I stood there, my mouth agape as I looked at her. Her slim form in that tight civilian uniform, her sweeping hair going across her face leaving an eye exposed, her small but perky breasts, he little butt poking out of the back of her uniform, covered appropriately by her white bushy tail.

I quickly had to kenisis a crate in front of me to cover the bulge in my pants. God this was embarrassing. Thankfully no one, let alone the girl, noticed my problem. Work was pretty uneventful after that, but I was still in awe at that girl. Who was she? Whose family member is she? I was very deep in thought when I looked up and realised I had walked to the escape pod room. "Jesus," I muttered as I turned around and headed back to the elevator. "where the feck am I actually going?" The elevator came quickly to it's stop on my floor, but before I could head back to my room my R.I.G. beeped the incoming message tune. The quarter master Adam appeared on the virtual screen in front of me. "Rolland,I need a quick word with you in my office if you don't mind" he said halfheartedly. "Sure, just gimme a sec." I sighed, as I walked back towards the tram to the control station of the ship.

"Ah Rolland," Adam states. "Take a seat over here."

This is odd. There's usually only one seat by the office desks. Thinking nothing of it, I sat down on the extra chair. "Rolland...I've got good news and bad news...maybe. Depends how you look at it" he said thoughtfully. "O..k..." I slowly said concerned about what was to come.

"Well firstly, you've got a new roommate-"

"Rule 58 of the quarters, no inter-species roommates" I quickly retorted. I hated roommates.

"Yes" Adam muttered, gritting his teeth in frustration."I aware of MY rules rolland, but it's not a human, she's an anthromorph like you."

She's an anthromorph like you.

She's an anthromorph.

She.

The sentence echoed in my head. I was the only anthromorph on the ship except for..

"Bu-but rule 34 states no mixed gender-"I stuttered trying to find someway I could avoid this."Rolland, you know that's over ruled by the anthromorph rule!" He stated pointing at me. "Okay but what about my 'collection'?" I asked quietly. Adam sat back on his chair for a moment deep in thought. After a cripplingly awkward silence he finally figured something out. "Alright, while you show her the ship briefly ill go and take all your stuff to storage hold E. only I've got a card for that hold so it should be safe, okay?" He asked, though it would have to be regardless. There was no other option.

"Alright" I said solemnly, my ears tucked behind my head, my tail swaying slowly.

"Alright glad we've straightened that out, now" Adam said before messaging someone on his rig. "Send her in." He simply said, and the door opened almost instantly. I could barely contain myself. The first time I'd seen her she was across the hanger. Now she was right here beside me! If her body wasn't enough, I could make out her face now too.

Her grey-white hair swept across her face, the white fur on her face was blotted in spots with tiny dots of black, almost too perfectly. Her eyes were the deepest blue and even just glancing at them made me feel warmer inside, and she had the cutest smile on her face, the type that you can't help but smile back at.

"Please, sit Lydia" Adam grinned, snapping me back to reality."Lydia this is Rolland Hanson. Rolland this is Lydia Blair." He said smiling that fake, albeit convincing, smile of his.

"H-hi" she peeped, her cheeks turning slightly red. "Rolland here is going to be your roommate. I think you'll like it, it's an anthromorph only room at the edge of the quarters, one of the only ones with windows!" He rambled. Lydia appeared slightly nervous when the accommodation was mentioned. My heart was beating quite a bit as well,I was barely able to keep my breath steady. "Well.." Adam said noticing the tension in the room. "Rolland why don't you show your new roommate around?"

"S-sure thing, c'mon L-Lydia.." I stuttered, blushing through my copper-bronze fur. She nodded slightly, and followed me out.

==================

"And finally, this is the cafeteria." I chirped, pointing across the dark room. "You hungry?" I asked, taking out my cafeteria keycard. "Um...y-yeah a little" she blushed. Poor thing. She was still nervous as hell.

I chuckled quietly to myself as I unlocked the kitchen section of the cafeteria. I flicked on the lights, making the dull buzz the only other noise, other than for our breathing. "Want anything particular?" I asked, opening one if the large freezer-fridge. There was some meats, dehydrated stuff and even a some fresh produce. My only worry was that there would be an issue with me taking food. I mean it wasn't in short supply but even so we were in space. Re-supplies weren't often enough to let us eat as much as we wished.

"I d-don't mind.." She said, pulling herself onto a kitchen top counter.

"Hmmm" I thought aloud."how does soup sound?" I asked, checking the leftovers vegetables from that days dinner.

============

After Lydia was finished we had headed back to the room. It was late at this stage and the security were making there rounds outside leaving a faint 'tap tap tap' noise echoing through the hallways.

Lydia slept in the bunk across the room from me. She fell asleep pretty quick. The room however felt very empty without my "collection" scattered around it, but knowing it was safe left me at ease. Who knows, maybe I could show Lydia them all one day. Sleep quickly over came me, while the USG Ishimura took position over the planet.

But it was not a restful sleep. It was full of nightmares of monsters, destruction and death...

And I was the cause of it all.
