Arlen jerked awake, fur shiny and cold with sweat, the sudden nightmare he had experinced still vividly seared into his retinas.

Usually he dreamed of the faces he had lost over the years as a mercenary, or the faces he had killed. Now it had been neither one of them.

The boy huanted him even in his sleep with those white sad eyes.

He had tried counting sheep. No effect.

He had tried drinking warm milk. No effect what so ever.

Not even the exhausting, passionate sex with Tam helped. It was damn good, though.

And Arlen realized something, right there in the sweaty, sweltering darkness. He had never kissed Jorek to prove to him that he liked other males. It had purely been to distract himself.

Arlen let out a quiet groan.

"I'm fucked up!" He hissed.

He tensed and sucked in a breath between his teeth when he felt movement just beside him; the soft, downy feeling of anothers fur brushing against his side.

Seconds later, Tamra's morning face slowly floated up from the white sheets, contorted into an annoyed glare.

He gave her a sheepish grin and batted his eyelashes at her.

"Good morning, kitty cat!"

She growled angrily in reply. "I want to strangle you right now!" She said so fiercly that if he hadn't known her for so long he would actually worry for his safety.

He smirked at her.

"Didn't know you were so kinky!" He teased.

Tamra huffed, and shifted onto her back and glared at celling.

"Ahhh, the legendary Silent Treatment, huh?" Arlen teased again while shifting so he was laying on his side and supporting his weight with a elbow.

"What was the nightmare about, Arl?" She turned he head side-ways so she could look directly into his golden eyes.

He froze under the thin sheets.

"I don't know what you're talkin' about, Tam. Good night." He turned around on his side so he was facing away from her. Tamra huffed.

"Oh no, nuh-uh, that shit isn't working on me!" Tamra said before she started to crawl her way over to Arlen.

Arlen grunted as the full weight of Tamra's slim, athletic body crashed unexpectedly down onto him.

"The hell, Tam? Knock it off," Arlen said and tried to shrug her of, but to no avail, she was glued to his back.

"I'm not letting go until you talk to me!"

Arlen sighed through his nose in annoyence. He craned his head into an awkward angle to look at her.

"Okay. Just get off me." He finaly relented.

Seconds later Tamra's weight disappeared from Arlen's back. It had not been totally uncomfortable, her laying on top of him.

"Turn around. I want to see that handsome face of yours". Arlen laughed at that, ony to realize seconds later that her words were sincere.

He slowy, unsuerly turned around, bed sheets rusling as he did so, until he was gazing into her beautiful green eyes.

Tamra was staring just as intensely back at him.

"That boy freaks me out!" He finally said after a pause.

Tamra didn't answer right away, she instead gently trailed a finger over the white scar on his cheek which was stark and luminous in the darkness.

Something seeped into the touch. Affection, something protective almost, Arlen noted.

"I know." She said while peering deeply into his eyes. Even though she damn well knew how uncomfortable that made him.

This time, however is wasn't so uncomfortable. It almost felt soothing.

Arlen slid his paws under the covers and grasped Tam's hips before he pulled her firmly against him.

"Do you really believe what they told us, about the boy, I mean?" Arlen said softly while making circels with his paws on Tam's hips.

She shifted automatically a bit closer to him, and when their lower bodies met, they both let out quiet gasps.

"You thinking about something dirty, Arl?" Tamra teased when she felt how the black furred tiger gave a unintentional jerk with his muscular hips.

"Heh, when do I not think about dirty things, huh?" Arlen chuckled back.

Tamra smirked in reply, before she closed in and kissed him.

But just as both of them got really turned on, a sound rang through the room.

Knock!

Knock!

Arlen disconnected from Tam's lips with a snarl, threw away the covers and stomped to the door.

He unlocked it with an angry click, and wrenched it open.

"Yes!" He snarled with black cheeks flamming red from arousal.

He bitterly regreted it, however, when he saw who stood betwen him and a roll in the sack with Tam.

Sala stood before him, small and petite if compared to himself, dressed up all in black today too. A long sleeved cotton sweater that followed her form nicely, a pair of black jeans and a pair of high heels. All black.

Along with it she wore thin golden bracelets and a necklace, that tinkled with the smallest movement she made.

"First: Don't speak that way to me. Ever. At least if you value your life. Second: You guys better hurry if you want some breakfast, Jorek has nerly eaten all of it."

She said all of this with a uninterested voice, as if she didn't care about them or anything else.

She seemed to have said her part, beacuse she turned on her heel and with a straight but graceful back, walked away.

Arlen scratched his head and muttered that he would never understand women. Ever, before he turned back into the room's gloom to get him and Tam ready for breakfast.

It nerly took the two felines twenty minutes to find the breakfast table, and when they did find it, Arlen was not happy.

Fate must like fucking with me, or she just have a very cruel sense of humor Arlen tought bitterly.

It was the same table from last night, only know it had more than one person at it.

It was a bitter irony indeed.

Azuka was leaning against the sink, a little white ceramic plate rested in one of her paws, and in the process of taking a bite of her sandwich. A cup of freshly brewed coffee rested beside her.

John was sitting beside Jorek, eating with the fast grace of a veteran who had seen countless battles, and yet he seemed to be able to take the time to taste the food too.

Cassandra was happily nibbling away on a toast with cheese and tomatoes on it.

Sala silently took her place at the table without so much as a 'Good Morning', and Arlen brifly wondered if she was the anitosocial type.

"But for God's sake lad stop fidgeting! Come, sit down and have some breakfast and coffee!" John encouraged warmly.

Squirmishly, the muscular black tiger did as asked. However, he took it as a command, and when Arlen accidentally made eye contact with the older feline, he saw that John was aware of it.

Self-consciously, Arlen chose a chair, dragged it out and sat down.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw how Tamra took the chair beside him.

John had just finished his meal and was wiping his muzzle with a tissue, when Azuka coughed demonstratively.

John turned to his wife and quirked an eyebrow. "What?" He shrugged his big shoulders in confusion.

Azuka rolled her eyes and said, "If you won't tell him, then I will!" She turned to Arl, and he could feel how his stomach twisted together anxiously under the doctor's intense gaze.

He pushed his shoulders back and sat even straighter than before and waited with something akin to great trepidation, not that he would ever admit it.

The atmosphere in the room froze over and hardened.

The fur on everyones necks stood up in response to the rising tension that slowly filled the room, like invisible water. And soon it would drown them all.

John finally broke the suffocating silence.

"Our organiazion was founded after the Second World War by four soldiers, who under the war where captured by an Nazi organizaion, and unrestrainedly experimented on." John slowly rose from the table and started to walk around it, blue tissue still in paw.

"We can only guess what it could have been like..." His quite yet strong voice bore on the air, and everyone listened, spell-bound by the seriousness of it all.

He stopped in front of Arlen, and the later felt how years of military traning compelled him to stand before the senior soldier.

"After months, of what we can only asmue, horrific hours of pain, the four manage to escape, thanks to most likely their new paranormal powers. They may have been from different countries, but they all had one thing in comon: A unique gene in their bodies.

John glanced at Arlen, wanting to see if the black furred feline was listening. Arlen looked attentively at the older fur, but his face was far too neutral and didn't show if he believed John or not.

John glanced away from Arl and continued.

"Aglaya, a lioness born in Russia, became a powerful Telekinetic, being able to lift and destroy things with the power of her mind." John cleared his throat before he continued.

"Aileen, a Irish young leopardess, too young to be in the army at that time, became gifted with the power of Mind Control, controlling beings trought sheer force of will." John finished.

He rumbled and scrathed his chin before he started again.

"James, a dark furred tiger from America, became gifted with destructive power of Pyrokinesis, the power to generate and control fire with the mind. Ironically enough, he was also the most destructive of the four."

He glanced at Arlen quickly again.

"Matthew, who became gifted with strong Telepahtic powers, able to read the thoughts of others, was not suited for the war at all, and should never really have been in it. He liked to read, and weapons terrified him, but war changes people...And I guess that it finally changed him, too..."

Everyone had been absolutely silent through John's tale. But now they shifted slightly, afraid what the black tiger and his companion would think and say about what they just had heard. The tension had now reached its absolute apex.

Arlen sat down again, crossed his arms over his chest with a sour and irritated look. Or maybe it was confusion.

"How the hell did you pass the psychic check?!" Arlen said.

"And I wonder how you passed school...Oh, wait you didn't!" Jorek retorted with a clipping tone and a sharp fanged smile.

John glared at Jorek from the corner of his eye. "Jorek, that is enough," he said.

"Do you even know how to spell your own name?" Jorek continued, not at all stopped by the serious tone from his superior seconds earlier.

"Jorek I said enough!" John snarled, temper finally flaring.

Something akin to fear flickerd in the white tiger's blue eyes and he took a step back, but he still bore a smug grin.

Arlen gritted his teeth and tried not to let his annoyance shine through, as always with the younger tiger and his stupid antics and jokes. Instead, he reached over the table and took a small basket full of garlic bread to angrily chew on.

As he chewed with more force then what was necessary, one black cheek bulging, Arlen suddenly became aware of everyones eyes staring on him.

"What?" He wondered, with bits of bread falling from his mouth. He saw how all the females at the table grimashed their muzzles in disgust.

"You own all of us an apology too, you know!" Sala snarled darkly.ยจ

Arlen turned at her with a expression that was just as angry as her voice had been. His golden eyes turned into a sharp glare.

"You actually believe him!?" He asked with disbelief.

"Yes. I do." She replied, her voice cut him down to the bone with its coldenss.

"There is much that you don't understand yet...give it some time!" Azuka urged saintly.

"Unfortunately, time is not something we have right now! Either you're in or out!" John said with a clipping tone, and Arlen tried not to growl when John pointed at him.

"I don't expect you to believe this, but what I do expect of you, Blacktiger, is that you keep your thoughts and and opinions to yourself and do as you're told!" John growled.

He suddenly turned smug, though.

"And if you want proof, here it is!" He said and curled his fist in front of Arlen's face.

At first he believed that John actually was just a crazy old fart, that was until the flames bloomed out over his paw.

He could feel the heat; hot air against his face. He could see how the air rippled from the flame's flickering movements. He didn't hear Joreks laughter at all. He could only stare, morbidly hynotized by the orange and golde flames that danced and licked on and around the lion's paw.

Arlen followed the flames with his eyes when John moved his paw away from his face, closed it again.

The paw closed around the flames and choked them, trails of grey smoke slithred like small grey, etheral snakes from the spaces and openings of the paw.

John's paw didn't seem to have taken any damange, no burns at all, and all the fur was still there.

John's face turned into a smirk.

"You believe me now Blacktiger?"

Arlen didn't know what to say, his gaze was still fixed one the paw that a few seconds ago was crowned and coverd in flames.

His only reply was a choked noice at the back of his throat.

John burst into rich laughs.

"Hahaha! You'll get used to it kid, trust me, after a few weeks here and you have seen what some of us can do here, you'll think that is something to be spechless over!" He then clapped Arlen as fondly as before on the shoulder.

"Us!?" Arlen said before he could stop himself. "You mean there is more people who can do...what the fuck you just did!?"

John rolled his muscular shoulders in a light shrug. "Come on, Blacktiger! You think I'm the only one who can do that?"

Arlen didn't answer, he just dragged a paw over his face.

"Everyone here can do something, more or less..."

Arlen swallowed the sudden lump in his throat.

"Like what?" He actually didn't want to know.

"Lift things with their mind..." He glanced at Azuka and Arlen saw it.

"Read minds..." He continued and looked at Cassandra.

"And some, like me, generate and control fire with their mind!"

"That's all?" Arlen tried to sound as noncalant as he could, and he saw how a fond glint lit up the lion's eyes for a second.

"Maybe, if you don't have any questions?" He said with a slow motion of a paw.

"Nope, None at all!" Arlen hurried to reply.

John gave off another of those deep chuckles of his. Warm rolling chuckles, the comeforting kind.

He suddenly stopped mid-chuckle, however, and his ears stood up in sudden alert, as a sound slowy filled the air.

It was the fast-paced sound of running feet.

When Danny rouned the wall's corner, red-faced and flushed out of breath, the older furs didn't need to be told that something was wrong, they all instinctively knew.

"What has happned, Danny?" John immediately cut to the case.

After a few puffs of necessary breath, the Dalamtian huffed out, "Some guys from Sector A came into that boy's room, woke him up and took him to the Interrogation Room..." Danny finished mekly.

"What!? I told everyone to let him sleep as long as he wanted!" Azuka snarled and pulled her lips up, displaying her fangs in anger.

"I tried to stop them...they broke my arm..." Danny said carefully.

Azuka squinted her violet eyes in confusion, untill she saw the way the young canine was cradeling his right arm. His eyebrows were pulled sharply together in pain.

"That's it, I have pulled my punches with those boys, but this was the last drop, this was more than enough, this has to stop!" She hissed, even more angry then before, while still gently examing Danny's arm.

"Can someone tell me what the fuck is going on?" Arlen said with folded arms.

"Oh yeah, sorry about that, Blacktiger." John rubbed his neck sheepishly.

"The base is divided into four Sectors: A, B, C and D." Azuka continued, all the while keeping her focus on the poor Dalamtian's fractured limb.

"So where are you guys then? You must be pretty high up on the chain if you can do...The stuff you can do, right?" Arlen asked with a motion of his paw.

"Ehh well, hehe, actually..." John lauged embarrassedly and rubbed his neck again. His face bore an equaly chagrined grin.

"We are in Sector D." Azuka finished, and didn't look in the least ashamed of it, the same could not however be said for her husband.

"So, you guys are the weakest of the uh...folks here?"

"Actually, the correct word you're looking for is 'Losers', but we avoid that word and others like it , since it puts a small and minor dent in our complete and utter awsomeness!" Jorek shot in.

Arlen rolled his eyes, snuffled and desided that he would not comment on that, for everyone's sake.

"I don't want to desturb your little game of Twenty Questions or anything, but shouldn't we see if the boy is alright?" Sala suddenly said tersely

Just as the words had left the female Jaguar's mouth, Azuka stood up from keeling position in front of Danny. She gave the darker furred female a quick glance of acknowledgment from over her shoulder.

"Let's go. If I know those boys right, we won't have much time." Azuka replied with her usual calmness present, but now with a cold edge to her voice, which made a chill creep up on Arlen's spine.

As the group grew closer to the room, there was not doupt that there was a great argument going on, and if the upset voices where any indication, a pysical fight wheren't far from breaking out.

"I said I didn't want to talk to you!" The boy's clear voice cut through morning's hazy air like a sharp knife. It was filled with many diffrent emotions, but anger shone brightest.

Azuka slammed the door open, much to Arlen's obvious surprise. Who knew that she was so strong?

The furs in the one-way-mirror-room became so startled when the female Snow Leopard stormed in, that all three of the intruders froze on the spot.

They where all wolves, one a black color, one grey and the last one was brown.

Arlen pulled his lips up and into a snarl, a furious growl rumbling deep in his chest, the annoyence from before sharpened into dark anger.

The boy was sitting at the table, same as the day before, and had a fixed glare on the tabletop.

"Are you okey?" Azuka asked him, but he didn't answer at all, just continued his fixated glaring on the table, almost as if he was glaring at something under the table and beyond the empty space of the room.

She turned swiftly, the white robe fluttering out behind her. "What have you done to him!?" Her voice was furious and cuting.

The black wolf rolled his eyes, and Arlen felt that he wanted to snatch him up by the scruff of his neck and choke him.

"We just woke him up and said that we wanted to ask some questions, chill Azuka!" The black wolf snorted.

"You are not authorized to do that!" She immediately retorted.

The black wolf started to sputtred some garbish, before he could finish it however, Azuka snarled, grabbed him by his military jaket's collar, and slamed him into the wall.

She leaned in close to his face, violet eyes black with rage. "Listen here, you little ass-wipe, I neither have the time nor the patience to keep up with your bullshit, read my lips: If I find out that you have been doing shit like this before, I'll make you pay."

The black wolf didn't look so smug and confidant any longer. His eyes where wide and his ears were pricked forward in alert.

"What's more, does he look healthy to you?" Azuka made a calm gesture towards the boy, who sat in the same position as before, unmoving, like a cemtery statue.

"I let him sleep as long as he wants too for a reasion, you stupid cockmonkey! Even if you only want to ask him questions, You don't have to wake him up so damn early, and here's the deal: don't fuck with my patients, ever, becuse if you do I'll fuck you up."

"Are we clear so far?" She quirked an eyebrow at him, to which the wolf eagerly noded.

"Good. Now let's make one thing clear, once and for all. If I catch you boys doing this again, I'll grab as scalpel and I'll disfigure you guys so badly that your own mothers won't even be able to recognize you...are we clear?" She finally said, her voice was far to calm.

"Y-yes." Came the shivering reply.

"Good. NOW GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY SECTOR, YOU LITTLE PIECES OF SHIT!" Azuka shouted suddenly. The trio of canines quickly started to make for the door, when it slamed shut, semingly all by itslef.

"One second though," Azuka said with her back turned from the door, and the three wolves.

"Who broke his arm?" The words were said with and ice-cold calmness, and yet they portrayed her anger perfectly clear. She sighed.

When one of the wolves started to stutter forth an answer she slowly turned around.

"I said: Who. Broke. His. Arm?" The words where said slowly, a hiss could be heard seething behind every dark word.

"W-we bro-broke the k-kid's arm?" The brown wolf stuttred, he looked swiftly betwen his two other companions.

"I would like to see how well you guys handled a broken limb..." Azuka said offhandedly.

"I would like to see how these guys get out of this room with both of their legs broken..." Sala's cold voice cut in suddenly.

Startled, the three turned around, eyes wide with berly containted fear.

Sala, leaning against the doorframe, with a smile that was so freezing that it made chills climb along Arlen's spine as he watched it. The brown eyes where like two frosted stones. Veiled in bitter, cold neutrality. A sharp spark of anger could be seen slowly piercing the frozen chell, however. Sala eyed the three wolves with a gaze that a torture might give to her soon-to-be-victims.

The three wolves became stiff with fear, their pupils shrunk in trepidation, their ears lowerd on their heads, their tails curled between their legs.

"You aren't actually going to do something to them, right?" John asked with an unsure smile.

Sala's cold eyes pinpointed onto him. "You know that when I promise something, I always keep it," She glanced coldly at the unfortunate canine trio. "And promises like these, are easy to keep!" She finished cooly.

"And if I command you to leave them alone?" John calmy inquired.

"Then I would obey, of course!" She replied tersely.

"Good." John replied, just as calm as before.

Sala gave him an angry scowl in reply. Her beautiful lips turned into a thin line, her brow pulled into sharp lines.

John shrugged, as if saying "What are you going to do about it?"

Sala's glarer deepened.

A sharp wine made both felines turn around.

The brown wolf's tail was curled betwen his legs, his ears were lowerd deeply onto his head. Another wine sounded from him. Seconds later a wet spot started to slowly grow on the front of his pants.

"Eww!"

"What the hell man!"

Sala scoffed. "Some solider you are!" Her voice was tinged with acid.

She rolled her eyes when John gave her a warning glarer.

"I'm s-s sorry! I'm just so s-scared!" The brown wolf wined.

John rolled his eyes. "Just get outta here!" He grumbled and jerked his tumb at the door. The trio of wolves quickly did as commanded and rushed out of the room.

For a few seconds sillence was the only sound in the room.

John turned towards the boy. "So how was your morning then?" He smiled tiredly.

The boy smiled sardonically back. "No better then yours."
