright, hun are there any classes in particular you want?" She asked. Naturally I told her which classes I was interested in taking and hoped were still available. "Ok, just give me a moment to look them up here on the computer." She replied typing on the keyboard.

"Ah, you're in luck each class has one slot left, so I'll put your name on those slots." She stated. My tail wagged happily behind me as she continued typing away on her keyboard. She asked me if there were any other courses that I was looking to take. I told not really and just assign me the traditional freshman courses. Once she printed out and handed it to me I thanked her kindly.

From there I got up then slowly made my way towards the door and said goodbye. <You're quite welcome, Iros. I hope your day goes well bye handsome.> She replied telepathically. Luckily, as I exited the guidance office I saw a school layout poster. Placed on the wall across the hall, so I walked over and gave it a good scan. The next stop on my to do list was to head down to my house office.

I needed a student ID card since it was mandatory for all students to have on their person. Unfortunately as I got there the same young woman I met earlier was standing around. Naturally the second I got closer she blinked real quick then her hackles went up. "Hey, dickhead are you following me or something?" She said frigidly. Of course I wasn't fazed by her rather pissy attitude so I shot back passively.

"Nope, just a really poor stalker cutie, I'm happy to take lessons if you'd like." I smirked. Sure enough her temper really flared up in response to my come back. Her hands clenched tight and as she went to hit me the house principal tapped her shoulder. She whirled right around and like a stiff breeze she settled right down. I stood there watching the two talk and I could tell the two had a weird relationship.

She shot me a death glare before walking away as the older gentleman looked over at me. "Well, what can I do for you young man?" He asked. So I told him my reasons for coming by the office. Unfortunately he told me the machine had broken down and nobody knew why. He suggested that I come by tomorrow and hopefully the machine would be repaired. As I left the bell for fourth period rang so I headed for my class.

About thirty minutes into the period the second lunch bell began ringing. So I made my way towards the cafeteria and as I got there I didn't see many freshman. I figured they must've had first lunch I thought as I got line to grab my lunch. Looking at what was available, I picked something light and moved down the line. A lunch lady cashed me out from there I went in search of an empty table.

Sure enough I found an empty table that over looked the school's water fountain. Without warning I became aware of someone familiar approaching me from behind. Sadly I couldn't tell who it was until he announced himself rather loudly. "HEY, THERE YOU BIG SCRAWNY PUP, WHATCHA DOING SITTING HERE?!" He shouted wrapping a muscular arm around my neck.

Turning my head to the left I was face to face with all to familiar person. "What's up, Razze so where's our other partner in crime?" I asked smiling broadly in return. A soft slap to the back of my head quickly confirmed where Finx was hiding. "You're so lucky we're childhood friends or I'd park my foot up your bushy tail." She smiled in spite. Razze let me go, Finx came over hugged me briefly and joined me.

"So Iros how's your day been so far buddy?" Finx asked with curiosity. I was more than happy to share, including my run in with that temperamental hyena lady. They were a little amazed about that and from there we talk about other things. Sadly the bell rang so I told them where I'd parked if they wanted a ride home. We got up threw our trash away, said our goodbyes and went back to class.

Fourth period went by quickly so when the bell rang I went to the next class on my list. As I turned the corner the same woman from before was apparently waiting for somebody. Naturally I was hoping it wasn't me so before she decided to rant I spoke first. When I went to open my mouth I saw tears streaking down her face. "Are you alright Celia did something happen?" I asked sincerely.

Her ears twitch as she tilted her head up then turned to look at me standing nearby. "Why should you even give a ****?" She replied, sobbing. I flinched away slightly then I threw my hands up in the air and rolled my eyes. "Here, I try to be a nice guy an offer my help, only to get told to go fur myself. What ever deal with it on your own Celia, I don't need this crap seeya later." I replied walking past her.

She swiftly reached out grabbing my tail causing me to stop and turned to face her. "Hold on how can you be so nice, after I've been nothing but, a bitch to you?" She asked with confusion. I merely told her I was raised not to harbor ill feelings towards anyone. Naturally that earned me a rather negative response from her. So I chewed her out calmly before yanking my tail out of her grip.

<Oh, fur me what in the world put your panties in such a big knot, Celia?> I pondered. Deciding not to feed into the situation any further I kept walking down the hall. As I entered the garage/classroom I was shocked to see it setup like a professional garage. "So are you just going to stand there or you planning on finding a seat?" The teacher remarked as he stood right behind me.

"Sorry, sir I was just admiring how well equipped this place was that's all." I replied walking into the room. He chuckled as he walked over to his desk and sat down on his chair. So I looked around for an empty desk to sit as other students entered right behind us. As they found suitable places to sit down he took attendance. He started going over what we'd be learning over the course of the semester.

The next thing he went over was shop safety and the rules in place during all assignments. I took down notes on the off chance he decided to test us on shop safety rules. Luckily that class and the last one of the day went by without a hitch. As final bell rang to announcing the end of the school day. "That was one hell of a first day, I can only imagine what tomorrow will have in store." I stated heading out to my car.

As I walked onto the pavement of the parking lot, Celia caught up with me at my car. "Hey, look I know we didn't get off to a good start for that I'm sorry. Normally I'm not so bitchy towards new people, unless I'm given a reason to be one." She informed. I could tell by her tone she was telling me the truth today's events. So forgave her then we sat down on the hood and talked about things for a while.

"Need a ride I'd be more than happy to give you a lift home if you want." I offered. She thanked me for the offer and told me her car was parked just a short walk away. "Before you take off if you ever need a friendly ear just give me a holler, okay." I stated. As she walked way she gave me a thumbs up then jogged towards her car. From out of the corner of my left eye I saw Aniu calmly walking towards me.

As she got closer the look on her face told me she was already up to no good. "AWWW! Isn't that adorable does my little brother have a potential new girlfriend." Aniu smirked. I just rolled my eyes then told her it was someone that needed a friendly ear. "Oh, anyway I came by to tell you I don't need a ride to work." She stated. Not wasting a second I decided to get my own cheap shot in before she left.

"Ok, so who did you shake your ass for this time around?" I teased with a big smile. "BITE ME, IROS!" She barked seconds later. Naturally I'm laughing like a immature child as her tail swished angrily. "Alright, I'll be by you job later on tonight to bring you home." I replied getting a hold of myself. She hugged me then told me to pick her up at work around six o'clock tonight.

"Sure thing sis, I'm going to hang around to see if Razze and Finx need a ride." I said as she walked away. "Okay, bye little brother I'll see you later." She replied a second later. I waved goodbye as she hooked up with her ride to work and drove off. As I turned around to face my car Razze and Finx were waiting patiently. "Well, it's finally nice of our chauffer to notice us." Razze grinned.

"You can always walk home baby." Finx replied looking at him questioningly. Naturally I had a smart remark of my own so of course I happily shared with them. "Hey I've got a better idea we tie him to the roof with some rope." I teased. "Don't even think about buddy or else." Razze shot back. "Or else you'll do what mister?" Finx asked without hesitation while looking at him intently.

"Nothing, sweetie." He said cautiously glancing over his right shoulder at her. This satisfied smile appeared on her face a short time later much to his relief as I unlocked the doors. Though till this day I still can't believe how well trained she had him. So we climbed into my car, closed the door and I fired up the motor. It was a short trip to Finx's home, they got out, said goodbye then I headed towards work.

As I hit Route 32 I glanced at my gauges and noticed I needed to put fuel in the tank. Luckily my job wasn't too far away and I could use the employee fuel pump out back. The second I pulled into the parking lot and drove around behind the building. I saw Marcus taking the pump apart and I knew what was going on. While Marcus dealt with that I drove my car into my service bay to change the oil.

About thirty minutes I changed the oil then fired up the engine and pulled out of the garage. By the time I drove around back once more Marcus had fixed the pump. Though Jason was giving him hell about remembering to change the filters regularly. After cutting the ignition I asked if it was safe to use the employee gas pump. Jason told me to knock myself out, so I opened the door and put fuel into the tank.

From there I did a few things around the shop before grabbing my paycheck. I asked Jason for my work schedule for the week, which he had on hand at the time. Once he gave it too me, I headed out to my car then drove off to pick up Aniu. It was a short twenty minute drive to her job and as I pulled into the parking lot. The second I found a decent parking space my phone started ringing off the hook.

"Hello, who's this?" I answered calmly after pulling my phone out of my center console. "Hi, honey could you pick up milk, bread, jelly and eggs before coming home?" Mom asked politely. Naturally I didn't have a problem picking up what she needed from the market. With that I reached out to Aniu telepathically a second later. <Hey, get off your ass, mom needs me to get a few things at the market.> I barked telepathically.

<Sheesh, don't get your damn boxers in a knot, I'm walking out the door now.> She snapped. Three minutes later she walks up to my car, opened the door and got in. "Well, fancy meeting you here on such a fine evening little lady." I smirked as she sat down. "Oh, kiss my furry ass." She muttered under her breath. With that I fired up the engine then exited the parking lot and drove to the nearest store.

The closest supermarket was just down the road and has a bank inside. So I could get everything mother asked me to get before making our way back home. I gave Aniu the list I wrote when mom called and she went to get everything on it. We met up back at my car when we finished with what we needed to inside. As we pulled back out onto the main roadway Aniu's phone started ringing.

As she answers it, I'm thinking who could be calling her this time around. So instead of reading her mind I just listened very carefully to her phone conversation. Until she shot me a very evil glare from her side of the car so I backed off. The rest of the drive home we just talked about how our school day. When we pulled into the driveway and before I turned off the ignition I noticed time.

"Shit, look at the time mom's going to kill us the second we walk in the door." I said nervously. Of course we started arguing which mom over heard then the door flew open. "WHERE IN THE HELL HAVE YOU TWO BEEN?!" Venetia demanded making us jump. I did my best to placate her by holding up the groceries she asked me to get. Followed by Aniu telling she had to stay a little longer than normal at work.

"Alright, go get cleaned up dinner has been done for a while and it's still warm." She stated walking away. The tone of her voice alone told us that she had a rough day at work. "Let's do as she says before she finds another reason to chew us out." I replied. Aniu nodded in agreement then made her upstairs to the bathroom. Before I followed after her I noticed father get up and walk into the kitchen.

We washed up then joined our parents in the dining where mom served everyone. Before taking a seat next to my father, when she started eating I just had to ask. Naturally she looked up from her plate then shared with everyone what had upset her. Of course Aniu made a smart remark which nearly got her in trouble. Luckily she was smart enough to stay quiet to avoid landing in some real trouble.

From there the topic got changed to something less tense to something more current. My father Travis was curious to learn how my first day of high school went. So I gave him non-specific info until Aniu's mouth opened up a can of worms. The teasing got so bad I literally got up, left the house then went for a drive. I didn't go very far I ended up stopping over at Finx's home to cool off for a while.

I stayed for about an hour before finally deciding to head back home to get yelled at again. After parking my car inside the garage I calmly wandered my way upstairs to my bedroom. When I passed by the study Mom called me over wanting to talk. To my great relief she wasn't mad at the fact I took off during dinner. So naturally I was curious as to what kind of questions she had in mind.

"The true reason why I called you over is the small matter of your wings. So my son are you able to reveal them or not?" She wondered curiously. Granted I took no pleasure in lying to my own mother but, this subject is still touchy. "No, mom I can sense them within me but, I can seem to bring them forth." I lied convincingly. She took a moment and thought about my response before replying.

"I see it would seem your wings are waiting for a certain series of events to unfold. This isn't uncommon thing for all male Draconian to experience while growing up. Though don't go worrying yourself over it when the time comes you'll know what to do. Now off to bed with you sweetie, goodnight Iros." Mom stated kissing my forehead. From there we exited the study then went to our own bedrooms.

<I'm, so, so Sorry mother but, I feel out of place as things stand now, please forgive me.> I thought. After I opened and closed my bedroom door I undressed then crawled into bed. As I drifted off to sleep visions of possible future events haunted my dreams. Even when I was little these so called messages haven't gone away. If anything they've gotten longer and clearer as the years have gone by.

They always started pretty much the same way with me standing in some destroyed city. From there I take to the air chasing after a strange yet very familiar energy signal. Only to discover this worn down old temple that calls a plateau home. Of course finding a way inside always proves to be a royal pain in the tail. What I'd like to know is, what all these visions mean and why haunt me nightly?
