Poem #87: Living in a Fantasy
#88 of Poetry
This is a poem for anyone who's been bullied, anyone who's been made fun of or put down by another for any reason. It's a poem for those who just love fantasy, for those who find themselves constantly running away from their problems. It's a poem that's for anyone who's just wanted to escape the world, if even just for a little while. Hope it means something to you.
Living in a Fantasy
Tumbled down and feathered fall
Sometimes we've just got to
Run from it all
We run and run
But where does it take us?
Into another world of fun.
Sticks and stones don't break
Our bones
Every day we fake
We close our minds, our thoughts
And open our eyes
Seeing what an evildoer has wrought
This new world is better
The grass greener, the sun brighter
The people nicer, the water wetter
This world protects
And serves its people right
Away from the society that infects
Some days are hard
Some days harder still
There exists no magical ward
No magical place
No mystical hero
Only many enemies to face
It's a darker reality
Made easier, a bit
To believe in fantasy.
