(This is based off of something that happened to me about 3 years ago. Be warned: You may be disturbed..)

(A/N: I think it's time I told you guys a story. About 3 years ago something happened to me, and I remember it so vividly, that I wanted to recount it in a story. Be warned: This IS based off of something that ACTUALLY happened to me. You may call me insane, or this may scare you, but hey, I'm telling my story. Whether or not you want to believe me is up to you)

It would seem that, if one is continually exposed to something, then logically, they would grow used to such things and become desensitized, so as to avoid emotional and mental damage. But how long must a subject be exposed before they adjust?  Or what if they don't need too? What If they have a natural ability to cope with things that would shake and disturb any other sapient creature? Kiseki woke with a start, a sudden shock going through him as his mind was instantly ripped back to reality, much like the shock when one wakes from a horrific nightmare. The cougar snapped his eyes open to gaze at the only thing his eyes could focus on, which was his ceiling. "...hhhgnnn..." He heard a noise escape from his throat, and then it hit him. This was another case of sleep paralysis. He knew this because of the heavy weight from his own body, and the inability to move. Though his thought processes were still very distorted, Kiseki had learned to deal with this, as it happened very often.I'm okay... I just need a sec- huh? The cougar thought as his mind started to awaken to normal speed, though he still felt his body remain stone. With another forced attempt to sigh, something else began to happen, all within the span of what seemed to be a single moment.Oh my god... He thought. His eyes that could only focus on the ceiling showed him something that he knew right then he would never forget. It was a light; suspended near the celling directly above him. Kiseki had no choice but to watch it as he pushed against his immobile body. Something's wrong. He thought. This wasn't anything like normal sleep paralysis or the hallucinations that came with it. His mind was completely awake now, not at all influenced by his own dreams. What happened next said more to him than he could ever convey into words. From the light, the outline of a figure appeared. A being whom Kiseki could see from the chest and shoulder and up. He couldn't see its face, but Kiseki knew that he wasn't dreaming now. Whatever the hell was happening was real... The figure moved its head to the side, watching the paralyzed cougar, whom began to feel something familiar. He felt someone touch his mind. A silent, yet lucid feeling that came with every telepathic instance Kiseki had ever had. Now, he realized, that this creature he was seeing was trying to talk to him, the same way a spirit would. The physical sensation Kiseki got from the mental touch rushed through him, and with it, an instant shift in his mood.(Do not be afraid....) The cougars' heart leaped as a silent voice whispered into the depths of his mind. He was shocked to say the least, as if he had cold water dripped onto his head. (Please relax young one..) The voice whispered. Kiseki's eyes remained focused on the outline of this being. He did too. He felt his fear start to fall away as the cougar felt more and more into the creature's mind. It wasn't malicious or angry at all, Kiseki felt it.(We scared you. We're sorry. We aren't going to harm you.) The being told him in this silent language. Telepathy was never spoken like words were. The cougar felt out the meanings of the thoughts. It was true. Whatever these things were, had no intentions of scaring or harming him. He felt himself breathing, and tried to send out a single thought in return. But Kiseki didn't know what to say back, all he could "say" was show his own feelings, which he knew from this mental link, that these creatures were well aware of.I'm...I'm not afraid anymore now. He told them. He was only scared until he'd felt this alien mind. It was strange, foreign, unlike any other mind Kiseki had felt before. It was vast, evolved, and looked as massive as the universe itself. And yet, it was still a person; a person with feelings, memories, experiences, and every bit of personality that makes a person, well, a person. He managed to sigh again, feeling his body loosen up, and allow for the slightest of movement.Wait! Wait a second! What are you going to do with me? Will I remember this? The cougar asked quickly in his head. Now that he wasn't as shocked, he wanted to ask as much as possible while he could. The being in the doorway seemed to contemplate something, Kiseki being able to feel that for a moment, it thought about the others on its side or the light. There were many creatures.. (We are only doing what is necessary... Do not be afraid.) It said. And then a moment passed before something else happened. Kiseki felt himself start to be lifted up from his bead, inching closer and closer to the portal-like opening.I'm not afraid. I want to remember this, He remembered saying. But then everything began to go white...   He felt a soft thump as his body dropped onto the bed, the cougar's head feeling as if it had been sucked through a wormhole. Something clicked in his head, and with a gasp, Kiseki sat up in his bed, surprised he could move, and looked at the clock. The strangest feeling hung over him.I.... I can't fucking believe this. He thought. "Was I just abducted..?" He said aloud into his now vacant room. He shook his head slowly. Whatever happened to him was to him, undeniably real. He sat on the edge of his bed, watching the clock. He knew he didn't fall asleep. He remembered everything so clearly. But then when everything went white, he felt his perception of time -warp-. He had a memory gap. He remembered the before, and where he was right now; the after. But... Kiseki took a deep breath, the green numbers on his clock as solid as the flow of time. Suddenly, he felt his mouth pull itself into a smile. He lay back down in his bed, arms behind his head as he chuckled to himself.Holy fucking shit. Nobody's gonna believe this!!!
