#1 of Burying Bones: A CPT Side story (WIP)

The first chapter to my Canine Pokemon Tamer Side Story, Burying Bones. I'm tagging as I go, If there's a way to correct what I miss, go for it, this story is over 60 pages I don't have time to edit. The sex tags also don't apply to every chapter, but I want them all to be visible to the same group, so had to tag the pairings every time.

The warm breeze of summer filters through the trees, rustling the branches with its warm breath. Beneath the canopy of green and brown, a young woman walks with her companion. As the woman looks down at it, the puppy raises his head, showing off a set of gleaming fangs. His black and orange coat is well groomed and sleek, contrasting nicely with the patches of downy soft tan fur on his chest, head, belly, and paws. His tail wags constantly as he walks beside the woman, his handsome brush raised in a friendly manner. The woman reaches her hand down and ruffles his fur, earning a soft murr of approval from her companion. She adjusts her backpack, the neon pink multi-compartment bag given to her by one of the Professors along with her starter, Pokédex, pokéballs, and PokéNav.

"I'm glad we managed to come out here to the forest today, Arkanon. I was afraid we would miss picking the Mago berries. It looks like the trees are just ahead. I'll race you there Ark!" The woman says as she takes off running, Arkanon yipping in surprise before taking off after her. Her shoulder length auburn hair flies behind her as her hips sway, covered by a pair of blue denim shorts. Her modest chest bounces as she runs, the glitter on her light pink Pokéball shirt shimmering in the sunlight. Slowing down in front of a large tree, Arkanon looks up at the juicy berries in the branches, licking his lips with a soft pink tongue. The woman sees this and smirks, picking a berry and handing to to the puppy at her feet. Arkanon looks up at her and wags his tail before pouncing on the fruit and devouring it.

"I'm glad you like it so much, little glutton. You know you'll get fat if you eat too many of these berries, Ark. Then when you evolve, you'll be as big as a house." The woman giggles as she dodges a small jet of flame from the Growlithe's mouth. The woman takes a red device from her pocket and flips it open.

"Growlithe uses ember to inflict painful burns on its opponent, there is a 10% chance that being hit by the flame will cause a burn." The device speaks out loud in a mechanical voice. The woman smirks down at the now yipping Growlithe.

"Well Arkanon, my Pokédex says you know how to use Ember now. That's awesome, buddy. Anyway, what do you say we load up my backpack with some of these berries and head home? We should get there before dark if we don't run into any more of those disgusting bugs." The woman states, earning a nod from her companion. The two pick berries for hours and soon the pack is full and the pair is heading back into the forest.

A few miles away, a howl rips through the trees as a black and tan form is attacked and taken down by a black and blue blur. Arkanon hears the howl, but his trainer does not. Arkanon growls softly, his striped fur bristling as he barks his name in a threatening manner.

"Arkanon, what has gotten into you? Stupid fuzzball, you're barking at nothing again." The woman growls as she picks up the snarling Growlithe and carries him back to the house. As she closes the door a shout from another room gets her attention.

"Hey, Alexandra, you back already? I thought you would be gone for a few more hours." A feminine voice calls to her as a woman with long black hair and husky blue eyes walks around the corner, clad only in a pair of ice blue panties and a matching tank top.

"Saki would you put some clothes on! What if I had come home with another person? Would you be happy showing off everything to them?" Alex snarls as she pets Arkanon before putting the berries she picked away.

"Well, you know, this is my house too, sis. It's up to me if I prance around naked. As for showing off my body to people you bring home, depends on how good looking they are." Saki replies, smirking before catching the berry Alex throws at her chest and taking a bite of it. Saki grimaces with the taste of the berry.

"Alex, you couldn't have picked any Pecha berries? These ones taste like Pokémon shit." She yells before tossing the berry on the ground, only to have it be snatched up by the waiting Growlithe.

"Aren't you the eager little garbage disposal, Arkanon. Keep eating like that and you're gonna be the fattest Growlithe in history." Saki whispers at the Growlithe before he snarls at her and smacks her with his tail. The black haired beauty walks into another room, picking up the Skitty sleeping on her bed and hugging the little cat.

"Hello Princess, did you miss me?" Saki whispers to the sleepy Pokémon, earning a mew in return before the tiny pink kitten curls back up and goes back to sleep. Saki smiles at her, much preferring her feline friend to the fiery Growlithe her sister chose.

Hours pass as the two sisters and their Pokémon relax at home before a loud crash of thunder terrifies all members of the house. Torrential rain batters the house with a vengeance as Princess takes cover under the bed, soon joined by Arkanon. The two almost mortal enemies seem perfectly content sharing the underside of Saki's bed as a hiding spot during storms as the two shiver in fear.

"Oi, you two are useless. I hope we never have to face a Suicune, Tornadus, or any other storm-causing Pokémon, we're screwed if we have to use you two." Alex comments as she walks into her sister's room, earning a glare from Saki.

"You know I don't battle, Alexandra. Princess and I prefer contests to fighting, besides, this feels strange for a storm." Saki whispers, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end as another burst of thunder crashes through the trees.

"I'll be right back, Saki. Watch Ark for me, I'm going to get Thunderbuzz to see what's going on." Alex replies, referring to the Electabuzz she caught on her last attempt to go on a Pokémon journey before their parents died. As she grabs the Pokéball containing the electric type, Alex notices a pair of glowing blue eyes outside her window. She grabs the Pokéball and turns toward the window again, only to find the eyes gone.

"Saki, I think I saw something. When I looked out the window, there was a pair of eyes watching me; blue, glowing eyes." Alex chatters excitedly, releasing Thunderbuzz from his Pokéball, the electric type stretching and yawning before looking at Alex expectantly. Saki laughs at her.

"Alexandra Renee Arceanus, the only Pokémon I know of with blue glowing eyes is Lucario, and there aren't any of those in Johto. We have a red Gyarados; we have Lugia, Suicune, Raikou, Ho-oh, and Entei, but no Lucario. We don't even have Riolu or Torchic running around here. There's no possible way a wild Lucario was outside the window. You're welcome to go look, but I doubt you'll come back in one piece with this storm." Saki explains using Alex's full name like their mother used to when scolding them, her voice agitated with the storm. Alex glares at her older sister, turning around and walking out the door, Thunderbuzz hot on her heels.

"Fine then, Saki, I will, you aren't mom, and you didn't see what I did." Alex hisses before slamming the door and storming outside.

Outside the door, Alex slides to the ground, her head in her hands and tears running down her cheeks. She's no longer even thinking of the Pokémon, unable to focus on it due to the desire to see her parents once again. The Electabuzz pats her shoulder before he feels Alex wrapping her arms around him, just hugging him.

"Thunder, I miss how she used to be, before they died. She was fun, and loving, and we used to be able to sit in the same room without fighting like kids. I want my sister back, not this mothering nightmare she's become." Alex sobs into Thunder's fur, the electric type sighing as it motions for her to get up and go back inside.

"Alex, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you like Mom did. I just miss her, and I want her back." Saki tries to explain before seeing Alex glaring at her; she quickly shuts up and walks back into the room, looking at the green and white Pokéball on her dresser.

Arkanon nuzzles Saki's hand before running into Alex's room, jumping on her bed and curling up in her lap. Thunderbuzz was recalled into his Pokéball, leaving room for the fire type on the bed. Alex wraps her arms around the puppy's furry neck and holds him close, feeling his warmth flowing through her body.

Saki picks up the green and white Pokéball, the colors painted on when she went through a Pokéball design class, the ball holds her first Pokémon, and the only one her parents gave her when she was with them still. Pressing the button, Saki feels calmed as the red light fades to reveal a Gardevoir standing in the room, her human appearance soothing Saki's loneliness. Saki falls into the Gardevoir's embrace, allowing the green skinned beauty to hold her close for a little while.

"Saki, why did you call me out? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Gardevoir's feminine voice questions as she looks at her trainer, Saki's only reply to stare up at her and cry harder.

"Jade, I'm so sorry, but I've fucked up again. I keep hurting Alex; I only want her to grow up and learn to be a good person! She's my sister, but I keep yelling at her, I keep hurting her and she keeps running from me." Saki sobs into Gardevoir's arms as the Pokémon holds her tightly, whispering soothingly to her and using psychic waves to calm her.

"That's alright Saki, you know I'm here for you. You know I'll always be here for you." Jade whispers softly as she holds her trainer close and watches the room protectively.

In the other room, Alex is clinging to her Growlithe's fur, crying about how mean her sister is and how she wishes their parents were still alive. Arkanon is snuggling and nuzzling her in an attempt to soothe her into sleep. Alex falls asleep with her arms wrapped around Arkanon's body, causing the puppy Pokémon to murr contentedly in his sleep as her hand brushes across his sheath.
