The fight continues between the arctic fox and his foes. The enemy is cunning though and does something unexpected to ensure their own peace.

Another bolt of a plasma projectile rocketed for the amphibian. This Creeper saw the projectile however and dodged it. Yukiomaru sprung off the ground in that instant and resumed the attack. Both combatants had several fresh wounds since Jun had first arrived, and the fights have continued for several minutes since then.

The arctic fox threw a punch for Euno's cheek, but the amphibian blocked it with one of his webbed claws. Euno counterattacked with an undercut punch with his free scaly paw aimed towards the fox's gut, but Yukiomaru sidestepped and spun on his pads aiming the back of his elbow at Euno's cheek again.

The amphibian ducked aimed to kick Yukiomaru's hindpaws out from underneath him but the fox jumped back, gaining a meter of distance between the two. With the advantage of reach of his spear, Yukiomaru swung at the amphibian. The attack was dodged but Yukiomaru kept Euno on the defensive and didn't risk stepping too close this time. Euno tried to step in but Yukiomaru would swing a kick to keep him at optimal distance for the weapon.

Nearby the winged Creeper had engaged Tiriaq. The ermine swung at the Creeper with the plasma edged sword aiming for the creature's neck but it easily dodged the attack by stepping back. Tiriaq kept his momentum by swinging in a large arc aiming for the creature's body. Each time the ermine swung, the attack was dodged.

The winged creature saw an opportunity to counterattack so it did. With a strike of its wing, Tiriaq's armor cracked and he was thrown back. The moment Tiriaq was disengaged, the Creeper was fired upon and didn't have a chance to pull off a follow-up attack.

Each projectile pierced through the air where the Creeper had been moments before, as it dodged each projectile but it could not recover as the fire came too fast and rapid. One projectile even pierced through the feathers of the creature.

Yelena, standing half a dozen meters away did not relent. She rapidly tapped the trigger, staying ahead of the Creeper even at the close range. She was surprised that it managed to dodge her attacks but she had also expected it.

Regardless of her missed shots, the distraction gave Tiriaq time to recover from suffering the hard blow. Standing back up he was ready to join the fight again.

The creature tried to close in on Cassander, but she kept it at bay using the terrain to her advantage and firing the plasma rounds wherever the Creeper tried to gain distance. Tiriaq ran after the Creeper, swung at it but was again dodged. The distraction allowed Yelena to fire a precise shot.

The winged Creeper turned to dodge the projectile, but the plasma impacted its wing joint. The wing was broken at an awkward angle. The Creeper spun with the impact and stopped to glare at Yelena. The ermine Captain didn't relent though and attacked the provoked Creeper. The officers managed to stay on par with the advanced alien despite its provocation.

While the officers and other soldiers fought the Perfected Infections, and several becoming injured, Jun focused on Yukiomaru's fight with Euno.

The arctic fox spun and used the momentum to give him added strength as he struck or kicked out at the Creeper. Euno blocked an elbow aimed for his flank, but the alien counterattacked by trying to knee Yukiomaru on the gut. Blocking with both paws, Yukiomaru avoided suffering from the attack.

The fox spun on his hindpaw, his tail trailing behind like a ribbon as fast as he moved, and tried to land a kick on the sides of the creature's ribs. Euno ducked and dodged the attack, before striking out and landing a blow on Yukiomaru's ribs.

The force of the blow staggered Yukiomaru. The pine marten covered his friend and fired at Euno, but the Perfected Infection dodged and came after Jun.

"Jun!" Yukiomaru yelled.

He saw the threat coming and Jun fired repeatedly but the Perfect Infection moved with purpose, and motivation that the others had not moved with before. The pine marten fired a plasma shot at Euno, but it impacted mere centimeters from the creature, burning a hole in the ground. The closer Euno got the harder it was to dodge, but he managed to stay one step ahead of Jun.

Yukiomaru recovered and pursued but Euno was not that far away from Jun.

With the alien three meters away, Jun reached for his belt and pulled out his plasma-edged sword and swung an upper cut at Euno. The alien dodged the blade, slid around to Jun's flank and wrapped an arm around the pine marten's throat with the webbed paw going to the back his helmet. Euno grabbed Jun's paw and twisted it sharply, forcing Jun to drop the weapon.

Jun growled in pain, having his arm twisted behind him as well and his enemy's arm wrapped around his throat. Wincing, Jun could only feel that Euno was glaring over his shoulder at Yukiomaru. Struggling against the powerful alien, Jun realized that he had been immobilized, completely at the mercy of the alien.

With his eyes opening, he saw Yukiomaru had stopped in his tracks when he saw Jun in danger. The arctic fox's fur was raised.

"Is this why you fight, Yukiomaru?" Euno spoke loudly to the fox. The Creeper twisted Jun's arm more. The pain caused Jun to cry out in pain, with tears forming in his eyes. His vision of Yukiomaru was obscured. . "For him?"

"Don't!" screamed Yukiomaru. "Please, don't hurt him."

Euno relented slightly, allowing Jun to see Yukiomaru again. The fox had every fur strand on his body raised, and he was visibly shaking.

"He's my enemy, you know that," Euno said, calmly but his voiced was still slightly raised. "You destroy your enemies, and so do I."

Jun felt the arm wrapped around his throat tighten, crushing the armor plating and cutting off his air supply.

"Please Euno!!" pleaded the arctic fox. Desperation, fear and anger fueled Yukiomaru's eyes. His eyes were glazed over and more tears than Jun had ever seen escape from his eyes leaked over his cheek fur. With a sharp and sudden yank, the pine marten's helmet was ripped off. The armor plating shattered, and the force of the shards of armor cut Jun before they helmet was discarded to the side.

Jun opened his eyes surprised that only his helmet was painfully removed. The others were still fighting but Yukiomaru was still shaking with his paws curled into fists.

"Yu..." Jun was cut off as the alien's arm wrapped around his throat again. "..ki..."

"Euno, stop!"

"Here he is, Yukiomaru," Euno said, emphasizing the fact by forcing Jun to raise his head. "What would you do if you were to lose him?"

"Euno," growled Yukiomaru staring directly into Jun's eyes. Jun have never seen Yukiomaru so upset before. His body was still shaking, and the ground around him was freezing solid. Even the air misted and the storm that had blown over already seemed to be spawning anew.

"Answer me!" demanded Euno, his own voice having aggression now.

"I..." Yukiomaru stuttered. His eyes did not dare leave's Jun's. "Euno, I don't know! Just let him go!"

"That's not an answer," mocked the alien. "Would you take his place?"

"Yes!"

"No, Yuki!" yelled Jun, but the alien again cut him off by tightening his grip.

"Well, I have Jun and not you so let's find out what you'll do without him," Euno said cynically.

"Noo!" screamed Yukiomaru. His body shook violently, while he stared helplessly at Euno. Whatever the infection had granted Yukiomaru was now causing the field to freeze over, the sky turn dark against the morning sun and the temperature to drop rapidly. "Euno, PLEASE! Don't!"

Jun stared at Yukiomaru's eyes where the anger had fled and left only desperation and sadness. He struggled against the alien but he could not budge against Euno's strength. The alien's grip tightened slowly before it loosened completely.

Jun stumbled forward as Euno released him, and he collapsed to the ground. Trying to catch his breath, he sensed the alien side step and stepping beside him. Without warning, the Creeper charged forward and went by Yukiomaru, completely ignoring him.

The arctic fox didn't even turn his gaze from Jun, and ran up to him the moment Euno had released him. Where Euno was going was not even his concern in the slightest at that moment. Yukiomaru stopped and knelt down to Jun.

The pine marten rolled to his side and started to pick himself up but was interrupted with the arctic fox nearly tackled him and wrapped his arms around Jun in a tight grip. Even though Yukiomaru was nearly naked, and Jun still had his body armor on, Yukiomaru's crushing grip was felt through it.

"Jun," Yukiomaru sobbed; his breathing was shallow and rapid while his body shook with sobs. He buried his wet eyes into Jun's neck fur.

"I'm all right, Yuki," replied Jun, returning the hug on the arctic fox. "I'm not hurt." Yukiomaru continued to sob, holding onto Jun tightly completely neglecting the battle still raging around him. "We still are not safe here though."

Yukiomaru loosened his hug a bit and looked directly into Jun's eyes, nose to nose. The golden eyes were covered in a layer of tears, while those too heavy leaked out onto his fur. His saddened eyes changed slightly as he was reminded of the battle, and he turned to see where Euno had gone.

The alien had moved, with the winged alien away from their fights. They joined up with the leader and the furless Perfected Infection, but what happened next wasn't expected.

Euno attacked the Guardian, landing a hit across the cheek of the creature while the winged alien attacked the furless Creeper. With the surprise, the leader didn't have time to block as Euno kneed it in the stomach with hard hit.

The soldiers of the UDAS were surprised and immediately halted their fire while the four Perfected Infections fought against themselves.

Euno had landed several hits before the surprised Guardian had time to counterattack. Euno deflected the open-clawed attack and kicked out again hitting the Creeper-Guardian in the gut throwing it back by a meter.

"What's going on, Yuki?" questioned Jun. Yuki's sobs stopped by the shock of the change in events but he was as confused as the marten was.

"I don't know," Yukiomaru muttered staring at the Creepers.

The soldiers gave them a wide berth while the fight dragged across the landscape. The Guardian counterattacked successfully and kicked Euno causing him to land closer toward Yukiomaru. The Guardian charged and continued to fight against one of his own, but Euno recovered from the attack and dodged the incoming attacks.

"Go back to your ship, Jun," ordered Yukiomaru, standing up with the pine marten. The fight was coming closer to them, and Yukiomaru wanted Jun to stay far away from it.

"Yuki," said Jun but he complied, and stepped back. Euno was hit hard again, and he fell back only a few meters from the arctic fox.

Jun stayed back but continued to watch as the Creeper stood up, and did not give any concern to Yukiomaru. Euno was only focused on the Infected Guardian.

"What did you do?" accused the Guardian speaking to Yukiomaru. "Your desecration of the blessing is spreading."

Euno chuckled and wiped some blood from his cheek. "It wasn't him."

"What are you talking about Euno?" questioned the Guardian.

"Jun is right," Euno said. "Your method of conquering is not working. And what I've seen through these creatures, they do love each other and will do anything to protect one another."

So he was listening!

"I just witnessed the truth of that," continued Euno. "I have been waiting for Yukiomaru's words to come true, and so they have. Other races may destroy their planets, but we cannot conquer every planet because some races destroy themselves. There are those that are worth preserving."

"Are you dimwitted?" insulted the Infected Guardian.

"No, I am not," Euno defended. "Us fighting against your own race, and these furred aliens here is costing us more planets than we ever thought possible. Your race survives, with all their technology stripped from them on your planet. This war will cost you your own race, and that planet."

"They are the ones destroying our planets!" yelled the Guardian.

"Because they defend themselves against yours and Aggressor's tactics," replied Euno. "Yukiomaru was ready to sacrifice everything to protect Jun Fa. Love like that is worth defending; they know it and I now know it."

Jun listened carefully, finding it more than interesting that the enemy that was just about to kill him is now defending the actions of the UDAS. Was all of Euno's fights nothing more than a test of them?

"Euno?" questioned Yukiomaru.

"The survival of the planets are more valuable," replied the Elder.

"An alliance will make for better chances, yes?" questioned Euno, turning to speak to Yukiomaru. The arctic fox was confused, but he smiled slightly and jumped at the Elder with a slash of his spear. The Elder dodged, but was immediately hit by Euno who charged with Yukiomaru. The arctic fox took an advantage and again struck out, Yukiomaru striking with his plasma spear across the arm of the Elder.

Euno landed a second hit against the leg of the Guardian, who's leg buckled. Yukiomaru kicked up, striking the Guardian against the underside of its muzzle, throwing the Guardian back onto his back.

The Elder rolled with the momentum and jumped back onto his hindpaws. He blocked as Euno attacked again, and counterattacked. Euno dodged but it gave time for the Elder to dodge Yukiomaru's attack.

Euno had never fought with Yukiomaru before, only against him. But fighting against each other has given them knowledge of how they fight, and is now giving them an advantage while they fought together.

Was that part of Euno's plan?

The feathered Creeper continue to fight against the furless Creeper in the distance. They were more evenly matched. The Elder, however, was quickly becoming overwhelmed by Yukiomaru and Euno's relentless attack. The finned tail of Euno weighed him down more, but the light fluffy tail of the arctic fox twirled around while he fought. The Elder did manage to defend himself a bit, and only a few of his counterattacks managed to land.

Euno kicked the Infected Guardian across the head, dazing it long enough that Yukiomaru impaled the Guardian with the spear. Removing the spear, the Elder stumbled back to his hindpaws.

"Euno!" he cursed.

Euno turned to Yukiomaru and held out a webbed paw. Yukiomaru stared at the creature for a moment before complying and handed the spear over to Euno.

The amphibian walked up to the Elder, placing the bladed tip at its throat.

"Yuki," Jun muttered, catching the fox's attention the moment the spear ended the Elder. He didn't want Yukiomaru to have to see something like that.

The winged Creeper had finished fighting the furless Creeper, having won over that battle as well. The UDAS soldiers were still shocked and were just witnessing the battle. The battle overhead quickly quieted down, but Jun no longer had a way to get an update with his helmet destroyed.

"Euno?" questioned Jun, walking up to Yukiomaru and the amphibian.

"Sorry Jun, for threatening you," Euno said, his expression blank. "The Elder was compromising too many of our planets to fight this war. He had to be removed."

"Are you suggesting an alliance?" asked Jun. He walked up to Yukiomaru and put an arm around him protectively.

"Yes," replied Euno. "I will command the remainder Creeper forces, as you call them, to halt their advances. Your fleets must stop burning our planets. I will return with you to negotiate the terms of our coexistence."

"Coexistence?" Yukiomaru repeated, with the threat of a growl on his tone. Jun's presence, and touch, calmed the fox down though. They had suffered greatly at the Creeper's expense, and the thought was difficult to digest.

"If we can stop the battles, then we will listen to your terms," Jun said, taking command of the situation.

"Is this a cure?" Yukiomaru interrupted, eagerly.

"I don't know," Euno replied.

Yukiomaru growled, and abruptly turned and walked off.

"Yuki?" questioned Jun, feeling the fox pull away. "I'm sorry, Euno."

"It's difficult, I don't mind," Euno said, and allowed Jun to follow Yukiomaru.

"Yuki!" Jun said, following the fox. The sun was finally breaking through the cloud formations that had suddenly formed. "Stop."

The arctic fox complied, and waited for Jun to catch up. Placing his paws on the fox's shoulder, Jun tried to look him in the eyes but he refused to meet the marten's gaze.

"I want to be cured," he muttered, staring down at the ground.

"Yukiomaru, you are beautiful the way you are," Jun said with a soft voice. "Do you realize what Euno has just done? He defected to end our conflicts. It is done. The war is over."

Yukiomaru's ears perked up slightly at that. It took a moment for Yukiomaru to realize what that had meant.

He raised his golden eyes to meet Jun's gaze. The white reflected the morning sun brightly, making his golden eyes shine and emphasizing a small smile that reach across Yukiomaru's muzzle for the first time without the underlying concerns he always had before.

"It _is_over."
