It has been years since I've written a story; thought it was time to start a new story hope you guys enjoy.

This story take place about 4 years after Otters Have All the Fun. I hope you guys enjoy and have the time and energy to read the whole thing. Please comment and rate.

Jake awoke with a start; it'd been years since he thought about his freshman year of high school. He pulled his blanket tighter around himself and let out a sigh of relief realizing that it was nothing more than a reoccurring nightmare. His time at Starview High was a time of self-exploration, his experience with Elson helped him realize he wasn't gay. His therapist explained to him that he was only looking for a male to fill the place of his absentee father. It took him four years to accept that and have it really sink in. Jake picked up his phone checking the time.

"Shit, it's seven thirty time to get up."

He'd stated at Baywind Community College two weeks ago. Classes started at eight thirty every morning and he had to travel three cities over to get there. The otter stretched and ran his webbed fingers through the tangled mess of hair on top of his head. Kicking the blankets off, he rotated till his legs hung off the edge of the bed. Sighing again he slowly slid off the bed and drug himself to the bathroom across the hall. Flicking on the light he took a look in the mirror.

"It's going to be a long day." Jake mumbled under his breath as he removed his eyes from the tired looking otter in the mirror as he began to undress in preparation for a shower. Having removed the shorts and underwear he wore last night; Jake turned on the water waiting for it to heat up as he grabbed a fresh towel from the rack setting it aside. The bathroom began to fill with steam as the water heated up, Jake pulled back the curtain and stepped beginning to make mental notes of what he had to do to make sure his day went smooth as possible.

Brush teeth, straighten hair, get dressed, if time permitted eat breakfast, grab camera/laptop bag, grab todays text books, drive to campus, then once I get there keep my head low and talk to no one. Having finished washing and rinsing off Jake grabbed his towel and wrapped it around his waist before stepping out. Walking over to the mirror he wiped the condensation that had built up off and took another look at the otter staring back.

Jake wasn't the most handsome otter out there by a long shot. He stood just shy six feet sporting brown fur with red undertones. His hair a big afro of black hair minus the patch of the right side of his head going from the middle of his widows' peak to the center of his ear which he'd dyed a bright red. His eyes were a dark brown though they appeared to be black. Under his nose was a thin black mustache, accompanied by a scraggly amount of chin hair.

"Nineteen year and never once have I touched a razor, it's pathetic." Jake said as he plugged in the flat iron waiting for it to heat up. It'd taken him a while to figure out what to do with the mess of curls on top of his head. He'd worn them in cornrows for about a month during the summer before finally deciding to let it be an afro. New school, new look, new me: Jake though as he began the painstaking process of straitening his hair. After approximately forty five minutes Jake put down the iron combed his hair forward to cover as much of his eyes as he could and took a look in the mirror giving a nod of approval.

Tightening the towel around his waist Jake walked back to his room calmly and picked his phone up off the night stand to see how much time he had left before having to leave for class. " Damn-it I'm gonna be late!" Jake exclaimed. Jake quickly dropped his towel, grabbed a pair of boxer briefs and an undershirt from his drawer and put them on. Scrambling to his closet he selected his red Tripp pants, black t-shirt with demented looking smiley face, black combat boots. Having finished dressing he grabbed his keys, wallet and phone and stomped down the stairs.

My photography professor is gonna murder me if I'm late again. Jake thought, scooping up has camera/laptop bag from floor next to the door and quickly ran out. Closing and locking the door behind him Jake turned his attention to the tan 1988 Honda Civic hatchback sitting in the driveway; his pride and joy next to his camera. Opening the door and throwing his bag in the back seat he backed out of the driveway and began the 30 minute drive to the art center where his classes were held.

Jake quickly found a parking space, grabbed his bag, and jogged to the door of the art center checking his phone. He let out a sigh of relief realizing he'd arrived with five minutes to spare. Slowing down to a walk he entered the building and proceeded to check in with the security guard before making his way up to the elevator and head to the third floor. Briskly exiting the elevator he made his way to the classroom only to discover a note on the door from the professor that read:

Dear Class,

Due to the fact I am a professional photographer I cancelled class today in order to photograph a wedding. I apologize for any inconvenience we'll reconvene next week same time and place. Work on your projects in the meantime.

Sincerely, Professor Bridgeport

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Jake said reading the note for a second time for reassurance. "This is some A-One bullshit, the one time I'm actually ON TIME this douche-bag isn't even here. I might as well chill in the lounge don't feel like going home and being alone."

Jake slowly walked to the lounge re-adjusting the heavy bag on his shoulder. Walking into the lounge he looked around for an empty spot where he could plug up his laptop and watch a movie on Netflix while he waited for the time he'd have normally spend in class to pass. Having located the only empty spot in the room he walked over and dropped his stuff next to a female panda bear staring intently into her laptop, headphones connected firmly placed firmly over her head covering her ears. After getting his laptop set up Jake got up and headed over to the vending machine right behind the panda.

Having fed the machine the proper amount of money, Jake retrieved his soda and turned around wondering what this panda was concentrating so heavily on. Walking up behind her quietly Jake studied her screen and recognized the music program she was running. Walking up beside her Jake reached over and began hitting random keys on her laptop causing her to look up for the first time since he entered the room. She stared at him with the most intense chocolate brown eyes, behind thin rimmed glasses, Jake had ever seen.

"Here that song wasn't going anywhere anyway." said the panda as she handed him her laptop.

"Ummmmh, I don't know how to work this software. I'm a photographer not a musician."

"Here I'll show you." Said the panda as she stood up so her headphones would move with the laptop as Jake sat down in his chair. "The keyboard acts just like piano keys, have fun"

In the short amount of time the panda had stood up Jake had looked at her from head to toe and was instantly struck by her beauty. She stood about a half a foot shorter than him, wearing black jean short shorts, a red tutu, a black Blood on the Dance Floor band tee, and black Converse All Stars. Her hair was black dyed with splotches of red throughout in no real pattern; straighten in the front curly in the back. She had the customary white face with black ears, arms, legs, and black circles around her eyes. Jake had seen many panda's on his nineteen years but none as jaw dropping beautiful as her.

Shaking his head Jake turned his attention to the laptop screen and began messing around and making random dissonant sounds.

"Wow you weren't kidding, you really aren't a musician. Hahahah let me show you how it's done." The panda said reaching over to retrieve her laptop. A few clicks later she unplugged her head phones and hit the spacebar. A beautiful song begins to fill the air and the otter leans back in his chair closing his eyes and letting himself get engulfed in the music. All too soon the song ended.

"Holy shit, you made that?"

"Yea..."

"It's a-fuckin-mazing"

"Well thank you."

"We should stay in contact, maybe be friends, what's your name and number? Mine is Jacob Hinder."

"Mine is Destiny Destroy."

Trading phones they enter their contact info. Handing back phones they look at what the other has typed. "Hey I'll text you later," Destiny said as her phone began to ring. "That's my mom I gotta go... camera boy."

"Okay...wait what, who is camera boy?"

"You are silly, that's the only way I'll remember who you are."

After two weeks of constant texting and hanging out with Destiny at the art center, Jake realized that this was the first time since the incident with Elson that he'd had feeling for anyone. There conversations had led to conversations about many things, how both of them were Goth, how each had experimented with homosexuality, how both were Christians, they even attended the same church. All of these conversations had deepened the feeling Jake had for this mysterious panda.

The first day of week three Jake arrived to the art center a bit early. Destiny and he had exchanged class schedules the previous week. On this day Jake had the most nerve racking decision to make in a while. After setting his stuff down next a familiar panda, Jake went and got his customary soda.

"Hey, Destiny wanna walk over to the store next door and get some snacks?"

"Sure, hold on let me save this song." Closing her laptop and sticking it in her bag Destiny grabbed her purse and followed Jake out of the lounge. They hopped on the elevator and existed the building.

"So..." the otter stalled swallowing hard "ummmh so I kinda like you and I was wondering if....well....umh...you'd go on a date with me? The panda stopped dead in her tracks taken aback. After regaining her composure she turned to him and said.

".............................................................."

Hey guys hope you enjoyed this story, I know it's been 4 years since I posted anything, and this one is really long. I'm hoping this story is better than the last one and that you'll come back for the rest of Jacob and Destiny's story. Please comment and let me know how I can make this story and the next installment better.

I base all of my stories off of my life, I simply change the names of people, places, and some details to protect myself and others involved. SO Yes I am Jake.
