#3 of Adventures in Morphia

Well the guild war breaks out, and it turns into a bloody affair. Personally, I think this chapter was a tad rushed. I will try to set better pacing in future chapters.

Episode 3: The Guild War Challenge

Despite Alex's enthusiasm to begin, the two teams did not immediately begun slugging away at each other. Rather instead, they began to have an argument over who I apparently belonged to.

"Enough!" shouted two voices simultaneously, both sounding quite angry by the lack of progress made in the argument. Both teams looked behind them to see a new Pokemorph from each side approaching. Judging by how both teams obeyed their command, I could easilly guess they were likely the leaders here. The one from our side was coming straight out of the guild hall and looked to be a female Espeon.

Espeon was one of my evolution paths, a psychic type easily recognized by its pink fur, red gemstone in its forehead, and its tail having split into 2 tips along the end. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised to find an Espeon leading the charge, considering the theme of the group's coloration. As an evolved form, she was bigger and more defined than I was. She stood about 5'7 tall, with a sizable, B-Cup and sexy, curving hips. Some of the other morphs went wide eyed at the attractive female walking out before them.

The Espeon was one of the least clothed members of the guild I had encountered so far, if you could even call her uniform clothing! It was a hot pink bikini tied in the back around her breasts, and on the sides of her hips. If not for the glossy material that reflected the sunlight, I might have thought she was naked with how it blended against her fur.

"I am the Guild Mistress of Pink Power, and I understand you wish to incite a Guild War!" the Espeon declared sternly. "Who is your guild master? This demands a response by the leaders in person!" She demanded.

"That would be me!" Said the voice of the other team's new arrival. I gasped when I saw who and what the voice belonged to. It was a morph, of course, but not just any more. There, among the small army of fairly common and rare species of pokemorph, stood a Moltres.

In the world of Pokemon, there exist some species who are so powerful and so rare, they are known as Legendary. Pokemorphs who shared their qualities were even more rare, and often times even more powerful! The Moltres was one such Legendary. A fiery bird type Pokemon who's body appeared to be made of living flames.

The Moltres was dressed only in a pair of fiery orange pants and ebony black boots. His upper body was left exposed and I could see that he wasn't just any Moltres, but a shiny one at that. His body appeared to be comprised out of bright pink fire, with fiery orange feathers along his wings and scalp. As a Morph, his wings grew from his back in angelic fashion, while a pair of arms with a second set of talons gave him the functionality of having a pair of hands.

A shiny Pokemon was even more rare, and are recognizable as having a different color scheme from a typical member of the species. Often, they are even more powerful than a normal variation. Unfortunately they were very, very hard to come by, and if I remember correctly, there was a 1 in about 20,000 chance of ever seeing one. To see a shiny legendary in person, this was likely going to be the only time I'd ever have such an opportunity.

The Moltres was quite a deal larger than our Espeon. He stood almost 8 feet tall, a firm 6 pack of abs, and buff arms and legs. Even his wings were enormous. When folded over his back, they were almost as long as the Espeon was tall.

"You kidnapped one of my recruits and I demand he be returned to me." The Moltres ordered.

"It was my understanding that he hadn't even begun to fill out any paper work." The Espeon replied calmly, "Besides, he's already signed on with us for a week long trial membership. You can't make any claims to him until after the week is over." She added.

"One of your agents didn't give him time to sign any paper work." The Moltres responded, anger rising in his voice, "He attacked two of my recruiters unprovoked, and then lead that Eevee back to his booth to fill out the forms!" He said, pointing directly at me, and causing most of the assembled morphs to turn to face me. It suddenly made me feel very self conscious.

"Your guild is operating illegally within Morphia and you were planning to trick him into joining your organization." Alex spoke up, "He was straight off the ship and knows nothing of how the guilds function. I was simply helping to explain the situation." He added.

"To hell with the Guild charters! Not all of us can get accepted for approval!" The Moltres shouted, his fiery body appearing to glow brighter with his anger.

"You mean you don't want to share 30% of your profits with the Morphia Guild Association!" Alex shouted back, electricity once again crackling around his body. The amount of energy surging around him was producing an audible hum, and I could feel my fur standing on end.

"Alex." The Espeon said flatly, causing him to slowly relax as his body receded. "Thank you," She said before turning back to the Moltres, "He has a point. You are operating illegally. I suspect the reason you demand a guild war is because you know full well the courts will dismiss your case outright, so you're forced to resolve the issue yourself.

At this, the Moltress did what I could only guess was a frown, as his beak was not exactly flexible enough to provide much in the way of mouth expressions. She was right, it seemed, no justice system would actually declare that a criminal organization had the right to claim membership of someone. The idea was ridiculous, so the law was on our side!

"I'm taking him as payment for attacking my recruiters and that's final." The Moltres responded, as his team began to advance towards me. What happened next was so fast that I didn't even register what occured until a few seconds afterward.

The Espeon suddenly flashed with an intense aura of pink energy and all of the Shining Moltres team aside from their leader was blasted backwards as if they had been hit with an explosion. Landing flat on the ground and just as bewildered about the situation as I was.

"Next time you pull a stunt like that, I'll do more than strike at their bodies." The Espeon warned, the aura around her fading as the Moltres looked behind him to see his guild members struggling to get to their feet, about half of them rubbing their heads and eyes, trying to figure out what hit them.

"You bitch!" The Moltres fumed as his team stood back up. His body now glowing so hot, I could feel the heat from my distance near the guild hall.

"Well actually I'm a vixen, technically." The Espeon replied smugly, and it seemed the two of them were going to start trading blows right there. Then, remarkably, the Moltres suppressed his anger, the heat dying down as he chuckled deeply.

"Alright then, we'll settle this with a battle." he said, "My 10 best agents, vs your 10 best agents. The loser must ban the kid from ever joining their guild." he proposed. "It doesn't necessarily force him into my custody, but it means you'll never get your paws on him either." He added.

"Fine, but only our agents are allowed. Any direct participation by the guild masters is a sign of forfeiting the challenge." The Espeon said, "And I'm a psychic type. I'll know if you're cheating." She added, her voice sounding firm and threatening.

"It just so happens the 10 members gathered here are my strongest agents, and I assume those are yours." She said, pointing to the other morphs gathered about the area. The Moltres nodded in response. "My strongest members are trained to gather with me in the event of any Guild War challenge." She explained.

In addition to Alex, the other members of the Pink Power Guild who had gathered to the challenge were comprised of a Miltank, a Tauros, a Nidoking, a female Dragonite, a male Persian, a female Weavile, a male Lucario, a male Machamp, and a male Sandshrew, who I recognized as Tsuna from earlier before.

Competing for the Shining Moltres team were a male Scizor, a Froslass, a female Charizard, a male Rhyhorn, a female Dusklops, a male Infernape, a male Muk, a female Typhlosion, a male Houndoom, and a male Marowak.

From the looks of it, much of the Shining Moltres team consisted of fire types, where as our team was more diversified. Still, we had no water types to counteract their fire types.

"Since you are the challenger, we have the right to claim the battlefield." The Espeon said. "I will chose Tundra Valley." She declared, and shortly after, all of the morphs as well as myself were surrounded by a dome of light. I looked to see that the guild mistress was holding a badge which was glowing and spreading out in a dome shaped aura. In a flash, we were all gone, and I now felt an intense sensation as freezing cold air swept across my body. Even the uniform failed to block the sudden temperature drop as we were now standing inside a vast field with snow and ice stretching on in all directions!

Thankfully, my thick fur was providing some degree of extra protection, but many of Pink Power's team did not have such luxuries, and their outfits were very revealing. Despite that, not one of them seemed to even so much as tense from the sudden exposure to the cold. Even the Machamp who was had bare skin was standing in a pink speedo, as his only means of clothing, the rest of him exposed to the weather. Yet he kept a focused glare upon the enemy team, both pairs of arms crossed over his chest.

"An ice zone, with a dragon on your team? Are you serious!?" the Moltres laughed, the rest of his team joining in as they mocked the Dragonite.

"This is why you Wild Guilds will never be a match for legitimate guilds like ours." The Dragonite said, "You believe all it takes to win is raw power and type advantages. You never put any stock in developing yourselves." She added.

"My Team Roster is as follows!" The Espeon began, " Alex Light serving as my Pikachu. Tsuna Sands as my Sandshrew. Bessie and Bucky Pastures as my Miltank and Tauros sibling duo. Princess Dragonheart as my Dragonite. Jake Steel as my Machamp. Samantha Frigid as my Weavile. James Golden as my Persian. And last it Aaron Spirithigh as my Lucario." She finished off the list.

I wasn't sure I could remember all those names straight off the bat, but I tried to learn them. Unfortunately, my concentration was broken when the Moltres began to name off his own team roster.

"My team consists of Glave serving as my Scizor." he began, " Scythe as my Houndoom. Cleaver as my Charizard. Mace as my Marowak. Lance as my Rhyhorn. Dagger as my Dusklops. Cannon as my Infernape. Whip as my Froslass. Katana as my Typhlosion. And finally Axe as my Muk!" He finished.

"Not their real names, I take it?" The Espeon questioned, sounding rather unimpressed, "I suppose that's to be expected. When you're working illegally, you should probably use code names to hide your identities." she shrugged.

Espeon had even shorter fur than my own, and yet she was doing much better in the cold than I was. She turned to look at me, giving an apologetic smile as she moved to stand beside me.

"I'm sorry to bring you here." She said, "But this fight is about you, after all. Just stand next to me, I'll protect you." and with that, a small globe of pink energy surrounded us both, and I felt the cold stop abrubtly. She was using her psychic powers to produce a shield for me!

"The battle war ends when all of one side has been knocked out, or the Guild Masters surrender!" The Moltres declared loudly, stepping back behind his team as our leader began to do the same, and I followed her, so as to not be caught outside the shield.

"Begin!" she ordered, and then the chaos started.

No matter how girly the Pink Power Guild may have dressed, they immediately made it clear that none of them were the timid sissies they might appear to be. Everyone of them started off with devastating power attacks. Alex pointed with his fingers and shot another blast of lightning from them, performing his Thunder attack. The loud boom that came from the attack was almost deafening.

I watched as the lightning struck the one known as Mace and thought for sure he would go down. But I was met with a surprise. The lightning seemed to be absorbed by the Marowak and dissipated harmlessly. Judging by the angry scowl on Alex's face, I could tell that wasn't supposed to happen.

"Its a special ability called Lightning Rod." the Espeon said to me calmly, "It draws in and absorbs an enemy's electrical based attacks and increases the user's special attack with each absorption. Alex won't be able to use any electrical based powers while Mace remains active." She explained, yet sounding perfectly at ease during the otherwise worrying circumstances.

"Thanks for the charge, dumb ass!" Mace shouted, rushing to club Alex with the bone he was using for a weapon. Alex made some kind of grunting sound as his tail started to glow and then whipped around, slamming his tail into the Marowak's face. I recognized the Iron Tail attack and could see Mace's head cock to the side as it was struck by the impact, sending him crashing to the ground and skidding across the snow.

"Like I said, type advantages don't mean anything to a skilled enough fighter!" the Dragonite known as Princess repeated, taking to the air as she looked down on the enemy team. She held one arm out, fingers spread as she grinned with the anticipation of what she was going to do next. "Let's see how you like me-" But she was cut off when a figure blitzed out of the crowd.

"Cut!" a blurry red figure shouted, and before I could register what had happened, Glave was in the air and Princess was falling to the ground. I gasped when I saw blood dripping from one of Glave's outstretched pincers.

When Princess hit the ground, there was a large strike of red going all the way across her chest, and her uniform was shredded open, revealing her upper body exposed.

"My special ability is called Technician!" Glave boasted from up in the air, "It increases the power of any of moves with less than 60 attack power by 50%. That brings my Cut up to a whopping 75 attack power!" He pulled his arm over his chest, licking the blood from his pincer as he glared at the dragoness.

"Now let's see how you like my Metal Claw!" He shouted, as he went crashing down towards her. But to both our surprise, Princess opened her mouth and a massive eruption of energy was fired upward, engulfing the Scizor completely.

For a moment, the light reached such intensity that I couldn't even see him inside it, and thought he may have been incinerated. But once the energy started to fade and the light cleared, it revealed the trembling, panting form of Glave, holding both arms over his face and chest. His clothing had been completely destroyed, and his steel hard carapace had now been covered in scorches and blemishes.

"Hyper Beam." The Espeon giggled, "An extremely powerful technique that can defeat most enemies in one shot. But it has a draw back, the user is left exhausted and has to rest immediately after using it." She explained. Sure enough, Princess was struggling to regain her stamina as I saw her holding her chest with both arms. Glave was surprisingly still functioning, but that attack had knocked him for a loop.

I also noticed that Mace was getting back up from the ground, not having been completely taken out by Alex's Iron Tail. However, Tsuna was already taking precautions to keep him down again, and before the Marowak could grab his bone, the Sandshrew dove at him from behind and unleashed a high speed flurry of claw attacks to his backside.

The attack was Fury Swipes, a claw attack that struck an opponent anywhere from 2 to 5 times. Normally, the attack was a fairly basic and weak move. But with Tsuna's level of training, it had a much greater impact. As Mace collapsed to the ground once more, there were several bleeding cuts dug into his back, some of which would likely result in permanent scarring.

The battle continued on with both sides trading blows. Shining Moltres was quite powerful, to be sure. Their fighting style was incredibly violent, but for every brutality they dished out, Pink Power made sure to throw it right back at them. The battle raged on for almost half an hour, and by that time, the fight had worn down to only a handful of competitors.

Alex's tight fighting uniform had been destroyed by repeated abuse, and now he was standing fully nude in the snow. Tsuna's outfit was tattered rags, but still hanging on. His thick armored body had been able to withstand a great deal of punishment, but it was clear by his heavy breathing that he was growing exhausted.

Alex and Tsuna were the only members of Pink Power still able to fight, but thankfully, they had the advantage of numbers. Only Axe remained. The Muk's sludge body had been able to absorb the impact of many attacks and reform itself, but he had still taken damage, and his stamina was depleting.

The Moltres wasn't looking very happy with the odds of victory, I could tell by the way he was glaring at Axe with clenched fingers that he knew the battle was already decided. Yet if he attacked, he would forfeit the match. Alex and Tsuna both charged in for a combination attack. Tsuna delivered a Fury Swipes attack, hacking the Muk to splattered pieces on the snow, and then dove out of the way just in time for Alex to unleash one last Thunder attack which engulfed the smaller portions of Axe's body. The goo quivered and screamed from the pain, and then dissolved into smoking puddles. I could only assume he had fainted, but from the looks of it, they might have actually killed him.

"Pink Power Wins." Said the Espeon proudly, "Now you can't lay claim to him anymore." She added, wrapping an arm around me and pulling me closer to her side. I was about to celebrate, when the not so unexpected happened. Shining Moltres' guild master attacked.

In a blur of searing fire, he slammed his way through Alex and Tsuna, sending them crashing to the snow as the last of their strength faded, and they passed out. The Moltres was heading straight for me and the Espeon. The guild mistress, still holding me with one arm, raised her free hand with her fingers spread and brought it down in a pressing motion to the waist high.

The protective shield surrounding us vanished and immediately the cold air blew back into my fur, sending chills down my spine. Moltres, however, had bigger problems to worry about. As if a ton of bricks had landed on top of him, he crashed to the ground with a loud smack. All momentum and speed he had came to an abrupt halt, not even leaving a skid mark into the snow. It would have been funny, if I wasn't pumped full of adrenaline and worrying about what would have happened.

"I said you lost. Now get the hell off my property!" The guild mistress shouted, her calm and friendly personality having vanished and replaced by rage. With that, she flung her free arm into the air and all the members of Shining Moltres, the guild master included were sent rocketing off into the sky. I watched them until they became little twinkles off in the distance before the mistress released me and turned smiling.

"By the way," She said, "My name's Lily Auroa, but most in Pink Power just call me Guild Mistress." She introduced herself. She then turned to her team who had been knocked out and held her badge up.

"Guild Hall Emergency Room!" She ordered, and with that, they vanished in a flash of light. "Its too bad you're not a Glaceon, or you'd be right at home here." Lily joked as she turned to me with a smile.

"I... don't really have a lot of combat experience." I replied, rubbing my head, trying to ignore the cold, "I haven't even considered evolving yet." I added. The guild mistress giggled as I explained the situation, making me blush under my fur again.

"Well we all started that way too." She said, "Power comes with training and patience. But evolving does wonders." Lily folded her arms over her chest, hugging her breasts in the process, "When I first evolved, my power exploded by nearly 10 times my Eevee form. It took some adjusting to, but I managed to get it under control, and you've seen the results." She explained.

"Besides, you can't really do much as an Eevee, can you? You're move set is restricted." she said, before holding up her badge. "Guild Hall" She said, and in a flash we were both gone from the freezing cold battlefield.

'Evolve...' I thought while we were being transported. 'It's true, I would get a lot of cool new moves!' the only question was, which should I become?
