The crew of Drach'n Fury is fighting against the leaders of the alien army, but the two main forces are still clashing far away. While the fleets are holding their own, they are slowly getting worn down. However, four years of fighting experience seems to have revived something long forgotten in the soldiers of the UDAS.

The waves of the infectious aliens acted like a tsunami against the fleets, creating chaos among them. Everything that was loose was washed away and claimed by the tsunami, but the fleets held together and the waves crashed against a mountain.

Single fighters pushed their ships to their limits, by chasing the Creepers down as they narrowly dodged the warships. On a collision course with a large ship with active shields, the Creepers would split off at the last second forcing the single fighters to come only a few meters from crashing into those ships and destroying themselves. Once they realigned on the Creepers, the single fighters fired and destroyed them before they could perform another risky maneuver in attempt to shake off the fighters.

The warships fired at close range with all their artillery rounds, causing more obstacles for the single fighters but they picked apart the Creeper forces. Several of the ships were rotating to distribute damage and their firepower across their entire range. However, they still focused their main cannons on the incoming larger threats.

The majority of the fleets were on the frontlines, in the chaotic mess of the battle. There were the ships that were rotating in and out of that mess though, and even while the ships repaired and repelled borders behind the main battle, those ships were being engaged by a small amount of Creepers that had made it through. Soon enough the Creepers will be making it toward the platforms.

As a response, there were nearly three hundred single fighters floating around the platforms ready to defend them. The platforms focused on the Klienestov that appeared on the battlefield, which in the vicinity of the UDAS fleets had already numbered to over five dozen. Most were killed by the platforms, but a few had to be targeted by the warships before they were finally brought down but it had come at a great cost as now several ships were struggling to maintain control of the ships. One of which was the refitted carrier, Drach'n Breath.

"Insectoids moving toward engine room," the report came over the wolf's headset.

Four armored wolves were standing in an intersection fo corridors, all flanking one another. They were guarding the entrance of the engine room, but the power was out including the lights, and the door controls.

A.J. was watching down the dark corridors with his low-light enhancers activated on his heads-up display. Considering how they nearly lost the s hip to the infection last time, all power was cut to the engines. They would not dare risk feeding any Hacker Infection that used the ship's own power to feed its growth.

The approaching Insectoid Creepers weren't very subtle as small vibrations were felt in the ship hull. The low-light enhancers picked up movement further down the corridor as the enemy crashed through the small halls.

"Incoming contact," Alex reported to his team. "Hold your fire until they're in range."

The moment the Insectoids were close enough to be seen outline by their HUD, the team opened fired. The creatures were small and compact in the corridors, which allowed them to be shredded to pieces by the ballistic projectiles. A few Insectoids tried to squeeze over their fallen, but was targeted and quickly destroyed as well. Only this small party had made it pass the border patrollers, and they were quickly destroyed.

"Enemy threat, eliminated," reported Alex to the ship commander.

"Excellent team, report to hangar for border patrol," replied the commander. "We're moving to the front lines. Our borders are secured for now and we're armed to rejoin the fight."

"Move team," ordered Alex.

The four wolves moved towards the Creepers they had just killed. The corpses of the Insectoids blocked their path but the wolves pushed around them. When one twitched or moved, that Creeper received an extra burst of rounds to their body.

While they made their way back toward the hangar, Kaitlin had once again hacked into the monitors on the bridge surveying the battle and linked them to the team. While they made their way back toward the hangar, A.J. watched from the corner of his eye the battle raging outside. With the small in-screen view of the battle, it was difficult to see what was going on. All he could see was the pool of chaos.

A.J. kept his eye on the corridor as he ran though. The lights warmed up along with the engine behind them now that the threat of infection was gone. The ship slowly started to accelerated toward the front line again, already firing its long-range artillery at an infected warship. The infected ship did not have active shields so the artillery rounds left gaping wounds and tore it apart.

Entering through the entrance doors to the hangar, A.J. also witnessed how the battle had raged there. The soldiers on the bridge were still cleaning up the dead Creepers who had ravaged the hangar. Supply crates were loose and several broken open; some of the dropships still docked even suffered heavy wounds and signs of the battle had left burn marks and puncture marks in the hull itself.

The blast doors were closing on the hangar entrance, after a strike team had left out of it to go repel borders on another ship. Before the blast doors completely shut, A.J. caugh ta glimpse of the battle outside again. It truly was chaotic but he could see that the fleet was holding its own. The Creepers were suffering heavily at the paws of the UDAS fleets.

A winged serpent drifted by close to Drach'n Breath but it suffered from several direct hits of artillery rounds. A trio of fighters flew by the creature and fired half a dozen missiles at the creature's head. They blossomed on it, and the creature slowed down and reeled back long enough for the artillery rounds to destroy the creature.

The blast door shut before A.J. could witness the end of the winged serpent.

"All the training really has paid off," Alex muttered who had witnessed the outside battle as well.

"We knew what to expect this time," Kaitlin said. The four of them continued to watch the battle through their HUD. "We had underestimated them when we first encountered them, and when we were defeating them for so long but now we know what to expect. We can fight them and their endless numbers."

"That's why not even their Klienestov are not so much a threat," Yuri chirped in.

"That, and we're using these platforms that the Guardians helped develop to target them," remarked Kaitlin.

The battle outside could be felt in the hangar. It felt like a storm approaching, except this time they were charging straight into the storm. The closer they got the more the ship rumbled from close-proximity explosions, and the firing of artillery cannons.

They still watched the battle and listened to the battle reports but the ship was still just entering the battle and destroying any threat. For the moment, the pack was able to prepare for the next battle. The wolf pack gathered near the back of the hangar with some of the other soldiers where extra supplies were gathered.

A.J. checked his gun and noticed that he had only used a small amount of his clip. Ejecting the clip, he pulled some extra ammunition and started to reload it. Entering each round into the clip, A.J. watched the battle outside. Every time a nearby ship gained an advantage and destroyed the nearby Creepers, another swarm of the enemy pressed another ship. It was an endless battle with no respite.

The projectile of another platform cannon caught the wolf's attention. He looked at the screen and it enlarged itself on that trajectory of that projectile. There was another Klienestov on the battlefield, and now that they knew about the platforms they were trying to dodge those deadly projectiles. However, when the projectile split, it still impacted on the Klienestov destroying two of its bulky limbs.

The creature reacted but something drove it forward at a suicidal velocity. Every smaller Creeper it ran into was killed by the impact. It seemed the Creepers were now settling for suicide runs; but several warships noticed it and fired their main cannons at the creature. It took several direct hits and was killed before it could reach the front lines.

However, from within the vines of the mouth of the creature emerged a winged serpent. It bolted forward toward Hyourasky Casa, where Lead General Vale was commanding.

Several ships fired at the creature but it dodged the majority of the projectiles and only suffered a few artillery rounds, which did not even slow it down. It was targeting their flagship.

Drach'n Breath had already realized this and the commander had ordered for the ship to intercept the creature. While Hyourasky Casa retereated, _Drach'n Breath_charged at the creature and its escorts. Artillery rounds blossomed around the creature, killing its escorts and damaging the creature itself, while the main cannon fired upon it.

A.J. realized that the creature was now heading straight for their ship, and they'd be back in the battle soon enough. Finishing reloading his clip, he straightened up and regrouped with his team.

The Creeper dodged the cannon projectiles when they were fired from long range, but it was easier to hit it now that it was closer. A direct hit from the main cannons of the carrier nearly ripped the creature in half.

The momentum of the creature kept going, but with it killed, each smaller Creeper it ran into slowed it down. That moment, something tiny ejected from the winged serpent.

There was a crash through the blast doors, and that tiny projectile breached the hangar of Drach'n Fury instantly. Sheer velocity caused crates to be overturned, and the wolf team and other soldiers to be thrown to the ground and dazed.

A.J. had been thrown to the ground and stumbled over a few crates, before landing on his back. He was dazed, not by the impact of being thrown to the ground, but by the shock of how much damage one tiny projectile could do. He stood with his team and shook off the shock while he surveyed the hangar. It was a mess, all originating from the point of impact. The blast doors were breached and destroyed, but the shields had activated to prevent any more loss of atmosphere. On the other side of the hangar where the projectile had landed was a mess of warped metal.

"Is everyone all right?" asked another soldier.

"Wolcott Pack, report in," demanded Alex. Each member of the pack sent an acknowledgement. The other soldiers seemed uninjured form the impact as well. There was only a lot of damage to the ship itself.

"Report," the commander of the vessel requested.

Alex responded but A.J. was more interested in the warped metal of the impact. A few other soldiers were also curious on what it was because any breach by a Creeper projectile could compromise the ship. Approaching the crash site, the wolf could see that the warped metal was still settling in as it creaked and groaned and shifted. But the warped metal did not only look like it was from an impact, the angles weren't as sharp and some of the metal was bent as if extreme heat had caused it to warp. But there was no heat other than the friction of that impact.

With weapon raised, A.J. slowly stepped forward with other soldiers flanking him. Yuri was with him but Kaitlin and Alex were still updating the commander.

The metal shifted slightly with a loud groan a moment before the metal screeched horribly. It all peeled back from the point of impact as easy as the flesh of fruit. The projectile was a being, a Creeper, with no sign of infection.

"Contact!" A.J. screamed. He fired immediately at the small scaly creature. "Contact! Perfected Infection!"

The rest of the soldiers all pulled the triggers of their weapons, and ballistic projectiles with plasma projectiles shredded into the warped metal but the creature dodged them and jumped out before immediately counterattacking.

A.J.'s voice rung out throughout the fleets with news of the first Perfected Infection on the battlefield had landed on Drach'n Breath. The fleets all knew what to do in the event of one of these creatures landing on a ship. Quarantine was immediately placed on Drach'n Fury. It was covered with extensive artillery fire to prevent Creepers from interfering, while nothing was permitted to leave.

The soldiers in the hangar jumped back the moment the Perfected Infection moved, which allowed the soldier that it targeted to dodge the first attack. The soldier counterattacked by pulling a sword, while the rest fired at the creature to keep it away from their fellow soldier.

Rather than retreat and buy time, the wolf pack and the other armored soldiers attacked. The Perfected Infection Creeper did not expect it and remained on the defensive, trying to dodge the barrage of fire and whenever it even flinched toward a soldier, the soldier would react, dodge and counterattack.

The Creeper attacked the wolf pack, targeting Yuri but the small wolf sidestepped and dodged. A.J. who had also predicted the move, was already in place with a plasma-edged sword to protect his brother. The moment Yuri dodged, A.J. swung his sword at the Creeper who saw the attack a moment too soon and was caught across one of its arms, cutting into the infected muscle.

In that instant through his visor, A.J. saw the surprise in the creature. It might have expected that taking over this ship would have been an easy task, but it certainly did not expect how much the soldiers of the UDAS have evolved to fight against the Creepers. Fighting the Creepers now had even turned into instinct for many of the soldiers.

The Creeper jumped back, still surprised that he was struck and injured. However, the rest of the soldiers fired at the creature as it moved back and gave no time for the creature to recover from its shock. The Creeper was even it by a few ballistic projectiles, and although they did not pierce its flesh, they certainly bruised and scratched it.

The Creeper was growing frustrated, and his attacks more desperate. He charged at one soldier, who dodged but quickly followed, and braved getting struck by a few more projectiles to land a hit on the soldier. The soldier did not expect it, and the armor was shattered at the impact. She landed back away from the Creeper with her vitals fluttering.

The Creeper kept is momentum and attack another nearby soldier, kicking his legs out from under him and likely breaking those bones.

The third soldier that the Creeper attacked dodged this time, and the Creeper had still suffered more hits, even one plasma round had struck it and burned its scaly flesh. A.J. fired short one-shot rounds at the Creeper, taking careful aim with his projectiles occasionally striking target but most were dodged.

The Creeper seemed to be getting frustrated that he was not winning as easily as he would have liked. He ducked behind one of the transport ships and seemed to be retreating for now. Maybe he was just going to go for the engines and infect them!

"Move forward," Alex ordered. The uninjured soldiers moved forward to flank around the drop ship. A.J. saw the Creeper move toward an exit of the hangar with blinding speed. Once the Creeper reached the closed door, the metal warped and peeled apart allowing passage for the alien.

Before an order could be given to pursue, a plume of flame emerged from the corridor and rose up toward the roof of the hangar. The sight caused the soldiers to stop and stay back from the door. The Creeper reemerged from it, with blackened burns on most of its body. It was reeling from the blast, weakened and surprised.

A.J. watched as it even expressed fear. It was known that these creatures had supernatural strength and speed, were near invincible but here is one that could was incapable of defeating a squadron of soldiers. Even if it did travel through the vacuum unprotected, the wolf had expected a greater challenge, and certainly for it not to express fear.

From the corridor walked out the mutated springhare, Nishant. He had arrived far quicker than expected from Hyourasky Casa. The Creeper seemed to know what Nishant was. Strange considering Nishant had only shown himself to one Perfected Infection before and that creature was killed rather quickly.

Nishant charged at the Creeper but it jumped back, and turned to flee again. This time it was heading for the same gaping wound it had created when it entered the ship.

Unexpectedly, the blast doors started to open for the creature. It didn't question and quickly breached through the shield out into open space.

Through the blast shield, A.J. watched the Creeper flee, but the moment it was clear form the ship it erupted in a explosion of fire.

Beyond the burning Creeper were three Guardian warships and several squadrons of single fighters. They were prepared for the Creeper. It had only landed on the ship a few minutes ago, but the fleets reacted in time to have it destroyed.

"Contact destroyed," a Guardian-accented voice reported. "All fleets return to formation."

A.J. watched the blast doors close again after the Guardian ships turned away from the Creeper that was burnt to ashes. There still was a battle to win though.
