The Days Go So Fast
That wonderful day, the brisk cool fall air, breezing through my brown and tan fur. The birds giving a wonderful serenade as my paws tread on the concrete sidewalk. Today, had a sense, of something wonderful blossoming, maybe the cherry trees with their sweet scent. Or maybe it was just the colors of the trees, their explosion into luscious colors of gold, red and orange.
But today held something far more precious. As i walked into work, at a petit little pet shop in a town that everyone knew everyone. A new scent hit my nose as i hopped the counter to put on my red employee vest. The scent was male, of another german shepherd, but differed greatly from my own, it smelled as if he had been picking peaches all day and the scent of the sweet fruit had somehow been implanted in his intoxicating scent. I sniffed the air as i sat at the register and pinpointed the scent to the figure in the back of the store, who was out of view. I slumped back in my chair and waited for something to happen.
A few minutes passed as my ears perked to a crash in the rear of the store, figuring it was one of the animals i walked back to the area to find the hooded figure from before, trying to collect escaped mice, which were easily evading his paws. I bent down to help him as his warm scent washed over my nose again, and he turned his head to reveal glowing green eyes. I stumbled and fell back on my tail when i saw this, dumbfounded at how anybody but myself could have such strange eyes. As i went to retrieve myself he stood and bolted out the door, leaving me with the "bing bong" of the door and all the mice surprisingly collected in their cages, shivering , as if they wanted to get away from those glowing green eyes.
